The wrap carrier has new ones you put on like a t-shirt. Plastic buckle. You can do front carry.

I loved the wrap at home for the newborn stage. I used the Ergo Embrace for out of the house. When he got heavier, I started using Tulas. They are bulky, though. I never front faced my baby bc I kept reading that it is not an ideal ergonomic position. The back carry is the best! Putting baby on in this position seems to have the highest learning curve

Yeah, we did a LOT of front carry for a long time! I agree that back carry is probably better but yeah -- never did quite get the hang of it! Except in a hiking backpack -- that, we all love!

TY for this video! My 1st is 3 months old and I'm trying to figure out how to get out of the house more when I'm by myself! I have a wrap and a soft structure carrier. I like both for different things but she really didn't like the wrap because she couldn't see what i was looking at! Lol

Oh 3 months! congratulations! I’ve found that carrier preferences (for both of us) change back and forth every so often! It’s so much fun ❤️

With our daughter we had a Kelty backpack. It was great when she was young but I ended selling it as the bag itself was really heaving and take a lot of space to store it. Now, it's time to search an option for our little boy. 1.5 years old but already at 27 pounds.
I like the soft carrier option but I'm wondering if it would be great on short hikes. Also wondering at his age, the soft carrier would be comfortable with child in front... He really wants to see and might not like being in the back. So many carrier options but always difficult to find the right one without trying all of these!
    Any suggestion, thanks!

It IS hard to choose. Have you heard of the Trail Magik? It's good for when they like to hike a bit themselves but still need breaks. We've used it from age 1 to now almost 3.

@@wayfaringhumans Yesterday I found a used Littlelife Ranger for a cheap price and good condition. I didn't know this model but seems well reviewed and it's way lighter and smaller than typical backpack. I'll give it a try !
No never used the trail magic but maybe I'll check this one too.

@@sgirard1984 Def secondhand is the way to go! Or trying it on for a while in person at a store. Sucks to spend a bunch of money on something only to not love it...

Hi! Thanks for your videos! What carrier would you suggest for a 16 month old that can also do hip carry? Thanks!

I was very tempted by the tushbaby carrier at that age, but I’ve always (am still using sometimes!) my Lillebaby carrier at 2.5 years!

I have 3 tush baby carrier haha but sometimes I want hands free 😂 is it the toddler one you’re using? Have you tried the beco toddler? Do you find the lillebaby carrier ok even without the adjustable panel for height on their back? Thanks again!

@@AmberLynnMusician Hi! It's the same Lillebaby I've had since he was 4 months! :) I just use it for back carrying now (no adjustable panel). It's great but I don't use it for long distances -- only maybe 15-20 minutes tops at a time. For any longer distances than that, I use our hiking backpack (ours is from MEC in Canada and it's okay but I wish I'd gone with the Osprey poco)

@@wayfaringhumans oh ok! Maybe the lillebaby might not be useful for me! As I’m hoping to wear longer as he’s going through the clingy stage and wants to be held non stop! Do you wear the backpacking one at home? I’ll look into the osprey one! Thanks so much!!!!

@@AmberLynnMusician the hiking backpack one we just use outside. It's really more just for transport -- on hikes/long walks and not really meant for comfort/snuggling (there's a barrier between you and your child which makes it great for hikes, breathability-wise). Hope you find something you like for the snuggle factor :)
