I adore it when Carlos goes off on a tangent and Arne descends into a fit of the giggles and has to start ironing until the tangent is exhausted. I adore your kindness to each other. I really loved last year’s KAL, second only to the quarantine squares. Excited about this year’s. Thanks, boys.
So good to see Freya so lively! Did anyone else learn the little mantra spring forward, fall back? This is the only way I can keep the time change straight.😊
Lucky me, my Jack Russel, Chico, has reached yesterday 19 years and 11 months. Living with a blind dog is not the simplest of the situations but he is so loving... He has no sickness, heart, liver, kidneys, even joints. He does not complain, even if he is very slow and cautions, which was not his past life. I love him and will accompany him when he tells me he is fed up. Best wished to both of you and Freya
Carlos, no worries about speed. Just enjoy the process! Knitting has been my mental health therapy and it is so relaxing to me, sometimes I fall asleep knitting. Lots of mistakes happen when you fall asleep knitting! Arne you are so kind and patient to offer to fix the knitting. I am still enjoying these sit and knits!
Timezones are always confusing, I’m so glad Google will figure them out for me :) and Carlos, I also knit slowly, you’re not alone!! I can’t wait for the KAL, this will be the first year I’ll have the time to participate and I’m really looking forward to it. Thank you for always having such fun projects!
Carlos: It is NOT a knitting competition!!! Or a competition of ANY kind! Just enjoy your knitting!!! Don't compare yourself or your knitting with anyone or anyone else's work. Comparisons are odious 🙂 The only comparison that counts, that makes any sense, is when you compare yourself right now to yourself at another time. But as long as you are happy with your work (your knitting) that is ALL that matters ❤
Hello from the Central Valley of California. Weather here is still very warm. I’m knitting a blanket for a daughter and we’ll crochet two baby blankets for my newest great grandsons. Have a wonderful day. Love watching you.
Hello to you from Pismo Beach😊 I love to see other Californian knitters. I always feel like I'm the only one who lives in such a warm climate yet enjoys the coziness of knitting. Cheers!
So nice to see you both but I miss seeing your beautiful rooms as backdrop to your videos. Today we see Arne’s wonderful bookshelf and last time, the scary clown! 😄 May we visit with you again in your beautiful kitchen- maybe for a little baking and coffee? Happy Autumn from New England. Keep those home fires, and candles burning. 🍂🍁🍄🟫
I had no idea Carlos was also a member of "Team Snail!" Your Norwegian style knitting and purling tutorials have increased my knitting speed a bit, so thank you very much! Love to watch you both.
I'm glad Freya is feeling better and can carry on with her moose patrols. Can't wait to see the finished version of the magnificent polar bear sweater!
Love to hear that there is again an Christmas knit a long. Still didn't finished my sock from last year 😂 But no worries it will all be alright. Have a good trip and see you next time ❤🧶
Love the idea of a knit along in November. I joined the American Cancer Society’s knitting every day in November fundraiser so it’s nice to have a project to do everyday!
Clock change helpful Rhyme I use to remember is: AUTUMN = “FALL BACK” (leaves fall from trees)and SPRING = FORWARD(a spring goes forwards when released). We were taught this at my Boarding school in Uk when we first started. I still say it to myself each time clocks change. ( in my 60’s now!) Very handy way to know what the clocks are changing to. Hopefully others might find helpful too. Looking forward to knit along with you both this year. Thank you both for gifting us a new one this year. Very kind of you. Enjoy your travels too.
Thank you for repeating the stocking KAL. It was a joy last year and I know it will be even more so a second time around. Can’t wait for Nov 1. Super cuddles to Freda.
Poor Carlos. I don’t think any of us could keep up with Arne. Carlos: pick up my stitches and check my work, my dear - sounds like MY husband asking me sweetly could you just look at this and fix my knitting for me? I smiled when I heard you say this because it sounded so familiar to me. That sounds so cute, you talking about Freya. I loved it. Yes, we should buy other makers’ things to support the industry. You two are so pleasing to watch and listen to your interaction with each other. Thank you for sharing with us.
Glad to hear about another stocking knit along. I joined you for last years was able to keep up with the 6 rounds a day, finishing in time for my grand son’s first Christmas. We welcomed another grandson this spring and he will also need a Christmas stocking, so I will be joining you daily in November! It was so much fun last year, blindly knitting without knowing what the pattern would looks like, it’s kinds of like waited till the baby is finally born to get when you finally get to see who was kicking in mom’s belly the past month.
