Rap and Metal is a strange combination, and theres loads of artists that do it. Alot of Numetal can come out cringe and alot can actually be really good. But today we're talking about the EVOLUTION of Numetal and we're gonna see who can pull it off the best

Imma say Linkin park fo sure... they have the most impact than anyone in the genre, mixed it in a way that no one has been able to recreate as well, and honestly.. held the biggest influence... along with like slipknot and deftones. They were the first and honestly the last to do what they did.
There are so many Linkin Park clones but nobody does it as good as them
but every year since minutes to midnight, they're becomes weaker.
@@AlAensland nahh, just still changing. Still trend setter, always topping charts, making songs that connect with millions of people. Still doing things that no one did. If they were becoming weaker, they wouldnt have been able to do any of that. Just because you dont feel it, doesnt mean their work is discredited, it would be objectivley wrong.
slipknot is pop metal lawl
@jjoltt4586 First two albums aren't pop metal. Shit is pretty heavy
Making Finn Mckenty proud ;)
Hopefully one day he adopts me
City Morgue and Ghostmane are sick! Hope Zilla starts to feel better and most don't know he was the ghost writer for 6xine9.
Saw both them live at grey day tour for $uicideboys. Was very sad that City Morgue only preformed for maybe 20 minutes or so but Ghostemane had near an hour or more it seemed and his set was fuckin awesome.
@D.A.R.2324 Hell yea thats a sick lineup! I dig Ghostmane the most out all of them he's a cool dude.
He’s like a genre encyclopedia
The new falling in reverse does not slap 🤦♂️
Fr, entertaining video but some awful takes
Slipknot is metal poetry and makes a pretty good Iowa whiskey as well
I absolutely love this video, but I wish you included more modern day artists such as RÜMI!Lavigne, Deijuvhs, BVDLVD, Pezzhead, Nasty Noona, DirtyButt, GuapSensai and RejectedReyna. These artists would be a perfect part 2 project speaking on new rock, metel, and rap mixed and stylistic artists.
he also should had cover the subgenre of horrorcore called brutal horrorcore with bands like butchers harem being really good
Kim Dracula soo f*king good
unity tx is the modern answer
I’ll check em out (:
Do yall remember Bodycount?
suprised landmvrks or hacktivist wasn't on the list. personally I love the thally djenty guitars of hacktivist, but not the biggest fan of their vocalists rapping styles. also Darko US is pretty insane with their rappy influences
As A Pretty Big Hacktivist Fan, I Was Confused On Why He Didn’t Mention Nor Apparently Never Check Them Out. Considering He’s Coming From A Rap/Hip-Hop Background, They Would Be The First Band I’d Recommend To Him!
Dope has some amazing stuff
They are one of my all time favourites. Got a ton of their CDs. Love Edsel.
Saw them and static x recently. Doing that shit back to back has gotta be hard
rage against the machine, for me.
This is the only right answer
100%
Zack has a lot of non metal feature too
Fun Fact: ICP and Fred Durst actually made a song together
Didn’t Shaggy 2 Dope try and fail to drop kick Fred durst while Fred was on stage preforming?
"music you wanna punch your homies to" THAT SENT MEEEEE LMAOOOO
shouldve brought this out like a few weeks later cuz of pink tape
i swear i had the same thought lmao
TEN 56 and Weeping wound are great examples of modern deathcore mixed with rap/ hip hop vibes
hell yeah, ill check it out!
hmm, and what about the Hacktivist band?
it's progmetal/djent+rap and it sounds G-R-E-A-T!
welp , now im confused , is for example , no face no case , beatdown and trap/rap metal ? or is it a different genre ?
My band played with the band on your shirt man, they gave me that same shirt!
Ho99o9 for the intensity, Bloodhound Gang for the party vibes
What Attila song snippet did you play? I cant figure out which song it is
Putting Deftones in Grungy Nu metal is gonna touch some nerves. That said, I'm glad i found this channel. Criminally undersubbed
Yeah kinda more post-hardcore/post-metal. But agreed crazy undersubbed
Iowa and selftitled Slipknot is my favorite
I'mma bands like Likin Park and purple dragons do it best because Likin Park a lot of their songs have some great rap verses combined with amazing vocals and I think the chemistry between Mike and Chester is just unmatched and they have influenced a lot of artists of today as for purple dragons the metal vocals are really clean and the rap versus are nice whether they're in Japanese or English trap metal is cool too though
the rappers that are trying to do metal today. I just got one thing to say that to that shit. YOU'RE FUCKING WELCOME! My brother and I from 2005-2007 made what could very well be the blue print to rap metal today. The song ft our homie ed gain called Victorious which is up on my page is an early form of what's happening today. again I say YOU'RE FUCKING WELCOME!
Ah, this subway surfers gameplay! Can't stop watching this video
I know that Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Faith No More rap, or have rapped in their songs, pre nu metal.
I'm fairly certain Mike Patton only rapped on Epic to make fun of Anthony Keidis
@@hdervish2497 He kinda raps on "Surprise! You're Dead!" as well.
Kim Dracula. That's all you need for an amalgamation of genres.
The thing no one will say, but the best combination of Rap and Metal Anthrax say what you want. In the 80s, Metal and Rap was something nobody could combine until Anthrax came along. It was the very first collaboration with Rap that was and still is respected by the Metal community. Well Nu metal is a whole genre, but it's the least respected by the metal community and I can see why. The only one that's done really well is Rage Against the Machine. I am a very Thrash guy, so I probably have other opinion than you...
