Is there a particular reason you chose 6s for this? Just cause you have 6s batts for your other quads? Because usually 4s seems to be recommended for 3" quads.
@drelephanttube no other reason than I don't like the saggy feeling I get from 4s. This was my first ever "micro" build, and I just wanted to prove I could. It doesn't mean you should. This quad flies well on 4s if that's how you want to build it.

@@MurdersFPV hmmm okay I see what you mean, I already have a whoop but find myself lagging in the corners. I know the Babyhawk series usually is aggressive enough but I’m not sure if an O3 will fit
Having never watched before (subscribed) I’ve been looking for a < 250 alternate to my larger freestyle drones. The flying feels like the drone isn’t as floaty (I’m not a great pilot, but I do love playing with the inertia and speed to “swoop” a lot) is this due to lack of weight and inertia or pilot style?
Newer to FPV. Currently I have a 5 inch drone (Source One V5). Been debating what to build as my second and this Quadmula F3 is on the list. Is there a benefit to building this kind of 3 inch over a 5 inch other than weight restrictions? Does it feel similar to a 5 inch when flying?
This particular build actually does fly very similar to a 5" build. There is a power difference of course but there is definitely enough power to rip around obstacles like a 5". The one thing you do need to get used to is using all of its available momentum. It doesn't fling like a 5" because it is so lightweight but once you get used to the throttle in regards to flinging it you will get the hang of it.
@@MurdersFPV Thanks for replying so quickly. I appreciate the feedback. Great videos by the way. Just found your channel today but I've been really enjoying your stuff.

