Here's one for part 7: Before doing THE Big Dig quest in good neighbor. Go to Hancock and get the quest for pick man's gallery. Don't do that quest yet. Then at the end of it, side with Bobbi. Also if you get Hancock as a companion before doing the quest at pickman gallery(which you can if you do the quest of Bobbi), you can go there with him and he will say something like: You know? When i asked you to go to pickman gallery i never imagines you would bring me here. I laugh there a lot.
I’ve also read something along the lines of that if you bring hancock with you if you raid his warehouse he laughs and says the player got nerves and he likes it or something like that
The Cabot quest is a nice example of the results both being pretty awful. Lovely little detail being if you kill Lorenzo you inadvertantly doom Jack and his psychopath of a sister. You can return within a week for a juicy reward, you return another week later and the first damage will already appear and if you hadnt collected the reward yet it will also be less royal compared to the week before.
The thing I find really cool about the Cabot house quest is that when you complete it you can be givin the serum to make you live forever. Which is really cool from a role play perspective because when fallout 5 comes out you can roll play your character from 4 and it won't be completely lore breaking regardless of how many years are between them
Im starting to believe dogmeat was actually part of the brotherhood. Think about it: he's the only young german shepherd in the commonwealth, the brotherhood is also known to travel with dogs (if you watch the vertibirds land and the soldiers get off), and dogmeats salute to maxson kinda makes sense
As a fun fact, the exploding mutants are a reference to a real life event, of high-pressurised gasses acumilating inside the whale corpses, with a single scratch enough for those gasses to burst out.
Sexy Pug true, but I was too young to have played Morrowind, oblivion was where I started. Heres a quick little fact, Nora is also military, shes just a lawyer by the time the world ends. Theyre both fully coded for their military past, Nora just had lawyers tacked on like a week before the game launched. Theres mods that remove that if you want, but nearly half of the interactions stating Nora is military too are still in the base game, without the need for any mods. The robots on the ship are simply just one of those interactions.
I experienced all of these, however your videos are so fresh and well done it was like experiencing it for first time all over again, so nicely done. Now I'm done here, going to play Fallout 4.
Nate, don't know if someone has pointed this out but number 3 is most likely a reference to movie Firestarter. Where a little girl named "Charlie", who misses her mom because she was killed, is on the run with her father. They are running from some shadowy agency who is trying to study their powers for their own use. (Perhaps something the institute might do?). Anyway, the first time I encountered them that movie popped into my head. Sorry to show my age...
Hey nate got a fact for you. In skyrim if you look closely at the bards playing the lute/ skyrim guitar you can see them using different strings with their fingers
Another note on the Cabot questline. There's psychiatric terminal entry in the asylum which speaks about a female subject who is addicted to violent and dangerous sex. the disturbing part is the reference to Jack requesting accurate descriptions of planned encounters with approved male partners from the medical staff. Just a throwaway line in a terminal that suggests a much darker side to the 'gentleman scientist' he portrays.
about number 1 with the robot boat there is also cut content that can be restored that the robots will also recognize noraas having served in the army as well
I played through twice but I didn’t truly love playing it until I did survival mode. It made me discover things in the game I wouldn’t have normally encountered.
Level 25 on my survival character so far and I get exactly what u mean. You have to walk everywhere so you explore so much, beer bottles have more value than u ever thought possible and seeing a sleeping bag in the corner while doing a mission is a Godsend haha
NearlyH3adlessNick I totally agree with the sleeping bag, when you’re desperately looking around for a bed to save your hard earned progress and you see some sort of bedding arrangement, it’s like instant relief! The game is more fulfilling i think in survival mode.
@@samd2013 I've never been as happy to see a broken open building as when I'm in downtown Boston.... Crouching and peeking around corners coz I'm hearing gunfire in the distance...and boom a proper bed! Lorenzo doesn't care if you help him murder his whole bloodline for being locked away by them for hundreds of years. But WAIT! Whoa whoa whoa, don't you think about eating his family in front of him. That's where he draws the line
I didn't know about the encounter with the nut case after freeing him from the asylum. Also I found the fact that the robots have two eyes as a HUGE SURPRISE in spite of having about 400 hours in the game. Crazy. Love this channel.
He did actually, when in the interview with Piper, if you tell her about your military service, you have the option of something along the lines of "the reds never stopped coming."
One theory I've heard repeated often is that Nate meet Nora in Alaska, where Nora was a member of the Alaskan Resistance. Which explains why she's just as good at handling guns as Nate is: she's been fighting Reds in her home state for as long as Nate has.
@@BetaSolution That would make sense. Also military units are known to utilize friendly civilian resistance fighters as pathfinders and scouts. if she was a local partisan then she would have received training with military equipment explaining why she can arm and disarm mines, use rocket launchers and power armor etc.
The first one when playing as Nora is more a case of the lookout actually finding a pre-war record on you (unlike most people passing by) and then conscripting you rather than your relation to a military member
Not sure if you covered it or not, but if you kill the guy at the entrance of the nuka world train terminal, the entire intro dialogue changes with guage talking to you.
Hi Nate. I don't know if you mentioned this yet but, during "The Silver Shroud" side quest, your character walks to Hubris Comics. If you look closely at the street signs, you will see that Hubris Comics is on Newbury Street. That is a possible reference to a New England chain of comic book and pop culture stores called Newbury Comics.
