In this video, we give this pair of Justin cowboy boots a makeover. These boots were completely worn out and destined for the trash. We decided to do whatever we could to refurbish them, and that's what we did. With new JR leather soles, some Saphir conditioner and Pommadier cream added to the uppers, this pair ended up looking...new!

These are my dads boots, he originally bought them around 2006 as a dress boot and then started wearing them for every day use. He works as a machinist and wore them for several years. His intention was to just throw them away instead of repairing them because they were cheap, but I held onto them when he threw them out…
a lot of people suggested that it’s from a motorcycle but surprisingly he’s not a motorcycle rider. My guess is that they got a lot of miles on them from walking on the shop floor
You guys did an amazing job on these thank you so much. In the future the boots will be in your shop for regular maintenance to avoid this…..

I was thinking he rode a motorcycle and always put his left foot down, as the right shoe sole wasn't worn nearly as badly, but you would definitely know. I wonder if he worked some sort of pedal with his left foot? When my father died in 1983, I kept and wore one of his pair of dress shoes for many years. Too bad there was no internet and Trenton & Heath back then, or I'd have sent them in to make them like new again. Great job on the restoration, guys.

What did your dad think of the repair?

    • @chriswillman5829
      @chriswillman5829 2 роки тому +11

@@chrishebert5672 I bet it could have been a machine like a lathe with a pedal that caused the wear so intensely. My other guess is the clutch pedal on the manual vehicles we had but I’m not sure that’d be aggressive enough to cause the wear..
I know he replaced them instead of repairing them because of how bad they were and I kept them because I thought they were cool…. After the hard work of the guys my dad is amazed at how the boots turned out and will wear them as a dress boot im sure

@@thedoor5442 My dad is really shocked and amazed at how they came out. It is crazy to see the difference. Trenton and heath did some great work on these. I’m sure they will become his favorite pair of boots again, this time receiving some care..

They did an amazing job. The uppers looked a lot better quality than the insole, sole, and heel so with the much higher quality of those parts, those boots should last for a long time to come.

I was hoping to bring a pair of thursday boot explorers into a cobbler at some point to see if they could change it to EE, since I am always stepping on the storm welt, and I don't know if it would be worth doing something like that, since they cost $250 and something like that could cost more.

He went to pick her up in the rain, but before he could get to the station in his pickup truck, his brakes went out so through open door his cowboy boot he stuck to stop his truck before get runned over by a dang ole train!! Now he told his old lady he didn't mind hanging around as long as she'd let him, but he did mind, with a big ole hole in his cowboy boot, standing in the rain! Now, this was awesome. The before and after on these boots is just incredible. Replacing as much as you did, but still saving the uppers, was really impressive; you preserved the "showy" part and rebuilt the hard-working part completely. This actually saved these boots when some would have just tossed them and bought a new pair. This was great! Cheers from Texas!

I watch a lot of these boot cleaning/rebuilding channels and one day I realized my Walmart brand dress shoes insole was just beat up. Instead of buying a new insole from Walmart. I decided to use cork, I had a cork board for like pins and stuff. I cut out a foot shape and made it my insole I thought for sure this was silly as that is not where the cork goes. Well, been a couple months, the cheap board molded to my feet and it unironically feels better than the stuff form Walmart. Now it comes with drawbacks, not something I would use in my tennis shoes, lol. But for these flat dress shoes? Yeah!

He used two knives a lot one was a straight blade , tanto style, he would strop that thing after each use and his other was a 4” straight blade with a 1/4 “ razor sharp hook on the end. I think he used that to cut the stitches very close to the welt. Anyway. I watch every minute of your videos. Thank you

I know the back story... I have had this exact thing happen to me, just not quite so SEVERE. This guy is a truck driver. This is why the boots are extremely well worn but not too dirty. It's also why his clutch foot is all worn out, most old school boot wearing truck drivers all drive "standard" shift trucks and they all wear cowboy boots for some reason. He doesn't do much walking. Maybe a few trips to a rest stop bathroom. Other than that, they are probably comfy for just sitting in your cab driving truck all day, not getting dirty while still wearing out your boots. That's my prediction anyway... 👍

What had happened was, The devil went down to Georgia, he was lookin' for a soul to steal
He was in a bind 'cause he was way behind
And he was willin' to make a deal
When he came across this young man sawin' on a fiddle and playin' it hot
And the devil jumped up on a hickory stump
And said, "boy, let me tell you what"
"I guess you didn't know it but I'm a fiddle player too
And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you
Now you play a pretty good fiddle, boy
But give the devil his due
I'll bet a fiddle of gold against your soul
'Cause I think I'm better than you"
The boy said, "my name's Johnny and it might be a sin
But I'll take your bet, you're gonna regret
'Cause I'm the best there's ever been"
Johnny, rosin up your bow and play your fiddle hard
'Cause Hell's broke loose in Georgia, and the devil deals the cards
And if you win, you get this shiny fiddle made of gold
But if you lose, the devil gets your soul
The devil opened up his case and he said, "I'll start this show"
And fire flew from his fingertips as he rosined up his bow
And he pulled the bow across the strings
And it made a evil hiss
Then a band of demons joined in
And it sounded something like this
When the devil finished, Johnny said, "well, you're pretty good, ol' son
But sit down in that chair right there
And let me show you how it's done"
"Fire on the Mountain" run boys, run
The devil's in the House of the Rising Sun
Chicken in a bread pan pickin' out dough
Granny, does your dog bite? No, child, no
The devil bowed his head because he knew that he'd been beat
And he laid that golden fiddle on the ground at Johnny's feet
Johnny said, "Devil, just come on back if you ever wanna try again
I done told you once you son of a bitch, I'm the best that's ever been"
So anyway, the Devil was wearing these boots, and he went down to Georgia by way of California, and took a wrong turn in Albuquerque.

I didn't have any money but he gave me a pair of sneakers while he worked on my shoes. I was working just around the corner from his shop and he got them fixed after a few days and he sent the manufacturer pictures of my shoes with all the mistakes in them. He found that they didn't even have padding of any kind and no shanks, They paid for the corrective work and sent me a new pair through his shop. This was back when I wore a shirt and tie, with dress shoes and I got some weird looks because I had my dress shirt, tie and sneakers back in 89-90. Now it's the norm.

Excellent video. I recently located, via thrifting, a great pair of vintage boots that need some major attention. They aren't as rough as the pair in the video, but they definitely need some work. I'm definitely going to reach out to you gentlemen for more information.

Clint Eastwood wore these while filming The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. The holes came from the desert crossing in the movie.

Hot dang. Those came out better than my well enough taken care of Abilene boots! That reminds me, it’s conditioning day.

I will guess the back-story on these boots. These boots are or were dress boots, used for a daily work boot. The part where you know you have a hole and wear them anyway? No comment. It would contain words my Momma would not like being used.

What a cute cobbler couple - definitely can picture you two watching British Baking Show together

  • @АлександрПоцелуйко-к6в

Это неправильная реставрация. Правильная была показана в фильме "Харли Дэвидсон и Мальборо": он просто замотал дыру на сапоге скотчем и весь фильм так и ходил. 😃

Lots of motorcyclists don't know how to ride very well and drag their feet along instead of putting them on their pegs. Maybe.

My thought of the story of those boots is He/She Roped and 10,000 pound long horn and while digging the footing it took off dragging the person for 1k miles before they were able to wrestle it into submission😉

Amazing! In my next life I'll be a cobbler. What was that long tube you dropped a nail into and then pounded the inside of the boot??

Those were worn by "Boots" for a full season of Dora the Explorer. It's pretty amazing how that many miles will wear on a boot.
