Brother, your coaching sessions are actually so well done! The writing down note part actually helps a lot, and you are super chill, eager to point out things that are well done, and most importantly never ridicule your student (which you really can't tell of every Coach sharing sessions on YT). If you would like to have a session with me, i would be very grateful. I just can't really contribute financially right now. >.< (Hard stuck in Ancient; and also hardstuck in not sufficient beh score. Help for a stronger mentality would be an important issue. But offcourse also the Dota mechanics itself.) Let me know if you can imagine it :)
@@daneo1952Thank you for the positive feedback bro. Sometime down the road when I hit milestones in views and subscribers, I will give away coaching sessions to a select few so do keep an eye out for that. :)
Oustanding video, very insightful, damn I haven't been thinking about some of the concepts here. Moving outside xp range was completely out of my mind, amazing stuff
One of the best practical guides to play pos 5. With hero suggestions to safely clear waves - which is a dangerous job mid-game when the cores are farmed. And just jump and kill you. Would you also put warlock in same pool now with upheaval and shard? Do make a pos 3 guide as well please. Sometimes we end up in that role too.
this is so helpful, i feel like i play a pretty good support but i often am lost when my team is not doing their jobs, i realize now i need to be doing it in their place instead of pinging lol. just the thought process behind how to look at the map and decide where to go is a great help.
Subbed! Really good educational content with your analyses, and you don't just spout generic tips that most players won't know how to apply in their games. Looking forward to more!
Good Video especially the "lost after landing phase". It's exactly the problem if you farm or take the abandoned lane as support and then get blamed if they camp mid as 3 or 4 people. Instead of spreading and push in other lanes
The best advice that you can give to support main players is try to play core/carry/offlane (pos1/pos2). So that you will know the perspective of a core/carry main player and sync your gameplay with your carry. Because some supports doesn't empathize with their carry and force their gameplay on their team. Sample: instead of waiting at the neutral camps to pull. Try to help CS with your carry than doing nothing waiting at the neutral camps.
Im new to the game. 3 days of understanding dota. And end up here in your channel. Its a very good explaination. I guess i'll just play like this. Untill i understand the items & heroes 😂
Thanks for the video been waiting for a support based one. If u wouldn't mind answering this question as it's something I struggle with an maybe some others when do u decide or think a support should commit to a gem? Sometimes I find myself wondering should I just gem? Or keep up with the dust an sentries.
If the game progresses to like mid game where you have achieved most of your important items on support, then yes you could definitely consider looking into Gem after that.
What I find difficult to understand is. When to join a fight and when not to. Specifically fights you know are pointless and especially fights you know are unwinnable. I mean yes around that rank people like to take random fights, as long as they see enemy, they take the fight. And a lot of times I find it obvious we shouldnt take it. I mean the kind we can get wiped without really having a trade that's worth anything, basically just us feeding more if we take the fight. You might think my judgement is wrong but I know I'm not because the teamate would start blaming the one not in the fight who is alive and well when they lose the fight. And not just that, they ask why he didnt come or something along those line Without thinking whether it was even possible for that ally to come and join the fight at all. So basically theres always a few allies that takes a fight thinking our whole team is there, but they dont bother checking, because in their mind they just want to fight, they havent checked the map in 30 seconds and notice the carry is farming far away and doesnt seem to join us. So what happens then? Say it's likely we get wiped and not get more kill if I join Should I just abandon them and let them feed, so I dotn feed them more or what? Because this happens a lot in fight. They behave so randomly, and the only way to help is to just follow them if there 2 or 3 of them roaming in areas they might bump into enemies. I feel like this is, a lot of time wasted for me as a support tagging along some core farming. Because these core jusy expect you to be ready anytime they engage. They never checked the team positions before they start roaming around aimlessly. That's another thing they're not going for any objective or really for farming they dont know what better to do either. They hope to bump into 1 wandering enemy and catch them and maybe more. And I often find myself stuck in such situations where I just have to tag along 24/7. There are times where were roaming ( again, not full team, usually no carry) and there are literally 2 of our lanes being shoved in and the enemy creep is just in front of our tower. But they dont see it, and they keep roaming aimlessly. The right thing is obviously to clear those waves so we dont get caught in a fight while enemy creeps are hitting our tower. If I tp, and even inform them, theyd still roam aimlessly, and since they dont check map or team position, they assume I'm still there and go about like they have gank potential. Then they suddenly bump into enemy just shortly after to, clash and they get wiped and just feed for nothing. I dont know if the right decision is for me to def the tower since no one is doing it, or tag along and babysit them, because at least if I'm with them even if its outnumbered fight the outcome might be better. Also theres that risk of them dying and finding out you're not there and you become that scapegoat and reason for them to grief. Even though they're the one making the wrong move and decision.
