Yeah your guild doesn't seem to be a good fit. First shaman meeting we had, I as CL said if any of you want to stay ele/resto or enh/resto go ahead, as long as we have one deep resto per raid
I started as resto at low gear levels for progression, but once I was basically full pre-bis + an epic or two I switched back. Being resto helped when people were still gearing, now I can do Scholo/strat/ubrs and help DPS while main healing, and am still a top 3 healing during raid nights. I'd say once you hit the 225+healing and 25mp5 levels, you really don't need to be full resto for anything currently. Phase 3 I'm gunna switch back for the first few weeks just to help progression, then back to ele to enjoy the rest of the game, same thing for AQ40.
Yeah join a more noob-friendly guild, it's true what they say about lower dps compared to other classes and that it would be more beneficial to get a resto-shaman or a good dps-class into the raidslot instead of an inferior DD. There are also pugs going to MC so just play as you want obviously
Lol the same people who talk shit about shamans and paladins are the ones who play the easy mode classes rogues and mages, they dont wanna put the work in .
Btw, there is a closely related build which was my staple in vanilla before the class patch, and its 21 ele 30 resto, only foregoing mana tide totem, which often was not a big deal. Sadly, that build got less viable after the class patch, due to how many good resto talents got introduced that really made a difference to your raiding performance.
This is my current spec and I love it man it's a lot of fun! I heal our three tanks and give them strg/wf/fire resist but also blow people up in pvp. This is a great spec to get you into the raid and get the gear you need to do dmg outside of raid
Liked the video and subbed :) I was wondering if you had (sorry if I missed it) a gearing guide for Elemental in the works? I played Resto/Ele in classic and this video made me want to play that spec/combo again!
Hi Melderon. Nice video! Will definitely check this spec out. On another note, do you have your addon pack available for us that follow you? I really like that whisper-addon popping up and the unitframes, and the dmg over target-font. Mind sharing that addon folder of yours? Great content, keep it up.
my experience with Fire Nova totem tells me that you need to tag the mobs first and it will be fine, magma totem never pulled mobs unless they weren't tagged as well.
At 53/54 I switched from Elemental to full Resto to get in DM groups as healer. I tried healing as Ele but it just didn't cut it. Maybe at 60 this is viable but until then Resto is key
One thing you didnt talk about that I have found with this spec, run Flametongue and melee in dungeons! I do so much dmg with just melee and flametongue. I normally do 3 LB 1 CL 1 FS then melee and still top the charts.
Enhance is fun when it procs, you need a lot of crit to make it work and you can get kitted. Elemental just blows ppl out the water, they have a hard time reacting to the huge burst.
"Fun when it procs" sums it up good, however it still isn't a good spec for pvp or pve. My former shaman had the fortune of getting Sulfuras, and even outside the occasional oneshot (which happens far less frequent than people think), the spec just wasnt worth staying in over a semi decently geared ele/resto. Ele/resto is just so much better for pvp (and as a bonus - pve healing).
5 years later but why do you not take elemental mastery? I plan on using this build at 60 in the anniversary servers but I also plan on doing more wpvp and dungeon healing.
@@shiinkiicker you can totally do that but this video was for Shaman that still needed to heal in raids and nature's swiftness is required in my opinion for healing in case someone is close to dying and losing buffs. If you don't need to worry about that, then by all means, do 31/0/20 (elemental mastery). With dual spec in the game now though, this video is kind of moot.
@ it’s still super informative. I started playing classic about 5 months ago and then jumped into the anniversary servers on launch and haven’t turned back to retail since. It’s been such a good experience thanks to your videos.
Absolutely it is. Shamans depend more on their gear than on their spec for healing (NOT early on in MC though!), which you will probably notice when you get decked out in BiS pieces from BWL. At that point you can basically be a decent healer with 0 points in resto even.
