Oh dear 😢 So sorry about the shock at the post office when sending my prize all the way to South Africa. I promise to put the yarn to good use in honour of your dear father in law. I really do love watching you and appreciate your kindness so much. May God continue to bless you and your lovely family. Much love Irene
Hi Ruth, Thank you for the time you give to us, especially the word of the Lord. You are a beautiful person, and i do hope your foot feels easier soon. I definitely think the blue yarn for the shawl and most definitely the Cardigan. I will keep you in my prayers and condolances to you and your family. ✝️🙏
Ruth-as my grandmother used to say, you are a sight for sore eyes”. Here in the USA the climate of hate and division is so strong. I’ve been so depressed just thinking about all that is so wrong. And then being a woman in the workplace (working via a screen) the men are so horrible with sexism and discounting everything we say, yet taking credit for our work. The last several hours of the evening I knit just to save my brain from going to mush. I wish I had your talent but the simple items I knit to give away are fine. Next year I’m going to branch out and try a sweater. Your sweater is stunning. I love oversized sweaters as they look so nice and don’t require being messed with. I had a favorite that I wore for 19 years-weight up and down she never failed me. Finally it had so many holes under the arms and had become so thin she had to go. I vote that you make a cardigan . Recently I donated 25 suits and now use cardigans as soft suiting-good with dresses, pants and skirts . And they cover up my bra fat from showing. Ruth, what is it with yarn that has so many breaks and little knots holding it together. I have bought a lot of Rowan and the breaks are awful. It drives me crazy and as you know that yarn is expensive. I will not buy more . Yes I e written to them and not received an answer. How do you use yarn with lots of breaks? Never change - you are 1 if a kind. Today I will add design feature. S mistake to my commonplace book for a good laugh. Have a magical week with the son next week-maybe a knitting lesson could be useful for him-tell him to think of it as learning to tie knots like they do in scouting -it could come in handy.
Oh that is frustrating. I don’t trust the knots so I cut the yarn. I either split splice it or use the clasped weft join. Lots of UA-cam videos on this methods. Happy knitting x
I love that hymn, too, grew up singing it, the house on the rock song, too. I love your bright yellow, but if you're leaning toward blue, you know you'll wear it. Ditto the cardigan, super cute, but if you feel drawn to a pullover, that's what will get worn. Happy knitting either way. 🙂
Dear Ruth, always a pleasure when you release a new episode! Thank you for sharing all of your Beautiful knits!❤ I truly Love and look forward to your words of faith! May God continue to bless you and your family! In regards to your new colorwork… I say do the sweater since you have a newer cardi in a similar color! 😊
I really like the cardigan. It’s seems to make the yoke stand out a little more for some reason. I like the blue yarn option. I always enjoy your sweet ending words. Such comfort in Gods Word.
I just adore your channel, a good long chat, a second cup of something, and lots of knitting is just what I love best. I enjoy the fancy productions too, but something here warms my heart more than yarn and patterns ever could. Thanks!😊
Love sitting and chatting with you. It’s lovely knitting time for me. If it were me I’d make the cardigan. And for the shawl I’d choose the blueish one. Whatever you decide they both will be so beautiful you cannot go wrong. Hope the foot is healthy nicely. Continuing prayers.
Your videos are never too long Ruth. I’m into cardigans right now and for the shawl I would definitely do that amazing blue. Had a lovely, entertaining time with you and your sharing at the end was very motivating for me personally. ❤❤❤
What a joy to visit ❤ with you this morning. So glad you are on the mend. Still praying for your healing. Since you have a cardigan in the rust color why not make the sweater - the indigo shawl would look lovely on you! Certainly hope you managed while your husband was out of town.
Ruth, my vote is for whatever you reach for the most in the cold winter months. Do you wear a cardigan more? Or do you wear a pullover more? That’s what you should knit and I would go with the blue for the shawl. Thank you so much for your message. In the end. It was perfect and wonderful and a great reminder. I will never turn off early! I love your messages.
Decisions, decisions. My votes- 1. Pullover…initially I was leaning cardigan until you mentioned knitting one recently in the same color. 2. Blue, it’s like a neutral.
You start with, "Hello, I am Ruth and I love to knit." And I follow with, "Hello, Ruth, and I love knitting along with you." Can you hear me all the way from Canada? Gorgeous knits. Love your sweater, love the toes of your husband's socks, and of course, your Back to Richhill shawl. Happy knitting, dear lady. You bring so much joy. Enjoy the yarn show!
