Great video I think I’m gonna buy one for my mp5. I’m a bit confused what the booster does. My mp5 has trilug adapter and direct thread option, if I buy the omega 9k, will I need to buy the booster to run it on my gun?
The booster system is only for use on browning action handguns to allow them to properly cycle. For anything with a fixed barrel wither get a tri lug adapter to replace the booster unit or go direct thread or some other qd mounting system.
They do rate it for 7.62x39, in case anyone is wondering. Email from SilencerCo: "Hello *******, We rate the Omega 9K down to 7" with the 7.62x39 and supersonic ammo. You can go as short as you would like with subsonic ammo. It will work great for you! Let me know if you have any questions."
Pretty common on pistol cans. There are a lot of different thread pitches out there for handguns so it's just easier to ship the can without it and let the end user get their own booster.
7.62x39 is gonna be a no go and silencers doesn't not recommend it. Pressures are too high. It can do 9x39 from what I've heard but you need to make sure barrel alignment is perfect because the bore size is just barely enough to do it. Pretty sure 38/357 will also be a no go as those are too large of a diameter.
They don't rate it for 7.62 or 5.56 only because they sell other rifle silencers... I have heard great things with use on full size rifles in those calibers
300 black out is also a much lower pressure cartridge that 556 or 762 even super sonic. My suspision is the main reason that it is not rated for mor powerful cartidges it that the mounting setup on the can cannot support it. On a normal can there are far more threads in the back of the can for attaching a mounting device.
@@fluffywarhampster not really, its rated for full auto supersonic 300 blackout on an 8 in barrel, this is much more pressure than a .308 on a 16 or 18 in barrel. I shoot all calibers up to 30-06 through my 9K and its great. a very sturdy well made can.
@@Wingman77tws it's also just a problem of silencers not wanting to rate it for everything under the sun. Just because it can do 308 and not explode doesn't mean there aren't a million other cans better for that job.
No you dont want to use a booster on a subgun as the barrel does not move but the suppressor still will. This will only serve to work the can off the threads. If you are going to run this on a sub gun use a booster with a fixed barrel spacer, a direct thread mount or a qd system like tri-lug or Q plan-b
I have heard if you have a “squeaky clean” record you get approved around 90 days, hopefully this is true and seeing you got yours in 3 months gives me hope.
@@trevino762 from what i understand there isnt really any truth to that. The atf put out a statement a couple months back that the would be moving individual form 4s and simple trusts to a seperate pile for expediting the process. The logic being that if you have a trust with only a few trustees and limited nfa items that that trust should not be held up by other more complex trusts. From what i understand thought they have mostly stopped doing this because of complaints. I use a silencer shop single shot trust so they basically put me in the same pile as individuals.
FluffyWarHampster Man I hope that’s the case brother, I submitted two form 4s, one in December and the other this month, both as individual. Hopefully it don’t take long, worst case scenario the average 8-9 month wait.

Just got my Stamp today for mine after about 9 months and can't wait to try it on my AP5.
Sp5?
@@rylanmartin9040 Mine is a clone from Century arms called an AP5.
Just got mine today. It was sitting at the dealer for 7 months waiting on approval. It took 233 days from purchase date
Dope, hopefully this has worked well on your ap5.
@@pewpewwithtodd8077 how’s it performing on the AP5? Looking to get one. How’s the backward pressure?
I jus purchased one today
Veeeery upset that booster wasn’t included
Pretty common with pistol cans as there are soon many different barrel thread pitches from 1/2x28 and 13x1lh etc
Yep... i already have spent $900 with stamp... cant use it though until i spend another $80...

works with 7.62x39, 9x39, 38/357, and others as well

Does this come with the direct-thread mount in the box?
Yes, the include a direct thread 5/8ths x 24 mount in the box
It does do 7.63x39
Yeah once, after that you'll be cleaning up the peices of your can....
Do I need booster for mounting on a handgun with treaded barrel ?
yes
Any more video reviews on the can?
Planning on doing a follow up review soon. I want to get the round count a bit higher and try some other accessories first.
Thanks. I want to pull the trigger on one but I want to be 100% sure

A little over 3 month, silencer shop single shot trust.
