Hi lovely Ruth. Please read, and reread, all these comments - and realize, know in your heart, that we all love you just as you are! Long podcasts, scattered menopausal brain - whatever and however - we love YOU!!!!!❤️. Please don’t apologize or self deprecate - we wouldn’t keep coming back if we didn’t love your heart, your joy, your fun, your faith. May 2024 grant you a reprieve from menopausal brain drain. Sit with the knowing that you are loved by us all, as you encourage us to know that God loves us. 🙏🤗🤩🥰🇨🇦
I couldn’t have said it better---we love you, Ruth! Praying for you and for 2024 to be a better year for you. I think I’m a little ahead of you in my menopause journey and while I know it affects people differently, I can say that it gets better. Take care! Trust in the One who made you so fearfully and wonderfully!
Dear Ruth. I know exactly what you are going through,. I went into full blown menopause head first when I was 40. There was no warning or anything. The hot flashes, the brain fog, the mood swings etc. It was awful. And talk about eating!! I was a very small, picky eater all my life. Then , menopause, and I ate everything that wasn't nailed down, My mother used to say, "I never saw you eat one plateful, let alone two"! I had to go on HRT for about a year. It was a God send. The doctor said that my hormones were spiking and then dropping like a stone. He kept a close eye on me with the HRT as Mom had breast cancer. Hope you get along better in the future. I still stay away from cinnamon and peppermint (the hot flashes are terrible from them). I still have the odd hot flash (I'm 71).
I have been on HRT for nearly 3 yrs but I am not absorbing it!! I am just about to call it a day but trying one last combination. Peppermint is a God send for me. Funny how everyone is different x
Hi Ruth, Thank you for sharing all of your finished objects. They are gorgeous. I love the yellow in your new shawl. I have 3 skeins of yellow yarn I bought when visiting Ireland. I think I may copy you. :). I met you over zoom with Rachel and Jo. Menopause is tough. It causes many mixed emotions. I can't take anything because of a prior Cancer diagnosis so i completely understand. Thank you for today's devotion. I live by Romans 8:28 All things work together for those who trust and serve the Lord. We have to count on him and not on ourselves. Thank you so much for the Reminder. Love, Kim from California
Thank you for your Christian messages at the end of your podcasts. God is using you, for His word will not return void. Happy New Year to you and your family! May God bless you.
Ruth, I am so glad I don't knit for perfection either, and if people can't appreciate the work that goes into a pair of handknitted socks, then they should try knitting for themselves! Lol I just love your podcast and your ramblings on about knitting and such, we are both home with cold/flu thing that is going around in Ontario, Canada! I have not been well enough to knit anything. Just ripped out a few half started colourwork mitts & having a listen to you. Finally think I am on the mend & picking up some stitches for a thumb. All the best In the Nrw Year!
Happy New Year dear Ruth may Our Lord be with you and your family in the new year 🙏 Thank you for your closing message it always inspires me and reminds me of all the beautiful promises that are in His Word 😊 I am looking forward to see what you will cast on next. I will be casting on the Tulip sweater but Melody Hoffmann on the New Year’s Day 😊
Thank you for all the spiritual encouragement! You are a blessing to us and remind us of the truths we know but sometimes lose sight of! But God is good. He knows our needs and he will supply them. ❤️❤️
Thank you, Ruth for your closing thoughts. This is a lesson I have to learn over and over and over again. It is so hard to surrender your life and not try to take back control. You are not alone in your struggle and I look forward to this next year and knowing That I will fall back again and again. I also have faith that I will return to God each time.
Hi Ruth. Thank you very much for your podcast and I hope you and your family have a healthy and blessed 2024. I LOVE the shawl (even though it is not my colours). It is beautiful. Thank you for being so honest about your Christian life. I think we can all identify with it. There are times when we just don't feel close to God and we all know who moved. Hoping you have better days ahead and that we all commit to being the best we can for God this year. Love and best wishes. x
Thank you, Ruth, for your open and honest testimony. ❤ I've had a rough year with anxiety, but i will not give up on relying on the Lord to be my strength and help. I completely trust in Him. 🥰
Another lovely podcast!! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and a wee bit of your life!! Love it and love you!! God bless you and yours in 2024 and beyond!!
