just go to a junk yard and take the whole latch assembly off old car... in your case - the brushes are gone, they have to be 3 times longer, so there is no proper contact in between the brushes and the motor... secondary, switch itself goes bad, very common case, costs about $25 brand new on amazon (yes, still in stock as of 2021)
to check the motor, you can jump the cables from the connecting plug, use 1 and 4 slots to connect directly to the motor legs at the connection to the switch. changing the position of connection the motor should turn clockwise or reverse, if it's not going it - most probably brushes are the fault.

unplug the wire harness from the motor and use voltmeter set at DC to locate constant incoming 12v in that harness. plug in some couple inches wires into those slots. be careful not to cause a shot, keep the wires separated from each other. now you can try to touch the wires to the connector on the motor, multiple ways and see if you will be able to make the motor spin. once you got it spinning one direction, you can reverse the wires and it will spin other direction. if it's not spinning in any way you connect the wires, your motor brushes are not functional anymore.