Great to see you today Ruth. Glad to hear your foot is on the mend. Now if I could only get rid of my boomerang cold 🤧🤧🤧 I'd be team cardigan & the blue for the shawl. No doubt it'll reappear when you put the last stitches in the new one. At least thats what happens round here 🤣🤣🤣 Well done on all the socks going to the hospice. A great service. Hope you have a great time at the yarn festival. Take care, best wishes from 🇮🇪
Those licorice allsorts socks would make me smile every time I wore them. I would have given them to Eva too. If I was making something and my son wanted them, I would give them to him too. I get just as much pleasure making something for someone else who appreciates it as I do for myself, if not more. I love your husband's socks. They made me laugh. I have to make a pair for my husband like that. He says he would wear pink and orange ones. It wouldn't matter to him. Home would probably enjoy wearing them in front of our sister in law because she took a hairy knce that my husband was wearing a "pink" shirt (that was clearly red and white pinstripe.) I absolutely love that sweater with the flowered yoke. I've had it bookmarked for a while.
I’ve been sitting here watching you and knitting with Kinross 4 ply and really enjoying a colourwork hat! It was as if you could see me when you were talking about this wool! 🤣 Loved seeing all your knitting today and loving the colours. I think your husbands socks with rainbow toes are genius and I’m going to remember them when I’m next asked for grey! Glad your injury is on the mend x
Hi Ruth, thanks for another lovely chatty episode. I really like your new Shetland wool week sweater. I would choose the sweater & blue yarn for your shawl. I hope your foot heals soon & you're able to get back to being active again. ❤
Hi, Ruth! I’ve been enjoying your podcast for years now and love every minute I spend with you. I use the air pods that go directly into my ears and never have the rustling or noise from outside ever bothered me. I vote sweater with the teal color substation and blue for the shawl. Take care and am looking forward to your next visit.
Adore your husband's socks 😂 Blue yarn and cardigan get my vote. Thanks for the charity info. I am looking to donate all my handknits and I am having a terrible time finding charities 😢. I have for 2025 decided to read the entire Bible to enhance my faith ❤✝️
You’re making all of my favourite kinds of garments at the moment Ruth…I’m loving knitting vicariously through you 🥰❤ My votes are for the cardi and the blue yarn, but you should make whatever makes you happy at the time. Thanks for your lovely company this weekend x
Hi Ruth. Never apologise for a long podcast. The time just flies by. Super amount of knitting and your sweater is gorgeous. Knit the sweater and go blue for your shawl. Thank you for your message at the end. It always is a blessing. Hopefully not too long until the next one. Praying your foot heals soon. God Bless❤
I love the blue color and the cardigan is beautiful. You will make a beautiful project. I love your rambling and always appreciate you sharing God with us. ❤️
I absolutely adore your husband's socks! Well done! I would dearly miss my Bible as I am in it every day. This reminds me to store his words on my heart so I have them always.
Lovely knits, especially your gorgeous sweater!!! That's a lot of socks!!!! That pop of colour on your hubby's 🤣 I'd do the cardigan. Very classy over a dark coloured dress for the winter season. Hope you foot heals quickly....but it does give you the reason to relax and knit. Thanks for sharing. Take Care.
For you I think the jumper (although I'd do the cardigan for myself) and definitely the soft blue for the shawl. I love your waffling and all the things that you share, thank you x
Hi Ruth lovely podcast as always 🥰 and thanks for the flower power fund inspiration! My votes are for the cardigan (love that button band detail) and the blue x
Hi Ruth, your podcasts are never too long. I think you should make the pull over and I think you should use the blue yarn for the other project. I wanted to say thank you very much for giving us the devotion today. It really spoke to me. We just put our house up for sale a few days ago And I feel my foundation moving. I’m going to retire this year and we’re looking for a new place to live and it can get worrisome. But my husband and I both trust that God is going to take care of us and put us exactly where he wants us to be.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful knits, After watching your podcasts, I always want to cast on several of the items you have shown. I especially like the blue yarn for the shawl you want to knit, although the yellow is so you!
Hello Ruth. As always, another really enjoyable video. To be frank, you “ooze” kindness and happiness which is totally infectious - I always feel as though I have had a “jab of joy” after watching your videos, so am already looking forward to the next one. Have a great week and I hope you are fully back on your feet soon.