I'm so thankful for you. They are so few podcasts that donate to charities and focus on others' needs. Shortly after starting to watch the twinset and purl podcast, we found out that my husband has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. My focus has been on knitting hats for chemo patients, but I will be working also ❤on my Twinset and purl patterns. Thank you for sharing your heart and struggles. The God that brought us together 54 years ago is the same God that gives us His strength to walk daily in His perfect plan.
Thanks Ruth. Fabulous podcast. You quoted almost every verse (especially Issiah) which were our verses while our son was Ill and subsequently died. Thank you for the reminder. I keep having to remind myself of my first realisation after I committed my life to Christ which is SECURITY in Jesus. 🙏❤️🌻xx
Hi Ruth we love you just the way you are please don’t change xx You have such a kind heart and lovely nature and your chat is so welcome here xx Looking forward to 2024 and more long chatty episodes they brighten my days or even a couple off days 😂😂 xx
Ruth, Thank you so much for another wonderful podcast. I love everything you have made and enjoyed seeing each one. Your podcasts are never too long! Thank you so much for the reminder of Bible verses I know and have claimed many times. I needed to hear them again today! You are a blessing! 🥰
Nothing on your needles? Wow! Now you can start the year on a fresh new knitting quest. I love your podcast, keep up the great work! Thank you for your heartfelt discussion at the end of your podcast. Very well said. I will be praying for you. God is with us, we are never alone. Happy New Year!!
Hello Ruth, I love your videos. You’re a sweet lady. I’m having dreadful hot flashes also and I’m put off knitting sweaters. I have no idea when they will stop lol I love the sock patterns and I’ve favorited them in Ravelry.
Oh sweet Ruth! I love your podcast because I dearly love you! You are my comfort on so many days . I have written to you and you have replied with your beautiful heart and wise words of comfort. Tonight on New Years Eve- I sit with you and my knitting. Just the best time!! Your sharing of Gods word at the end is always the pot of gold! I so look forward to see what stash stars will emerge in 2024 from Your needles & I am envious you cleared your needles!! I’ve been through the ‘mean pause’ as I called it- and this too shall pass. Sending hugs to you and holding you in my prayers. Xoxox. Happy New Year. P.S love Hanna’s Happy Space and your recent ‘visit’ on it! ❤
You look absolutely beautiful in that stunning blue sweater. Great call on choosing your yarn and the color. I love your podcasts. Always get giddy when I see you've posted. Have a wonderful New Year!
Don’t ever change. Speaking from the 60+ crowd, I appreciate knowing that someone else younger than me is going through the hormonal changes that life brings us women. (Along with the lessons from our mothers about our monthly cycles should have come a talk in our 30s about PMS and all the “fun” that goes along with it.) You are truly a treasure to me and many others. You’re on a bashed willingness to share your faith is a testimony to your walk with Christ 0:02 . Often, the heartfelt bit at the end of your Never-too-Long videos is just what I need at that moment. Blessings to you and your family in 2024
Hello Ruth, it was so good to see you, you are the first podcast I watched in 2024* You made me laugh, shed a tear and smile lots. I did stop and stare at you when you said "I have nothing on the needles, no Wips" i was like what do you mean, no wips haha.I do so thoroughly enjoy your podcats, chatty, long and all in between, Love everything. All the best for 2024, take care.
You are so precious! Your podcast is a wonderful ministry. I look forward to your message every time! Your knitting is amazing but you are the gift. God has surely anointed you! ❤
How can it be 😲 no WIPS I’m sure that rectified itself very quickly. Thanks Ruth for another wonderful podcast. Whenever I’m a bit down, grumpy or feeling ungrateful I click on another of your podcast - works every time. Looking forward to 2024 and another year of all your shenanigans to cheer and motivate me
Hi Ruth, I watched this New Years morning with a cup of coffee. What a great way to start the day and year. I wish you could you see yourself from the outside … you’re so uplifting and joyful. To a wonderful 2024 …see you on the next one
Another fantastic and entertaining podcast. Enjoy all your beautiful knits. That shawl is the ultimate! Thank you so much for all you give to this community. You make us kinder. I hope this year brings you good health and inner peace. Hugs ❤
Your socks are beautiful! You couldn’t have shocked me more with your accomplishment of nothing on your needles! What fun to plan and play with your patterns and stash. Thank you for your transparency, the passage from Romans was so inspirational. May God bless you and your ministry.
