The whole idea of this game is to knock all the enemies down with a single shot so you can get extra lifes and spell the word SNOW..😄
In the late 90s they used to have the Snow Bros arcade machine at the airport, i would always play it when waiting for our flight. They really should bring back arcade machines to airports!
Sadly, not that many people would play them
I used to play this game at 7-11. I always sucked at it though.
The Great Giana Sisters..
Was about to say the same thing!
Tayebz Tayebz There was a sequel on Steam in 2012 which was on PlayStation and Xbox in 2013, and apparently a DS game in 2009
And the DS game was ported to pc in hd too
Chubzdoomer yeah..what kind of gamemaster are you when u don't know the most famous Mario-clone of them all.
Wagoo giana michaels?
There's a shortcut/easter egg on the 12th floor of this game... You go towards the lower left side, climb in between the "=" shaped region and shoot right. It will take you to a lottery, where depending on your score, you will skip as many floors. Try it out!
Thanks bro
Great game. I used to finish it in the arcade version with a single coin back in the day. It's quite essential to maintain(do not die) the red(speed) and blue(more dmg) potions in the higher levels. When they're blinking they're untouchable by the monsters and can't die(ex. when each level starts or whenever they get out of a moving snowball). In most levels the trick it's to jump to the higher platforms right at the beginning while they're blinking(untouchable) and throw snowballs into the monsters on the lower platforms but red potion is essential to do this. You can actually kill the sumo wrestler, but you need to form a snowball and jump into it to reach the higher platforms. Boss levels have sweet spots where you can stay still most of the time just shooting and kicking snowballs, when you learn where to stay it's quite easy.
Merry Christmas, James and Mike.
Since they dont read comments I will say thanks on their behalf.
Rob They do. They are always down in the comments talking to there fans. Just probably not today because it is Christmas.
Yeah... Merry Christmas James and Mike...
I'm not sure they going to read my comment, but hey while I'm here ''Merry Christmas!'' Mike and James. ^^
Ok, so the lives work like this: you start with 3. If you lose all 3, you wait for the little face at the top to start flashing. Hit the "A" button and you get 3 more. You can do this 4 times and then you are done. This was one of my favorite games.
There is a little chime sound when you hit the boss if you listen. There isn't any visual feedback though. Those different colored potions are power ups. One of them makes you move faster, the other makes your snowballs bigger making you snow monsters faster and the other makes you shoot farther. IIRC if you hit all the monsters with one big snowball, you need to go to the top or adjust it so that you kill all the monsters with one snowball roll, then there is a bonus or buff given to you.
Listen to Raven!
And it's not hard to figure it all... Sometimes I dont know its like they need instruction because they cant figure it all and they start complaining like they didnt figure it all that the number that's flash and they die with their last Life is the number of continue... well whatever, it's not like they are going to play that game again even though it's one of the best NES game!
IKR? They seriously need to play this game again sometime after they read some of the comments XD
I think they play stupid sometimes to drum up the comment section~ More comments, more Google money~ There's no way in hell both of them had just never heard of/played this game before this video~
YES, LISTEN TO THIS MAN
When it said 6 flashing where your life is, that's how many continues you have left.
It doesn’t matter what game you play on James & Mike Mondays; your interaction is always so heart-warming and amusing that it brightens any day!

It's always pleasant to listen to people who are relatable.
Part of the charm with Cinemassacre is that all gamers can relate extremely well to pretty much everything that James and Mike say and do.
Those Snow Bros' faces on the NES graphics reminded me of Jack Frost from Shin Megami Tensei.
I used to play this ALOT back in the day. Great game.
Beerdy - Bruce Lee Central arcade version was, as it always was, far superior
Me too just wish I had friends that wanted to play two player with me always seemed to go solo.
me too
OMFG MY CHILDHOOD I LOVE THIS GAME!
*a lot
Merry Christmas James and Mike. From my Family to yours! Thanks to both you guys for the many years of content of AVGN and James And Mike Monday’s. Have a blessed day today.
I was addicted to this game. It was in an arcade in a bowling alley on an American base in Germany, with vastly improved graphics. Go to the top and use an enemy snowball you made to roll through the others.
Merry Christmas Cinemassacre! Thank you for making this year a great one for me and many others!
