Excellent!!!!!!! I ran into Chris and his wife last night 9-4-2023 in Soho (NYC) and they were dressed so FLY. Sometimes Salvation was one of my favorite songs I even sang a little bit for him. “He said I made his day” His wife Camille suggested we take a picture. It was AWESOME

Yeah, I agree. I was wishing they would play that one instead of Money Maker. I put it up there with Sticky Fingers and every other great rock and roll record. It's just an amazing run of songs on that album - and the guitars are so devastating. I have the CD in my car, and I've been listening to it ever since it came out when I was 13 - all the time. Great driving record.
He used to sound pretty bad live but lately his voice is sounding really good. It’s also worth mentioning that their last album was recorded live in front of an audience

@ Luke Jarrett::::not sure I understand your statement. Gregg Allman literally played until his dying days. He left us with a beautiful album ! He knew he was dying & wanted us to have just a little more of him after he was gone
I keep coming back to this every once in a while. Growing up listening to them in the 90s then being able to hear them together again 30 years later and sounding better than ever is unreal.
The Black Crowes are literally tattooed in my soul... fully responsible for me becoming a musician. I’m so glad these two brothers are back together and rocking it Tiny desk: your sound engineer is a blessing to the world too!!!
30 years since this song debuted. It's interesting to hear the subtle little guitar fills and nuances that Rich Robinson has added into the song after all these years. One guitar takes the place of an entire band.
Chris still sounds so amazing and soulful! I always felt these guys weren't given enough credit for their contributions to blues/rock over the last 4 decades. They are badasses!
I was a teenager in the 90s listening to these guys... it gives me goose bumps to listen to these songs again. They shaped my music background to a very large degree, I just realized.
When I was a kid in the early to mid 90’s I loved this band even though I didn’t really follow bands. I just knew when their songs were on the radio I really enjoyed them. I still remember summer evenings, driving home from baseball games listening to “Talks to Angels” or being at the public pool hearing “Hard to Handle” over the loud speakers. It was only a few years ago when I really sat back and listened to all of their albums, and I’ve been steadily listening to them ever since.

When you were a kid, I was in my thirties and loving them, too. “Wiser Time” is my all-time favorite. I’m so happy to see them performing together again.

The brothers are so in unison! You can tell they are getting along, and happy. This is so nice to see. I love the heart on Rich's guitar, and his great guitar playing. Chris is seriously so funny, and is giving us some serious soulful blues!! They sound so great!Thank you for this!!
This takes me to such a weird nostalgic place - back in the 90's, but these guys always made me feel like it was the 70's, which was such a mindfuck because at the time I was living in Van Nuys, California (2Pac, DJ Quik, Eazy E), but remembering Athens, Ohio and Woodstock, New York (Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Manassas). Always love these guys - Amorica. stands as a rock n roll TOUR DE FORCE.
These two just find a zone that is so great. Each on their own is incredibly talented but together they just produce some of the best music I've enjoyed for over 30 years.
There are things that you cant describe with words...SO what artists do is add music and poetry to them...Music is sometimes the only vehicle you have to express your feelings. Thank god for music!
The Black Crowes are the first band I ever really listened to. I'm lucky enough to have a dad who was willing to take me to their show in Pozo, California when I was fourteen. I consider it the first live show I ever went to because it was the first show I went to that I wanted to go to, and the first band that I checked and rechecked the tour dates for to see how close they were going to get to my town. When I saw this video up I nearly cried...these gentleman feel like good friends to me and they don't even know me. They introduced me to the feeling that rock n' roll and the blues provide and I still look for that feeling in all of the music I listen to. I still put on The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion a couple times a year, and it's as groovy and soul-filled as ever.
Nice story. So 25 years later you can check also this year when they play close to wherever you live if they can finally go on tour (maybe difficult because of coronavirus, who knows). I have followed them since the beginning, saw them a couple of times (in Spain, where I come from), and I feel a liitle bit sad because they couldn't maintain the band mambers, at least of the last time they were on tour (mostly Steve Gorman and Sven Pipien, the most faithful). I am curious about the new band anyway.
Me too! These guys are literally what I listened to my entire childhood. Growing up, my dad would take me to their shows every time they were in town. Maybe 20 shows. I cann definitely owe them for my drive to become a musician. I've had the worst day trying to record and get my home set up put together. Super discouraging. This popped up and when I heard She Talks to Angels I start SOBBING.
Pozo!!! Such a cool venue! I saw Social Distortion and Hank 3 there. I loved driving around that lil town. We ended up driving to some small and obscure cemetery that they have.