Ruth, can you share what your favourite scripture is? I always love sitting and having a tea or two with you while you share your knits! We just got a puppy in November and use a strip of bells at our door that she uses to go potty. We started her by ringing the bells every time we went out to take her potty, now she rings the bells when she needs to tell us she has to go potty. It's just a strip of sleigh bells on a strip of poly twill webbing that loops over the door knob. She had two accidents on our tiled floor within a couple days of getting her and hasn't had one since! We've only had her since the 24th of November! Have a fantastic, healthy, crafty and faith filled New Year!
How lovely to have cleared the needles ready to start afresh. I wish! Thankyou for your podcasts which I've come to engage in last few months. I'm not particularly religious but I so enjoy your comforting words to end with. Wishing you a happy 2024 and peace where there needs to be in this world ❤
Dear Ruth, tonight was supposed to be a dinner for 6 of us but illness stopped it from happening. Thank you for being here this evening to keep me company. It cheered me up. Looking forward to 2024 and watching your podcast thru the year. As always, thank you for your sweet thoughts and message at the end of the podcast. It is always seems to be appropriate for me at the time I am watching. Blessings to you and your family
Ruth, here I am almost a year after you made this podcast and your message was just what I needed this morning. I am bearing a lot of mental burden right now, and I appreciate your desire to share the Word with anyone who wants to listen!
I needed to here that, Ruth. Be still…was looking in the wrong place. I am grateful you had the energy to bring us this podcast. You threw me a lifeline!
Sorry you are struggling right now, we have all been there . My favorite scripture is Phil 4:6. “Worry about nothing, pray about everything , be thankful for anything”. verses 4-9 are beautiful , but I learned the little ditty from a chapel speaker in the mid 1960 s. That tells you how old I am😊. Love your podcast.
Thank you, Ruth for all the joy that you have given us over this past year. I wish only the best for you and your family in 2024 and I'm sure you will find some wonderful projects to work on. Looking forward to spending the year with you!
Dear Ruth...I was having a pity party for myself and was so excited to see your podcast. It was indeed a birthday gift (the only one I got, hence the pity party). Your closing remarks made me cry, it was like you were speaking directly to me. I wish you and your family a wonderful new year 🎉🎉. Here's to 2024 and what lies ahead ❤✝️🙏
Oh,Ruth you are a blessing to all love all your finished knitts Wishing You much peace Joy and love in 2024.looking forward to a special year ahead, and resting in his word.and knitting.ha ha
Wonderful to see you today. Happy New Year to you abd your family Ruth. Amen to the closing prayer. It is really hard during this time of life, thank God He brings us through❤
Your knits are beautiful Ruth, enjoyed following you this year, wishing you and your family a happy and peaceful new year. It is going to be amazing casting on for a new year .❤xx the menapause isn’t pleasant, I suffer with all the symptoms that you mention, not nice at all. 3 am seems to be a thing.🤯🥵🥱xx
Peace to you dear lady. Happy to hear of your re-awakening. Being faithful Christians, we have a bigger target that draws Satan, and even more so when we’re physically weak. Continue to rely on the only one who can give us the peace and healing we need, our Savior. A blessed New Year to you and your family.
Dear Ruth. Happy New Year! I am so glad you decided to podcast today. You brighten my day when I see your podcast pop up. Never worry about your podcast being too long! It all takes time. Your poncho looks beautiful on you. That blue is your color! And your ‘Always in my Heart’ shawl is stunning! Thank you for sharing your faith at the end of each podcast. What a good reminder that it is not God who steps away, if we pause, we know it is us who steps away. “More of Him. Less of me.” One of my mantras. God bless. Knit On 😊🧶❤️
Happy New Year, Ruth 🎉 Yes, your announcement was certainly shocking....thank you for preparing us 😅! I enjoy your podcast so much and I wouldn't enjoy it as much if it was slick and polished. I am a bit older than you so believe me when I say that the "internal furnace" will calm down and your sleep will return. I had a rough and rocky perimenopause so I deeply sympathize. Especially about the sleep disruption. ❤ Susannah
Wow Ruth… I’m impressed with your clear needles!! Now you Get to casting on ALL the things!! I too am on The crazy train of menopause and wish you ease and comfort in the New Year! 🤞🍀🙏 I will be praying for you along with myself and many others to be free of these symptoms. Enjoy your knitting and your Family and Friends in the New Year!
