      So I use the luminosity skin care line. Wondering what similar products I can use to replace the serum and benzyol lotion 😬 I find I still get some break outs and have other issues I would like to target. I use the mandelic maven serum and benzyol lotion morning and night.

A few topics I'm interested in are eye creams, more about essence (you touched on them in the toners video, but I'm still a bit confused about what they do/why they're important/pros & cons), and I'm really interested in what to do in the morning vs evening skin routines (Do you use different toners, serums, moisturizers, and eye creams in the morning and evening ?). Again, I love your videos, thank you for all your help!!!

    I am African with type V-VI skin (dark brown skin tone with reddish orange-y undertones).
    This is how I go on my combination/dehydrated face at night:
    1. washing (donkey milk soap)
    2. cleansing (organic fruit extracts)
    3. exfoliating (sugar & olive oil scrub)
    4. applying serum (organic Vitamin C cut with sweet almond oil)
    5. toning (organic fruit extracts)
    6. moisturising (organic fruit extracts)
    The effect is magic: my bumps sink in, my ingrown hair scars blend in, my skin is silky to the touch, my face glows until the next morning.
    All of this without any chemicals at all. :)

They’re not that expensive they’re like $20 and under, I wish I could afford expensive skincare to have a flawless skin! I just recently got into skincare and right now it just makes my whole face really oily. Do you have any suggestions on what I could change?
    1. Toner: Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner
    2.Serum: Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum
    3. Cream: BY WISHTREND
    Vitamin 75 Maximizing Cream

    • @BeautyWithin
      @BeautyWithin  5 років тому +6

      Most likely the cream you're using could be a little too heavy, which is why it feels oily because it's not sinking into your skin. If after 5 minutes the product still feels heavy and sticky on your face then it's probably too thick. You can try a more lightweight moisturizer, like a gel consistency, and see if this makes a difference. Hope this helps! 😊- fel

      You should absolutely see your dermatologist! Removing them yourself is quite tricky, especially on sensitive areas like your eyes.
      Salicylic acid is known to be able to remove them, maybe try that out. But please be patient and don‘t overexfoliate your skin.

Specifially, with the serum you mentioned from the ordinary (niacinimide+zinc) and other serums, exfoliants, oils, face washes, and mousterizers. For example, can a face was with a small amount of salicylic acid, the ordinary serum, and a benzoyl peroxide treatment work well in a routine together?

    Thank you so much for your videos! I'm still trying to find the perfect routine for my oily, acne-prone, and sometimes sensitive skin. I've been trying routines from different dermatologists and something on my own. I hope I can find something since I've been struggling with acne since puberty.

    What do you both do with your empty skincare bottles/jars? I would like to learn a more sustainable and eco friendly way of disposing of them.

    Am I the only one that used up a bottle of The Ordinary serums but stopped when I smelled the serum in the second bottle and smell *CHEMICALS* stopped using it ‘cause I’m scared it’ll ruin my skin 😭

      tina sowton if you used one whole bottle and we’re fine then it’s all good, it smells like chemicals becuase they don’t mix any perfumes into it to entice people the ingredient list isn’t long and smell isn’t important to them don’t be afraid lol 😂

    If I'm struggling with acne would you recommend a vitamin c serum over the ordinary niacinamide/zinc? I'm super fair so I also really struggle with the redness during & after breakouts

    I like you guys but it's really confusing, in one video you told us not to combine vitamin C and BHA products and now, you're telling us to use vitamin C and salicylic acid (BHA) for acne prone skin. Please help.

    • @gillianwills9049
      @gillianwills9049 5 років тому +3

      I'd ignore them. They clearly have no qualifications. Ask a dermatologist.

    • @heraskendo5324
      @heraskendo5324 5 років тому +15

      I think they mean that you could use Vit C or BHA, but not at the same time, since they could affect the integrity of each other and the skin would be way more sensitive to the sun. But i would consult a dermatologist before using anything.

      Keiichi Midorino hi! really late reply but I had the same question then, and figured out that the you can’t use the two in the same routine (like am). You could use BHA at night to help with clog pores or acne, and use vitamin c in the morning along with your sunscreen. Liah Yoo made an awesome video explaining acids and how to combine them ! :)

      Try Klairs freshly juiced vitamin c serum. It has 5% vitamin c (a low dose) plus it has calming centella asiatica extract so it’s good for sensitive skin.

      Yes Niacinamide and zinc are great for oily and acne prone skin! Definitely safe to use, unless you're somehow allergic to it.. But it works wonders for me! Hope this helps! I just saw your message on my Instagram too hehe 😘🙌- fel

    I have a combination skin. It's like anything i use, my skin gets worse. I was using Thayer's witch hazel toner (it's ok, not wow) and Lancome Renergie lift with SK-II essence, it was just working fine. I changed my toner to Laneige mositurizer and toner, I have a lot of breakouts. Can you please tell me which high end toner, serum and moisturizer will be good for my skin so I am free of these bumps on my face.
