For use with any Octopus tariff, like Go or Intelligent Go
    Time of use tariffs
Octopus Go is the cheapest by day, Ecotricity the most expensive. The low day rate usually makes Octopus cheapest overall.
EON offer the longest period of cheap energy overnight - 7 hours - and it’s the cheapest at 6.99p kWh, but their day rate is second highest
    Smart tariffs
smart tariffs, of you have a compatible car or charger are cheaper than time of use tariffs.
If you will be charging mostly overnight and can shift over a quarter of your house use into the cheap hours then Octopus Intelligent Go is usually the cheapest of all. A solar or battery system can help you do that.
If you are unable to charge overnight, or unable to shift house use into the cheap period, OVO Charge Anytime may be best.

Well I Am on octopus agile and we had a super period of zero cost charging. Beyond that just got to manage when I charge but usually get around 10p/kwh still way cheaper than petrol of course. I have an MG4 to state.

Agile is a great option for some, as is Octopus Flux. Depends on your usage.

For most people those home charging costs will be frightening, I've had solar and battery for the last two years and have net zero cost over the year and as you say I'm not that worried about the efficiency of the car but I'm a bit panicky if I'm on a long trip and can't get to a Tesla open to all charger

My mindset is that because most of my charging is at home and very cheap, on the few times a year I need to use a public charger, the high cost is already offset. I don’t think EVs make economic sense to drivers with no home or workplace charging and reliant on public charging

How about the EDF electric car tarrif. We’ve been on it since 2021 and nothing comes close with the scope of the low rate. Yes it’s 17p but we get 10 hours every night and ALL weekend. Works great at our house with 2 battery electric cars.

Didn’t know about that one, if it’s open to new customers please provide a link and your referral code if you have one. You can charge 2 cars simultaneously with intelligent octopus go. One smart charging and one set to the default 2330-0530.
