Plus she was Mrs. Merridew taking to Isaac Newton at the beginning of Wild Blue Yonder with Tennant’s Doctor. @@Adri_Unsung You call that "The golden age"?? Haha. NO. I never accepted post 2005 as genuine Doctor Who, never mind as a golden age. The Golden age was Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker in the 70s. All genuine Whovians know this. Reboot Doctor Who is a pale, Americanised imitation of what the classic series was, why it was great, and why fans kept it loved for so long. I hated the reboot from the start...and it's only gotten worse since it went politically woke during the Capaldi days. *An absolute travesty.*
@@The_Cosmic_Yog-Sothothokay so watch the old ones and shut up
@@Adri_Unsung It's the fact I'm forced to pay for this woke fabrication of Doctor Who via the licence fee that leads me to speak out. If your entire counter argument is just "Shut up" then you really are the loser. *Shrugs*
The intro where they looked at the camera and started the intro was coooold. I liked it alot
These making off videos are so important. All the work done behind the scenes, that is incredible!
Jinx really is America's Next Drag Superstar. She's achieved more with her career than any of the other queens from the show. First Broadway and now the BBC!
DO not care
@@paularc1899 you obviously cared enough to comment dorkus.
She’s the queen of all queens
@@paularc1899 You care so much man
Tough to argue with that!
There’s something so satisfying about how they say Maestro
RTD life mission is always saving doctor who.
I love jinx monsoon I was super happy to see them in my favourite show!!!!
I didn't know Jinkx before this episode, and her performance captured me. Amazing!
I think you could use the Cold Open to "The Devil's Chord" as a primer for all of Doctor Who. Like the gateway episode. 15 minutes in you get all the info you'll ever need. Jinkx delivers a career defining role - a masterclass in acting now on Disney+. This is TV too good for TV. Bravo to everyone involved.
I love the practical effects. They really add a lot to the show, especially with Maestro being sort of a more Classic Who villain.
This episode was totally mad. I loved it.
AHHHH! I absolutely LOVED this episode! Everything single detail in this episode was *on point*, especially Maestro!
Can wait until see what one who waits is
I never realized how much practical effects, bravo.
Loved Maestro's energy the whole episode, jus this force of nature who was so entertaining but also terrifying. Hope they come back in some way, clearly we saw their child lingering so deffo doors left open.
Jinxx deserves an Emmy
For what???
@@tl1110 probably for what they did, dingus
@tl1110 for a stand out performance.
Love their performance. They really embodied the same deranged and meniacle attitude their father (toymaker) did in the last special. Loved it.
stand out performance hgaagaggagahahahahahahhaha
Jinkx brings the glorious ham that has always been a hallmark of excellent villains on Doctor Who. Long live Maestro!
this was an amazing episode my jaw dropped by meastro's performance definetly hyped for the rest of the season
Extremely happy The Doctor is back. Great couple of episodes. Kinda bummed no actual Beatles tunes but overall very enjoyable.
@MostlyBritish_Gaming yeah, the copyright would be half their budget lol
@@joclark4619 And if anything went wrong they'd have to spend more money editing the episodes and removing the songs and references to them, it's not worth the money it could cost.
I’m sorry but did no one notice the same women has appeared in these first three Gatwa episodes??? She appears at 4:38 in The Church on Ruby Road, then at 22:57 as Coms Officer Gina Scalzi in Space Babies, then at 11:09 giving tea to the Doctor and Ruby in The Devil’s Chord. Plus she was Mrs. Merridew taking to Isaac Newton at the beginning of Wild Blue Yonder with Tennant’s Doctor. So she must be someone bigger than Ruby’s plot line because she does seem to be following the Doctor regardless of companion. Any theories??? I looked up the movie and song she mentions in two of her scenes but I can’t find an obvious connection.
it seems like when bad wolf kept appearing but in a physical appearance could be susan spread across time or the one who waits
She's Susan Twist. And you know...there's always a _twist_ in the end. 🤫
Jinkx delivered SO HARD I LOVE THE PERFORMANCE
Okay, I'll admit I'm slow on the uptake. It wasn't until hearing it the second time that I noticed "There's Always A Twist At The end" is the Toymaker's laugh.
maestro’s outfits were fabulous, particularly the first.
This episode blew me away I'm obsessed
I am *ecstatic* that this incarnation of The Doctor gets to wear all different types of outfits!! Such a huge wardrobe in the TARDIS and it so rarely gets used! I love that it also shows how much he's changed and become more free to express his happy side!
This video answered so many questions for me. I loved this episode!!!