When do you add the healing? I am leveling with a buddy and want to be like a healer in lower end dungeons also so how should I build this to be an effective healer for lower end till max level?
awesome video, I got a question - When you said you wouldn't be able to tank heal, is that only applicable in a raid setting? Would you be able to heal 5 mans with 30/0/21?
I was trying to mess around with the calculator to fit in Mana Tide totem but it sacrifices a lot of burst/crit from ele. When healing raids with this build, is mana an issue since you don't get Mana Tide?
Elemental shaman is way more fun than enhancement imo. I play this ele build until 60 ... But what then? Should I respec to resto or should I stick with it? Does the mobs in raids in classic wow have a lot of nature resistance? I know about the spell penetration gear from later phases, but what about raiding as a elemental shaman in MC?
I played this spec on a private server and I loved it. Wouldnt spec to it until around lvl 50 and a good amount of quest gear rewards exist up to that point so its not hard to get early gear if you save it. But how often does your eye of the storm skill proc? When I played this spec I would hardly ever or never see it proc and I would have 2 or 3 mobs banging on me and cause push back continuously.
I woudn't work so well since those specs need different stats. With ele/resto you can just get int/spr/stam gear with dmg and healing increase option which can be used for both trees
Dubi Dubs Figures. My main dungeon group has all casters so instead of fighting with them for pieces of loot was wondering if grabbing all the enhance stuff could make me 80% as affective at farming. I could get all the +healing I want and leave the spell damage to the mages and warlocks I roll with.
What do you think of taking points out of Improved Reincarnation and Totemic Mastery (In case you have 3/8 T1 Earthfury) and using those points in Ancestral Healing in order to be more effective at tank healing? Also where are you farming??? Share the shaman secrets plzzz
Love this video bro, someone recommended me this as I just went deep restro and I can't do anything good other than healing in raids, I want to farm gold and stuff and going deep restro was a down side, what would be your single target rotation?
Can u run dire maul as a ele dps or are there just too many mobs that are nature immune? I'm very much debating on swapping my enhancement spec for ele resto, I love both specs but there are just so many benefits like u said with this spec that u don't have to keep swapping talents around.
Mate this is awesome. I was raidlead in an alliance guild tanking etc. and everyday it frustrated me more and more to be forced in one role again and again. Even with fury prot having its fun. I admit it. But fury/prot in pvp is big donkeydoodoo. I just wanted something new and the first 15 level of shaman is just ALL OF THE FUN. Watching some of your videos but this here sounds like an awesome idea! Really looking forward to test this. Can you already go in it with level 40 when you respec from enhance?
for thoses who don't understand why elesham isn't considered "viable", AQ is to elesham, what MC is to fire mage, 0damageland, plus, eleshams have big numbers directly on spells, making them effective in early, but mages and warlocks will get ahead more and more every phase. So... they can't really dps on t2,5, they are behind at dps on t3, and a healer can easely do what you expect from a shaman... using totems, so yea, no reason to invest gear on a eleshaman even right now, where it can pull out good numbers, because you will also need to give him healing gear for AQ and everything, it's just better to invest on mage/warlock. But yea, it can dps really good rn, and it's amazing for pvp.
Hi may i ask you something ? im playing PVE Enhancement shaman, (%80 bis gear) im using Storm strike - Elemental Dev - Elemental Focus - WF Spam rank 1 ES until clearcasting, use proper shock to make sustain until the end of fight. (Totem Twisting as long as i can between Rank1 WF T and Grace air 3) what if i drop SS and go for Elemental Fury ? will it be better choice ? or can you show me a better way in details?
You might wanna consider switching r1 ES to r1 Frost shock. FrS costs a tad more mana, but you can sustain it with consumables. The main advantage of FrS over ES is that FrS doesnt get resisted as much (due to high NR values in MC on the bosses), which makes the proc fishing more efficient. Also use max rank FrS if you do get the proc, for the same reason. FrS also doesnt give you extra threat, so there's that.
