Doctor Who 14x1 "Space Babies" Reaction (from a 13 fan)

Hello! Welcome to the channel! Today we are checking out the premiere of the new season of Doctor Who. Been really looking forward to the new season after watching the Christmas special and 60th anniversary episodes. Have heard good things so hopefully it ends up being pretty fun!
As I mention in the intro I am a bit of a weird Doctor Who fan. I've seen bits and pieces of Tennant's run, a few episodes here and there of some of the other runs, and then all of 13's. Because of this I will be missing lots of info but hopefully you guys can help me out in the comments whenever important info pops up.
Hoping to get my reactions up within 24 hours of the air date but obviously these videos take time so it may be a bit more of a wait. Aiming for Wednesday/Thursday for episode 2 and then hopefully Sundays for the rest of the season.

I'd have to go back and look but I just sort of enjoyed it as a whole. Jodie Whittaker is just so likeable that I found myself wanting to keep watching episodes. The budget increase / more modern look also played a big part into it I think. I've never been a huge fan of shows/movies that are on a lower budget, or just simply old. I find it hard to dive into shows that don't look more modern or stylish. That's obviously a big part of the charm for most Doctor Who fans from what I understand but it definitely played a part in my general 'meh' feeling about the episodes I have seen pre-13. I did really enjoy Tennant's episodes last year for the 60th so that probably does make a lot of sense. Maybe I'll go back and try again at some point with a more open mind.

Hey you are right that a lot of fans didnt like Jodies run (although nearly everyone agrees she was a great Doctor).

Definitely understandable as well. I agree with a lot of the general dislike of the writing for her run. Sucks cause she was so much fun.