@@MurdersFPVi planing also to build this exactly Like yours. I build The Quadmulla siren f5 Split Mini with The slats 2306 and all The stuff you listet and ITS super fun. Iam interestet in this 2 Files. Great thanks
i currently fly a Armattan Tadpole with a VIsta (3"), and i have way more fun freestyling the 3" compared to a 'full size' so im excited to finally have a good HD capture option in the O3. eyeing up a few frames, thought i was set on the AOS 3.5 but now im thinking twice
The SF3 is a really great quad. It's remarkable for a lot of reasons. Ease of build, tunability, flight performance, and the ability to fit many different setups into it comfortably while maintaining a lightweight build. I haven't tried the AOS 3.5 personally but I firmly believe in Chris' work and I'm sure it flies great.
I'm not too sure if there are other motors that I would recommend. I'm a pretty big fan of these ones for this build. Are you asking for bigger motors?
Nice! Flying with that ND filter makes a world of difference. I've seen a lot of reviews now and most are not using a filter but the ones that do make the footage look so much better. The shadows will always be a little too dark with DJI but besides that I'd be willing to ditch the GoPro for a lot of flying with this system. I've heard there's a 4k 100 fps with the Goggles 2, or 4k 120 fps option with the V2 goggles for recording. If that's true I'd be interested to see some slow motion footage of the system.
So I flew all day yesterday and I did so on the 4k 100fps setting and I honestly was not able to get the footage to play nice with the footage in this video. This was all 4k 60fps. With the 4k 60fps I can change my sequence to 29.97 fps and get the footage to look far more "cinematic" with very little effort. I feel like the 100fps footage is very difficult to work with and I'd honestly suggest using the Goggles V2 for that kind of stuff because at least 120fps works well in the 29.97 sequence.
Id like to build this up but don't have any tuning experience. Can you provide pids or point me in the right direction? thanks, awesome video and flying.
@ABYSSSP7FN Now that the price of the O3 has gone down, this drone is well under $500 to build. $340-360, depending on where you are able to get an O3 from.
Amazing flight. This is the drone I want, recently purchased my first drone the Avata and I hate there is so many restrictions on where I can fly, basically no where cause Dji geofence. I’m gonna invest in something like this it’s just confusing how to buy or build I’m a newbie
I have a complete parts list in the description for you. The building part may be a learning curve for sure but I do have a video for that too. ua-cam.com/video/k54V_UknaeQ/v-deo.html
This is a very informative and helpful video for me. I'm new to FPV quads but have over 30 years building and flying rc choppers. I was hoping for a high quality BNF under 250g mini quad that has or is capable of housing the 03 Air, but I don't see anything available right now. Was thinking about the Protek R25 HD type of quad but the frame is too small. I know I can probably build this quad u r showing, but I don't know if I can set it up correctly. I will use the G 2's and still not sure about a controller. Plz advise if u have time. Thx
@@MurdersFPV Thx so much. I'm probably going to need a lot of help getting up and running. I've never set one up and it's a lot more complex then my choppers were. I just orderd a set of Googles 2 and I've received a RM Zorro with built in ELRS. So I'll join Instagram just so I can ask u questions now and then. I'll try not to be too much of a bother.
AUW is 239g, dry is 177g. I fly at 25° and that's what you see in this footage. Of course the higher the camera angle the more likely you'll start to get the top plate in view.
I'm planing to build one just like that with an 03 I don't carry a GoPro. I have some 850mah 4 s batteries that I want to use. Do you think that the reason why it feels how it feels has a lot to do with the fact that you are using 6s.
1) no it's incredibly agile which is why I was very shocked when I first built this drone. 2) I never stabilize my freestyle footage unless it's for demonstration purposes and if so I will clearly state it.
Awesome flying! I'm just getting into the hobby and looking to build my first quad hopefully with an O3. Would you be open to doing a start to finish step by step video of this build? Love the idea of the smaller form factor of a 3" since there aren't a lot of open spaces near me to fly. Granted is it possible to get more than 3 minutes flight time? Or would you have to go to a 5" to get that?
It's more a limitation of the battery and the fact that this quad is staying under 250g. You could absolutely build something like this with stronger motors and carry a larger battery. Flight experience would be even better but you would weigh more than 250g.
Would you still recommend all the components of this build today or there is anything you think is better? I bought the O3, frame and motors already, about to buy the stack and batteries.
@@MurdersFPV Thank you so much, I will buy everything right now. I wish the "Djinn F25 Split" was available so I wouldn't have the props in view but well. Thank you for taking of your time to answer. I still can't belive you have been flying for such a short time and fly like that!
If your goal is sub 250 I'd say they are perfect. If you don't care about the weight you can go a little bigger and get bigger battery packs. This setup does fly pretty well as is.
Great flying and a great video! Keep up the good work. Appreciate that you took time to read the many comments also. I was wondering what the weight of the quad is without the battery? Is that 380 mah 6s hv battery the sweet spot for power to weight ratio or could you go with like a 6s 450 to get longer flight times without it feeling too heavy? I know there’s diminishing returns if you get a battery that is too heavy. I would be happy with about 4.5 to 5 minutes flight time with less aggressive acro flying but still keeping it under 250g. I was just wondering what your thoughts were on battery choices for the build vs flight time and flight performance.
So I don't really do anything special to try and save weight. I just did this build with the intention to see if it would end up under 250g and it easily made it. To that end I would say these batteries are absolutely the sweet spot. A lot of this build hinges on those batteries for the purpose of keeping it below the 250g weight AND making it a fun flight experience with a reasonable flight time. If you aren't flying aggressively and just cruising/exploring you will get close to about 5 minutes with these packs.
I spent a lot of time and money sifting through frames since I started and ever since I started flying Quadmula frames I haven't had the urge to fly anything else. I've already dissected all my ImpulseRC Apex and Vega frames.
@@MurdersFPV yeah dude as someone who was die hard apex apex. Id def be interested in giving these quadmula a fair shot they seem to be popping up a lot lately in my feed and I'm actually pretty intrigued with the company and frames not going to lie.
Quick question on vibrations in gyro of O3 camera. I heard from some that unit vibration or shakings can affect O3 camera. Is the quadmula SF3 frame ok to use O3 camera?
The SF3 will come with a TPU camera mounting solution if you select the "O3" VTX option when you order it. It's the perfect frame for the O3 camera. My footage had no shaking in this video and I don't use any stabilization. It works great. 😉
The ND does make it a little darker but I find using an ND8 or 16 is fine and doesn't affect my vision enough for me to notice. All camera settings are Auto and this is D-Cinelike with a very mild color grade.
Hi there, nice video, i really like the 3 inch quads and want to build one like yours - sub 250g and with a o3. I would prefer it on 4s, but yours flights really nice on that 6s pack... would be nice if you can make a build video of that quad ❤
I saw the batteries have xt 30. does the esc stack have an xt30 controller aswell or would you recommend to put an xt60 on the batteries or what's your recommendation :)
That's a great question. The packs are XT30 and the stack comes with an XT60 connector. I have tons of parts and I ended up unsoldering the XT60 and soldering in an XT30 connector to the stack. I recommend that way as opposed to the XT60 on the batteries. Just one connector you need to change.
Thanks! But what do i do if i have no spare parts. My charger is xt60 and the esc of the drone aswell but only the batteries have xt30. I thought of buying like the small adapters from xt30 to xt60 for the charger and the drone aswell or is that a bad idea because the adapter could get loose mid flight. Thanks!
Love the video. First time I've seen your stuff so I had to sub. I've been trying to find a good 3" frame for the O3 unit and this looks like the perfect fit! Is there anywhere in the U.S. that sells Quadmula frames? I'm ready to order but loathe the thought of waiting 3 weeks or more for it to ship from Tawain. Thanks!
They currently ship only from Tawain for now. Their standard shipping is $15 and it takes me about 5-7 business days to receive the package. Their DHL option is $30 and that is what they used to ship me my most recent sponsor package on this last Tuesday and I received it only 2 days later. It's crazy how fast they can ship.
This was honestly my first 3" drone and when I built it my mindset was like "I want more power" 😜 I flew a friend's 4s 3" and it wasn't really impressive so I decided on 6s and it ended up being pretty incredible.
@@MurdersFPV yes, but weight ? i have two 4S AOS 3,5" with those motors (but 3500) and its really good. when i switch form 5 inch its slower of coarse but its even good
@@steamvogue honestly I wasn't trying to make this quad sub 250 it just worked out that way. I think it's definitely in a sweet spot between weight and performance. I've never tried an AIO that I really liked.
@ST-online if you're really adding on weight, all 3-3.5" frames are going to start breaking much faster. Especially if you plan on bashing it. I'd probably recommend a Grinderino or Tanq S if you intend to fly a smaller quad and still bash it around. This Quadmula frame will do great up to 300-350g. After that, you'll start breaking arms in hard crashes.