@@samuelhakansson6680 ty for answer i will definately try this r1 es to r1 frs. by the way i tried to drop SS and get Elemental Fury.. it didnt go well.. tons of resist on spells also had %5-8 spell crit, didnt get benefit at all.. still im thinking about, when im low on mana like (0-100) if i spam ES or FRS to get chance to clearcast or crit to pop elemental dev. i wont gain any mana at all (5 sec rule) just desperately spaming to get proc. or i can wait for 10-15 sec and get 200-300 mana so i can make more totem twists? wich one is logical? also it can lead to drop full elemental side to get resto wich will reduce totem cost also hit so can use different gear ?
@@temercesmacrohouse There isn't a clear answer to this question, and it mostly boils down to two competing goals. First of all, ask yourself - do you want to do more dps yourself, or do about the same dps and also help the raid? If the answer to the first question is yes, you should go slightly in to elemental but look into changing your spec. If you answered yes to the other question, you should go slightly into the resto tree and also look into changing your spec. Also, do you totem twist near 100%, or only occasionally? If yes, dipping into the resto tree is great. Regarding elemental enhancement build: Elemental fury is pretty bad, considering that you have almost no spell crit to begin with as enhancement. Most likely you are rocking about 5% spell crit, which very roughly calculated gives you less than 0,5% dps increase overall (since the shock part of your overall dps is low, and the shock crit part even less so). For 5 talent points that deep into the ele tree, the choice can't be justified from a pure dps standpoint. The ele tree is deceptive in that it often LOOKS like it's good for enhancement dps, but it isn't. Elemental devastation is also a pretty bad talent when you actually get down to it. Since you will mostly be running with around 5% spell crit in raids, you will hardly ever get a proc out of it that noticeably affects your ability to get flurry procs and thus more raw swing/WF damage. It's not that it doesn't help, but it doesn't really help your dps for the amount of talents that you have to "waste" getting to it. This means that you should limit your dip into the ele tree, to only containing the first two talents (reducing mana cost and increasing shock damage), and finish off with Elemental Focus for clearcasting fishing. With the remaining talents, spec into the resto tree for 4/5 Totemic Focus (for reasons I list below). Rergarding the resto enhancement build: The 3% hit you can pick up from the resto tree is a really strong talent, in that it equates to more than a 3% dps increase for you, and it only costs 3 talent points and is very high in the resto tree, meaning you have more free talent points to spend elsewhere. This is because 3% hit applies to both melee and spell hit (netting you about 3% more dps), and enables the "crit > flurry > more WF procs > more crits > more flurry etc" feedback loop to work more often (netting slightly even more dps). It also lets you get hit capped easier, which can let you drop some hit pieces for even more raw dps pieces, giving more dps again. I would estimate roughly that this talent would net you a 5 - 6% dps increase alone, depending on your choice of gear. A bigger benefit of running resto for enhancement is that you get access to Totemic Focus, reducing your totem twisting cost by 25%. Since totem twisting is one of your mana hogs, prioritize that. It indirectly also helps your dps since it help you afford casting more shocks (or higher ranked shocks) through the mana you save from twisting. Out of these two builds, I strongly recommend the resto enhancement build, getting you 3% hit and totemic focus. You will hardly notice a difference in dps, but you will have far less mana issues and more flexibility to gear differently when an upgrade drops.
@@temercesmacrohouse I should also add that I did in fact have a BiS shaman once with Sulfuras (BiS for BWL phase). Even if you get Sulfuras, be prepared that your dps will be bad if you are trying to compete and min max. With Sulfuras, a decent rotation and all the necessary raid buffs, I was still struggling to break 300 dps on longer fights. This is just how enh shamans work unfortunately, and is another reason why the resto/enh spec works so well. You wont really notice any difference in personal dps, but you will have far less issues supporting your group through totem twisting. You wont be able to fish for clearcasting, but over time you save more mana from twisting than you would save mana from clearcasting procs. The ele/enh build is something like this: classic.wowhead.com/talent-calc/shaman/520031-5025002105023051-05004 The resto/enh build is something like this: classic.wowhead.com/talent-calc/shaman/52-5025002105023051-050053

@@DefcampMelderonTV Running into the same issue! I've been leveling with the mindset of being ENH and my guild wants me to switch to heal for raids AS SOON AS IM GETTING TO 55 D: But this build may be the mutual line that I can settle for!
