- The Turtle divewatch from Seiko is a legendary collection of sportswatches from the Japanese watch company Maybe most known from Apocalypse Now where Charlie Sheen wears a Turtle, this line of divers is a very popular one with watch fans.
Now Seiko have released a new trio of 2020 "King Turtle" watches to support Save The Ocean. In this video I present a first impression of the blue SRPE07K1 special edition King Turtle.

Truly beautiful Seiko diver's !!!
I have 3 Special Edition Turtle and 2 SE Samurai. All comes in this type of box. I bought this for $415 from Shopee MY. It's cheaper here bec the seiko factory that make these watches is located here, Malaysia. The 03 with bracelet is the same price and 05 is less than $400.
Yes, it does wear smaller than the dimension suggests. It also looks smaller, primarily bec the flat surface of the dial is small.

Thanks for the review. I agree about using a sapphire crystal. Even in a watch for a few hundred dollars should have a sapphire crystal. The price difference is not that drastic. A mega company like Seiko can afford it. I see plenty of micro-brands using better materiel. Companies like Zelos mentioned they would never make a watch without a sapphire crystal. Mark from Island watch also is offering ceramic bezels and sapphire in his line of Islander watches. The cyclops bothers me more than the day/date, but to tell the truth I would rather not have no date at all like the 4R38 or NH38 movements with no ghost position.
I have the Save the Ocean great white shark that has the same dial but with white lume and different bezel insert.
What color nato straps will look good with this model?
I wonder why they chose a black strap not blue! I just ordered mine but with a blue strap
The watch is very nice. The elongated magnifier slight catches the eye. Not sure if it’s a good thing. It’s interesting. Great video.
I 've the 'normal' white shark turtle and I think,I like the bezel and aluminum insert a bit more,but the sapphire crystal is a great addition.Greetings from germany Oni
That is the one to have. You can always pop a double domed sapphire in later on . This bezel and price on the new one are a bit meh.

Im missing a blue dial in my collection. This one is very nice, i was thinking of the mm300 but its not bright enough.

I had a Marinemaster with a Hardlex crystal. Never scratched it and I never felt like I was at a disadvantage vs sapphire. However, I recognize that all of us watch lovers have our own preferences and peculiarities.
Beautiful watch, great review , and thank you for giving us the bezel measurement it is important with Seiko in particular as Ive noticed with many models the bezel and case often are different and no one ever gives us the bezel measurement

The black version comes on a bracelet. I’m happy this one comes on rubber. On bracelet it would be too massive for my 7 inch wrist.

Lume is not exactly super bright but it does last pretty long.
Great video, I have a question to ask, I bought this model exactly two days ago, but not listed made in japan, neither front nor back, is the watch Japanese after all, or maybe the parts? I'll be happy to know
Hi. The “K” in the reference number indicates that the watch was assembled in another Asian country than Japan. If it had a “J” it would be assembled in Japan.

Looks good, but is it over priced for a saphire crystal and ceramic bezel when compared to the ordinary turtle. Any dislikes after the first month?
Hi Keith. I think the dial should be counted in as a big plus for this watch. I must say I’m getting happier with my purchase for each day. It’s a very special watch - at least in my collection.

@@TimeAndCrown Thanks, have you seen the black or green in person? Blue is my favourite of the three. The rubber strap isn't an issue for me as I normally use a NATO. I have found Seiko's rubber straps too sweaty in the past. I hope all is good in Kobenhavn, stay safe in these times.

Hi, regarding SRPE07K1, the watch you have reviewed doesn't say it is made in japan on its back. while I have seen other reviewers videos of SRPE07K1, where it says made in japan or Movement Japan. Why is that ? Do you have any clue? just curious.

Nice, but come on, Seiko, you can do better than that dust magnet of a strap...
Saphir cristal, ceramic bezel, good lume, sunburst dial, 200m, sharkey details, nh36.... Wow tou just got yourself a 3x overpriced SanMartin turtle.
Sorry for the Joke, but I found these seiko really expensive when you compare to what you can get from SanMartin / Heimdallr /proxima.... They charge between $210 to $260 max for same spec and quality
I would never buy a SanMartin as they rip off Seiko’s design. You can also get a Steinhart but it will never become a Submariner.
The quality of the King Turtle is very good. I rarely experience copies/homages getting anywhere near the watches they rip off.

Denis Muthuon If you are refering to Rolex they can’t hardly be accused of being copy cats. First (perfect) diver was a race just like first automatic chronograph etc.