Merry Christmas everyone :D
The editing makes the average game session so compelling. Love watching you guys!
How did they not know even the basics of Snow Bros??
Watching this again in January of 2021 James looked very red in the face. Someone was enjoying the rolling rock.
Merry christmas everyone and have a happy halloween!
MookeeTookee14 You Are about 10 months early
I love this game and I love you all. Merry Christmas!
Sluggish move is intended. You need red potion so you can move faster.
"Git good, brah!" - Mike Matei closing arguments for 2017
This was my favorite arcade during my childhood.
In Mexico this game was popular in the arcade
ivan andrade yo lo recuerdo
en argentina tmb es de los mas clasicos en los arcades
they do
You guys should have played the Genesis version of Snow Bros, which is an almost pixel-pefect port of the original arcade game. The NES version just can't compete.
Thanks for all laughs over the years, here's to many more. Merry Christmas or your personal holiday celebration and a happy new year guys 😆
Merry Christmas guys!! Love your work, and the friendship is awesome!!
Merry Christmas James & Mike and everyone else on UA-cam!!
mandude83 Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas guys’ never stop making vids, love em
It's good to see these guys, especially James, keep making content and respecting their fans. Happy Holidays cinemassacre. Don't ever change.
i seriously cant believe that they couldnt figure out how they do have continues. i mean, they seemed to be perplexed after the fact that they got 2 extra lives after losing life 0. Isn't that the definition of a continue? How is it that hard to understand? it's exactly like TMNT 4 or many many other games that they love
Anyways, snowbros is a great game on the arcades, play it on Mame with a friend, it's a lot of fun
You should try the Sega Genesis version , is WAY better then the nes version
P.S: the gens version is japan exclusive , and if is japan only , is really good!
I just found this, Merry Christmas. Thank you so much for reviewing this game, it was one of my favorites when I was a kid.
I forgot but now remember playing this game as a kid!!
One of my favourite games growing up. Lotta fond memories. Great video once again
Oh man, I used to love this game
man i see this and it just brings me back to my days at the arcade playing it
Great episode! Merry Christmas James and Mike!
Merry Christmas, Mike and James! Thank you for all the amazing creative energy you have shared with us in 2017. It was a dream come true to do art for the 3rd Blu Ray, and I hope to do another cover for you guys soon. All the best to you both for the holidays and 2018! Cheers
One of my favorite arcade cabinet games growing up. Super addicting
That jars are good thing. Upgrades your weapon, speed or range and that big head power up makes you invincible. There are secrets in the game like slot machine, depends on your luck gives you extra life, skip level or nothing. Game has 50 levels, 5 bosses. Especially after second boss it gets really difficult. You can jump over snowball for reaching higher parts, like this, there are little puzzles for how to reach enemies. It's a really good arcade port even better than Genesis port in my opinion. You have limited continues, should avoid wasting lifes on early levels for beating the game. Ideal strategy is climb top, hit enemies with snowball. Upgrades only drop if you hit enemy with snowball.
MERRY CHRISTMAS YOU GUYS @Cinemassacre! You been making my whole year with everything, thanks so very much all of you over there. Have a Happy New Year too! :D
Merry Christmas
Happy Holidays, James and Mike!
Omg Snow Brothers! I can't tell you how many hours and weekends I spent growing up playing this. One of my favorites of all time.
this was my favorite nes game as a kid. I used to play it with my father and the co-op is amazing
Merry Christmas, James and Mike!
Merry Christmas James and Mike
Happy holidays James and Mike!
Merry Christmas James and Mike.
Merry Christmas Mike and James!
Merry Christmas James and Mike!
I loved playing this in the arcades and on the NES.
MERRY CHRISTMAS JAMES AND MIKE!!!
Senpai? ;O;
Oh
I remember playing this a lot with a buddy and liking it.
Merry Christmas James & Mike!
I've been asking for this game for a long time. This is my best Christmas present. Thank you so much
My favorite thing about this game is that you meet same enemies over and over but they learn new tricks every few levels.