@@mozaerial my description has the list of all the parts I use and I truly feel this setup is a great combination.

Nice. Just ordered a volador vx3 for the 03 👌🏻
This video is so exactly what I was looking for that I just ordered all components. Any chance you share some tuning or planning on a tutorial video to build and setup? Great content and amazing flight
If you end up building with the same components I can send you over my CLI dump for the tune. Also, if you need any building tips I can help you with any questions. Awesome. Do you think a 4" long range quad is doable under 250g with the O3?
Absolutely, actually there's one from Flywoo.
that's what I'm talking bout sick! and great track!
i currently fly a Armattan Tadpole with a VIsta (3"), and i have way more fun freestyling the 3" compared to a 'full size' so im excited to finally have a good HD capture option in the O3. eyeing up a few frames, thought i was set on the AOS 3.5 but now im thinking twice
Great flying 💪💀
Very nice👍 The video is so beautiful. Did you tune the 3-inch quad PID and filter?
Yup, I tune all my own quads. I take a lot of pride in tuning my drones and not relying on any stabilization.
@@MurdersFPV It's so hard because it takes a lot of effort. respect👏👏👏
Subbed. Sold me on the Siren F3 Split. Just hate how long shipping can take.. Oooof.. Any thoughts on running 4s with the siren?
Amazing flying bro
Hello if i use the DJI radio i save some weight. Can you recommend some better motors then?
Amazing flow!
Id like to build this up but don't have any tuning experience. Can you provide pids or point me in the right direction? thanks, awesome video and flying.
Here's my CLI diff all file for this little guy.

@@MurdersFPV Thanks!
How much flight time do you do with those lipo and that drone?😍
With my setup and the way I fly, I average about 3 to 3 1/2 minutes of flight time. Just cruising around I've gotten up to about 6 minutes.
how much was the total cost of this build i am looking to find a good drone to build thats not over about 500
@ABYSSSP7FN Now that the price of the O3 has gone down, this drone is well under $500 to build. $340-360, depending on where you are able to get an O3 from.
@@MurdersFPV that’s great because some others I were looking at were about 600 and I thought that was a little high
Do you have a parts list that I could have or look at
@@ABYSSSP7FN it's in the description.
@@MurdersFPV ok thanks
very smooth! not even rocksteady?
I don't use stabilization in my freestyle unless it's for demonstration purposes and if so I will clearly state it somewhere in the video.
Amazing flight. This is the drone I want, recently purchased my first drone the Avata and I hate there is so many restrictions on where I can fly, basically no where cause Dji geofence. I’m gonna invest in something like this it’s just confusing how to buy or build I’m

