Would like to see a planer board video! I’m just getting started on this catfishing stuff and I like making my own if Gods will. High five on the videos!
🤣 And some said i was crazy dragging 6 n 8 oz It didnt take us long to realise those lake weights dont work in river current When u start realizing ur dragging them up off bottom to high At .5 mph Cause force / current / float Wont hold it down Many many many cat guys arent realizing Your not on bottom Thnx Now do a vid On showing them on ur boat Ur bait isnt down 😁👍 Thnx for sharing
I really do appreciate it. Yeah I've ran into that several times of my baits floating up. We had to move heavier but couldn't find people that made them so I had to figure it out.
@@mickaburkhart14 I believe a short On how to chk if Ur baits up off bottom While on a drag Would help alota guys out there to see it We share it out just like this vid 😁👊👍 Enjoy ya content Tight lines my friend 👊
What a good, easy way to make those. I couldn't tell if they sealed watertight but a little squirt ofcheap caulking in each end of the tube would give a bit of flotation as well as the ramp effect. Enjoying your channel a lot.😊😊
Thank you. Yeah I've sealed them and not. Haven't seen a difference either way. The plastic seams to be buoyant enough. But sealing it definitely doesn't hurt.
Looking forward to the planer board video You fished a toys for tots tournament last year. Will they have that again this year and if so do you have information on it. I would like to participate Thanks for your time
Micka, What brand of sinker slides do you use to make your dragging weights? I use the Ez sinker slides, and they are green. The ones you were using looked to be black. Thanks
@@joshgilbert9977 😆 i pour alot of lead for jigs weights and all kinds of stuff. I get wheel weights from a local tire shop so I typically have alot of lead to work with.
What size heat shrink did you say you were using? I have some 3/8ths but even with oil the air line would not go in. Thank you and I enjoy all your videos.
Thank you for that. Ok some 3/8 heat shrink are a tad smaller. I ran into that too. But I ordered some off of Amazon and it is just perfect. The brand is called electriduct.
When you get snagged and have to break off, where does the break typically occur? Do you use a lighter line attaching the weight? Also, is it the weight that gets snagged or the hook?
Well typically it will break at the knot on the swivel. On the main line side. I run a polymer knot. With mono line it will cut itself but it takes alot of pressure. But yeah the weight or the swivel gets wedged in things.
Thank you sir, Appreciate you taking the time to answer questions. Does it get that fast on the cumberland at times. This my first summer fishing there. Fast as I've see sovl far was about 1.5mph Thanks again appreciate very much
@@jeffwhiteside1124 yeah it does get that fast on the Cumberland. But I still like to drag regardless lol. And don't have any problems answering questions. I love helping out where I can.
Like them can't wait to see how u make planer boards
Definitely want to see the planer boards please!
Will do. I'll start on that one here soon.

Great video man! I was wondering how you do those. That whole method is pretty interesting. I to want to see your planer vid. 👍

I'm going to look for the material to make some of these .
Yeah it will save you some money for sure.
very good info...thanks
Thank you.
That a great idea brother gonna make me some too
Thank you
Great video. No need to seal the air line? Bring on that planer board video.
No I've tried sealing it and not. Had same results either way. Water gets in it but the plastic is buoyant enough to not make a difference.

Good job buddy, looks like those will perform as good as any
Yeah I've used others that are on the market and they are definitely just as good.
Great video!!
Very nice 👍 good job brother 😅
Thank you
Just curious if you have had the sinker slides pull out of the tubing..? Thanks for the great videos!
No never had that happen. If it does get hung up I lose everything. If I'm lucky I'll come back with the metal clip on the sinker slide.
Looking forward to the planer board video

I use cheap liquid hand soap to make the tubing slide into the heat shrink !
That's another really good idea. Thanks for that.
Solid information.

great video was wanting to make some because you would go broke trying to buy them. What area are you from?
Micka, What brand of sinker slides do you use to make your dragging weights? I use the Ez sinker slides, and they are green. The ones you were using looked to be black. Thanks
They are called Dr. Fish. I found them on Amazon. I get 100 for like 12 bucks or something like that.
Dude! What are all them molds on the wall for? Do you pour your bullets as well!? That’s awesome man! So you melt down lead from scrap or buy clean?

Where can I find the heat shrink around town? Tried Rural King and Lowe’s.

@justdoingitjim7095 absolutely no problem
What is the plastic u put
on top the swivel goes
I think maybe your talking about the 3/8 air line or possibly the sinker slide.
I can throw long distance from beach for dragging weights ?
Yeah I would think so. Seems like it would go further than a regular weight because you could almost whip it out there. But I'm not really sure.
What is the maximum distance of meter to throw from the beach for dragging weights ?
Oh that I don't know. I've never tried to do that I can't say exactly 😕
How much current are you dragging in that you use 8oz. If you don't mind me asking??
Like 2 to 3 mph current roughly. Probably not exact but close.
Thank you sir,

Yeah it does lol.
Why do you go through so many of them?
