I thought my teenage acne was bad. Until I turned 24 and currently facing the worst adult hormonal acne ever. I can't even leave my house 🥲

I guess that most people whom struggled with teen acne they got it back as adults acne but I hope that it will be healed and you will have a great clear skin soon don't be ashamed of it cuz I can feel you I'm struggling too but it's much better now what I'm doing is avoiding sugar, milk and grassy food and doing 30min of sports each morning and drinking 2L of water a day and eating so much green vegetables and fruits ...i don't want chemical stuff and it's so expensive .... And for my skin care routine I use cerave cleanser in the morning and in the evening before going to sleep and then the ordinary niacinamide + zinc then la roche posay cicaplaste + vitamins B5 as a moisturiser and my skin has improved a lot... Sorry for my English it's not my native language 😅 but believe me it worked for me 😊

Avoid coffee too I've forgot and drink a cup of water mixed with a table spoon of apple cider vinegar but using a strip to avoid damaging your teeth just right after you wake up it has a lot of health benefits and you can tolerate it even if it stinks and so acid 😂

@Farah Chicho. Thanks so much for your kind words and advice. Honestly brought me tears. I'll try my best to cut the dairy and sugar out of my diet as well as coffee (which I love so much 😭) thanks again for your routine I will try it and find hose products or similar ones. Thank you❣️

I'm 23 and I can really feel you 😭 I'm struggling with the same thing and don't wanna go out and my problem is even doubled cuz I'm skinny and cutting off these things would make me loose more weight but for me having a clear skin is more important 😊 hope you will get to know what's best for your skin but I told you that what I'm doing is giving me good results with less money 😅 now hope it works for you too let's make it our goal for 2023 ✨ I once read a comment that really encourage me it says that acne is the way our body is fighting for us better than having diabetes or cholesterol when we get older and I'm believing in it 💙

    Solutions to help:
    -Drink a lot of water
    -Cut down on caffeine intake
    -Sleep more
-Eat more greens/cruciferous vegetables because they contain a lot of fiber (Like Broccoli, cauliflower and salads)
-Reduce Milk intake (Cow milk specifically)
-Stop eating as much sugar and cheese
-Find alternatives to refined white sugar in coffees (Like Maple syrup or date syrup)
    -Tuna and Avacado sandwiches
-Whole grain bread instead of normal white bread
    -Reduce the intake of carbs

It's hard for anyone! personally what i do when the seasons change is to make sure i'm still getting enough hydrating ingredients into my skin, and i start to make more warming foods like baked sweet potatoes, oats and stir fries :) because at the end of the day we should be loving the process of learning about ourselves hehe - fel x

I’m so glad I came across this video🥺 I’ve struggled with cystic acne on and off since I was 14 (now 20). At times I don’t want to leave the house, don’t want to see people I’m close to, and even after the pandemic I still wore masks for a while because of how insecure I was. I have been on and off medications prescribed by my dermatologist including antibiotics and a course of accutane and I don’t want to have to rely on pharmaceuticals forever so i’ve recently started my journey to figure out what’s really the issue. My hormonal acne just recently came back again. I always steered away from cows milk but never completely eliminated dairy (still ate cheese), I am now attempting to go dairy free and gluten free. If there is someone reading to this point, I just want you to know you’re loved, you look great, and your acne does not define you. Some things are out of our control and it just takes some digging about yourself to figure it out. I’m hoping I figure out the underlying issue for myself and that I can be done with it or at least minimal acne eventually and not let it control me and my life some day.

I am 29 and I’m still struggling with acne but after researching possible causes of acne from information given in your videos and after being inspired to be patient and do the work for myself I am the closest I’ve ever been to maintaining the skin I have always wanted. I found the things that work and don’t work for my skin because of the things y’all teach! Videos like this are SO IMPORTANT! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for sharing your story. I only started getting hormonal acne in my late 20s and it was the most frustrating thing. I've been using a lot of the products and suggestions on your channel and notice a world of difference. My skin has never been so nice and dewy!! I've also stopped getting bad cystic acne too with eating well & your skin care suggestions. This is very relatable. ❤ 6 months ago, I just also realized that it has nothing to do only with my skincare products or routine but inside my body and lifestyle. I also used to become so anxious and stressed when pandemic started which triggered my breakouts, like cystic acne, that I never had since high school. Then, since I really didn't know what to do of my face, I consulted with dermatologist and was diagnosed with acne vulgaris. She prescribed medications, organic skincare products for my daily routine and told me to reduce or not to eat dairy products and hyperglycemic food, which I strictly followed. Then so I also started learning to cook and eat more veggies, not to drink coffee, avoid distress and sleep on time. Now, I can say that I have cleared my acne. I just need to maintain proper skincare routine and continue with my new lifestyle. And to accept that we cannot control all things in life, learn to adapt and live in our "new normal". 😊 I hope I could also get rid of my acne marks and scars soon. 🙏

I got some acne here & there in my teenage years but it got worse in my early 20s. I’ve reduced my dairy intake for about a year now & I can totally see a difference! I guess I need to incorporate a lot more fibers into my diet cause I also have constipation issue lol. Everything you described is what I’ve done to reduce my acne, from removing dairy, coffee and sugar from my diet to trying leafy greens and monitoring my period, I’ve done it all and after finally seeing an improvement in my acne I can say that it’s been for the better. I also try to stay clear of gluten but since I don’t have a gluten sensitivity I realized I didn’t really need to so I still have some occasionally.

