Thanks for the review. It's quite hard to find reviews for less known brands like Palit. It's a decent card, I pushed it to 2000Mhz easily, with memory almost at 20kMhz. If not pushed it is quiet and when OC'd, it is .. well... not quiet. And luckily my dignity is still in tack thanks to the horizontal mount...
Thank you for this quick and very informative review of a really special 3090. I just ordered exactly this card. Why? So, basically it's one of the few cards, that let you go beyond all rules with the power limit. on the other hand it's just one of the cards, which is currently available here in my country in stock. sure, the look is quite "special", but i think the card looks amazing on the backplate and from a side view. since i made a cyberpunk style build, this greyish style matches pretty well... the fan side with the "gems" wouldn't be my first choice, but to be honest, i just set the color to a fixed color and that's it! the gpu bracket looks also much better than the other ones and at least, there's a bracket inside! :-) the differences in thermals are not really much or that bad, so it's completely to ignore from my point of view. truly one of the beastie 3090s, alongside to the rog strix oc and the ftw3 ultra...

For power I mostly rely on physical current clamps and wall power loggers for most power measurements. Software is hard to rely on, especially for really short spikes and such. Hwinfo usually does a good job though if you want to log anything on your own system without buying extra tools.
@Techtesters why do I get a max of 80 C on a closed case on Perf mode? Did you do the temp test on an open bench? Sorry but you are the only reviewer that has reviewed this card so far, and only one I can ask
I believe the rgb pins on the card are meant to control the rgb of a lighting strip or something you'd plug in. I'd like to see how their rgb software works, something I don't see in many reviews.
Good point, let me double check that, I was sure it was the other way around! As for the RGB software, it's pretty "meh". But so are all of them tbh, ASUS being "the least bad". It's got all the usual crap though, single color, breathing, RGB wave, etc. Nothing different.
I bought the 3080 Ti version of this, and its looks had nothing to do with it. It's the cheapest 3080 Ti I could find at £900. My case doesn't have transparent side, so really don't care what the card looks like.

Would it be safe to use 2 pcie cables with this card? I ordered one but only now realize that I only have 2 pcie cavle slots in my powersupply. Would it work with 2 cables but one of them being connected twice? The cable has 2 connectors by design (2x8 pcie in one cable).
You have to remember that whether the price difference is worth it, is entirely subjective. For me, the extra frames are well worth paying more for. The same could be said for the cost of gaming motherboards or gaming monitors. They are a lot more expensive. I play on a 34" Asus RoG monitor but I am upgrading to a 49" Samsung G9. Neither are as cheap as a lower priced 27" monitor. Other reviewers have found that some games are using more of the VRAM on the 3090 than the 3080s have in total and are seeing further performance boosts. Future games are going to do this more and more. In short, I have ordered a 3090.
If TechTubers really cared about their audience, they would stop making videos promoting ANY RTX 3000-series GPUs until NVIDIA gets off its money-grubbing ass and forces its partners (retail and AIB) to implement anti-scalping measures in their sales portals. You know, kinda like HOW AMD IS DOING IT for their upcoming GPU release. But we get it... Just like how NVIDIA still gets paid whether a scalper buys all their inventory or real users do, techtubers need money too. On that note... I'll skip this video and go watch something else.

I think it's important to know what you are getting into if you're doing that. It's not a "promotion", it's a review you and others should be able to use now (if pre-ordering), andin a couple of weeks or months when supply evens out. Suggesting it's some selfish money bs just doesn't make any sense, if I wanted to do that I'd just start doing entertainment or look at mainstream products like mobile devices. I prefer to look at GPUs :P Also let's see if AMD actually manages to do better, they hardly have a perfect rep when it comes to supply issues.
Outstanding review as usual. Regarding the Palit GeForce RTX 3090 Game Rock OC, that card is absolutely hideous, I would never purchase such an ostentatious piece of hardware. I am currently waiting for the Asus ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3080 OC to become available here in Toronto Canada.
While Strix is a better card overall, it's also much more expensive. This is a very good card for the money, build quality is great. I have same card but 3070.

There is actually a huge difference in what's considered a cool looking pc depending on the region, if you ever get to visit one of those Chinese or Taiwanese tech markets, you'll be surprised what you can find!

They've been around and pretty big in Asia for years now. They just haven't really been popular in the west afaik, especially here in the EU. They clearly know how to make a GPU though.
Nothing wrong with them. They make videocards exclusively. But they don't really sell globally. Mostly Asia, Russia, Ukraine where their market share is quite good. They also own Gainward, another GPU brand. Personally i think support will be better on the bigger brands.
Palit is one of the (if not the) largest gpu companies worldwide, although yes primarily due to the aisa market. Colorful is also very big in aisa as well.

The only place to see rtx30xx cards is on tech channels on UA-cam, it’s like going to the zoo to see exotic animals you can’t have as pets.
