hehe a minute into the video I said to myself "this ain't gonna be cheap" 😂
@@knifeyonline yea, $2050 for two unit and $3000 for 3 unit,
Yeah I had a moment when I saw the price too
Great device been rocking one for 5 months or so. Only annoying bug is it crashes every 4-6 weeks. Sometime you can just reboot but more often than not it requires a full reset! Hopefully they fix that
WOW they are out of this world COOL, Yeah a little pricey but those speeds are crazy. Thanks T M P.
the 2.5 gb port versions are reasonably priced. would be fine for residential. Finally something thats tempting me away from my Orbi RBR50.
Whoa this is cool.Sadly all these mesh systems are designed to be replaced every 2-3 years, but tp-link is my favourite brand.
$2k to replace in 3 years... that seems pretty scammy
which ISP offers 2.5Gbps in Australia?, I checked every isp not more than 700mbps
I get 950mbps but you can order larger connections for business
NBN business enterprise
The thing I struggled to find was a switch with 10GB ports, they may have 1 or 2, but why not switch where they are all 10GB?
they reserve them for enterprise solutions, where they charge 10 times the price.
@@knifeyonline I want one
@@tarose71 you can find them quite easily, tbh. They're more expensive because, well, they have more expensive equipment onboard. You'd be looking at something like the SX105 from TP-Link. If you actually *need* local network speeds of 10GbE, you can get it, but the hardware on both ends needs to support it. And actually utilise it.
Nice
Video idea: compare the different modem routers of each nbn provider vs retail available routers and other older routers in and outside Australia to identify which provider offers the best deals and which modem router is the best option for Australians.
That is an awesome idea, hmmm I’ll need to figure out the logistics of this
@TechManPat the reason I bring this up the more telecom nbn provider sells the netcom router. This advertises a qos function yet leaves out it is not a smart qos function. Pretty sure non smart qos is a thing from 2008... and most gamers in a household with under a 100mb down 20 up connection you need a smart qos to have a decent chance at playing fps games etc. So why advertise qos when it is outdated tech you are providing if not to mislead the consumer.
You could also note that these routers provided by optus and telstra etc have locked dns's and are sold at a cost to the consumer either by locked in contract or by fee of $200 as in more telecomes case.
Also what was in Optus and telstras head bringing back sagemcom? Like they died out of Australia for a reason in the 90's for a reason why bring them back from the dead?
prices are currently 3x 2,728.00, and 2x $1,710.03. They are fluctuating a bit, it will be interesting to see where they stop!
They will stop when people say .... " No too expensive "
Sorry did I misread? $3k?!?! - I'd rather buy a Ubiquiti system AND pay someone to install it, AND still have a significant portion of that left over.
Don't get me wrong this device pushes the boundaries of what existing *consumer* devices do, but it's charging SMB price, for features that are kinda nutty to put in a residential setting.
Like: Fiber why? - We already have NTDs installed - NBN isn't gonna stop with that? And by the time you're plugging these into something else, you were probably sole trader starting to become a small business and are looking at a small business solution anyway (Ubiquiti being a prime example).
A single 2.5gb makes sense as an uplink, but why 2? A single 10gb makes sense as a downlink for a switch, but again, why 2? Like don't get me wrong more ports are merrier, but you're talking "My first car" kinda money. It's just silly.
Love the content but it feels like some was read from a script
Well I mean, yeah, it is a written review first, made into a video.
