I'm very Thankful for the hard work that the farmers across the world. For helping put food on the table. I have just started watching Millenial farmer the last couple weeks. During the summer months here in Minnesota. On weekend's I help restore old farm equipment. From the 1800' until now.
You guys absolutely DO NOT get the appreciation you deserve. Food on the table all thanks to your hard work...which all of this is. I've been around farms as my Dad was a crop duster before retiring so I've seen it first hand. Much respect and appreciation for all of you.
I really enjoy your videos MN Millennial Farmer. Things sure have changed a lot in farming since my youth in the 60's and 70's. Everything is so technological now, even so much that you almost need a college degree just to run the equipment. My father was a farmer in South Central Iowa from the mid-50's until the mid-70's. He share rented most of his ground and usually farmed around 1000-1500 acres. He had hired hands until I was old enough to run the equipment, and then I became his hired hand. He ran John Deere's most of his career, but he started out with Farmall tractors. I remember as a little boy of about 4-5 years old riding in the wagon behind him as he picked corn with a 460 Farmall with a 2-row corn picker mounted on it. I also remember his JD 45 and 55 open platform combines, and how he would come home at night covered in bean dust so thick that all you could see was the whites of his eyes and clean circles around them that was covered by the goggles he wore when combining the beans. In 1964 he got his first new JD 4020 Diesel, and then added a second one in 1968. In about 1966 or so he got his first JD 95 combine, and it had a cab, and then his next one was a JD 105 Corn Special, and then he got his first JD 4400 Gas Combine in the early 70's and then replaced it with a JD 4400 Diesel (which was his favorite). Those were the best years of my life, and I sure miss my Dad (he died in 1983).
Watching your videos - make me smile. Grew up working on my Gpa's dairy farm in the Great State of Minnesota. Thank you for bringing back back many great memories. Miss it everyday.
sorry to be so offtopic but does someone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me
@Jabari Jabari i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im trying it out now. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
I love combines. My family used to drive combines and as far back as I can remember I have been fascinated with them. Thank you so much for doing what you do man. You are the reason we eat.
I got here from a farming simulator video, and I wasn't disappointed. Loved seeing the real life machines working and doing their thing. Can't wait to watch more of your videos dude. There's so much more to these things than meets the eye.
Thanks for the video. I used to farm rice before I broke my legs. Now trying to do yard care since it's the closest I can get. Took me back to the good ole days. I ran a cts2 until the year I broke my legs, I was running a 9860 for half the season. Fell asleep on the way home and found a ditch. Rest is history. Thanks again man, this was awesome.
absolutely one of the most informative and enjoyable UA-cam channels...I'm not a farmer, never have been or will be...but the eye opening challenges you face every day, mechanical, logistics, technical, and of course mother nature aside from family life is incredible...thank you, and all farmers for your contributions and dedication, the backbone of America...if Trump really wanted to drain the swamp, we'd all be farmers... like we used to be. Peace :)
My hats off to you sir! It was my favorite time of year . Harvest was my time of year. Long hours an no sleep is what farming is about. Oh how I miss it. God bless you for what you do!
That used to be my absolutely favorite thing to do with my dad. I’d be so excited to get going but he’d keep stopping every few hundred feet to go dig through the chaff. I feel like I can smell the dirt and diesel from my couch!
I love watching your video's Zach as I am very interested in the differences in farming practices between the u.k and America. In the u.k we would never be out combining in the snow or the rain unless we wanted the guys from the nut house to call. Also, u.k farmers are very very reluctant to have to dry crops down unless they really have to as this obviously puts more costs into each tonne of grain, As a farmer you seem to use it a lot of the time and I have never heard you complain once about the extra costs involved.
I gotta say you are my favorite youtube out there! And remember that if someone is riding with you in the combine to make them puts gloves on and clean the rails as they get down!
Just remembered what my Grandfather told me. You can make things foolproof but we just can’t keep fools from using those things. This saying helped me get through the day sometimes.
I’m a brand new subscriber as of today and I gotta say this is one of the very best YT channels EVER! Why? I haven’t a clue, but I watched it for hours!
MN Millennial Farmer Mostly 12 row stuff in my area and seeing a lot more 35-40 flex heads running. I’m about 10 days out on soybeans still finally drilling winter wheat got about 400 acres so far drilled. Maybe start milo tomorrow.
Why am I here. How did this happen. I don't like the country. But somehow these are very satisfying and relaxing videos. Thanks for the hard work sir. You make it work.
Wow! I had my first harvest the last week of May/ first week of June! Of course I live in Florida and only grow corn in my back yard lol. Man I’m glad I found your channel thanks for filming this stuff for us!
Hey guys I would like to thank you for all you guys do . We need food etc and people don’t realize the work you guys do just to grow n harvest the things we need to survive and for that I’m very grateful thanks again and cool video
i am your new subscriber from india and i must say you are not only a farmer. you are engineer, manager and business man. i love how USA farmers use technology to increase their yield and provide your country food security
I climb on and off my tractor about a hundred times a day and can’t figure out why I’m so tired when I get home. Reminds me of the physical effort to reset for a corn head....more work than people think....🤓
We are Threshing Lima beans here on the California coast. Too much moisture also can be a problem for us. Lots of beans end up going out the back of the harvester. I hope you have a great harvest season with few problems.
Pretty cool! My grandpa grew up on a farm out in Iowa and its pretty neat seeing and learning all about the equipment and skills through your videos! Keep it up!
Use to work for a farmer who had a 9670 and I remember doing all this. He taught me how to run it but I prefer hauling back to the bins more excitement to me.
amazing how much work has to be done before you even sit in the cab to harvest.... Farming Simulator doesn't do it justice lol. Thanks for sharing your day! Are you a first generation farmer or is a family tradition? Hope you had a bumper harvest.
7:58 As my previous comment said, I have not a clue about anything farming or it's equipment but it seems like they should have either a button to push in order to lower the "snoutes"(if I spelled it correct?) or a exterior lever to lower all of them at the same time.
Having recently found your channel, I've begun to watch your older playlists. In one of your more recent videos, there was a comment about how lighting has changed drastically on farm equipment. Having heard that, but never experiencing it, now seeing these older episodes, I suddenly realized what that meant. Not only is it far safer, I'm sure, but provides us with better videos. Its neat to see the progression of your channel, your farm and the equipment used.
Thanks for working to feeding us, the wife only has horses and she says here in north America we dont eat them but I beg to differ. Keep goin ol son. Thx again.
Glad I made the first 100K. Really enjoying watching a well run farm having fun at what they do. Wondering way that box in the fridge was empty 😳 First thing I noticed that was mismanaged. Crunch time is here please just remember time with family needs to be first. Thanks Joe

Heck yeah!!

I had no idea how technically advanced such a scale of farming was and is. Amazing, and hats off!

Hi Tom

MN Millennial Farmer You and your family are smashing it mate. Great editing 🙌
Good job not smashing a gate post. 😁
You're so personable, and I love when you explain about harvesting and how a combine works. Keep up the great videos.
That used to be my absolutely favorite thing to do with my dad. I’d be so excited to get going but he’d keep stopping every few hundred feet to go dig through the chaff. I feel like I can smell the dirt and diesel from my couch!
Maybe you need to wash your couch?! Lol!