Hi Ruth...you are just so lovely!! i laughed so much with your giggling at your husband's socks!! too funny, but I love them!. I am jealous that you do so many shawls.....i love them too! I think either the cardigan or the pullover will be just beautiful. i think you should make what you think you will wear the most. or do one of each in different colors! LOL
Ruth another lovely podcast which could never be too long. I loved your new sweater and the liquorice all sorts sock. The sweets always remind me of my dad As for your pondering on what to make I think the shawl in the blue would be lovely But either for the sweater or the cardigan depending on what you would reach for the most on a cold day. I always watch the end bit. Often God will jog a thought or you will quote a verse that I’ve come across really recently and I will pay attention as I know God is using that to direct my thoughts
Hi Ruth, I was glad to see your video come up, I love listening to you as I knit in the mornings with my coffee. I hope your foot continues to improve. As a fellow menopausal women, I vote for the cardigan, I love the ease of getting them on and off when those hot flushes hit. As for the shawl (which I added to my queue, cause I obviously missed it the first time you did it) I vote for the blue yarn. Take care and look forward to your next video. xx
I really love both the jumper and cardigan. I would make the jumper. Think about which one you would wear the most. Of the blue and yellow yarn, I would use the blue even though the yellow is very nice. Love your podcast you are so lucky with all the yarn festivals in the UK. Where I live in Canada, I am too far to go to any, they would all involve flying somewhere. The only one I have ever been to was Yarndale when I was in the UK in 2022. Love the ending of your podcasts, with what you like to share.
Ruth, love your knits. Those socks, though for your husband, just cracked me up! Should be fun to watch him open those😉. I think you should do cardigan, but it’s your knitting and you can knit what you want. I love cardigans, because they so easily come on and off. I do love that blue for your shawl. Just my two cents. Btw, your imperfectly knit knits look perfect from here.
I love your personal design's, I do them too 😂 My choice would be the cardigan in colour work, but both are beautiful. For the shawl, I'd go for the gorgeous blue. Thank you for sharing your faith. I liked your comment about religion being different from personal faith, so true. Thanks again for your cheery podcast 😊
Another cheering podcast - thank you. Im voting for the blue, and the cardigan. I love the epilogue and always appreciate your witness for Jesus. What a hymn ❤
Surely I had a good time watching you ! Thank you for another episode, they continue to make my day. Your sweater is beautiful, and looks really good on you 🤩 I love that shawl as well; the brighter, the better, right ? Though for the yellow or blue - I'd go for the blue one. Much as I love the yellow, I guess that the blue will give a better stitch definition and show off the pattern more. As for sweater or cardigan - I'd go for the sweater. To be frank, I don't really like the cardigan version, it seems that it júst won't close up all the way.. What a lovely collection of yellow socks ! I'm sorry to hear about the issue with the red yarn, but that sock is gorgeous ! That pattern is going on my wishlist for sure ! Thank you for the food for thought at the end as well. I hope your foot will soon be all healed, and the week with your teen will be nice and all.
Love your podcast…….the longer the better, I say. I do take breaks to get things done, but hay-ho. Having just finished 2 cardigans for friends and having 2 on the needles, I’d go for the sweater, and anything blue is wonderful in my book. Yellow is my favorite color too, but I don’t look good in it, so always seem to be knitting other colors. ( broken bones form a callus of new bone in about 10 days, then the fx is stabilized and doesn’t hurt so much). Sounds like your fx is mending well. Have a wonderful 2 weeks until we see you again!
Cardigan Blue Next time you wonder about grams for colorwork check people's Ravelry notes. Some people are nice about updating with exactly how much yarn they used in the project. Prayers for your healing!
Thank you Ruth I appreciate your whole podcast and find your thoughts about faith so refreshing thank you. Your words are having an impact on my own journey with the lord.
Ruth, I so love your channel, you are so kind and down to earth. I wish I could sit and stitch with you for a while. The Copper Conifer socks are wonderful, I would not ever notice that little unique feature that you have added! Your sweater is so pretty also.
Love your colourwork jumper, worth all the hard work.😍I think you should make the colour work cardigan next and use the blue yarn for your new shawl cast on.👍🧶🧶
Very entertaining as usual Ruth, just loved every minute of it especially your wonderful message at the end. Your husbands socks are awesome, I think the cardigan would be perfect to knit and I love the blue for the shawl. Thankyou again for making my day xx
Hi Ruth - Another lovely episode, I get excited every time I see you've posted a new one. :) For your decisions, I am liking the cardigan and for the redo of your shawl that went missing I like the blue yarn. Happy knitting and I hope your leg heals soon.