Enhance is garbage. TBC it becomes beautiful. Ss baby. I play shammy to cast in classic
I love the way it looks man. but i have one question wich equipement will be the best for this spec?
u'll go for both ele and resto and changing it or what?
Been running this build, and I am a juggernaut, even when caught off guard with healing gear I can outduel even 2v1 against many classes. Only hunters give me a real issue. This build is INSANE
fkn hunters hey
That's really weird that you would struggle with Hunters, as I am a former rank 1 Hunter player and could literally own anybody 1v1 in classic, except hybrid Resto/elem Shamans :D Like they were literally the hardest class to beat 1v1, but this was later on when gear when people were aq40/naxx geared, these hybrid resto/ele Shaman specs start to get absolutely insane.
@@magnontaur For me the pet gives me so much trouble. A little overwhelming. Hunter pets are a lot more intrusive than warlock pets.
The way like a tiger pet interrupts spell casts can really benefit the hunter, and if you get hit by trap you kinda auto lose lol
@@magnontaur yeah seems likely if they were duels and shaman is prepared and geared for it, but out in the open world PvP nothing is worse than being ganked by a hunter currently. Even with extra range on my spells instead of the fire totem perk, the kiting is too insane. Only decent way to deal would be invulnerability pots
nice video.... i been kind of put off playing my enhancement shaman since i reached 60 and have rolled a warrior, might give this a look for a change.
Such a world of difference

Can you drop a healing guide for this tree? Thanks for all the great insights
Which addons do you use (and versions) for totems bar, debuffs up to mob, group frames and lightning shield remember? Nice video btw ;-)
I'll do an add-on video next
Was gonna ask for the group/raid frames with incoming heals, as I love that for healing. Will be great to see you walk through those addons :)
As an elemental shaman, I've literally been denied invite into guilds because I'm not resto. They said they might consider enhancement shamans, but they prefer warriors or rogues for that roll.
And as an elemental shaman I'd be lower dps and less useful than a Warlock or mage.
He said, I'm like a moonkin druid.... so insulted.
I took up herb and alchemy to keep myself up with potions and buffs.
They said they might consider me after BWL is finished. So sad.
Guess I'll just roll a mage or rogue...
Nah fuck that! World PvP deleting gnomes with lighting bolt, NS chain lighting earth shock!
imo find a new guild
Thuran dumb spec
Jay Sintonus dumb comment because you gave no explanation why it was a dumb spec, so we can only assume you either are right or wrong about it.
Guys I found a way to get 20,000 gold in no time.Check out this ink bit.ly/363U8Ma. let me know what you think. thanks
I was thinking of going ele/resto for instance running.
Worth it. I am only 51 right now due to world pvp ganking has been intense this last two weeks.
Would you level up with this build? Or respec at 60.
You can farm the start of DMNorth, (first boss and dogs) it gives OK gpm when paired with Skinning :)
Next video will be add-ons. Likely this weekend
@@DefcampMelderonTV Nice! Can't wait! 👍
my experience with Fire Nova totem tells me that you need to tag the mobs first and it will be fine, magma totem never pulled mobs unless they weren't tagged as well.
Enjoyed the video! Nice build.
Is there a build you've found for shamans to be good tanks?
Check out my shaman tanking guide
How about healing dungeons like Scholo, Strat or UBRS/LBRS?
I healed with this build in dungeons and raids, it worked damn good.
