Hi Tom. The folks at Ausum reached out to ask how my sales experience was. I gave you and your UA-cam channel 100% credit for showcasing the Leopard. Thanks again. A great little vehicle! Jeff/Annapolis.
HELLO. Tom. Man you do the best reviews on scooters on utube. I love how you Go deep in detail about the scooter. Not many people are doing that. Ausom should have reached out to you. 😎👍🏾
Such an awesome video review. I got mine in a week ago and upgraded to the PMT tires made in Italy🇮🇹 They’re worth the $150 cost. I highly recommend them. It’s like floating on a cloud with this scooter. I also feel like I get much better acceleration, speed and handling when using the saddle (upgraded that to a 13” wide memory foam from Amazon) I’m a 6’2 235lb rider and have reached speeds of 36-37 when riding it like a moped on false flats
The PMT tires are so nice! And whisper quiet compared to the stock hybrid tires. I enjoy the seated configuration a lot more than I thought I would haha.
I'm also looking into the PMT tires for the Leopard. Did it really increase your top speed that much? I'm around the same height & weight as you & only get up to 30 mph on flat roads. I would ditch the OEM tires without thinking twice if the PMT tires gave me that much more performance out of this scooter since I hardly take it off street.
got mine for 700 after the discount code, comes tomorrow. Cant wait, i got a cheap 300 dollar scooter off amazon that goes 19mph and i get around pretty ez on that, but this has nearly triple the battery and shocks. I cant imagine how much smoother things are gonna feel on that morning commute.
It’ll be a night and day difference haha. Like moving from a Ford Focus to a Cadillac sedan. What I love about this scooter is its versatility compared to your typical commuter scooter. Having the extra ground clearance and suspension travel gives you way more options for riding over obstacles. Plus it’s got the seat which is actually quite comfortable if you need it.
@NiSE_Rafter I got hit by a car, about 2 min after I got my first helmet. It bent the back disk break but that's all had to order a new one waiting on it now everything else runs and works. Pretty tough I'd guess. They haven't gotten back to me on warrantee though. Not sure if hit and run counts? Idk.
@@mykal2803 Dang that sucks! At least you had the helmet 👍. Sounds like you're doing okay though? And unfortunately I don't think hit and run counts as warranty... That's more of the idiot driver's liability than the company. Although if it's just the brake disk at least that doesn't seem too hard to change
That was fun to watch! I really like the fact that it does not have an app. I have a NIU, and it almost went back in the box right after I bought it, to be returned because of the app. It still reads miles on the scooter and kilometers on the app, does not seem to record miles/kilometers with much accuracy or reliability, and the blue tooth seems unreliable, you have to turn it off and on repeatedly sometimes. I get the impression the whole scooter could stop working when the app crashes for good.
Yah my NIU wouldn’t record the trips or mileage in app correctly. The app itself looks great, NIU just needs to have someone on their product team actually use their own app to see its deficiencies. If they fix the bugs, they’d have a great app.
This is another great scooter that not only has great performance but is very affordable. I feel most new riders or riders with a commuter wanting to upgrade would feel very comfortable with the price of this scooter, even the Gallop you reviewed is an even better performance option.
Tom! I am gonna ask you a question that I believe that was never discussed as I know of. Can the factory seat for the AUSOM leopard be used on the original AUSOM gallop.the AUSOM website does not offer the seat separately.i call them,e-mail them and they never respond ever.that is a little disappointing 😮😮😢
Ordered this as my first scooter & was very happy with it. Everything you ever want in a scooter but after I got used to it, I feel like I outgrew it. Now I want something a bit faster. I thought 30 mph was good enough, & it is good, but I'm craving for something that will reach something like 45 mph. Still a great scooter though, especially for the price!
See that’s the problem with scooters lol! Once we get used to them and take em to the limits, we look at taking the next step haha. Any scooters in particular you’re looking at?
@tomsgadgetgarage 2 quick questions, In the hidden menu, what is "PC"? Also just got a Kukurin G2 Master. This thing is a blast! What are your thoughts on the G2 Master?
Hello Tom, can you do a video with the AUSOM leopard with the seat attached. I am 58 years old and sometimes I like to ride a scooter like an e- bike.i ride my AUSOM gallop standing up but sometimes sitting down is more comfortable.i think doing this video would bring older riders to your channel.thank you 😊
It’s funny you ask haha. I actually rode around last night with the seat on and plan to make a video tomorrow afternoon :). I may now like riding scooters more with seats haha! I’ll try and publish the video tomorrow evening or sometime Monday.