Ruth!!! I laughed out loud over your husband’s socks…you’re such a gem!! Also, your Eva is a beautiful young lady…can’t imagine she’s shy..,ever! But she’s also a gem since she’s a hand knit sock girl!👏❤️👏❤️
Hi Ruth. Live the podcast as usual. Pleased the foot is starting to feel better. Definitely team liquorice allsorts. I'm also doing Knit for Bone Cancer so just giving and sponsor form set up and doing well. Good luck ❤
I so enjoyed your podcast. You are an amazing person and mother - our kids are all special and need our love. I think a sweater and blue for the shawl. Thank you.
The book, Then Sings My Soul, by Robert J. Morgan shares a collection of hymns with their back stories. It says How Firm a Foundation’s author is unknown, it simply bore the letter K. It was published with a selection of hymns in 1787 and was originally called Exceedingly Great and Precious Promises. I vote cardigan 😊
I love the toes on your husband’s socks!😂 I also know what you mean about postage costs, I am in Canada. I sent tea towels that I wove to two of my aunts ( I am giving one to all my aunts) so we are in the same province and it cost me 40$ Canadian! Crazy. I have to say that sweater you are wearing in your video is just stunning 😍
Love the sweater, glad to hear you are recovering. Enjoy your time at your yarn festival. I think the shawl would look beautiful in the blue and the Porty Cardigan. Looking forward to seeing what you decide.
Not sure if the yarn show will be over by the time you see this but have you looked into renting a knee scooter? You kneel on it and it has a steering handle like a scooter. It would be so much easier than crutches for a yarn show! I'd say the blue for your shawl and I'd go with a sweater since I hate working knits in pieces and sewing them together! lol I love your flower yolked sweater it's such a happy knit!
Loved it Ruth absolutely loved it , also your jumper too , both wools are gorgeous but think the yellow one for the shawl and the cardigan as you can have a Tee under it blouse ect although the jumper is beautiful to so maybe. Knit one of each 😂😂❤
Fabulous to see you here tonight Ruth. Love all your makes as always especially your sweater. I would go with the cardigan, ladies of a certain age like myself sometimes need to peel off a layer 😂.xx❤🧶, hope the foot’s better soon
Ruth! I love your sweater! The color work looks painted and how beautiful. I have such a hard time with bottom up sweaters and somehow I'm knitting one now and the last one I knit was as well. For some reason the yokes are always huge and I end up redoing at least twice. Great job!
It was great to see you again, Ruth. It's always a pleasure and I so enjoy all of your projects. Good for you to put a little color in the toes of your husband's socks😍. As for the sweater or the cardigan, my vote would be for the sweater...and the yellow or blue shawl...that's a tough one but I do love that shade of yellow....thanks for sharing the Word with us too....take care of yourself
Oh dear 😢 So sorry about the shock at the post office when sending my prize all the way to South Africa. I promise to put the yarn to good use in honour of your dear father in law. I really do love watching you and appreciate your kindness so much. May God continue to bless you and your lovely family. Much love Irene
Oh don't worry. It was worth it xx
The devotional part is my favorite of the podcast. Refreshes me!
Hi, many thanks for sharing from God’s Word, an encouragement and a blessing, love the words of that hymn 💝
Ruth-as my grandmother used to say, you are a sight for sore eyes”. Here in the USA the climate of hate and division is so strong. I’ve been so depressed just thinking about all that is so wrong. Well said. Election time is always such a negative time.

I laughed out loud when you shared your husband’s gray socks. Those toes! My vote is sweater and blue for the shawl.
Gotta go with the blue for the shawl. The yellow would be fun but the blue will be stunning! ❤
Hi Ruth, I absolutely love love love that beautiful colored shawl. I would wrap that around me and wear it everywhere! Great video.
What a joy to visit ❤ with you this morning. So glad you are on the mend. Still praying for your healing.
Since you have a cardigan in the rust color why not make the sweater - the indigo shawl would look lovely on you!

I love those old songs. We sang them growing up. Now they want to change them.
Hi Ruth - I would go with the blue yarn for the shawl and make the cardigan. But whichever you choose they’ll be gorgeous xx
Hi Ruth, thanks for another lovely chatty episode. I really like your new Shetland wool week sweater.
I would choose the sweater & blue yarn for your shawl.

What a beautiful color work sweater!!! It looks great on you. :) Really lovely work. You make me want to knit one!
I love your colorwork sweater, so pretty. As for your next color work project, I say cardigan.
You made me laugh so hard with the socks for your husband. What a great idea 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Ruth...you are just so lovely!! i laughed so much with your giggling at your husband's socks!! too funny, but I love them!. I am jealous that you do so many shawls.....i love them too! Oh I love the yellow. Would brighten up the winter
I really love both the jumper and cardigan. I would make the jumper. Think about which one you would wear the most.