Btw I killed Finn in my first gameplay and when Hancock commends me I instantly fell in love with goodneighbor-I love it so much more than Diamond City-their great
That's what I though too especially because of the guy's shirt and grey beard. He definitely look like Joel. The girl is generic because there is a lack of kids clothing to make her look like Ellie.
Hey Nate a problem with the first detail 3:15 , When jumping aboard the uss constitution you can actually survive the voyage into the nearby skyscraper. You can do this by entering the lower deck of the ship before take off using a suit of power amour and a jetpack. Once landed you can actually go back up to the main deck where the captain will give u a reward for returning! ( Unsure about the reward as I did this 2 years back however I still know its possible to survive the voyage) Hope this helps :)
I've noticed all these (never tried the ship jumping), but what personally put the biggest smile on my face was killing Finn before he could be killed by Hancock.
The Assaultons still have the "eye" even if they don't have the head laser installed, so it could still be their eye and the things above their head could be other sensors instead.
In the mechanist DLC, after getting jezebel and defeating Ahab, if you go up to where he woke up and look to the left, you’ll find a stimpak and two wooden blocks saying “GG”, like the developers are rewarding you with health for defeating ahab
Hey Nate! I've got an interesting thing for the "things you didn't know you could do", but it's for Skyrim instead. Thing is that, If you're interested in alchemy, you can find out more about ingredient's option without having to eat it. Basically, whenever you stumble across an alchemist's inventory (like a small bag, or a set of ingredients on the table, or sometimes even a corpse), the ingredients you gather from that spot are actually, almost likely to be transformed into a specific potion. For example, if you found found the ingredients in the healer's bag, it'll make a health/stamina potion, or if you find them on the witch' table, you'll most likely make a poison of some sort when mixing the stuff. The more you know!
If you pass a speech check in the memory den before your supposed to go there you can relive the moment of your wife dying of your son getting kidnapped but then when you go there for the main quest you will get unique dialogue from doctor amari
I feel the need to point out when siding with Jack in the Cabot quest, you will occasionally find him and Edward out on the road, where he offers to trade you caps for some scientific junk
Bethesda’s loremasters are great. Aging is actually one of the hurdles of interstellar travel. The aliens in FO4’s lore solved that. Makes sense that Lorenzo and his family does not age because of the alien tech. Furthermore, In FO3 DLC,this might explain how the human subjects are kept alive.
I think the thing with the old man and little girl could he a reference to Adventure Time, Simon, an old man, and marciline, a young girl are traveling throught a post apocalyptic world where a bomb fell
When Fallout 4 first came out, you could program a securitron to be a subway steward and interact with it. If you had a Subway Token, the securitron would remove it from your inventory and say “Thank you, have a nice day” and then go attack anyone that isn’t carrying a subway token. I think that function is broken now. Whenever a subway steward securitron is activated now, it no longer takes the token and just attacks whoever it sees. Can ANYONE else second this?
I got it little bit different, he never notice me until I give him the token. After that he try to kill me. I remember in F3 they were ok if I gave them the token.
For part 7: If you get Hancock as a companion before doing the quest at pickman gallery(which you can if you do the quest of Bobbi), you can go there with him and he will say something like: You know? When i asked you to go to pickman gallery i never imagined you would bring me here.
Also, if you bring him along for the Silver Shroud quest, or any other quest where he's referenced (like the "Clear out triggermen" side quest), he comments on it.
Technically the USS Constitution is still in service, so when the war broke out the robots probably detected that all other ships were unable to sail that were in the military ( presumably in 2221 during Fallout 2) they probably thought since the war was still going on, they were the last ship still in service that was seaworthy, so they had to go take the fight to China
You're slightly wrong about the battalion one. Nate was in the 108th Infantry Regiment; 2nd Battalion, a regiment has multiple battalions. So they could have been in different battalions, but they where definitely in the same regiment.
Round radar dish of USS Constitution is an easter egg to Star Trek series where USS Enterprise (ship of Constitution Class) got the same radar dish named "sensor dish/navigational deflector".
Did you know that the assultron helmet actually has 2 different models, depending on what you're doing? If you're in combat, it will close down to protect your face, and when you're not in combat, the mask will by itself open up to the world. This even works when you equip the helmet on followers. The more you know!
I came across two ' tiny details' I've not seen before in fallout 4 today. I found a random jet attached to a terminal which explodes when you turn it on ( east of greater mass blood clinic) and also when leaving the game on the pip boy screen for a while, my character starts tapping on it like it's broken! Sorry if these have been covered before. Keep up the good work Nate!
Actually, if you free Lorenzo and go to Cabot's house, you can have a second chance and decide whether you want to make up for freeing him or let them die.
I love how in real life the 108th infantry is part of the New York Army National Guard, so Nate technically belongs to New York when he was in service.
If that will make you happy then you really need to get a life outside the internet and this is coming from someone with depression and suicidal thoughts. Honestly get off the internet and telling people you have depression and go get a hobby or something, trust me it helps. Yes this is coming off as rude and blunt but sometimes sugar coating it doesn't help. This also isn't saying you are worthless or have NO life just that you need to stop looking it the internet for help.