I think it´s beautiful that you still support other makers and will buy knit garments despite being perfectly capable of making just about anything yourselves. That kind of community is a lovely thing. I knit because Iove yarn, I love combining colors, I love the process of seeing fabric form. Products are secondary for me. I think you two are great ambassadors for the craft.
😂😂😂 Carlos you made my day…..you are great….i love how sure you are about a topic and than start rethinking your own thoughts. In the next minutes no one can follow your theories but everybody is happy at the end of this process❤
A fun episode; I think I'll try to knit along this year. Last year I followed sporadically, and downloaded on last free day for it. Enjoy your casts always!
Thank you, that was a lovely catch-up with lots in it! Looking forward to the knit-along, have lots of wool from all the Christmas balls I’ve knitted in the past! Enjoy the cruise, and great seeing Freya so well ❤
Fantastic, thank you Carlos for working the time’s out. It’s always a joy to sit with you both. I shall order the yarn and prepare for your knit along really looking forward to it as I have never participated before.
Arne will have the best dressed dolls in town. I wish to sew or crochet some doll clothes here myself. Wish me luck. My doll is 15 inches. I need to look for some patterns. I can remember sewing in the 70’s on my grandmothers non electric- treadle type sewing machine. I still have it. I need to get that thing up and running !!! That would be super cool
Love the jumpers/sweaters. Thank you for having a different wall in the background, I couldnt watch the other video as i have a phobia/fear of clowns but i enjoyed watching this video very much thank you. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Happy late Sunday! So glad to see Freja today. I imagine she enjoys Arne's new room, so she can look out over the grounds and stay on guard! 😂 I am looking forward to another KAL, even though I haven't started the 2024 stocking that I got back in July! I have my wool and I'm ready to start knitting! Have a fabulous week! ❤❤🤗😘
So glad to hear you will come to USA next year. And to hear about the KAL, I love those cheery Rowan colors! I do like the idea to start Nov 1st so as to finish in time for Holidays. So generous of you to offer the pattern free. Thank you! -Mary
Gorgeous sweaters. I’d love to be able to knit like this. Oh God - you guys are funny . Love the shades in the polar bear piece-cannot wait to see it finished! Awwww, Freya sounds so adorable ..and smart. Ah those fortunate well- dressed dolls! This was fun ! ❤ xx
Carlos, I totally relate, I can never figure out the time difference either! Watching you try to figure it out made me feel better -- I'm not alone in this. Freya is super cute. 🙂
Oh my goodness, I just love listening and watching you two while I work on my projects. You two are so fun, so funny and so inspirational with all the projects you do. I do have to agree with Carlos on the clowns and the dolls - a bit creepy but I would love one day if you are podcasting again from Arne’s Studio to have a virtual tour, please! So fun to me to see the spaces in which people we admire create and work! Thanks again for the chuckles and the company!
Laughing about your time mix up. I’m in Australia and have just returned from Broken Hill and surrounds in western NSW. It’s a very isolated area and we were jumping in and out of the two time zones. In the end we were even more confused than Carlos! Thank you for the laugh.
Carlos, your hat is beautiful! I love the knitting plans for morning, afternoon and evening knitting. I have a crazy Quilt from my grandma with scraps of fabric from dresses she made for me and my sisters when we were little and dresses she used to wear. I love it and remembering all The dresses. I will see you in Nashville!😊
I can't wait for the full tour of Arne's studio. I think it would be fun to give it name beyond 'Arne's Studio'. I love the music of Eivor and Mari Boine. I had the opportunity to meet Mari. She was visiting the Nordic Center in Oregon. I have a picture of her with me, my cousin, sister and daughter. You would have thought we were cousins we look so much alike. My grandmother was Sami and both my parents were full Norwegian - DNA say's I'm 98% Norwegian. Thanks for all the show and tell, I really enjoy seeing the projects you guys are creating. One day I hope to be on one of the northbound cruises.
I love when Carlos talks about Arne's creative chaos. lol. I hope you know you're making our day. Where can we purchase sweaters and things you two have made? I saw your patterns on the website.
