I wish manufacturers would focus more on the top of the card and backplate. The parts you actually see once the card is installed.

vertical mounting is an obvious solution but due to some configurations having poor thermal performance that way and majority of people mounting horizonal anyways I agree. ude think some companies would capitalize on that by now.

I agree - I know people will say that you can use a vertical mount etc. But personally, I don't want to pay extra to vertically mount a GPU that I've already spent a fortune on, then it also means the card's air intake becomes the side-panel of your case.

I know it's a joke, but I managed to buy three RTXs 3080 already. You just need certain tools (Distill) to get notified as soon as they put a couple of cards on stock and be decently fast.

I have one i really can't fault it tbh, yeah the lighting can be a tad to much but download Thundermaster and you can set it to what you want. It peforms really well, and temps even with a 120 core 700 memory overclock never break 70c 😊
With all those rgb lights on the card I was expecting it to be at least 10% faster than the Founders edition.
Set it to red to triple your frame rate

I've been quite impressed by Palit lately. I've always though they are 2nd grade products, but now that I have the Palit GamingPro OC, I think I changed my mind. After doing a few tests under the same conditions, I found that the VRAM temps on the Gaming Pro OC are better than my MSI Suprim X which should allegedly be the more premium card. Not to mention, it's more compact (GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition size) and doesn't even need the support bracket that comes with it. Good job, Palit!

Thanks for the great review Steve. I wouldn't have taken the Game Rock seriously either but it seems to be a solid card once stock levels improve. 1 question: When you state the height of the cards is it from the base of the PCI-E strip or the PCIE bracket to the tallest part? I ask as the TUF gaming seems much taller than its 12.6cm quoted by Asus and here you mentioned 13.6cm for the Palit card which looks similarly tall in comparison to the standardised PCI-E bracket

I’m not really nuts about rgb, but I think THAT looks fantastic. I agree with all the others who think more manufacturers should push the envelope a bit.

I guess Gamerock will sell well in places like Dubai, if they ever get any. Some Palit cards used to look great during the Pascal generation. My GTX 1070 Super Jetstream was the best card I've ever used and I've been building computers over 15 years. Very quiet and looked great in a minimalistic setup.

Hey, did you check what the mounting hole spacing is on this card? Looking to slap a simple GPU core block on this because there are still no waterblocks available for it.

Finally! A graphics card that lights up "GEFORCE RTX" in RGB. I wish companies would understand that one would want to show off "RTX" on their GPU, rather than boring company names like "Asus", "MSI" etc.
3:39 can you cut along the lines to make a stylised look like the top part of the cards? This will still retain the design but the card will have more airflow. I know you said that this may not improve performance but I am curious why the cut the design up top but only printed it down below.

I have the same card. What were your overclock settings from the "overclocked stats" section of the video? Pretty sexy card. I was getting up to 75c without an overclock. I changed my case and upgraded from 9 120mm fans to 4 140mm fans. I'm now at 67-70c.
Can the RGB be turned off by software or hardware or is it just on every time the coputer is on ? Maybe disconnecting one of those white connectors on that green PCB on the back of the card ( underneath the back plate ) .
This one looks like it's the best candidate for ghetto water cooling with an AIO. That little ram/vrm cooling plate if perfect for that.

The cheapest RTX 3070 Ti I was able to order was GameRock OC. Still waiting for it to arrive. I almost don't care how it looks, it's still a huge upgrade to my MSI aero 1080 oc

I've had a few palit gpu's over the years. I can say they keep quiet,cool and are good value. They're defo an underrated brand
here in my country(PH), Palit has kind of a bad reputation among enthusiasts. we refer to it as "Palit-in" or roughly "The quality is bad, you'd have to change/RMA that card in no time" translated into english.
Although this was around the Pascal and older era of cards. I'm not updated on the Palit turing and newer ones.
I own a palit 1660ti and can say the same, also other vendors who sell exclusively the big 3 brands (gigabyte, msi asus) tend to make fun of palit and spread bad rumors about it where I live for some reason.

Absolutely BRILLIANT card, the look might not be for everyone but in the hand the card is amazing and performs very very well.
I like that they try to deviate from the "black boxes with red stripes" (Steve from GN). Jayz2cents also had a really freaky looking card these days. The one where the middle fan has some funky red pulsing RGB effect. More companies should do that.
This card is designed to be vertical mounted. Other than the fact that you can't see the shroud in the traditional position, the bottom of the motherboard is the last place I want to see lit up, with all those front panel cables.
A vertical mount of this GPU is questionable, even sunglasses don't help as they also dim the monitor.
I guess the appeal of this is to work as underglow akin to early Fast and Furious cars .

Asking because the PCB already looks impressively small & temps with current cooling solutions look more than under control.

Can you guys look at reviewing an Eve Spectrum monitor asap please? I know people are waiting on your channels review before pre-ordering/cancelling orders.
I understand that performance > aesthetics but with current cases having glass panel. Just makes sense to get something striking or like a showcase piece. RGB shows the card a bit more than ones without or minimal, in the world of RGB anyways.
If I were to build one I would highly consider performance and looks, not good for the wallet but idk, unless I go for ITX which isn't exactly good for thermals atm. I need more other design ideas.

HU, would mind trying to get a Gigabyte 3090 Turbo 24G? Its a 3090 blower style card that only takes 2 slots in your pc. Would be pretty interesting to see its results, well, in case you manage to get one.

Blower isn't usually the best when it comes to thermals. I always freak out about mine, not to mention a bit louder.
2/3 slots doesn't matter too much as long as it's not on the way of something underneath it.
I wish I had open air over blower.
Blower sucks, even NVIDIA has abandoned it since 20xx series.

Use two pcie cables. Beware not every 650 watt unit has two of those, but usually 750-850 watts units have, which are probably more recommended units anyway for 3080.

11:25 In Finland there's one retailer who has listed the non-OC for 849 € incl. 24% tax. (they will be getting a _massive_ shipment of three of these next week). For reference, that's the same price as MSI Trio or EVGA XC3 Gaming, pretty reasonable price if you ask me.

I never really considered it at first but these new cards are pulling insane power. My gtx 1080 at 2050Mhz uses 200W full load, the 3080 is double the performance of my GPU and double the power, that is some awful efficiency two generations later.
