It's a bit of leniency trying makes up for the limited FOV, and very common in first person games, in differing forms. On the money about Wile E. Coyote though.
Just so everyone is aware, this is by far the most complete and in-depth dive into Titanfall's plethora of tech and skips that's ever been done in a format like this. Tomato spent a TON of effort and time with me making sure all the details were correct and re-working the script where needed... and we didn't even cover some of the other niche tech! Just big ups to Tomato for his dedication to accurate and informational content, he's the best.
Not to mention he'd be giving that poor enemy basically the full force of all that 125 Km/h since he stops practically on a *dime* when he kicks them, with practically no momentum even... only thing that would have made this better is if it had sent the dude pinging across the map honestly
25:40 imagine being a guard at a factory just minding your own business and suddenly a dude flying 10000mph comes out of nowhere and uses you as a brace to slow down.
When you took that moment to say something comforting to the viewer, I immediately "put my guard up" as most people on social media say copy pasted hollow precooked lines that they don't mean to people and they make me gag, but that felt genuine, and nice, thanks.
Big props to the runner for doing a truly amazing run, but i really do appreciate tomatoanuses' relatively simple explanation of techs that would take hours for me to understand, all the while being funny and HONESTLY wholesome and caring towards his viewers possible mental distress. Love you, man, keep up the amazing work
@@just_buka its likely all the human actors in the game are part of a class which gives them shared carictaristics. It wouldve been extra work in that case to remove his hitbox. A way to prevent it could have been assigning him to the allied subclass such as your fellow soldiers and pilots but the devs probably gave him the enemy class because it just makes sense and they likely didnt foresee this happening.
Wow. In the viper fight, right before he switched to Ion, he fired a volley of tone tracking rockets that viper dodged, a d you can see them fly off to the left. A second or so before he shot down viper with the laser core, the tracking rockets came back around and hit him. Didn’t think those things had a projectile lifetime that long, or kept tracking after the first attempt.
Honestly this is one of the best FPS game campaign I’ve ever played. The story isn’t anything crazy like bioshock or TLOU, but the character writing is really good and the gameplay is phenomenal. All of the mission design is crazy fun and even in a casual playthrough this game has some of the funnest movement of any game.

Just in case folks are new to the channel and don’t know what “Coyote Time” is: The name is based of Wily Coyote and thus, the cartoon trope he made famous; floating in mid air when you are clearly no longer on a surface. So for the gaming term. Coyote Time is when the player is no longer on a surface yet the have a brief moment to put in inputs that can only work while being on that surface. Like how Wily can run on air a few seconds before falling. An input that he can only do on the surface he was just on yet he continues to do for a bit. I hope I explained it okay. I’m not a speed runner so the terminology isn’t in my normal vernacular but I tried. Feel free to correct me or elaborate further.

I thought it was a Better Help ad or something at first. The first one ended and I was like wow, that’s really cool. Then as soon as the next one started I was like “Ah hah! Ive always found the change in momentum and pace while speedrunning funny in like cod games and simmilar, how your character is super weary from getting knocked out once or twice, getting shot 20 times over, getting less than a couple minutes of rest in cutscenes and then just flying at 10000 miles an hour. That moment around 1:03:45, I felt that. I felt all of that. I know that path one has to take to be able to say that, but also share in the triumph it comes from. That’s the words of a person who has a dark chapter in their life, but got to the other side and never let it hurt them again. It takes a special personality and support for a person to break through something like that, yet coming out of it not corrupted with hatred or loathing, but enlightened with the ability to turn that darkness into unending compassion. You didn’t just survive, you took the pain and used it to forge a better world.
I love how most of the time our narrator is serious and explains in the utmost detail only to then do a 180 and start goofing around with the player, did not expect to be learning about a section one second only to be betting on a robot fight the next, love this channel

I thought it was a Better Help ad or something at first. The first one ended and I was like wow, that’s really cool. Then as soon as the next one started I was like “Ah hah! Here’s the ad, that’s a clever approach.” And then no ad. I definitely don’t think I’ve heard anything like that from a UA-camr either.
It almost made me tear up to be honest. It always does.
Ive always found the change in momentum and pace while speedrunning funny in like cod games and simmilar, how your character is super weary from getting knocked out once or twice, getting shot 20 times over, getting less than a couple minutes of rest in cutscenes and then just flying at 10000 miles an hour. The enemies would be like “i just nailed that guy in the chest 20 times, *ZOOM* what in the-“

How does this not have more views? You have not only made something with so much detail that I feel capable of doing/practicing this but also you maintained humor as well as plot points that kept this video interesting.

I love that you get speedtunners to do a run specifically for the videos. It means they dont have to tey for a world record or anything and can have fun screwing around like teying a 360 no-scope. Makes for a much more fun video

We live in an age were most UA-camrs call themselves "content creators" and viewers are seen as mere statistics, it is absolutely lovely to hear a heartfelt speech from someone in such an unexpected place, because it's the kind of behaviour i would like to see more of in this world
For the 10+ years i've been on UA-cam, i have a small tradition of always trying to hide a little message of encouragement in my descriptions, and it always makes me smile when i see other UA-camrs also try to share a genuine and human message like that, not about statistics, not about engagement, but about something that is truly heartfelt, especially because maybe it can reach someone that truly needs it (a lot of us have been in dark places, sometimes, that surprising bit of encouragement can make all the difference)

That moment around 1:03:45, I felt that. I felt all of that. I know that path one has to take to be able to say that, but also share in the triumph it comes from. That’s the words of a person who has a dark chapter in their life, but got to the other side and never let it hurt them again. It takes a special personality and support for a person to break through something like that, yet coming out of it not corrupted with hatred or loathing, but enlightened with the ability to turn that darkness into unending compassion. You didn’t just survive, you took the pain and used it to forge a better world.
I love how most of the time our narrator is serious and explains in the utmost detail only to then do a 180 and start goofing around with the player, did not expect to be learning about a section one second only to be betting on a robot fight the next, love this channel
