The groove in this performance is incredible. Definitely one of the most beautiful songs ever written. As a guitarist, I love Rich’s open G tuning with Marc Ford soloing over it in standard tuning. Great use of dynamics. Just an absolute masterpiece!!
All Amorica is a masterpiece 101%
@@joseluischavezdiaz5942agreed .
The bass holds this down but Rich just shines here ...whole bands at the top of their game on this studio track .their peak imo
I really miss the days musicians were important for music and when their creation were eagerly awaited albuns and not only quick-comsumption hits to be downloaded and soon forgotten. It is a shame there is no time for today´s musicians grow with their mistakes and come with masterpieces after lessons were learned. Maybe I´am getting old...but also wiser..
Amorica is one of my favorite albums
josh white Same, very underrated
The Crowes at their best. Marc Ford & Rich Robinson is & will always be the sound of the Black Crowes. Marc fuckin Ford! Rest easy Ed✌🏼
Mr Ford is such an underrated 🪓 man
He is the black crowes x
Such a beautiful song. The Crowes at their best playing their rock and roll hearts out. The world needs now bands like this!
My favorite tune from the Black Crowes
Outstanding groove, good ole fashioned rock and roll.
All kinds of high vibes on this one 🎶 💨
My memories of when this came out are magical like these songs from the album ! What a ride , learned a lot in those years !😉
This a damn jam !!! Give me another cold one!!
I love this...what else can i say.
Nothing. Shut up.
Magic. Enough said.
What's wrong with folks? There should be way more comments here. This is outstanding!
"You ask me why another road song. Funny but I bet you never left home."
Who would thumb this down?
Jonas brother fans
Wait till Derek owns this song

Camera man be like: opps wrong guy on guitar solo ;oP
It’s always been a mystery to me why the Black Crowes are never talked about as being one of the greatest rock n roll bands to ever come out of America. Their catalog is excellent. They were around many years. Great studio and a great live band.
But if you ask the average person about them, you get ,”weren’t they the band that did a cover of Hard to Handle years ago?”
They did so much as a band after that.
Listen to the album Amorica, then tell me they are not a hall of fame worthy band
I thought every album was great, but yes Amorica they stepped it up.
Hard to Handle was a decent song, but from that album alone Twice as Hard rocks. Talks to Angels doesn't get remembered as the hit it was.
Many unfortunate folks are kept in the dark from the beauty that is hidden in plain sight.
They weren't trendy enough, weren't a grunge band when grunge was the thing, but they'd blow all of these bands right off the stage back in those days, and twice on Sundays. Right off the stage. You either caught it and "got it", or you whiffed and missed it. Also, if they really tried to write hit songs and cared about the business side of things, they would have been much bigger than they were. Anyone who saw them in their prime knows how incredible they were.
"Shake Your Money Maker" was so good and so raw, and "Southern Harmony..." was such a mature follow up...they grew musically with each album and still made badass music the whole time. IMO one of the three or four greatest rock bands from the US.
Ya know ....I have slapped my forehead...while the Dead, and Allmans etc..went. The mantle waa left wide open. Eddie Vedder raved about R Bros and Gorman ( as he gorged the buffet table) for s la Dylan & the Band. But life happens.....but...eh I got my Marc Ford in my Crowes. 4 straight nights the San Francisco Fillmore....like someone stuffed a cinnamon roll in my left ear every night. Ya shoulda been there ;)
Might happen again....
I wish I was friends with everyone here who responded. A lot of my friends never got the Crowes. I always pitied them...
Yup ....I feel ya !!
This is one of the greatest live sessions, in my opinion, in the history of rock music. What a brilliant moment caught in time we can enjoy over and over again. Chills every time.
Right on!🎶✌🏽
We are!

Most underrated song of the 90s, written with pain, Blood, tears and bittersweet memories that all of us can relate. A real masterpiece, not an exageration of the term. This song make me smile, cry and miss a Life that I did not Live.
🙏god bless
Most bands have a song that ‘gets me’. This is it with The Black Crowes.
It takes me back to a more pleasant time in my life ✌️
@@utolean3025👍😉
My brother, who dies last year due to cancer, and I would drive on the Viña del Mar coastline in Chile, windows down, listening to this gem. "You ask me why another road song... funny but I bet you've never left home..."