I was hoping there'd be a moment where they had to get back to the TARDIS and enter the wrong police box, but what they did was cool as well.
this episode might just be my favourite of the season ALREADY, it’s that good!
I'd no idea that the musical notes were also practical effects too!
Yes, I thought that was non-diegetic.
this is my favourite episode from this season!!!!
This episode of DW I think single handedly showcased the best costume design ever. At least it didn't have no space babies.... That was just weird.
Did not like the space babies episode at all, ugh. This one, though, was brilliant. Maestro’s costumes were just stunning. What else could you do for a drag queen though? 😂💙
I hated Space Babies. My husband is trying to like Doctor Who because I like Doctor Who. He watched Space Babies with me, and I apologized. Then we watched the Maestro episode, and all was forgiven. He said Jinkx is the best villain he's ever seen.
loved this episode so much, maestro was amazing
So… can we all finally agree that this season and this Ncuti as the doctor, are going to be a banger?!
Agreed!! I'm loving this so far!! Ncuti and Millie have such an awesome joyful, energetic energy!! The cast is superb!
@@juli859 exactly. I’m enjoying the chemistry and more explorative, even bond they’re sharing rather than the doctor feeling like this omnipotent presence. This balance is going to open so many doors and experiences we wouldn’t have seen otherwise with a bond that relies on each other rather than Just on the doctor
sadly there are so many people hating this season, saying its the worst ever. I REALLY enjoy this season so much. Ncuti and Millie are just AWESOME together. They have so much chaotic and happy energy that I enjoy every second they are on screen. Space Babies was a little weird, but still enjoyable. and Maestro was just FANTASTIC. sure, some things were really silly but in my opinion, these are things that just makes doctor who as special as it is
hard disagree, it's back to JNT levels of panto
Dr who is fanfic at this point.
loved the episode a whole lot! i just love that i can feel a lot of emotions being brought back into series that i missed dearly. the whimsey and over the top ideas are so appreciated. but the episode was most outstanding for me for the maestro. what an amazing villain! and the actress they found for them was just beyond expectations. i could feel myself be not only immersed and entertained by their performance but also overwhelmed by their charisma. this is what a stunning performance is about! i actually caught myself saying "who is this actress?" out loud twice during the episode. i hope we'll have the chance to see them return sometime!
The series so far has been fabulous. I thoroughly enjoyed all three episodes. Jinyx Monsoon was amazing. Love tge chemistry betwee The Doctor & Ruby. So nice to just emerse myself in my Whoniverse again. Thank you. Jane in New Zealand 🇬🇧🇳🇿
Honestly, this episódios deserves awards. At the bare minimum for costume design and makeup.
This episode was sinply delightful and will be an episode I will be reaching out to many times in the future to watch over and over again.
And we better not forget, THERE'S ALWAYS A TWIST IN THE END!
More musical theatre stars on Doctor Who please! It’s perfect!🎉
At one point Maestro says "sound and vision". That's also a song from David Bowie's Low, which has a cover featuring Bowie with red-dyed hair and a high collar. I really hope that's a reference and not a coincidence.
When she’s doing that scene, she poses like the album art. Definitely not a coincidence, as the doctor would say 😂.
I was 200% on board with this episode. I love the chaotic energy of the Pantheon entities.... burning with barely suppressed insanity.
It just really has me curious about what sort of evil is going to pop up next!! Loving this! NPH as Toymaker....now Maestro. Just completely awesome!
She was just perfect as Maestro
Jinkx was an inspired casting choice and absolutely pitch perfect as Maestro. I hope we get to see the character again in future episodes.
Very much looking forward to the next god like enemies / gifts from The Toy Maker. NPH And Jinkx were both amazing, who’s next??
Seems like filming this episode was filled with joy
I love that they do so much real with just digital enhancement: the puppetry bits were interesting to see implemented. Jinxx I’ve loved for years: what a great casting and so good to see her living her fullest fantasy!
I was very surprised how good these first two episodes were
Jinkx was amazing as Emerald in Steven Universe, and Jinkx was *_amazing_* here!
As someone else said, Jinkx totally knocked out out of the park!
it's been a while since doctor who villans have honestly freaked me out but The Toymaker and The Mistro really have done it. It's honestly down to
Jinx, of course, is the best of the best. This shows how these top level drag queens talent is levels above! They are not triple threats but more like octo-threats! I hope this is only the beginning for Jinx and many others.
Lots of new weight added to RTD mentioning Pyramids of Mars now.
Completely nuts! Loved it.
Amazing performance, felt similar to Missy in some ways but also very different. I hope Jinkx returns sooner rather than later!
Missy was part of Jinkx's inspiration for the role