I don't think I've ever commented on a video, but this video really made me feel hopeful towards clearing my skin, and because you've experienced it yourself and now your skin looks beautiful. I started Uni this year , and around March\April I started breaking out really bad, like I've never experienced before, to the point where people comment about it. As a teen, I had pimples yes, but like a dot on different spots, but this was all over my face. Cheeks, forehead, chin, everywhere. As a result, I've gotten pimple scars as well, that I'm hoping to clear up, along with these pimples. I never wore makeup throughout high school, my skin was good, just the few pimples here and there and now I wear make up daily to cover up the marks. As much as I do enjoy wearing make up, I would like to wear it as a choice, now I feel like I NEED to cover up because of how these marks are spread out across my whole face. I know it'll get better eventually, it might be the stress of the shift to Uni away from home, workload, all of that and with due time these marks will fade. In the meantime I'll definitely be intentional with what I eat, my sleeping patterns, staying hydrated and all of that to get to where you're at with your skin. Thank you for sharing your journey❤

I used to suffer with similar breakouts as you did (but my period was pretty regular). And similarly to you, I've slowly made dietary adjustments and I think it has helped my skin too. I'm struggling to figure out what's the trigger and it's difficult for me to change my food intake because I still live at home with my parents, so my diet is determined by what my parents buy. I've been working on drinking more water and exercising and that works but there's definitely more that I'm not getting yet. I tried to cut out dairy for a month but that didn't make much difference either.

Other thing is the scars or pigmentation left behind after the hormonal acne which doesn't fade away oh my god!! The struggle is real. Please be kind enough to help us girls with the pigmentation issue. Also, if you could mention some of the good primers for an extra oily skin in one of the upcoming videos, would be a life saver. Thanks so much for leaving a comment! And actually, products for hyperpigmentation are one of my faaaves because i totally get those stubborn marks after as well! Luckily there are a lot of ingredients that you can look for that help with brightening acne marks! my favorites to use are aha/bha toners, vitamin C serums, anything with licorice root, azelaic acid, and niacinmade are great for it! plus it doesn't just help with the hyperpigmentation, but for overall skin health. but don't worry too much because our skin cycles through every 28-30 days and will slowly fade naturally. one of the best things you can also do is just make sure your skin is well hydrated! because dehydrated skin can also signal to the melanocytes to produce more melanin, which means more hyperpigmentation. Hope this helps! - fel x

I'm really, really thankful for your videos about this. I've had acne maybe after a year I've gotten a period. I was probably 11 yrs old when it started on my cheeks and I think it was probably of my unideal skin care which progressively got harsher with the attempt to remove it. Years forward when 16 or 17, I began to have bumps under my skin along my jawline. I just opted to a Dove sensitive bar and a sunflower moisturizer because my acne felt hopeless. My period also was irregular. Then now, I'm 18 and turning 19 and learned that it was really hormonal acne. The pimples on my cheeks are only few now, but the bumps on my jawline are consistent. My mom had been telling me to lessen my sugar intake aka rice, so I did after hearing it so many times because I didn't believe her. I just have to eat more veggies, but my acne lessened last week! I think I had more again on my jawline because of the cheesy junk food I ate or the new sunscreen I tried just recently.
Note: I'm not eliminating rice from my diet completely because I'm always Asian. I don't eat rice every meal, but I prioritize my protein, and veggies if any. I have two spoons of rice after my meal if I'm craving it, just so I'm satisfied. This happens like thrice a week, but I always have a bowl or cup of rice during Sundays paired with sizzled pork or sausages or inasal. AND if the dish isn't complete without rice, I'm eating rice, esp when eating outside! Again, the culprit isn't the rice. It's my uncontrolled eating.
I apologize for the long speech.

I have noticed too that after cutting down on dairy and eating more fibre my skin has dramatically taken a turn but also i will advise taking zinc pills!!!! i have been taking one every morning for 3 weeks now and my skin has honestly cleared so much from what it was and it’s a natural supplement so no side effects so if anyone is desperate like i was that really does help. However i am still fighting scarring and the occasional break out but i’m honestly so relieved i can relate with you with the menstrual cycle being irregular as i thought i was defo infertile or something ffs