I have to say that I have about 50 UA-cam channels on scooters and yours is the most enjoyable to watch.😀. Don't loose your inspiration!!😁@@tomsgadgetgarage
Thank you! Both are great options. The Gallop is heavier and has a more plush suspension. If weight isn’t an issue, I’d go for the Gallop. It can handle basically anything you throw at it.
What’s up My guy, Thank you This review is absolutely “Ausom” I just ordered 2 for my Son and I and we are so excited! I reached out to Ausom through email and they sent me a discount code for both of them saved $100.. Total paid 1298! What kind of lock/s would you recommend?
Congrats! That’s a fantastic deal 😀. Very fun scooter all around. I actually just purchased a lock from Litelock, the X1. Took me months to decide because I didn’t want to spend so much money on a lock lol. They are based in the UK and their locks have angle grinder resistance. Too many people out there using angle grinders to remove locks. I would check out this site thebestbikelock.com/. They do thorough tests of most bike/scooter locks and tell you which scenarios each is best for. It definitely helped me a lot. I spent way too much time looking at locks haha.
how many p’s are in the p setting because on the manual it shows all the other p settings but I don’t know if it shows them when you go into the p settings on the scooter like p2 p3 or p4?
@@Dustin-gx4vn it may have been there in the beginning when they first released it but some of the blocked settings are for things like how many magnetic poles the motor has and some other stuff like system voltage.
Hey! So I have two full faced helmets that I use: the O’Neal Sierra II and my new Scorpion EXO R1 Air. Both are excellent choices with great ventilation. I’ll see if I can squeeze in a video on both in the coming weeks.
If weight/portability isn’t a major concern, I’d go with the Leopard. The suspension gives you more options in terms of where you ride. It also gives you the option to use a seat, which is actually surprisingly fun.
Yah that was a bit of a miss. I did briefly mention it and added a clip of me riding with the seat but honestly the video was getting a bit long so I didn’t go into much detail. I’ll be posting a short form video that focuses more on the seat. I plan to have that out in the next couple days.
@@tomsgadgetgaragethanks for the reply. Good job on the video. I’ve seen others review it and say they have coupon code for $700…..is Ausom tryna short change you ?? LoL
@@tomsgadgetgarage yeah it seems like a good buy. I got a question for ya since you review many more than I have even seen…..I want another scooter 🛴 that’s foldable (already have 2 older ones, 1 foldable and the other not foldable). I have been looking at lighter scooters like in the 30 lbs range. I kinda narrowed it down to the Levy for $500 which is 27lbs and easy to carry. The Ausom is much more scooter 🛴 for only $200 more. I am curious on your thoughts about these foldable scooters and their weight. 60lbs plus seems heavy to carry one handed (although I have no experience with carrying heavier scooters….my foldable is prob 25lbs or less with small motor and no suspension and smaller and thinner wheels. Thank you again for the reply 👍👍
So anything above 55 - 60lbs isn’t fun to carry around in a folded state. It’s doable but really not comfortable. Plus scooters in that weight range are also larger and easy to bang your legs with. They are definitely waaaaaaaay more comfortable to ride compared to the sub 50lb category, but are a bit more difficult to transport.
I just ordered one, I want to order solid tires for it so I don't have to worry about flats, any recommendations or may anyone point me in the right direction to purchase solid tires for the leopard? I'd really appreciate it.
Nice! Have you considered adding some Slime to the tubes? Solid tires are great for avoiding flats, but they are a pain to change out and don’t do as well in wet conditions. You’d need to find 10” x 3” tires with a 6” inner diameter.
Thank you, I think I'll consider the tire slime I haven't found any solid tires that'll fit the leopard unless you know of any sites that are selling them?
@@jazonjimenez..02.32 ordered mine from the Ausom website, I live in California so it only took 1 day to process and came in 2 days. I think the warehouse is in LA somewhere
Only 61 lbs without seat?? It's listed at a few tenths under 70lbs on the site. Problem is, im a fat guy, and a few lbs over the stated max rider weight. I think i may need the extra power of the gallop, but 85lbs is a bit too much. My first scooter was 97lbs and i told myself id never get one that heavy again for commuting.
Yah the seat adds quite a bit of weight. If you’re above the max weight I’d recommend the gallop. The dual motors make all the difference. When you commute with it do you take it inside with you or do you lock it up outside?
@tomsgadgetgarage it would be coming inside the building with me. Security is kind of a pain where I work, too. I haven't asked them directly if I can bring a scooter inside, but I have a feeling ill have a better chance of slipping through the cracks if I'm carrying a folded scooter vs just pushing it inside with the stem upright.
So it’s IP54 rated meaning it can withstand splashes from all directions. I’ve ridden both the Gallop and the Leopard in light rain conditions unintentionally. Now with that being said, most scooter companies don’t cover water damage, so there’s that.