😂. Thank you, both for some good laughs with you. ...the clown is a nice clown, just doing it’s best to make you laugh and be at ease. It’s a good painting. This is coming from someone who does not generally like clowns. Your projects are cool and playful. Carlos, your knit hat is looking good. We can not rush good work. The saying goes, “ if you want it bad, you get it bad.” I think, I will took to buy that pattern. Glad to hear Freya is doing alright.
When Freya started to get down from Carlos’s lap, and Arne was reaching down for something, I couldn’t help but notice that he and Freya have the same hairstyle! 😂
My grandmother made a high-end crazy quilt, especially to put on an end table that was in the living room. The fabrics were velvet, silk, and wool. She embroidered different stitches to cover the seams/fabric edges. In place of honor, on top of that quilt and table was a black lacquered wooden box with gold tole painting. The box had old family photos in it that, for some reason, never got added to the photo albums. While I sadly don't have the quilt or the table, I do have the box and the photos. She grew up on a farm in Sweden, in the Mellerud area. Learned many different crafts from her, including caning chairs.
Good thing it's not a knitting race. I'm with you, Carlos! Careful, mindful knitting is therapy. Awe, sweet and lucky Freya! What a life! Your crazy quilt and doll clothes sewing is so inspirational. I miss those paper patterns. I'm doing a hexagon pillow and Barbie clothes along with knitting a very challenging Irish inspired blanket and a Christmas stocking. I live in creative chaos too. I hope you can come close to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Thank you for your music recommendation! The KAL will be so fun in all the savings time zones😵💫🤪Safe travels!!
I’m so happy the knit along is in November! I am a slow knitter, too. I finished last year’s stocking in April. 😂 Maybe I’ll finish this stocking by Christmas. 🤞
Room Tour Arnie, love to see your studio. Carlos would not like my creative space lol. love you both and awesome work, Carlos I'm super slow at knitting, you would beat me hands down. Huge hugs
Question: I was wondering if the knit-along stocking could also be knit in just 2 colours (I wanted to use 2 balls of cloud dancer + 2 balls of ribbon red). Looking forward to participating, it would be my first time. I so enjoyed the advent episodes last year, and have been hoping it would be repeated this year. Greetings from Ireland!
So glad you are hosting a knit a long.... I will order yarn tomorrow! Also live the confusion caused by the blasted time change! My sister once did the math for a birthday party...she got it wrong and we were arriving over a three hour time period!!! The children were so confused! Just like I am.
I’ll rely on google for the time difference, but I believe you are correct, Carlos. I tried developing and sewing doll clothes but the small size was much too fiddly for me. Just couldn’t do it! So great to see Freya doing so well! ❤
Thanks so very much for another great SAKFAB. I'm very excited about the upcoming Christmas stocking project - last year's was wonderful. Best part of this SAKFAB was Carlos' macabre speculation about the two grinning dolls partying with the clown when nobody is around. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Love your sense of humour mixed with dread, Carlos. ❤❤😃😃
Thanks .It’s very nice that you are doing the knitting alone early this year. Being from NewZealand I had to finish last year’s sock at the last minute because we have Christmas 12 hours earlier .
My miniature poodle is 16 years old and cannot see or hear as well as he once could, but still gets the "zoomies" occasionally and runs laps around the yard and insists on going for a 1-mile walk twice a day to sniff the news. Happy to hear your pup is feeling energetic on her medicine.
A lovely way to start my Monday morning with a video from Arne & Carlos and of course, the beautiful Freya ❤ I'm so looking forward to another stocking KAL, I participated for the first time last year, and was so happy with my first ever knitted stocking. Call me crazy, but I'll be knitting the stocking in air conditioning as it "heats up" here in Australia. Safe travels for your upcoming events ❤x❤
Can’t wait for the new stocking! Thanks for starting earlier. Do we really want to compare our time to knit each day with Arne? 😅 I did finish the stocking last year and as soon as it was finished it was in the hands of my little granddaughter. Hopefully I can get a picture of it this year hung by the chimney with the new stocking for her brother. I’ve already bought new yarn from 2 different shops online because the reds and emerald seem to be sold out. I remember last year scrambling to get the yarn.
Laughed all the way through the whole time-change monologue by Carlos, because I have to go through the same mental gymnastics every six months when the time changes! Bad enough that we have to change, but the fact that then we’re out of sync with the rest of the world….! I have friends in Europe AND Brazil so I’m constantly confused. Loved Arne’s “now let me make you feel really bad….” Pretty funny how you envy your dog’s life while everyone watching envies YOURS! Thank you so much for the new stocking KAL; this year I’m prepared and already have the yarn. To the loo!
