Hello, and thank you for your Information! I see Information with active charcoal / charcoal. You can put in the water for propagation. I see it, it works really well!
@@KillThisPlant You'r welcome. You make good content with good informations! Try it. And what works good too is oxygen. With so a stone bubble machine for the aquarium. It's good for the plant, bad for the bad anarobic microorganism.
Sorry to hear that! There are a few things to do. The stem: (if there is enough space between the rotten part and the aerial root) cut it back until you can't see any more rot. Treat it with a mix of hydrogen peroxide and water (please no rubbing alcohol). The aerial root: cut the rotten part off, treat with hydrogen peroxide and water mixture. After you've done that follow the steps in the video again. That's the best case scenario. You can also consider rooting in sphagnum moss but it can be challenging to manage how damp to keep the moss if you've never done it before. Hope this helps. Good luck with your cutting.
Beautiful video but I have a question about my monsters cutting. When I let it dry for a few hours it begins to brown, is this normal? I’m bit scared for it to Rot :/
@@KillThisPlant only issue is my plant has no arieal roots and roots it’s just a regular leaf cutting. That’s why I asked if I can fully submerge it in water.
It's always best to wait until your plant has an aerial root before you cut it. If you've already cut it, you can still propagate it in water but there is a much higher chance that it might fail.
@@KillThisPlant okay thanks! I’m in a sticky situation then, I cut mine and accidentally left the rooted portion out in the cold and it froze, the cutting has no Ariel roots. I’m going to try my best...
My 5 year old monstera is turning yellow after repotting it. And I don’t know why!! I repot the monstera before and everything went well back then in 2020. But now this year spring 2024 the monstera seems to die after I repot it 2 weeks ago. I bought the same soil that I used before. Soil is perfect not to dry not to wet. The yellow leaves starts from on under to above and the air roots are dying too.. the leaves are hanging. I have 4 upper leaves that looks good, but I’m afraid they are going to turning yellow too. The are no bugs etc. And the monstera stands on the same place as it did from the beginning. please help me! What can do?
This is usually due to a too large pot size increase or a severe lack of light. I would really have to see the plant. We have a discord community you can join through my about section.
@@KillThisPlant thanks for your response! It is for almost 99% that I put it in a too large pot! Never knew that can be the cause. I ‘saved’ the top leaves by watching your proganation video. The top leaves also started to hanging. Since I cut it and put in water as in the video, the leaves are looking a lot better today!! They become a lot stronger. I placed in on exactly the same place as it was before. So it wasn’t the lack of light for sure. Thank you so much for so far. And I will join your discord community :-)
You can, but you usually need to cut off a lot of the rot, before treating it. so if the cutting isn't long enough or doesn't have additional nodes to work with you're probably out of luck.
It is possible! It can be more challenging because it'll take longer to develop a root. The longer it has to sit in water the higher chance it has to develop root rot. Since Monsteras are such fast growers its usually just better to wait for an aerial root to develop.
Keep an eye out to see if the rot is making its way up the stem. You can cut off the rotten part, then basically repeat all my steps (let the stem callous for an hour, not overnight, since you have roots). A crazy idea I've done; I've layed my propagation sideways and used a stack of books to ensure that only the roots are in the glass. This will keep the stem out of water but you need a lot of space and you need to make sure you monitor your water levels closely.

No its fine! You can wait a couple of minutes after blowing the candle out, and if you've let the stem callous there wont be any issues.

I don’t have any of the anti fungal you have listed is there anything else that you can provide?bi already cut the end
I already let me plant callus. Would it bD bad to put fungicide on it after?
Not bad, but it'll probably be less effective.