@@MurdersFPVthanks again! I just ordered some of the parts to build this. I’m gonna do it all watching your videos if I can, wish me luck!
Thx
Sorry for the late response but if you ever need some advice feel free to hit me up on Instagram @murdersfpv
Do you have a build tutorial of this drone??
ua-cam.com/video/k54V_UknaeQ/v-deo.html
What's the dry weight (without battery) of this quad? AUW weight with battery? Can you see the frame in the goggle view at any of the camera angles?
AUW is 239g, dry is 177g. I fly at 25° and that's what you see in this footage. Of course the higher the camera angle the more likely you'll start to get the top plate in view.
I'm planing to build one just like that with an 03 I don't carry a GoPro. I have some 850mah 4 s batteries that I want to use. Do you think that the reason why it feels how it feels has a lot to do with the fact that you are using 6s.
Probably. Power to weight ratio is pretty good.
Great video just subscribed! I’m looking to build my first drone, will this work with a 4s 650 mah battery? I have a a lot of 4s so just wondering.
Should work but I would recommend the 4s motors.
Thanks for that. Two questions.
1) Is that build as ridiculously agile as it looks or am I just bugging?
2) Is this footy stabilized?
1) no it's incredibly agile which is why I was very shocked when I first built this drone.
2) I never stabilize my freestyle footage unless it's for demonstration purposes and if so I will clearly state it.
@@MurdersFPV I thought the O3 had inbuilt image stabilization?
What nd filters do you use?
www.freewellgear.com/dji-avata-nd-filters/991-dji-avata-filters-standard-day-4pack.html
Nice flight. What flight times are you getting with 380mah 6s?
3-4 minutes of pushing it. 4-6 minutes of just cruising.
Would you still recommend all the components of this build today or there is anything you think is better? I bought the O3, frame and motors already, about to buy the stack and batteries.
Sorry, I haven’t bought the motors yet. Thank you for all the knowledge you share with us.
@@eric83042 I would still recommend them. Great products, imo.
@@MurdersFPV Thank you so much, I will buy everything right now. I wish the "Djinn F25 Split" was available so I wouldn't have the props in view but well. Thank you for taking of your time to answer. I still can't belive you have been flying for such a short time and fly like that!
Nice little ripper!
Great video! I like the built. Ordering parts now. Would you say 1604 motors are perfect or a little bigger would be appropriate as well?
The hole is 25mm / 25.5mm ?
I believe the spacing is 25.5mm to be exact. Same as with Walksnail.
@@MurdersFPV oke thank you sir
GNB lipo packs have swollen on me very fast😂
3 or 3.5" is ALOT of fun
Whats the measured width of that ND? I'm a little worried they wont fit between my standoffs lol
It's the full 20mm basically.
Honestly dude I've been really hearing about these quadmula frames and I'm def thinking of giving these a try for sure esepcially with the new o3
Perfect . I added the vtx option for O3. Appreciate of ur advice and comments.
@@steigensonne no problem. Happy flying, bro.
how does adding an ND filter affect your sight in goggles?
Did you lock iso and shutter?
D cinelike and colourgraded?
The ND does make it a little darker but I find using an ND8 or 16 is fine and doesn't affect my vision enough for me to notice.
All camera settings are Auto and this is D-Cinelike with a very mild color grade.
Great flying. Camera still seems a bit dark.
Hi there, nice video, i really like the 3 inch quads and want to build one like yours - sub 250g and with a o3. I would prefer it on 4s, but yours flights really nice on that 6s pack... would be nice if you can make a build video of that quad ❤

Sick flying
This is great. Inpsired me to build one too.
May I ask:
Does that frame also fit analog VTX? (the Quadmula site has no analog options)
Why not use an AIO FC/ESC? Thanks
It can fit any VTX that I know of and I really wanted a full featured stack with a BLHeli_32 ESC.
What is the soundtrack name?
ua-cam.com/video/99R_885reWo/v-deo.html
Odesza 🔥
Thanks!
Would a aio board fit in this frame?
As long as it's 20x20
top notch, I wanna!!! 🚀
What was the weight without batteries?
About 176g
Why using 6s vs 4s on 3 inch ?
This was honestly my first 3" drone and when I built it my mindset was like "I want more power" 😜
I flew a friend's 4s 3" and it wasn't really impressive so I decided on 6s and it ended up being pretty incredible.
Would you still say this is the best 3 - 3.5inch freestyle?
@@ST-online for sub 250, absolutely.
@@MurdersFPV what about over 250 what would you recommend
@ST-online if you're really adding on weight, all 3-3.5" frames are going to start breaking much faster. Especially if you plan on bashing it. I'd probably recommend a Grinderino or Tanq S if you intend to fly a smaller quad and still bash it around. This Quadmula frame will do great up to 300-350g. After that, you'll start breaking arms in hard crashes.
@MurdersFPV thanks for the reply after looking around online I figured those were the best options for bashing just needed a second opinion, trying to get my hands on a bnf tanq s but seems like I'll have to build it!