Oh what joy in these desperate times to loose one's self for a moment and kick back and be entertained from two great musical brothers She talks to Angels played wonderfuly in Open E by Rich with Chris in fine form stunning
I worshipped The Crowes back in 92..TSHAMC was my musical bible for a very long time..met them in 93..Kings among men..love you guys..cant wait to see you in London 🤘🇬🇧🎸
Is there anything better than seeing Rich smiling at Chris after all these years? I think not! Both Sounding & looking great as well. Absolutely wonderful.
Rich playing his Guild in that resonate “Open G” Tuning on “Wiser Time” ~*~ wonderfully sets the background for the Robinson Brother’s great vocals, , THAT was the magic of this little concert.
You got that right and you've got to give it to Tiny Desk, they get the best live audio on UA-cam hands down! What was that first guitar he was playing, don't think I've ever seen one? BP
Wiser time... Every time puts me all up in my feels. This acoustic version made tears flow down my face. In these hard times that the whole world is going through music is what will bring us together and make us feel hopeful. Thank you tiny desk and thank you Robinson brothers for your talent and your soul.
I’ve always felt like these two, and the entire band were/are somehow under appreciated. This is yet another example of just how important (and great) they are to the American musical landscape.
I woke up and played Radioheads High and Dry, then lo and behold this vid was suggested!!... I already was getting emotional than this just made me fall to pieces. The American music industry is so destructive now, I came up in the 90's and loved this stuff back then. Only now do I realize it was some of the very tops highlights of my musical experience. Man do they sound age resilient!!!!!! I love reading the comments about how deep the connections are, and how people were inspired to start playing. We need to start remembering again. JLM
I just stumbled upon this and my mind is blown. I didn't even know these two were on speaking terms. Hopefully they have buried the hatchet forever and are cherishing their brotherhood.

Oh what joy in these desperate times to loose one's self for a moment and kick back and be entertained from two great musical brothers She talks to Angels played wonderfuly in Open E by Rich with Chris in fine form stunning
Chris Robinson is a Very Underrated (SOUL) singer...I here some Otis reading trying to get out
I worshipped The Crowes back in 92..TSHAMC was my musical bible for a very long time..met them in 93..Kings among men..love you guys..cant wait to see you in London 🤘🇬🇧🎸
The way that Rich plays that 12-string Guild is pure magic. Looking forward to new content from the Black Crowes soon. Keep making the magic, guys!
The Black Crowes are my all time favorite band!!! This is the best Tiny Desk ever. Made my day! Love love love it
Man what a treat! Really hit the spot man. Thank you Tiny Desk for bringing them out. Thank you Black Crowes!!
Rich plays the guitar so good! I love it! They're so amazing together, it's magic.
I saw them at the Greek LA last April. It's one of the best rock shows I've seen in a while. A blessing to witness their renaissance.
How much they are in tune is CRAZY! Brothers Respect!
I'm smiling so much my face hurts. Incredible how a guitar and two voices can stir the soul. Come on!
Robinson brothers will go down in history as one of the greatest ever in Rock history.
Is there anything better than seeing Rich smiling at Chris after all these years? I think not! Both Sounding & looking great as well. Absolutely wonderful.
Rich smiling almost made me cry. Get back together
It's so right on so many levels. Love it when my heroes shine. Beautiful

Hey Billy Boy, , that first Acoustic is a Zemaitis. Made in England I believe.
Wiser time, anthem of my old bones.~
Open E?
Wiser time... Every time puts me all up in my feels. This acoustic version made tears flow down my face. In these hard times that the whole world is going through music is what will bring us together and make us feel hopeful. Thank you tiny desk and thank you Robinson brothers for your talent and your soul.
Why can I only "like" this once? This is the best thing on the internet. I hope they are still healthy and together in September. I've got tickets!
I just saw their rescheduled show in Nashville and it was perfection. I hope you still have tickets!
JLM
Wiser Time..... goosebumps. Boys still got it!
I just stumbled upon this and my mind is blown. I didn't even know these two were on speaking terms. Hopefully they have buried the hatchet forever and are cherishing their brotherhood.
Wiser Time was divine! Thank you NPR for this wonderful set of the Robinson brothers!
Thanks for watching!