I absolutely love how your sweater turned out, including the yoke “gathers” 💛
Another lovely knitty chat, thankyou! Your sweater is beautiful 😍 xx
Your new sweater is just so lovely! Thank you for being so genuine and sharing a bit of knitting humor! I look forward to each new episode!
I'm partial to cardigans these days. Your knitting is beautiful! Hope your foot is healing nicely.
I like your sweater results better than the one shown in the pattern.
I vote for cardigan and blue 💙💛
Cardigan
Blue
Next time you wonder about grams for colorwork check people's Ravelry notes. Some people are nice about updating with exactly how much yarn they used in the project.
Prayers for your healing!
Thank you Ruth I appreciate your whole podcast and find your thoughts about faith so refreshing thank you. Your words are having an impact on my own journey with the lord.
So happy to hear this x
Ruth, I so love your channel, you are so kind and down to earth. I wish I could sit and stitch with you for a while. The Copper Conifer socks are wonderful, I would not ever notice that little unique feature that you have added! Your sweater is so pretty also.
Thank you so much!
Love your colourwork jumper, worth all the hard work.😍I think you should make the colour work cardigan next and use the blue yarn for your new shawl cast on.👍🧶🧶
I say the blue for the I. Creamer shawl 😊
Very entertaining as usual Ruth, just loved every minute of it especially your wonderful message at the end. Your husbands socks are awesome, I think the cardigan would be perfect to knit and I love the blue for the shawl. Thankyou again for making my day xx
Love the sweater. I think the blue is gorgeous for the shawl. You should knit whatever you would wear more re: the sweater versa the cardigan.
Hi Ruth - Another lovely episode, I get excited every time I see you've posted a new one. :) For your decisions, I am liking the cardigan and for the redo of your shawl that went missing I like the blue yarn. Happy knitting and I hope your leg heals soon.
Your new sweater is beautiful. I love color work. I vote cardigan and blue. 🧶❤️
Hi Ruth, my votes are for a cardigan and the blue yarn!
Your husband’s socks are wonderful! ‘Hats off’ to you for your perseverance!
Hi Ruth - the cardigan would be my choice but either one will be wonderful.
Ruth!!! I laughed out loud over your husband’s socks…you’re such a gem!! Also, your Eva is a beautiful young lady…can’t imagine she’s shy..,ever! But she’s also a gem since she’s a hand knit sock girl!👏❤️👏❤️
She has really struggled wiyh social anxiety especially after covid but so proud of her steping out of her comfort zone.
Hi Ruth. Live the podcast as usual. Pleased the foot is starting to feel better. Definitely team liquorice allsorts. I'm also doing Knit for Bone Cancer so just giving and sponsor form set up and doing well. Good luck ❤
I vote for the Cardigan and the Blue yarn for the shawl.
Your sweater is beautiful!
I so enjoyed your podcast. You are an amazing person and mother - our kids are all special and need our love. I think a sweater and blue for the shawl. Thank you.
Always love your podcast!
I would recommend a cardigan; and for the shawl the blue color; it would really look great with your hair 🩶💙
Hahaha! I laughed so much at your husband's socks 😂
I am really hoping I will be a bit more mobile by then. The cardigan is steeked which helps.
Loved it Ruth absolutely loved it , also your jumper too , both wools are gorgeous but think the yellow one for the shawl and the cardigan as you can have a Tee under it blouse ect although the jumper is beautiful to so maybe. Knit one of each 😂😂❤
I vote for the blue. Absolutely.
Do the sweater and use the blue yarn for the shawl. Your devotional are always a blessing to listen to.
I so love your podcasts. I am also a Christian and always love your sharing of the Word with us.
Fabulous to see you here tonight Ruth. Love all your makes as always especially your sweater. I would go with the cardigan, ladies of a certain age like myself sometimes need to peel off a layer 😂.xx❤🧶, hope the foot’s better soon
I am leaning that way.
Ruth! I love your sweater! The color work looks painted and how beautiful. I have such a hard time with bottom up sweaters and somehow I'm knitting one now and the last one I knit was as well. For some reason the yokes are always huge and I end up redoing at least twice. Great job!
I always measure my upper bust.
Lovely, lovely Ruth! Wonderful, long rambling and as always, sharing at the end is the best part! ❤ God bless! 🤗
Lovely episode, hope the foot continues to improve. Sweater and Blue are my answers but as you say you'll make the best decision yourself.
Another lovely episode….enjoy the upcoming yarn festival. Thanks for your words of wisdom
Love the color of the Floof Fibers in the Flying Fox shawl! 😊❤