Dude i remember when that came out, i was in highschool and it blew me away!
Nu metal is like pop punk, it’s mixing two polar opposite genres together and I loveee it
limp bizkit and insane clown posse are both under the same billthis year at Blue Ridge Rock Fest. and.. attila. lol
Hey I got a suggestion for you which is one of my favorite bands that blends this pretty well which is P.O.D
Noone in comments mentions Ghostemane. I hope ghostemane is at least in the video. Because that's the other side of this, instead of just bands doing rap influence, there's rappers with metal influence.
EDIT: nice ghoste is in the video
I'm not a big rap guy at all, and even I like a few Ghostemane songs, the guy is pretty cool.
@happycat4838 Check out City Morgue and One of the members Zillakamis solo stuff!
I would say WLR era Playboi Carti also is one of them but not as much as XXXTENTACION. X was on another level
I was a Deftones kid for sure
It’s a crime to not mention sematary
Tech N9ne also collaborated with Jonathan Davis of Korn.
Can we talk about the smol dark one?
The post he took the Nu Metal sub genres from was..... ehhhh..... something else.
Im curious, in which genre does Hollywood Undead belong 🤔
There's also great rap metal bands around in the early 90s
Id actually say linkin park is reverse rap.
They started out as a rap rock group then evolved into nu metal and then hard rock.
But albums like meteora and some hybrid theory, are more hip hop based then rock based from a production point of view.
What someone needs to do is drill/trap fused with djent, prog, or even math rock. Thats how nu metal could come around revived. Ik some bands are doing modern nu metal, like sleep theory, from ashes to new. But mixing it with drill or trap is probably a better more evoled idea. So if you're a musician do make stuff like that would love to hear it, im actually releasing a song soon, which is a trap/metal hybrid. But we need more artists!!!!
You know what is funny my mom who really isn't interested in metal or rap came up with the nickname for the worst one at it Little Bitch because my short older brother's red hat with just LB on it from red hat and initials can you guess what band she gave that nickname
It's without a doubt Death Grips
good video
Limp Bizkit: Hello
Kim Dracula fo sure atm, hunt the dinosaur too
Pump Rock is so bad I love it
carti is the future, write what i’m saying
I listen to scarlxrd when i workout
i need a lobotomy after watching this
The best is Archspire. The tech death band from Canada. Oli Peters is super underrated Vocalist. He is heavily influenced by Tech9. The best part most of people who commented in this video don't know about Archspire. I think u guys should check 'Bleed The Future' by Archspire.
My first listen of metal mixed with rap was falling in reverse, his earlier versions of this sucked ass (Alone) but his newer stuff is actually decent (Popular Monster)
Bwomp by mushroomhead
You should’ve mentioned ho99o9
Damn sematary would have been perfect for this video
Honestly i think the best mix is spit it out by slipknot 🤘🙌
Anthrax and Public Enemy after that pure crap!
What about industrial nu metal
I like trap metal but to me its just not a blend of rap and metal rather its just rap made by people influenced by metal
There really isnt anything metal about it the genre just shares a similar energy. To me saying trap metal is rap and metal is like saying southern style metalcore is metalcore and country. I think FIR is probably the best modern example of an actual blend of rap and metal
I agree completely and that’s kinda why it annoys me a lil bit when people are like “oh I listen to metal” and then it’s basically just aggressive trap. I don’t mind that much but I agree with what you’re saying
Trap metal is essentially metal fans making rap music, compare that to something like Linkin Park or Papa Roach, which are much more a blend of rap and metal. Rap metal honestly is a very strange area with many extremes, bands like system of a down and slipknot have very little rap influence in terms of music, it’s more in mood and feel… basically reverse trap metal
I agree honestly the horrorcore stuff or reverse nu metal is more metal than trap metal .
I really don’t think system of down should even be classified as nu metal. They don’t rap and honestly as far as Melody and harmony goes They are on a level far higher, the most all of the nu metal bands.
Tallah is also a good one, they’re a relatively newer band tho
Tallah is so good
HEY MAN WAKE UP AND SMELL THE CONCRETE
Yeah Atilla would be modern Beasie Boys if fight for your right wasn't ironic and Atilla wasn't garbage
Zillakami is the best period
nu-metal? Oh yeah Limp Bizkit definitely my favorite band
backxwash ?
When rappers infuse metal its trap metal
Kim Dracula
You haven't mentioned body count...
Deftones, the best to me. ✨🖤
Unitytx,ghostemane
Faith no more.
sematary
itsoktocry and Gizmo are my 2 faves from this genre. And of course Kim Dracula, idk if he falls into this genre. Yeah u guess he does
that mix doesn't result
Evanescence don't count as that
They barely even count as nu metal tbh
Ronnie Radke🤘🤘
linkin park
subway dumfers
Poorstacy
Rage against the machine did rap and metal the best out of anyone
Ronnie Radke for me. The guy is just pure mint!
Mf says he doesn’t like nu-metal but then says Tech N9Ne is good 💀
Trap metal is litterly the worst genre to have ever existed. There’s no metal in it whatsoever .
Great video, but Falling in Reverse is some of the worst music I've ever heard.
If that's the worst then you haven't listened to bad music lol
@@honestalex5790 What would you call worse?
@@luetenantapple5524 unicorn by 1 800 zombie, stuff like that in general lol
The singer for Falling in Reverse sounds like Billy from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy lol
This is not cool. It should just be a new genre it'll make many not be a part of it.
Ronnie radke is so talented 🤘🥰
Me when I lie
JUST LOOK UP Hannya Cha0$ 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