Don't worry Carlos I get time change all mixed up. It actually takes many US folks to readjust to either losing an hour or gaining an hour. I knit very slowly and many times I stay away from knitting big projects. I only started knitting when I was iny twenties, gave it up for sewing and hand stitching. I started knitting a lot again in my fifties. I guess I'll just stick to smaller projects. I love your crazy quilts and love how the two of you collaborate creating them. Carlos I love your hat. You give Arnos so much credit. Love you both bon voyage to you on your next voyage.
We are glad to hear that!
Love the crazy quilt blocks, they are beautiful! I laughed and laughed today, you guys are making my day. So glad Freya is feeling better...❤❤❤❤❤
Classic Arne, “Do you actually need all these needles?” Love to listen to your podcast guys!
Thank you! You both give so much joy to people... telling your stories. You don't make any of us feel as if we cant do it!
😍
So good to see Freya so lively! Did anyone else learn the little mantra spring forward, fall back? This is the only way I can keep the time change straight.😊

Bless him a grand age. You are lucky, I've lost both of my dogs within 10 months of each other. I am bereft
@@janicecoulson5388 I am preparing myself for this. I will never be ready but there it is. Life is great, though. Gratitude !
@@janicecoulson5388 I am deeply sorry for your loss.
It is not a contest, we knit for the joy of creating. Enjoy your knitting Carlos.
Carlos, no worries about speed. Just enjoy the process! Knitting has been my mental health therapy and it is so relaxing to me, sometimes I fall asleep knitting. I knit slowly, and enjoying every stitch. Thank you for the upcoming knit along. Going to enjoy that.
I love to have a morning, afternoon and evening project…. Something intermediate, something fiddley, and something simple… so fun!!! ❤❤❤❤
Varioation is the key!
@@christafischer4042 That is really a splendid way to do it! I’m going to try it!

Carlos I always thought I was the slowest knitter in the world. As long as it looks good there is nothing wrong with it
The time thing has just had me in stitches ... happily I'm in the Uk

Carlos, I’m not a speedy knitter either, but I always say that it’s the journey, not the destination, that I enjoy! The same with my spinning!
Well said!

Could you tell me more about that? I only know about the Save the Children Scarf (called 'ein Schal fürs Leben' here in Germany).
So glad you are hosting a knit a long.... I will order yarn tomorrow! Also live the confusion caused by the blasted time change! My sister once did the math for a birthday party...she got it wrong and we were arriving over a three hour time period!!! The children were so confused! Just like I am.
So glad to hear you've discovered Eivør. She's an amazing talent!
I’ll rely on google for the time difference, but I believe you are correct, Carlos. I tried developing and sewing doll clothes but the small size was much too fiddly for me. Just couldn’t do it! So great to see Freya doing so well! ❤
I love watching and listening to you guys. can we have a link to the cruises you host please? thank you.
Thanks so very much for another great SAKFAB.
I'm very excited about the upcoming Christmas stocking project - last year's was wonderful.
Best part of this SAKFAB was Carlos' macabre speculation about the two grinning dolls partying with the clown when nobody is around.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love your sense of humour mixed with dread, Carlos.
A lovely way to start my Monday morning with a video from Arne & Carlos and of course, the beautiful Freya ❤
I'm so looking forward to another stocking KAL, I participated for the first time last year, and was so happy with my first ever knitted stocking. Call me crazy, but I'll be knitting the stocking in air conditioning as it "heats up" here in Australia.
Safe travels for your upcoming events
❤x❤
Eivor is a favorite of mine. Have listened to her for years. Cheers from Seattle... USA
👍🏻❤️
Laughed all the way through the whole time-change monologue by Carlos, because I have to go through the same mental gymnastics every six months when the time changes! Bad enough that we have to change, but the fact that then we’re out of sync with the rest of the world….! I have friends in Europe AND Brazil so I’m constantly confused.
Loved Arne’s “now let me make you feel really bad….”
Pretty funny how you envy your dog’s life while everyone watching envies YOURS!
Thank you so much for the new stocking KAL; this year I’m prepared and already have the yarn. To the loo!
We are glad you are joining!
