    Recently diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, my heel is killing me and my boots hurt like hell. I will look into insoles now.

    Hard leather insole works onlybif the fit is perfect. Any wiggle room with the foot and the imprint does not set right.

    Great video my friend. Will definitely help out a lot of new boot wearers. Great footage no pun intended 🤣. Can’t say Ive seen a video this in depth regarding insoles. Its super important to my decision when buying a boot. Definitely my favorite as of now is the traditional hard leather insole. About to try out the Chisos though.

      @@JeremiahCraig Overall how would you compare traditional hard insoles to Chisos? I'm trying to decide between Lucchese ropers with a hard insole or Chisos ropers with their unique insert.

    Great lesson here! Thanks for doing this video. Gotta love the hard leather. The older I get though, the more my feet like a light cushioned insole like the 1883 Lucchese has in various models.

    I have a few pairs of Tecovas and I use the Full Grain Leather insoles from RedWings. They work great - not too think not too thick.

    Awesome video! I absolutely love the traditional hard leather insole! Especially Tony Lama and Boulet. I like Justin’s but for some reason all of their hard leather insoles hurt my heel😂

      I hear that! The hard leather is not for everyone and some brands definitely do it better which is why its great that there are so many brands doing different things!

    Great video regarding the different types of insoles. Very beneficial for new boot wears as well as for boot wears that really never cared about or took the time to learn about the kinds of insoles in their boots. There are so many marketing terms used to describe the insoles that it can become confusing or overwhelming. It is definitely an important part of the decision making process when purchasing boots. Well done again Jeremiah!!!! BTW what happened to your Endoscope?? It could have been helpful to use for making this video!

    I am a fan of the traditional leather inner sole, in my boots. Though I do have some nice modern insoles in my hiking boots.
    The only downside I find from the hard leather insoles is that they can be cold as there isn't much thermal insulation.

    • @JeremiahCraig
      @JeremiahCraig  3 роки тому

      That's a good point. There is very little insulation in the boots with hard leather insoles!

    Leather insoles all the way, I like the leather insoles with cork bed lining under the leather, but as long as its leather and the boot fits, ill like it lol. I like getting ariat insoles for boots that are slightly too big. great video with a unique topic, don't see too many videos on the differences on insoles!

    In my Tecovas Nolan midnight lizards, there is a strange uneven lump in the center of the forefoot in the left boot that caused some pain. When I look with a flashlight and feel around with my hand in the right boot (the same spot), this lump isn't there and it's completely flat. I guess it's a factory defect. However, after trying to push that lump down with some tools, as well as daily wear, it started to flatten little by little.

    I just got a pair of fryes not too long ago. They are a little overpriced but the quality and feel is just amazing! Would you recommend getting a cork/leather combo insole for them?

    • @JeremiahCraig
      @JeremiahCraig  3 роки тому

      If you feel like the fit will be better with those extra insoles, sure! I have a pair of Frye Roper boots and I don't need the extra cork leather insole.

    On the Chisos insoles, I wonder how long it takes the foam part of the insole to bottom out where the boot becomes a bit loose.

    What do you think about the dingo boot brand?
    Do you recommend baby powder to maybe cut down on smell? If not what do you think would work best?
    I'm looking to get my first pair of boots so as of now I'm not 100% what I want/ like. So really any tips would work great, thanks

    • @JeremiahCraig
      @JeremiahCraig  3 роки тому +1

      Dingo is a cheaper brand who cuts corners in production. Most factory boots will cut some corners but you get what you pay for most times. Many Dingos have a cloth lining inside the boot which will cause them to smell a little more than boots with a leather lining. Leather lining breathes more and has more anti microbial features so you might not need powder depending on your body type. I would recommend getting a boot with a goodyear welt and leather lining so you get the most for your money!

    I have a question?? And if you can do the review I would very much appreciate it!!! But if you can’t get to it man I understand. But there’s a brand of boots that I’ve never tried and they have really good reviews but aren’t popular like lucchese, boulet or Rios. The brand is capitans, they’re cheap for the exotic leather and they’re handmade. If you could get the “lampasas or sweetwaters” since they’re elephant I would very much appreciate it and I’ll subscribe and like sir. Thank you have an amazing day.

      They run $650 which is amazing for exotics for the average day person.