This is one of greatest songs ever written in my opinion.
Pure and perfect fucking brilliance
There are 7 who disliked this song.Funny I bet they never left home
How In the world does anyone not love this song !?! Must not have any heart . Greatest song ! 💯
This is simply just "as good as it gets!"❤
PERFECT!!!!!! Everything about this song is PERFECT!!!!! The entire album is perfect!!!!! I wish these guys would get it together and go back out on the road!
Your wishes came true !!!😁...mine too
Those 3 first albums were perfect in their own style!
RIP Eddie Harsch
An amazing musician. So sadly missed x
Southern Harmony and Amorica are my favorite albums by them!
Miss you Eddie. Amazing pianist. He added so much soul to their music. RIP.
I can hear it 10 times a day( ido😊), still love it more and more... my all time nummer 1
I can listen to this song over and over and never get tired of it .
2 words.. Marc.Ford
Out-fucking-standing...
The piano interlude, the rhythmic drumming, the dual guitars, lyrics and vocal harmonies...if it's gets better than this, I haven't heard it.
Never said better
"if it's gets better than this, I haven't heard it." - Perfect!!!
This song and the album it's on is a masterpiece. ❤
If ever there was a song for cruising in the sunshine, with a warm breeze hitting your face, as you drive with the top down, then this is it.
Nailed it! 👍
If you can't feel this there's a real problem!
God bless Eddie harsch
This will always be my favorite incarnation of the band. I realize there were issues with Marc and that Johnny eventually left the business, but damn, these 6 dudes made 3 absolutely beautiful albums. Not to mention how good they were live.
chris robinson is fantastic! and the whole band is tight and beautiful! 10/10
Oh how I love this song. Put it on and I'm back in the 90s.
Awesome ~!!👍👍👍
04:18 He is like Rory Gallagher!!
Miss you Eddie 😔
i love this version so in the groove
out of this world
this is without a doubt one of the best things that ever happened in the history of mankind
Amen to that.
Great comment haha!!
Oh! Holy sh$t! What a version... Thanks!
Man I used to listen to Amorica on a cassette over and over... favorite was Ballad->Wiser Time
Good old fashion ballad ..enjoy
Best black crowes song ever
"Glory just beyond our reach"
Ironically,.I believe they reached it here...This was glorious !!
By far my favorite song of theirs, I bought "Amorica" when I first heard this song and the rest of the album also did not disappoint.
Damn it Robinson bros get therapy and work your shit out the workd NEEDS good rock n roll come on guys i miss the BC experience
God Bless Ed Harsch........he will be remembered...... he was GREAT......BUT.....the Crowes NEED Marc Ford to continue GREAT music and composition.....bring back Marc Ford.......PLEASE !!
Great tune. I just started practicing it for a Crowes tribute band I’m in. My lead vocalist is the epitome of Chris..
Marc F’N Ford . Wish The Magpie Salute would have kept it going they were coming along nicely.
Damn that vocal melody, melts me inside :)
The magic boys.Could loop this one for a while.
"wind swept star's blinking smiles" i have been watching my entire life so this song has burned in2 my soul
That is Steve Gorman's drums patterns. nuf said.
Beautiful. Harmonies on point. Marc f-ing Ford, Ladies & Gentlemen! 🔥
Those Robinson brothers harmonies are tits..,Freaking amazing!
Man I am so glad Marc Ford was in the black crowes and he added a tremendous amount of beauty and overall quality to their sound. He is a guitar genius.
Brother Rich was the _real_ genius here. Good as Marc was.👍
Great song, and a wonderful video. Thank you.
You can feel this one!
I just search for bands that can lay it down like these geniuses! Ain't found one yet.
Such a great song and performance. So sad to think Marc Ford was struggling with a bad heroin addiction during this time and would soon leave the fold.
anthony22bob he was able to clean up. He has put out some solo records.
anthony22bob he has cleaned up so that’s good. At the time of this performance, he was either high or dope sick. Probably hard to play in either of those conditions
LMAO. Chris was out of his gourd, as was Eddie and Johnny. To this day, I have no idea why Marc was the one who was scapegoated other than the fact he was the easiest to scapegoat. Don't believe the papers, folks.