Damn that’s a cool one!
I’ve also read something along the lines of that if you bring hancock with you if you raid his warehouse he laughs and says the player got nerves and he likes it or something like that
@@nlrenzo9432 you get him as a companion after doing the big quest though
@@nlrenzo9432 fake

Has anyone noticed that another tiny detail you have missed is
The Cabot House is mentioned in almost every fallout vid of his
Funnily enough...
What people don't know is that Dogmeat is actually a Paladin within the Brotherhood of Steel.

As a fun fact, the exploding mutants are a reference to a real life event, of high-pressurised gasses acumilating inside the whale corpses, with a single scratch enough for those gasses to burst out.

Nuke Hall I gotta see that for myself!
@@aziza7660 only noticed today while I sat in the tavern in riverwood and noticed Sven moving his fingers
It's a lute. You were right the first time. Lutes exist irl.
Really? He gets mad at that
I didn't know about the encounter with the nut case after freeing him from the asylum. Also I found the fact that the robots have two eyes as a HUGE SURPRISE in spite of having about 400 hours in the game. Crazy. Love this channel.

Ah ah ah
doesn't that mean the the sole survivor fought in the Alaskan front
Not necessarily, but that was quite an important event, so it's a high possibility.
He did actually, when in the interview with Piper, if you tell her about your military service, you have the option of something along the lines of "the reds never stopped coming."
scott devnull no shit nate was in the cinematic in the beginning..
When you realise that TheEpicNate literally abbreviates to TEN (The Epic Nate)
The first one when playing as Nora is more a case of the lookout actually finding a pre-war record on you (unlike most people passing by) and then conscripting you rather than your relation to a military member
Not sure if you covered it or not, but if you kill the guy at the entrance of the nuka world train terminal, the entire intro dialogue changes with guage talking to you.

The assaultron thing is one of these things that you will see forever
Btw I killed Finn in my first gameplay and when Hancock commends me I instantly fell in love with goodneighbor-I love it so much more than Diamond City-their great
“Protectotron units”? This guy and his over the top delivery is murdering me to death.
You can kill Lorenzo after freeing him
Mirv double shot Fatman max heavy gunner max explosive dealt with that very fast
Maybe the father-daughter duo is based on joel and Ellie from the last of us? Theyre based on the road characters 🍄
( Unsure about the reward as I did this 2 years back however I still know its possible to survive the voyage)
Hope this helps :)
Nate if you have expert destruction during the college intro in skyrim J'ZARGO will say sumthin
I've noticed all these (never tried the ship jumping), but what personally put the biggest smile on my face was killing Finn before he could be killed by Hancock.
Assaultron not being a cyclops.

The Assaultons still have the "eye" even if they don't have the head laser installed, so it could still be their eye and the things above their head could be other sensors instead.

By god I hope you're right man. I hope you're right.
I haven't done it that many times to 100% guarantee it, but I think it's accurate, since with Bethesda, there's never such a thing as a coincidence
If you pass a speech check in the memory den before your supposed to go there you can relive the moment of your wife dying of your son getting kidnapped but then when you go there for the main quest you will get unique dialogue from doctor amari
Could be a reference to the last of us rather than the Road
TBH that makes more sense
I feel the need to point out when siding with Jack in the Cabot quest, you will occasionally find him and Edward out on the road, where he offers to trade you caps for some scientific junk
Wow I'm so offended 7:20 LOL

Bethesda’s loremasters are great.
Aging is actually one of the hurdles of interstellar travel.
The aliens in FO4’s lore solved that. Makes sense that Lorenzo and his family does not age because of the alien tech. Furthermore, In FO3 DLC,this might explain how the human subjects are kept alive.
I did not know that about the dolphins, I tried smacking one once, but nothing happened, guess I didn’t hit it enough.
You liar
I got it little bit different, he never notice me until I give him the token. After that he try to kill me. I remember in F3 they were ok if I gave them the token.
I wonder how many people notice the sole survivor's frozen wife is named Nora and you get a freeze gun like a certain Batman character.

For part 7:
If you get Hancock as a companion before doing the quest at pickman gallery(which you can if you do the quest of Bobbi), you can go there with him and he will say something like: You know? When i asked you to go to pickman gallery i never imagined you would bring me here.
Also, if you bring him along for the Silver Shroud quest, or any other quest where he's referenced (like the "Clear out triggermen" side quest), he comments on it.
Nate, I love you buddy, but I'm pretty sure ships from the 1700s didn't fight Communists.
Thats actually awesome I didn't know that one!! Gonna go find the ship now check it out xD
Did you know that the assultron helmet actually has 2 different models, depending on what you're doing? If you're in combat, it will close down to protect your face, and when you're not in combat, the mask will by itself open up to the world. This even works when you equip the helmet on followers.
