    I have the TP link BE95 and it is very impressive. Your review of this system fits in well with the lower broad band consumer and will give them incredible reliability.

    Great review. I just upgraded to the BE63 from an old Linksys Velop mesh system that suffered far too many hardware and outages during their firmware updates over the years.
    One additional feature I think you missed: it offers a dedicated IoT SSID @ 2.5GHz. This is great to separate out a lot of devices I don’t visible on my main network.
    Keep up the great work!

    Awesome review. Looks like my next mesh system. How many and what type (Stud, block, brick) walls are the 20ft and 50ft range including? I think it would be cool on these reviews to flash up a floor plan of where these are placed for the test indicating what types of walls are included

    *landpet* I remember you mentioning that your internet speeds are 5 Gbps (download/upload). What Steam download speeds do you achieve, in gigabits, when you download a game to your computer? And which CPU do you have in your gaming rig? I'm asking because I'm currently experiencing a CPU bottleneck when I transfer a games on my LAN from one computer to another. On my Ryzen 5 7600 rig that I transferring from, 7 out of 12 threads are at 100% and bottlenecks what should be a 2.5 gbps transfer to only 1.7 gbps. I've asked you these two questions because I'd like to know what's realistically achievable. Thank you in advance and Happy New Year.

    @landpet, your reviews are so good and informative. I currently have 3 Eero 6E Pro's and am really disappointed in the wireless backhaul. I am considering tp-link. I am having an Apple Homekit based smart home and I read many issues in combination with Deco systems. Do you have any experience or suggestions where to find more information to prevent any issues? Thank you in advance!

    • @landpet
      @landpet  2 місяці тому

      Thanks! I don’t really use HomeKit, I have a couple things but I mainly use Google and Alexa for that. But I don’t understand how a mesh system would not allow something on your network to communicate with one another. When I ask my HomePod mini to find my iPhone, that works fine no matter which mesh I’m using. But if a problem does exist which again doesn’t make sense to me fundamentally then the Asus XT9 is an excellent choice for superior wireless backhaul speeds for a relatively low price. Hope this helps!

    Quick question for a novice: I hooked these up today to my Verizon Fios 6E router/modem. Am I good to go with that setup? Or should I upgrade my router/modem to something like the TP-Link BE19000? I want to take full advantage of wifi7 and give my house the fastest speeds. Is my current router fine or is it slowing me down? And what would you recommend if it is slowing me down? Thanks so much! I can’t seem to find the answer to this anywhere…

    I love your reviews. But I do have a suggestion. Test for router to router wireless backhaul range vs. speed. I have a very large home that currently is facilitated with a 5 router eero pro 6 mesh system. Wired backhaul is not possible for me. Therefore, my primary concern is wireless backhaul performance. But in all the reviews I've watched over the years, everybody tests distance performance with a device like a phone, but nobody seems to test wireless backhaul speeds between routers at various distances apart. I'd say the average distance apart between my routers is probably 50 ft (straight line going through walls and floors). I'd like to see speed numbers with routers 25, 50, 75, and 100 feet apart with a computer hard wired to the remote router. Also, in some cases, it seems like my furthest router is wireless backhaul connected to another router, then that router is wireless backhaul connected to my main router. In this case, one router is behaving as a relay for the far remote router to the main router. How are speeds effected in such a configuration? Any tests that would attempt to address performance under these conditions would be greatly appreciated.

    Any advice?? I’m really considering this because of the four 2.5 ports. I have 1.2gb internet and want full wired internet speeds on my desktops for gaming. I don’t need crazy WiFi. I just got the x55pro (two 2.5s) but it has mild latency issues for gaming over Ethernet, and fluctuates speeds quite a bit. I have an asus et12 sitting in the box I was going to try next. But then I saw this and thought hmmm. Any recommendation for which would be the very best mesh for wired gaming?

    • @landpet
      @landpet  6 місяців тому

      If we’re talking about wired only, this has no advantage over the ASUS. ASUS makes solid routers as well and I really like their products. Try it out and see how that works, if it’s great no need to switch.

    Great review! Thank you posting it. I was getting ready to pull the trigger on a Deco BE85 2-pack, but now I'm wondering if the BE63 2-pack would be a better option, especially since my Verizon FIOS is currently capped at 1GB, with no plans to go above 2GB anytime soon.
    Aside from that, my other concern is Wi-Fi signal range. Is the BE85 signifcantly better than the BE63 in terns of range? Thanks!

      @@landpet Sounds good. One thing I noticed when I compared your BE63 range test vs the BE85 is that the BE63 upload range was significantly less, percentage-wise, than that of the BE85. Do you know why that was? Maybe a firmware issue?
      Also, did you happen to test the range with 2.4 and 5GHz clients? The only reason I ask is I have a (6) Nest Battery Cams that I'm having a problem reaching with my Synology RT2600ac mesh system. Thanks, again for your help.

    Hello I have a 1500sq ft loft apartment that has thick walls. Im using a cox modem/router with the router being on top floor. My room is on the bottom floor furthest away from the router. Wifi has to go through a kitchen wall and bathroom wall to get to my room, which makes the signal very weak. @landpet  6 місяців тому

      For wired backhaul, it won’t make a difference. For wireless backhaul, this will perform better. XE200 is still a fantastic mesh though. But if you ever upgrade to 2Gbps, then this would have the full support for that where the main deco can get 2Gbps (can go up to 10Gbps) but the secondary one won’t.
      Again for wired backhaul at those speeds, not going to be much different.

      WiFi 6E devices can connect to the 6GHz band on this assuming it’s not being used as a dedicated backhaul.
      2.4GHz is typically for smart home devices or if you get fairly far away from this with normal WiFi devices like a modern smartphone

    • @4givenoxygenbarez

      It is combined speed not tge mac speed. That is why reviewers likeus wants to reallyeducate cobsumers..because most manufacturers would say it is max speed but it is really combined speed

    • @landpet
      @landpet  6 місяців тому +1

      Yeah so when they say that, they mean a summation of all the speeds of all the bands. That’s how the speed rating is determined. Hence it’s BE10000 where BE denotes WiFi 7 just like AXE denotes WiFi 6E and AX denotes WiFi 6, AC denotes WiFi 5 and so on….
      So they add the theoretical maximum of all the bands (three in this case) and round the number to get to the speed rating. There’s no way anyones going to get 10Gbps transfer speeds on WiFi with this.

    • @4givenoxygenbarez
      @4givenoxygenbarez 6 місяців тому +1

      65 has a slightly faster speed rating, so I imagine it would be a tiny bit better in theory for wireless backhaul or wireless devices but in reality would hardly be noticeable based on specs but I haven’t tried that one yet so can’t say with absolute certainty

    • @landpet

      I did that for a while then switched most of them to my main wifi but some of these mesh systems, I can't remember if this one supports it or not, but they actually have a separate IoT WiFi. I would use that instead. I personally don't use the IoT WiFi cause I switch routers all the time and not every router has that so it would be too much work to reset all my cameras otherwise if I had one mesh, I would definitely use the IoT WiFi for my smart home devices including cameras.