Thanks for sharing all your wonderful finished projects. Love your color choices. You aren't alone in how you are feeling. I'm awake at night with same struggles. It can be very overwhelming. It is comforting to know others understand and are there for support.
I about died laughing at your "announcment"! I really enjoy your podcasts. I'm a retired nurse from Montana, USA. My daughter is also a nurse and is studying to be a labor and delivery nurse. Knitting is my happy place too. I hope you feel better soon. I love your musings at the end of your podcast. You have a heart of gold and are very precious to all who know you and to our heavenly father.
Ruth, you are precious! Those raging hormones make us feel horrible...this too shall pass! I don't make resolutions, but choose a word for the year...like purpose or intentionality...helps me through the year.
What……. Nothing on the needles………oh my goodness Ruth ………that must be a first🤭. What fun to now have the choice of what to do next. Super seeing you here today. What a treat. ❤ Happy New Year to you and your family and every here. Your knits are wonderful. I am knitting my third sock. Not third pair of socks because the other two socks are not pairs 😁 but I am enjoying what I am doing and that’s all that matters. See you soon x
Thank you for a wonderful podcast and all of the knitting pattern ideas. But most importantly thank you for your closing thoughts and sharing the word of God! Those thoughts were on my mind today, I’m going to use the scripture Romans 15:13 for my scripture of year!! God Bless you and your family and again I ‘m so thankful to have found your podcast for knitting and for encouragement of God’s word.
Love your podcast. You are a treasure. Your beautiful knitting serves you well when it comes to sharing Gods message. Thank you. Happy New Year to you and yours.
Blessed New Year to you and yours. Thanks for sharing the word of God with us all. The only solace we have in these awful times is that Holy Spirit is in control... This too will pass. My heart aches for those who are suffering and pray that all suffering will end soon. I feel so helpless. I wish I could do more. 🙏🏽❤
Rebecca Clow also gave about 1500 pounds to the Fistula Foundation. She said she had checked into it and they do good work. So glad to help poor women who don’t have access to the medical care they need. She donated sales of her Daft cardigan pattern and more. Thankful for your educating us on this issue.
Ruth, how I enjoy your podcasts. I found you a month or two ago and have been working through them with so much interest and joy. I love your knitting and the things you teach us as you go through . This week I watched the podcast where Eva was learning to crochet. I loved her progress. I especially loved her knitted flowers. I would love to crochet some of them. I am hoping to find patterns for them on Ravelry. It has been a hectic week since I decided to have a Christmas Day cast on to be finished by New Year’s Day-the idea came from Emma Barnaby on Tiny Desk Knitting, though she knits a sweater that week. I knitted a darling fox for our granddaughter from the pattern Roxy and Her Pups from Knit Picks. I put the project on Ravelry as thecountrywife. Anyway, please give my best wishes to Eva and congratulate her on her beautiful crochet work. Happy New Year!
Hi Ruth, thankyou for your beautiful message at the end. We all fall into that at times and your words were a wonderful reminder to trust God In everything. My goodness your knits were so gorgeous, I get excited too looking for something new to do. Happy New Year and so looking forward to seeing your lovely face on the other side 🙏💕
You mentioned a hole at the corner of your shadow wrap heel, have you watched the UA-cam video from Ellen at the chilly dog, she has a video called ‘a modified shadow wrapped short row heel’ it is brilliant. She has a real gift for updating patterns. Give her a look when you have time. Thank you for your podcasts, I discovered you in 2023 and went back to the biginn8ng and have watched all 51 episodes. I love your attitude and love of knitting. Happy New Year 🎆🎆
Happy New Year Ruth. You are truly a wonderful person. I enjoy listening to your podcasts and always get a chuckle every time. Like you said at the end-be still. Everyday go out for a nice walk with the dogs. With just you and the dogs, you should feel peace and calmness. And most of all, don’t watch any news. Keep smiling!
