We had a 7800 that had 17,000 hours on it. the only items we had to replace on its engine was a water pump and a couple of starters. Out of concern, we rolled new rod and main bearings in. In pulling a couple of caps we realized that it was an unnecessary procedure. It didn't really need it. Outstanding longevity and reliability. And when we finally upgraded and sold it, resale value was actually more than we paid for it.
Nothing says we know we built a very weak PTO like making it very simple to remove to rebuild 5.9 L dry Block versus the 8.1 L wet sleeve zero comparison I love the little 5.9 but there's no way it's putting torque down like that 8.1 Let's not talk about the power shift option Dear has always sucked at making things very accessible. The gear-driven water pump is a terrible design that they still use today Dear took way too long to figure out the left hand reverser
That had to be a real hard sell for C/IH back then, you can't get much better than a 7810, I have run both models, never once did I think wow, this baby MX is better than the 7810.
I like the Mx of those years but my favorite tractor is a 7810. Wish I could go back and order a late model 02 03 7810 autoquad transmission with lhr 741 loader all the bells and whistles they seem impossible to find these days I guess everyone who had one is keeping it forever I think that would be the ultimate cattle and hay operation tractor.
I'm a huge Deere guy (12 small to large farm tractors ranging from X700-JD 9220 and 2 JD combines), but I gotta admit, Deere copied A LOT from this MX when they come out with a 7820. We own both a 7800 & 7820...big differences in those tractors and a lot of what this video describes as advantages to Case IH, the 7820 ended up with them. One thing I can't figure out, is why the resale value of a 7810 is sometimes greater than the 7820...it's like going from a nice Chevy to a Cadillac....just my opinion.

💯 We own a 7800 and love it.
Like how they conveniently left out the fact that the 7810 has a 8.1l engine vs the mxs 5.9
great point.
I'lll take the 7810 any day. They are very dependable and durable. And have a much larger engine.

I love how the didn't put duals on the 7810 giving it a disadvantage it would have walked all over that MX170 if it had duals
25 years has really shown which was the better tractor.

you'll certainly pay if you find a nice one. One recently sold for well over 100k...I think it was like 120?
@ They definitely bring a premium but I believe that’s for a reason.

people dont wish they had a mx 170 m but alot wish they had a low hr 7810 hahah
Im all for case and the 5.9 but the 7810 with an 8.1 is a way better machine
Put them both in a sale and see who the winner is. I’d love low hours 7810
Nice try genius,I'd rather have Deere, Massey Ferguson and CAT thank you.
