    Two years on, and I have just had to replace the battery in the front tyre sensor, so that's pretty good going. Everything still works as it should. You can still get these on eBay, and they look superficially similar, but it's a slightly different design, and unfortunately neither the unit nor the sensors look to be quite so robust. Still, half the price they were two years ago... worth a punt.

    Just back from a 3,000 mile trip in all weathers, and I can report that this performed flawlessly. A tiny bit of condensation in the display after a few hours of motorway rain, but it soon disappeared once everything dried up.

    The front temp will be a lot cooler than the back ie the front has no obstruction of air flow compared to the rear ,also the rear works harder with weight and the heat off the engine.have fitted these to my bike and I am really happy with the product.Ianx

    I had one of these and after around 12 months one of the sensors stopped working. I replaced the battery but it still wouldn't work. I bought a second tpm and this time the valve cap sensors were metal instead of plastic. 2 years onwards and the unit is still going strong with no problems. I'm not sure if the temperature displayed is accurate but I have checked the pressure readings with two different gauges and they are accurate. Great video. Ride safe. 👍

    The temps are different because the rear tyre is the driving tyre and is bound to get hottest

    I'm having trouble , my main box wont pick up the tyre pressure from the wheels .Any ideas ??

  • @aimnfire

    I suggest you go and check your tyre pressure manually. Mine shows the same psi for few weeks but when i feel something was not right, i went to check. True enough my normal setting is 35 psi, tpms shows 35 psi but when manual check its actually 29 psi. So beware about this.

    • @jaudicedbrow
      @jaudicedbrow  3 роки тому +3

      Well, 'check your pressures' is never bad advice. Mine are doing okay - rear dropped from 42 to 39 over a period of about 4 months.

      Still going strong. I haven't had to replace the batteries in the sensors yet. Just charge up the display every couple of months.

    Thanks for the review, how have you found it over time? any pressure loss because of the caps? How is the battery life of the display and caps panning out? Thanks

    • @jaudicedbrow
      @jaudicedbrow  4 роки тому +3

      No issues after a couple of months and a couple of thousand miles. No pressure loss from the caps. Too early to comment on battery life for the caps - I'd expect them to last a couple of years. As for the display, I haven't needed to charge it yet.

    Hi there, thanks for the review.Just installed my one today, a bit tricky to set it. The temperature seems to be right, but the pressure shows a lot less than profi Tyre measuring device. Any idea how to reset 🧐 Thanks for your answer. With regards Mira D

    • @jaudicedbrow
      @jaudicedbrow  3 роки тому +1

      I don't think it's possible to recalibrate the sensors. Logically either the sensors are kaput, or your other device is not measuring correctly. I guess the only way to know for sure is... a third measuring device.

    How do u add air in the tires with the now tpms on the tube. Is it easy?

    • @jaudicedbrow
      @jaudicedbrow  4 роки тому +3

      You need to unscrew the sensor, and also remove the locking nut, otherwise the pump fitting won't go fully onto the valve. To be honest, you don't really need the locking nuts, unless you're paranoid about the sensors getting nicked... and even then, you could unscrew them with a firm grip. The sensors seal well though, so adding air isn't too regular an occurrence.

    Great video thanks. Would I have to mount the display? I have a tank bag and honestly just want to make sure my pressure is good in the morning before going to work and again before coming home so could I just keep in my tank bag? Thanks.

    • @jaudicedbrow
      @jaudicedbrow  4 роки тому +2

      Hmm. The display wakes up as soon as you move it / the bike, but when it wakes sometimes it 'remembers' the previous pressures until the wheels are rolling. Should be ok for what you're suggesting, as just rolling it out the garage should be enough for it to read correctly.

    Hi there, i was looking for a TPMS and came across your video, thanks for that, it has been more than 1 year ago, can you tell me if the system is still working?

    • @jaudicedbrow
      @jaudicedbrow  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah, we're 18 months on and it's still working fine. I haven't had to replace the batteries in the sensors - just charge up the display every once in a while.

    How did you determine what temperature for each tire to set your sensor? I have no idea where to obtain the information telling me the heat range for a particular tire.

    • @jaudicedbrow
      @jaudicedbrow  3 роки тому +1

      You can't set them to trip an alarm for temperatures (at least I don't think so) - only for pressures. The temp reading is just an extra feature, and, to be honest, not a particularly useful one. I wouldn't worry too much about tyre temp for normal road use anyway. More of an issue for the track, and even then it's going to be more about what the tyre is doing (melting, tearing, etc.) rather than the temperature itself.

    • @kentuckyjustice1408
      @kentuckyjustice1408 3 роки тому +1

      @@jaudicedbrow Mine has a tire temp setting. I'm not worried about a Kenda K270 getting too hot. I'm more worried about setting it NOT to go off. That thing will keep beeping for 45 minutes after I park my bike.😖

    Around 5:15 it seems you lose the cap and the tire started to get deflated right away. I guess that cant be true otherwise you can pump up the tire. Could you explain this in a bit. This gadget looks useful but this concerns me a bit :)

    • @jaudicedbrow
      @jaudicedbrow  Рік тому

      I wouldn't be concerned - the caps are on there firmly, and they are not going to undo themselves. I have about 25,000 miles with this now and no issues.

    hi, when does the battery of the monitor and the sensors last approximately?

    • @jaudicedbrow
      @jaudicedbrow  4 роки тому +3

      Monitor - depends how many miles you are doing, but think weeks or months, rather than days. Sensors - dunno. 6 months and counting.

    Considering the size/weight of sensors did you have to rebalance your wheels?

    • @jaudicedbrow
      @jaudicedbrow  9 місяців тому +1

      I did think about it, but I didn't bother, and didn't experience any issues. When I later got a new tyre fitted, I got the fitter to balance it with the sensor on. But yes, getting the wheels rebalanced immediately would be the correct way to go about it.

    Is there any way to replace monitors battery?

    • @jaudicedbrow
      @jaudicedbrow  Рік тому

      If I remember right, the battery is soldered to the board. Not impossible clearly, but not as simple as slotting a new one in.

  • @keduro655

    hello, it's been a while. I ask how's the tyre pressure today is still alive.?

    • @jaudicedbrow
      @jaudicedbrow  11 місяців тому

      Yep, it's still going. The rechargeable battery in the main unit has become a bit grumpy about charging - it only charges with very low output USB, e.g. it will charge off the port on a laptop, but not from a phone charger. But all in all, I can't complain. If you're just commuting, the batter still lasts for several weeks. The only real problem is that this particular model is harder to get on Ebay, and has near-doubled in price. There are other cheaper units available, but the quality doesn't inspire much confidence.

    Do you think the rear temperature sensor is higher because it is near the engine? Makes sense to me.

    • @kevindarkstar
      @kevindarkstar Рік тому

      No, it's almost certainly due to the size of the rear tyre and the friction on it ect, I'm not sure how engine temp would affect the rear tyre.