At 53/54 I switched from Elemental to full Resto to get in DM groups as healer. I tried healing as Ele but it just didn't cut it. Maybe at 60 this is viable but until then Resto is key
Yeah once you get gear, you can totally heal as this build
One thing you didnt talk about that I have found with this spec, run Flametongue and melee in dungeons! I do so much dmg with just melee and flametongue. I normally do 3 LB 1 CL 1 FS then melee and still top the charts.
Tyler Beaty that’s in interesting point. I assume you have high spellpower? And use a fast dagger. You think it will outperform rockbiter in leveling?
Enhance is fun when it procs, you need a lot of crit to make it work and you can get kitted. Elemental just blows ppl out the water, they have a hard time reacting to the huge burst.
"Fun when it procs" sums it up good, however it still isn't a good spec for pvp or pve. My former shaman had the fortune of getting Sulfuras, and even outside the occasional oneshot (which happens far less frequent than people think), the spec just wasnt worth staying in over a semi decently geared ele/resto. Ele/resto is just so much better for pvp (and as a bonus - pve healing).
@@samuelhakansson6680 100% agree
So for this build how are you gearing? Do you avoid the +healing items, and just focus on spellpower exclusively? What about +spellhit items?
You gather two sets.
It’s been such a good experience thanks to your videos.
it would have been nice if you went over the talent tree
Hey mate, awesome video! How's Ele/Resto Mana in BGS? Do you go OOM fast like shadow priest?
Dont oom fast in PvP
Hey! Is it possiple to heal on dungs with this spec on late game? Keep up the good work^^
It is for sure. However, it's more gear dependent than full resto. So I'd wait until you get your hands on some good gear before switching 😉
I've been 30/0/21 the moment I hit 60 and I raid MC and Onyxia weekly. I'm either on par or not too far off the deep resto shamans. It's fantastic
Absolutely it is. Shamans depend more on their gear than on their spec for healing (NOT early on in MC though!), which you will probably notice when you get decked out in BiS pieces from BWL. At that point you can basically be a decent healer with 0 points in resto even.
It’s like the HotW build for shamans, woo hoo! Hybrids are so awesome!
Thank you, I rewatched your other resto only guide but I think this is more for me. Would you go down elemental or resto first while leveling?
O.o i never knew natures swiftness could be used for offensive spells omg
Oh yes!
Thanks for the video!
I really like your UI, can you please tell what add-ons are you using for that?
When do you add the healing? I am leveling with a buddy and want to be like a healer in lower end dungeons also so how should I build this to be an effective healer for lower end till max level?
Gonna be using this on SoM😈
awesome video, I got a question - When you said you wouldn't be able to tank heal, is that only applicable in a raid setting? Would you be able to heal 5 mans with 30/0/21?
Yes, you can heal dungeons totally fine
do u have items with +heal and +spell dmg or do u switch gear?
Switch for the role. I have a plus healing set for healing and plus damage for DPS
this is kinda like druid going 24/0/27 or 0/30/21
lets you heal dps and pvp, or heal tank(or dps) and pvp

same with lvl 51
Fuck yeah new vid
Hey, great video. what add-ons you are using? thanks
In phase 1, MC, there really isn't much NR. It depends on what your guild needs. Of they don't need another full resto shaman, go ele
I'd say procs at least once per pull with multiple mobs
@@DefcampMelderonTV awesome thanks! Better odds than I have had.
Thanks m8
What addon do you use to show debuffs on top of the enemy nameplates?
Is there an equivalent type build for enhance/resto?
You can do the same talents in resto and go down to SS in enhancement. Although it's not as effective at DPS and farming
Can you please Do Research and a Video about this proximity threat Thing
This is what i used back in og vanilla. Was able to pvp and heal in pve np
What do you think of taking points out of Improved Reincarnation and Totemic Mastery (In case you have 3/8 T1 Earthfury) and using those points in Ancestral Healing in order to be more effective at tank healing?
