I grew up with the DS and I loved it, it was perfect. I got a 3DS late 2016 but only recently started using it because I lost the charger and forgot about it. I love how it works with the old DS games. The perfect handheld console imo
Exactly! I forgot how easy it is to pause a game and flip your DS closed when you need to be done. I'm so used to playing games that can't be paused and its so refreshing. Thanks for your comment!
@@joetalks. yea! The pausing is amazing, makes it being an on the go device so much better. The size is perfect, easily put it in a pocket or bag, the games are small enough too you can take a few with you. Only thing is the 3D feature isnt the best, but cool idea
@@JustDoom i still find myself using 3D when I'm playing MarioKart7 or Kid Icarus. Like I said in the vid, Kid Icarus specifically uses 3D to enhance the gameplay, lets you read the depth of enemies and obstacles. I'm surprised 3D didn't go far. Imagine playing Insomniac's Spider-Man game in 3D!

So I have 3 “3DS family” systems. One works, one works but doesn’t work properly and powers off when trying to put it in sleep mode or looking at it the wrong way, and one is simply so broken that it’s a glorified paper weight. The one that works gets all of my attention though. This is despite having a Switch Lite and a regular Animal Crossing Switch. I’m so worried that my working 3DS might die or start malfunctioning the other ones because I play way more games on that than on the Switch. There’s just something about 3DS games that make me want to put hours into those games where I just can’t bring myself to finish a lot of games on the Switch.
I would say, like I did in your other comment, look in to this issue. If you find the repair needs parts, check your busted one and apply the parts from that to the half busted one. But yes!! 3DS titles are so good on the go, I've been playing Final Fantasy III for like 3 months now! Thanks so much for your comments! ❤
Quick question: has anyone actually experienced drifting on the Lite model? Because I have a Yellow Switch Lite and I play it more often than my other Switch (AC:NH model) and I haven’t had any problems with drifting. Also was wondering if anyone else has had any issues with a 3DS that turns off when you try to put it in sleep mode. There will be a small “pop” sound and the power shuts off entirely and sometimes it wipes the save data on all of the downloads. The affected 3DS was inherited when my adopted “mama” passed away but has started to not work properly.
While the Switch is amazing, talking strictly portable on the go gaming, 3ds is the king even before factoring custom shenanigans and current eshop state. Love the Switch, but portability is a bit awkward compared to 3ds. And mobile gaming is an odd landscape in general that was never designed for gaming in the first place, or gaming phones are more meant for long term higher end games you probably aren't playing on the go. I still play my 3ds somewhat regularly, and still love the library of games it has whether I'm on the go or at home.
Right! As I said in this vid, I broke mine out and fixed it up, I've been playing nonstop for the last 2 months. Been working on Final Fantasy III, Kid Icarus, and Angry Birds.
Both of my Switches are collecting dust because I have been playing Yo-Kai Watch 2 Fleshy Souls on the 3DS (specifically a “New” model). Been playing it since April 1st and I haven’t removed it from the slot. Here I am a month later and still playing the post game. And before that I was side tracked by trying to grab as many games I could before the death of the eShop. So my Switches (I have two) are collecting dust whilst the New 2DS XL gets all the love and attention.
Oh, hey. I mostly agree with this, but I gotta disagree with the smartphone bit. Smartphones are _AMAZING_ emulation handhelds, especially if your get your hands on a nice telescopic controller.
i still believe hardware wise The psvita is the best console.. literally ever, especialy is you jump over the anti-consumeristic designs. you know the one(s)

The internet capability using a SIM card for mobile data, battery life both when on and off with the possibility of having it still retain data while fully discharged (a full day could pass, but the moment you plug that big Pal in it picks up right where it was), the screen, application, software capability both on official and holebrew variety. Right now is my favorite è book reader since I ate all the library
And of course I'm talking about the way you are forced to use the psn store and account and the stupid stupid memory card that was Hella overpriced. I hated both of them

I feel the 3DS is kinda boring and over rated. Yeah, it has some cool choices but... Mario 3D Land: kinda bleak for a Mario Game. Batman Black Gate: objective garbage that kills you off screen. Pac Man Party: 3DS version sucks. Trash Pack: FRICKING TRASH PACK
I will admit this console was not Mario's finest hour, but I implore you to try out Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, or Kid Icarus: Uprising. Those two games alone solo the games you listed to me.

The 3DS issue you may want to research. I've learned subtle things like that could signal your device needs a repair.