Wishing you and your family a wonderful and healthy new year. I am 70 this year and can still remember my mom saying, " no one is going to go through life without some ups and downs, it is how we handle those times that can bring us closer to Him. Love your podcasts and especially the talks at the end.
Thank you for opening up and being vulnerable, I have been through the ups and downs of “woah is me” over the last year. I have lupus and RA and have been dealing with two broken feet and surgeries. And even though I know all of the things that you talked about are true, I have still let the devil in at times throughout. God is good, all the time. Thank you for that reminder this morning. He will sustain me and you! ❤️
Loved this podcast! Brought a bright spot to my afternoon. 😁 It's great that you'll be starting fresh for the new year -- finding little yarny surprises as you reorganize your room, and start with two or three brand new projects! Sounds like a great start for January 1. Thanks for your message and scripture at the end. Such a good reminder for me to help push myself out of a slump. Happy New Year to you and yours! Looking forward to more great podcasts and the T&P KAL! 💛
Ruth, you are such a joy to watch, and I always watch to the very end😊 Your blue poncho is gorgeous 😍!!! I am 55 myself so yes shawls and ponchos are a blessing 😅
Beautiful finishes and end of the year! May the New Year be filled with joy, happiness, peace and calm and many blessings to you and yours! Thank you so much for the gift you be!
Thank you Ruth for such a lovely podcast. I wasn't going to join the zoom the other week as I do get very self conscious in company but I made myself do it and I think God had a hand in it. I'm so glad I met you and now have your podcast to listen to. Thank you so much for your thoughts at the end as we can forget in our busy lives to be still and know God is there for us every day. I'm thanking God for bringing your joy and knitting into my life. Happy New year and look forward to the next episode. God Bless you.🥰

Don't worry, the No WIPs issue will be sorted ASAP....just not sure what yet.
Eva’s cardigan turned out beautifully
You are so precious! Your podcast is a wonderful ministry. I look forward to your message every time! Your knitting is amazing but you are the gift. God has surely anointed you! ❤
He can use anything and anyone for His glory.
Ruth your words helped me today. Thank you for your podcast on this last day of 2023!
What a treat to get home from church to a visit from Ruth ❤

Thank you. Don't worry. I already have an FO.
Blessings for 2024! I spent most of yesterday afternoon matching up yarn and patterns to go into project bags. I think I ended up with 12-16 bags!
There is definitely potential for many matches here too x
Hi Ruth, I watched this New Years morning with a cup of coffee. What a great way to start the day and year. I wish you could you see yourself from the outside … you’re so uplifting and joyful. To a wonderful 2024 …see you on the next one
Thank you Ruth! I wish you peace and joy !
Thank you x
Another fantastic and entertaining podcast. Enjoy all your beautiful knits. That shawl is the ultimate! Thank you so much for all you give to this community. You make us kinder. I hope this year brings you good health and inner peace. Hugs ❤
Thank you x
So many great makes! Thanks for the MALs this year. I am going to CO for the TandP KAL in the next couple days. Happy New Year!
Love the bell idea. My fav scripture is Isaiah 55 8&9 x
❤️❤️
I needed to here that, Ruth. Be still…was looking in the wrong place. I am grateful you had the energy to bring us this podcast. You threw me a lifeline!
Sorry you are struggling right now, we have all been there . My favorite scripture is Phil 4:6. “Worry about nothing, pray about everything , be thankful for anything”. verses 4-9 are beautiful , but I learned the little ditty from a chapel speaker in the mid 1960 s. That tells you how old I am😊. Love your podcast.
You are a treasure. Thank you for sharing
Thank you, Ruth for all the joy that you have given us over this past year. I wish only the best for you and your family in 2024 and I'm sure you will find some wonderful projects to work on. Looking forward to spending the year with you!
Love your podcasts. Don’t change anything. You are so upbeat, funny and honest. I look forward to each one. Happy New Year.
