    Now, I can use a planer board. I thought it was for Muskie, and as you mentioned, Striper, neither of them are likely in my waters. But Catfish, we got! I'm on Kentucky lake by name, a part where I live is more like a river, and it's actually the Tennessee River. So it's both the Kentucky lake and the Tennessee River. I can now set a planer board out in the current and utilize a spread of hooks over a drop off without having to anchor in deeper water and in the heavier current. Your channel continues to give me new info!
    Now I need to try and make some. Could you go over the quick release? Where to get them. I'm going to review this video about the setup for the line. And how do I retrieve the planer board after it's released?

I had to pick one up for my brother-in-law that has to throw a couple of catfish poles out at night when we go crappie fishing. Can these inline planets be rigged on a planet reel so you can fight the fish without the planet board on your line?
    It’s really hard to find info on using planets this way. Seems everyone uses them inline, but having them not attached to your line seems so much more efficient and versatile.

    I'm wondering about using them in river current to get your bait out farther into the river.

    Never used planer boards, gonna try to make some from your other video. How do you keep your baits on the bottom of the depth is changing? You go from 30 to 15 foot how are you not 15 feet off the bottom? Love your videos. Thanks for sharing the tips.

      If you know the depth will be changing from 15' to 40' . All you need to do is let out 60 or so feet before you attach the planer board

    Hey man, I built a few of these except used plexiglass, and instead of the swivel and clip I bought the actually line clips that come on the planer boards you buy, they swim out and track perfectly, but when the line comes out of the release clip the board dives... Is this why you use a the clip , so the line just slides along it? My thinking was it would just be nice to get the planer board off your main line so you are fighting just the fish and not the planer board as well

      I agree it is a little aggravating to reel in the fish and board

    Someone needs to invent a waterboard that you can steer. Like a remote control waterboard.🤔

      RC motors for such things exist to control rudders on functional model boats. Shouldn’t be too hard to modify

    What happens to the planer board when you catch a fish? Does it slide down to the fish as you reel the fish in?

    • @FishinNStuff
      @FishinNStuff  3 роки тому

      Yes the release clip pops of when you pull on the line too hard and the bottom clip keeps you from losing your boatd

    Sorry but Gizzard Shad can NOT be found, nor wanted, in "any" body of water in the U.S. We already have tons of problems with American Shad in the lower Columbia River. Good info on boards tho