They usually jam this much longer than this clip. My favorite from them
This album came out when I was a sophomore in college, 1995. Amorica and southern harmony are 2 favorite albums by the crowes. I love the black crowes!!
Saw em up close at the Pantages in ‘95. They were unreal.
Btw, if yer the guy who lost your wallet at this show, it was I who found & sent it back to ya. ✌️
(**Oh, I remembered: I bumped into a pre-famous/-infamous Carrot Top in the lobby. Asked how things were goin for him. He said he’s playin that week at the Wiltern. I asked, genuinely, who he was opening for ... and he did a Three Stooges forked-finger to my eyes. 😄)
Only some really know how good that drummer is. He has his own sound. Awesome.
my fav crowes song!!
Descanse en paz Eddie Harsch. Grande en los teclados.
Love that song and that band. Feel like l had to grow same time same life stuff. Much love to everyone! 😄
Eddie Harsh R.I.P.
How good were these guys?!
In my top 10
I know it to say but I love you all.
Come to Louisiana I would love to see you and your brother before I die you just don't know cuz y'all been there a lot you've been fantastic
Greg and Duane r gone forever pick up the southern rock tradition
Sweet
Just witnessed a miracle
Marc Ford!! RIP ED
Is he dead? 🤔
Pure rock n roll all the way from the uk
great song played by a great band at the very top of their game...the thing about the studio version I find so compelling is the pedal steel guitar....but this is a superior live version
Out-bleeping -standing!
Can’t get enough of their music ....
It's kinda weird to see Rich playing an SG.
One of my favs!
Wish they would get back together. saw them twice. not enough
Max Hunter For some reason, I have never seen them in concert. At least I'm pretty sure that I haven't. I have probably had the chance once but for some reason or another, I missed out. They have been a favorite of mine since they came out but I guess that my friends didn't like them as much so we never focused on them. If I ever do a dance for a woman, it has to be to one of their songs. They just make "gettin down" so much easier for this white guy.
slickredrocket I suggest that you go see Magpie Salute! Run, don't walk! They are playing crazy small venues and still have the Crowes magic!
SO good, no wait SO great!
So good.
Fire the Marc Ford guy.
My gawd, classic Marc.
The best version of this song recorded I dare you to defy me.
Great recording, pity Chris & rich killed the band, especially Chris (ego)
Destroyed them for the last 20 years. The reunion was the only good part. Shame.
@@afmartin2734 The reunion didn't catch wind at all, countless shows in the UK had awful ticket sales & they were eventually cancelled. I have saw them over 10 times & with 5 different lead guitarists, no cohesion in the line-up doesn't help. Steve Gorman's book showed the brothers up for what they are, especially shallow prima donna/diva Chris.
@@tonywelsh3709 - Didn't catch wind? They had no promotion, no album, nothing and started off the tour with like 7 sold out shows in NYC. It was incredible. Saw upwards of 20 shows on the reunion tour. Not quite the prime years of '92-'97, but 2 sets, spanning the whole catalog, covers, jamming, etc. A feast for the ears. You are just on the wrong side of the pond. The Shepherd's Bush shows in March of 2006 are some of the best shows of that reunion era. Smoking. Agreed on the other part. CR and RR's egos are bad enough, especially CRs, and it did nothing but ruin them. They've been in an off and on fade for 20 years. It all depends how they think they can make money. Once that became the deciding factor of their direction, that was it. But, 2005/2006, there was a little window of genuineness.
@@afmartin2734 I didnt say they didnt catch wind, the first & 2nd albums did. They blew it though & sabotaged their success. Chris is to blame
@@afmartin2734 I was replying to your first comment. The UK tour collapsed, they were selling tickets for $19.90 recently. The band is finished mate because they let SO many of the orignal'sh line up of the reunion for $$$$$$$$$$$$4 reasons. They betrayed their values, now they're falls
people in my eyes
great sound quality and playing!!!!!!!
Amazing
What a shame...
Perfection
This is up there with sepulturas performance
The Black Crowes

Rich looks like a young Robin Trower in this.