It was originally an arcade game. I used to play it in a place called Gold Strike on the way to Vegas they had a nickel arcade back in the day. Was really excited when I found out it came out for NES! Still have it
I looove when James says "you gotta get good BRAHS"
One of my childhood games :D
Last time I played this game I had to have been 9 years old. Totally forgot about its existence. This was one of those friend of a friend had the game sort of thing for me. Only found myself over at his house a handful of times. That same scenario was the problem with me and neogeo. Oh the memories! Merry Christmas.
I enjoyed this game alot, me and my older bro and dad used to play this game alot.
Merry Christmas guys thanks for sharing another great video!
I remember my siblings and I playing this..! Thanks for the video.
Absolutely loved this game as a kid. Rented it at the local video store all the time. The arcade version is amazing and so much fun. 4 different characters and they have different abilities.
One of my favorite RAREST NES Game, loved Bubble Bobble, MERRY CHRISTMAS James & Mike! Love the videos! :)
I played this game on the Gameboy all the time when I was a kid! It's interesting to see the game in colour
Klye The gameboy game is a lot of fun! The nes version is awesome as well.. nothing beats the arcade version, but the megadrive version definitely comes close!
Woah there's really that many versions!? I only just became aware of the NES one, seems I've got some googling to do.
I played this one in arcades back in 1992 and loved it!
Merry Christmas dads...
this was my jam when i was a kid!
Merry Christmas, Cinemassacre!
Near where i live, there is a bar with this game on the original arcade and i had fun time playing it.
Games like this and Bubble Bobble are so fun.
That's a classic
Tumblepop too!
I would pay good money to see SupaPixelGirl do adult style video game reviews/play throughs. She's niiiiiice.
Kyler why should she? what's your problem?
David Ying hell id pleasure myself to even her talking about video games
I have not played Bubble Bubble when i was a kid but i had this, this game is damn long but i remember me and my sis complteleted it. The bottles (we called them "Jam") acutally give you powers like bigger shot in the video, or faster running. Our favourite was the one that increase range of your projectiles.
One of my all-time fav NES games! Used to play this a lot with my brothers back in the day. We even beat it a few times - it IS a very long game. Totally worth playing through, though
I remember playing this on a friends game boy back in 1990, never heard much more about it, felt like a good spin on bubble bobble.
Funny you mention Sister, Sister at 2:20, they're going to bring that show back with the original cast. This is the time were old sitcoms are returning like Full House did. Roseanne is another one coming back.
Roseanne?! No way!
Married with Children needs to come back
kfmccaffrey Honestly, I hope it doesn't - it wouldn't work out the way it did back in the day. Ed O'Neill is 71 years old.
The real question is will they finally make a Roseanne video game?
That's so Raven...
Had this and Bubble Bobble as kids. Both are great games
Those single screen arcade games were solid fun.
merry Christmas James and mike
The original arcade game is made by Toaplan (same people who made Zero Wing), and I remember this game in some of my 4-in-1 bootleg famiclone multicarts. I reached world 3 in the game though. Merry Christmas James and Mike!!
Merry Christmas, Cinemassacre!!
I remember this from the arcades. Great game
Loved this game growing up
Pleasant surprise on Christmas XD
I had this game back in the day!
Lots of hours put in this game back in the 90's. I loved the arcade version, but then I bought the NES version. I remember I felt a little disappointed by the graphics in the NES version, but as soon as I started playing I forgot about that. It's a very playable version of the arcade classic. Later on, in the 2000's I went back to the arcade version but this time in the MAME (an arcade emulator for PC). Snow Bros is one of my all time favorites. Thanks for sharing.
I had no idea this game was on the NES. I used to love playing the arcade version with my bro, back in the day.
After the boss with the bombs, the creature kind of looked like the glitch gremlins. Lol
I LOVE this game and Soundtrack!
MERRY XMAS JAMES & MIKE!!!!! AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ANYONE READING THIS!!!!🎄⛄️🎄☃️🎄⛄️
One of my favorite games
I would be nice to see James and Mike feature every game for the NES library by the end of this series.
My fav game I used to play this a lot ;)
One of my favorite games of all time.
Merry Christmass guys 🎅
Almost bought this game back in the day.
Few tips: Try to kill all enemies with ONE ball - You can get some sweet items by doing that
You can save characters by smashing balls on them - you are undestructible while riding in the ball.
