      @sega32xxx14 3 роки тому +18

      The actual man is definitely dead. Alarmingly young, but he had a massive issue working against him that his death amongst those around him was incredibly unfortunately more of an inevitability rather than something that would grab him unexpectedly. That's not to say that it couldn't have been stopped, but the man dealt with a massive amount of emotional pain an instability that he refused to have addressed in a professional way because he seemed to endlessly look at that admission as inarguable and pitiable weakness, and to be pitied or perceived as weak was absolutely unacceptable in his eyes, and this was something that was never going to be changed, truly a core belief or at least instinct that was inevitably irreversible. I just hope he is at peace, like every decent person with good intentions deserves to be.

    This was probably the best posthumous video about DOOM I’ve seen so far. It’s been pretty taxing trying to reminisce against a backdrop of “reaction” videos where cats clearly don’t understand the subject matter, but persuade you to “smash that like button” before delivering their pathetic version of a fitting tribute to one of the most high. The man is a legend and should never have to wait in line before self promotion. Thanks for a good video right here. ALL CAPS TO YOU.

    One thing that captures the “youth” his tie in with comics/mystery behind the mask. AS A WHOLE, ANYONE who has ever covered up their identities while performing has often been immortalized in either clothing or art. It’s a business move, but it’s also very hard to keep up. Meaning you gotta keep the mystery out goin with substance. I dunno. He’s smart. He was independent to an extent and took advantage of not doin as much as he was “supposed” to. Smart.

    • @MentalPistol
      @MentalPistol 3 роки тому +23

      @@WeejerWeejer I'm not saying DOOM hated rap, I would think that he just was not a fan of what rap became. Like he wasn't really getting inspired by it.
      People from that era didn't only grow up with rap music like the youth of today. I would know, because I'm one of them. Back when Doom was young, rap was feeding off jazz, soul, rnb, reggae, etc.. even pop music! Kids and their parents listened to a variety of music, which contributed to the hip hop of that day having a completely different vibe and way more variety. The Hip Hop of the past 15-20 years or so only feeds off of itself. It only gets inspiration from itself. The kids today grow up hearing mostly rap.. and only certain types of rap and this is what they replicate en masse. There is a bit of variety but not nearly much as the older days, and because the roots were removed, the variety and innovation grows at a snails pace. Everything has been seen before countless times by all but the very young, but most people seem to be able to tolerate monotony. There are some people that will tune out when they feel like they're getting nothing inspirational or otherwise from it. My two cents.

    I feel the same way as Mos Def. RIP to the Mad Flows Super Villain! The GOAT lyricist and the God of the Underground. I will always collect and binge all of Dumile's music and instrumentals. An OG backpacker who mysteriously villainized the rap scene with his creative and masterful writing and production. He should be honored for one of the most important musicians and artists, in modern history. Now DJ Subroc and DOOM are re-united in the clouds with unlimited music. I hope some more music gets put out there, that was unreleased.

    For people who didn't know MF DOOM's real name it might have been confusing for u to start calling him Daniel and Dumile before establishing that Daniel Dumile was his real name. A lot of people could probably figure out after hearing a few times but I've known DOOM's real name for ages and even I was confused when u started calling him Daniel before even establishing that that was his first name