Happy Birthday. Sorry your oresent wasn't wrapped but hope you felt loved x

Maybe we need a 3am zoom group x
❤ Susannah
You give me hope x
Wow Ruth… I’m impressed with your clear needles!! Now you Get to casting on ALL the things!! I too am on The crazy train of menopause and wish you ease and comfort in the New Year! 🤞🍀🙏 I will be praying for you along with myself and many others to be free of these symptoms. Enjoy your knitting and your Family and Friends in the New Year!
Thank you x
Beautiful finished objects. So pretty the socks the shawls...so pretty.
Your gold shawl is so beautiful! Love Isabel’s patterns! The best line: you’re not here for perfection! Love it!
Happy New Year Ruth
Thanks for sharing all your wonderful finished projects. Love your color choices. You aren't alone in how you are feeling. I'm awake at night with same struggles. It can be very overwhelming. It is comforting to know others understand and are there for support.
There are so many of us. X
Ruth , thank you for the message at the end. I’m menopausal too and going thru the same thing. It’s rough but hopefully ending soon🥵
I hope so too!
Thank you x
Ruth, you are precious! Those raging hormones make us feel horrible...this too shall pass! I don't make resolutions, but choose a word for the year...like purpose or intentionality...helps me through the year.
Thank you for sharing your struggles and your faith. I appreciate your vulnerability. I really enjoy your podcasts.
Pray on x
Lovely to hear from you today Ruth. I really needed your few words at the end today. Happy New Year to you and your family.
Thank you Ruth for your wise words. Wishing you and your family a peaceful New year.
I know. It was an amazing gesture. That money will help in a big way. X
What a lovely ending to your podcast. Know you are in my prayers.
You always have the things I need to hear. You are so amazing. Thank you so much for podcasting and giving us all kinds of inspiration.
Thank you. Eva gets her patterns from Tiktok. She is crocheting a waist coat at the moment. I will pass on your love x
I read your message to Eva. She was chuffed to bits x
Happy New Year 🎆🎆
Thanks. I will check her out x
Happy new year to you and your family. I hope there is lots more knitting in 2024!
I am 70 this year
and can still remember my mom saying, " no one is going to go through life without some ups and downs, it is how we handle those times that can bring us closer to Him. Love your podcasts and especially the talks at the end.
Lovely podcast Ruth. Remember that only God is perfect, we are a work in progress . Looking forward to seeing you next month x
Amen x
Thank you for opening up and being vulnerable, I have been through the ups and downs of “woah is me” over the last year. I have lupus and RA and have been dealing with two broken feet and surgeries. And even though I know all of the things that you talked about are true, I have still let the devil in at times throughout. God is good, all the time. Thank you for that reminder this morning. He will sustain me and you! ❤️
Hope you are healing. What a year you had. Keep looking to him x
Thank you, thank you Ruth.❤ Have a blessed New Year!
I think that clearing your needles on the last day or two before the end of the year is sooooo gratifying! I would love that. Happy New Year
I am so glad you shared at the end of your podcast…. It did my soul good! 😊
Thank you for a lovely podcast, happy new year to you and your family x
Ruth, you are such a joy to watch, and I always watch to the very end😊 Your blue poncho is gorgeous 😍!!! I am 55 myself so yes shawls and ponchos are a blessing 😅
Beautiful finishes and end of the year! May the New Year be filled with joy, happiness, peace and calm and many blessings to you and yours! Thank you so much for the gift you be!
Thank you x
Happy New Year, Ruth you are a gift to us all, God Bless
Nothing?!? I can’t believe it, who even are you! 😝😂 thanks for the company, enjoyed it as usual. Happy New Year! ❤
Ah but oh boy do I plan to cast on ALL the things xx
Thank you Ruth for such a lovely podcast. I wasn't going to join the zoom the other week as I do get very self conscious in company but I made myself do it and I think God had a hand in it. I'm so glad I met you and now have your podcast to listen to. Thank you so much for your thoughts at the end as we can forget in our busy lives to be still and know God is there for us every day. I'm thanking God for bringing your joy and knitting into my life. Happy New year and look forward to the next episode. God Bless you.🥰
So glad you did join the zoom x
Love the yak yarn! My socks are great in that yarn. Love my gaming pillow you shared for my knitting , reading or using my I pad.
Thanks so much for your podcast. I have more concentration errors as I get older so don’t feel alone. ❤