Really love your style of coaching and have been subbed for a good while now. Thanks for what you do. This is just a me problem but I cannot help but feel pretty demotivated after listening to 4:40 to about 5:17 I am a solo wyvern specialist. Archon 4. I have several secondaries I can play but 95% or more of the time im on wyvern. Wyvern is uhh not the best obviously so its pretty discouraging when that saying im basically doomed to fail. Its my problem and nothing on you or this video
Hi, unfortunately what I tell my students are often the reality. In lower brackets, your cores are often not very well versed in macro concepts such as understanding timings, power spikes, when to group/split etc. As a result, supports are often left with a ton of space to hold lanes/hit camps/do much more efficient things with their time instead. This in turn causes many supports to become somewhat farmed because of what their cores failed to do. As a result, heroes that can work better with items and scale/push waves are often the way to go in these games if winning is the goal.
Yes, that would have been the best play definitely. Once the game progresses to later parts of 25-30 mins onwards, heavy focus is placed on grouping with teammates after waves cause you can contribute a lot more to fights now. But in the first 15-25 mins, prioritize more wave pushing and lane holding whenever possible to hit your items as a support unless urgent scenarios come up.
Something that really frustrates me about a lot of Dota 2 coaches is that they focus on correcting the outcomes instead of the process that their students used to get to the bad outcomes. It really stunts learning by teaching players "if you do this instead you'll do better" instead of teaching them why and the process of arriving at that solution. A lot of Dota coaches could be a lot better at teaching by using a constructivist teaching style.
I understand your point. But thats hard because not everyone thinks or acts with same mindset to make those mistakes. So they focus on the right way and tells you what you have to do to archive that. Its part of the process to learn any competitive game...been good or been bad at it.
Hi can you help me I'm midlaner I can lane well and gank well but my enemies are feeded from my teammates even if I lose lane I farm but my team just give up or feed finish fast I mainly play invoker I started it 2 weeks ago and mastered it and arc warden For example I could almost solo carry a game with arc warden but my team just stole al my kills and I couldn't buy mkb for enemy pa I almost killed pa but we lost because I couldn't get mkb I can't carry the with invoker most times but I some times can and same happens I know I should focus on my own game but I can't win games with bad team When my team don't push at all even with characters like sprit braker I can't do anything my mmr went from 500 to 100 I can play with necrophose and easily win games but I don't want to do that to rais mmr with character and not skill same will happen
Hey bro, if most games you find that your teammates are feeding, high chance it has got to do with something you might be doing in your games that is a repeated pattern. For example, if you consistently lose lanes, you would enable the enemy mid laner space to run you and your teammates down which can lead to the effect of feeling like your side lanes are always losing. At the same time, if you manage to win your lane often, you would actually draw attention from the enemies to try and gank you which indirectly prevents your teammates from feeding cause now all the attention is drawn to you. There are probably much much more reasons I can think of that makes you feel the way you feel in your games, but trust me it has got to do with how we play the game. Every player in dota has a way to significantly contribute to the win rate of their team.

For the spot at 30:30 could it make sense to walk top from base in order to save tp for when fight breaks out mid?

In this scenario, mid was an urgent scenario so definitely the play was to walk top, push lane then tp mid when urgency calls.