Also where are you farming??? Share the shaman secrets plzzz
Yeah that works
Felwood, aszhara. Frostadamus knows that stuff. I usually make money in dungeons
Is this build good for leveling as well?
played with an elemental shaman in stratholme, his dps was nuts! and he didn't have any epics items either :P
They do have amazing damage. Unless the fight is longer than 30 seconds or so, then theyre pretty bad lol. This video is a bit misleading
Love this video bro, someone recommended me this as I just went deep restro and I can't do anything good other than healing in raids, I want to farm gold and stuff and going deep restro was a down side, what would be your single target rotation?
Hi ! what is the shield you're using ? he looks so cool !
Hello. Tell me pls is this a healbot addon? If so, can you please send an screenshot of your settings? It looks amazing!
Shammy the multi-tool of classic WOW
Wow ur addons rocks, can u write what u use? I like The bar with dots over The mobs
Can you already go in it with level 40 when you respec from enhance?
huge fan of your vids man. love me shaman life.
for thoses who don't understand why elesham isn't considered "viable", AQ is to elesham, what MC is to fire mage, 0damageland, plus, eleshams have big numbers directly on spells, making them effective in early, but mages and warlocks will get ahead more and more every phase.
So... they can't really dps on t2,5, they are behind at dps on t3, and a healer can easely do what you expect from a shaman... using totems, so yea, no reason to invest gear on a eleshaman even right now, where it can pull out good numbers, because you will also need to give him healing gear for AQ and everything, it's just better to invest on mage/warlock.
But yea, it can dps really good rn, and it's amazing for pvp.
Hi may i ask you something ? im playing PVE Enhancement shaman, (%80 bis gear)
im using
Storm strike - Elemental Dev - Elemental Focus - WF
Spam rank 1 ES until clearcasting, use proper shock to make sustain until the end of fight. (Totem Twisting as long as i can between Rank1 WF T and Grace air 3)
what if i drop SS and go for Elemental Fury ? will it be better choice ? or can you show me a better way in details?
You might wanna consider switching r1 ES to r1 Frost shock. FrS costs a tad more mana, but you can sustain it with consumables. The main advantage of FrS over ES is that FrS doesnt get resisted as much (due to high NR values in MC on the bosses), which makes the proc fishing more efficient. Also use max rank FrS if you do get the proc, for the same reason. FrS also doesnt give you extra threat, so there's that.
@@samuelhakansson6680 ty for answer i will definately try this r1 es to r1 frs. by the way i tried to drop SS and get Elemental Fury.. it didnt go well.. tons of resist on spells also had %5-8 spell crit, didnt get benefit at all.. still im thinking about,
when im low on mana like (0-100) if i spam ES or FRS to get chance to clearcast or crit to pop elemental dev. i wont gain any mana at all (5 sec rule) just desperately spaming to get proc. or i can wait for 10-15 sec and get 200-300 mana so i can make more totem twists? wich one is logical? also it can lead to drop full elemental side to get resto wich will reduce totem cost also hit so can use different gear ?
@@temercesmacrohouse There isn't a clear answer to this question, and it mostly boils down to two competing goals. First of all, ask yourself - do you want to do more dps yourself, or do about the same dps and also help the raid? If the answer to the first question is yes, you should go slightly in to elemental but look into changing your spec. If you answered yes to the other question, you should go slightly into the resto tree and also look into changing your spec. Also, do you totem twist near 100%, or only occasionally? If yes, dipping into the resto tree is great.
Regarding elemental enhancement build:
Elemental fury is pretty bad, considering that you have almost no spell crit to begin with as enhancement.
Rergarding the resto enhancement build:
The 3% hit you can pick up from the resto tree is a really strong talent, in that it equates to more than a 3% dps increase for you, and it only costs 3 talent points and is very high in the resto tree, meaning you have more free talent points to spend elsewhere.
The ele/enh build is something like this:
classic.wowhead.com/talent-calc/shaman/520031-5025002105023051-05004
The resto/enh build is something like this:
