    The one thing I'd change with this game is that I would make the terrain not kill you but instead just block you. Like normal terrain in any game. I'd make it clear which kind of terrain blocks you and which one doesn't.

    I really like the idea that they go back and play the games that the Nerd reviewed. It's like a different point of view from James and Mike.

    • @MisogiProductions
      @MisogiProductions 9 років тому +25

      Challaxe Luithiadir I know. James does incorporate truth into his reviews though. He has gotten more calm in his reviews and not as energetic. He has gone threw maturity. I remember when he redid Back to the Future and other older reviews, it really did make them better. When they played Friday the 13th, James was taking up for it until it got to a point were they couldn't stand it. Friday the 13th is mediocre at best, but it is playable. You can see where the developers where going with it. Same thing with Silver Surfer, a really hard, mediocre bullethell. I rather play Ikaruga or Gradius because they are better games, but that doesn't mean Silver Surfer shouldn't be picked on, there are other worse games that deserve it..

    • @Metafron
      @Metafron 9 років тому +10

      Challaxe Luithiadir You don't think their opinions could be the same outside of the AVGN universe?

    • @MisogiProductions
      @MisogiProductions 9 років тому +15

      Challaxe Luithiadir One distinguish difference is that AVGN is generally seventeen minute reviews of the flaws in a game. James and Mike Mondays are twenty to forty minute playthroughs of games. They may point out some flaws, but overall they play to beat a game and not review it.

    I beat this game back in the day, but not gonna lie...it pretty much took months and months of trail and error, memorizing every stage, performing every stage to absolute perfection and of course...lots of stress, cursing and almost taking a hammer to the game a few times. Still...when I beat it finally and saw the ending....it was like climbing K2, only to trip and fall into a frozen turd at the top.

    Now you gotta do LJN's other "decent" game, NES Wolverine. Minus the complete lack of hitstun and invulnerability after being hit, it was actually a pretty cool title with some weird secrets.
    Maybe sometime you guys should do Bushido Blade for the PS1, and try to get at least one of the secret endings-- the guidelines for the Code of Bushido can be pretty tough to follow, and Slash Mode can be a nice endurance challenge.

    • @iamxeracon

    Mike looked so serious and remained serious looking when he said, "You're good at handling your balls." LOL. Makes me wonder if he knew what he said.

    as much as i love the nerd, what always puzzles me, with the extensive knowledge and games owned and played over the years, he is really a bad gamer, i watch some of these n think, why wouldnt you just do that, i dont know if mike is just as bad or hes just too good a friends to actually say anything lol, frustrates me when i see a bad gamer.

      I agree.
      It's not that Bootsy is amazing at games...as he's not, he's average at best.
      It's more a fact that James and Mike are so crap at games, they make Bootsy look amazing.
      The whole Jekyll & Mr Hyde makes me laugh. It's not a good game I admit, but the fact when AVGN, James or Mike have played it. They do not play it right and make it look a lot worse and harder than it actually is.
      Again, Bootsy is not that good, he's just better than James and Mike.

      You guys forget that James is way more of a movie buff than a game buff. He played games as a kid, yes, but he got way more into movies in his teens. He said that in college, he pretty much didn't play games at all. It wasn't until he started with the AVGN that he played the old games again.

      Well "bad" is relative. I think they're about as good as the average gamer (which I guess.. is fairly bad). The Blaster Master let's play was especially hard for me to watch since I have basic competency in it - "Why are you guys allowing yourself to be hit in the tank? You have superior mobility and range in the tank; you should be crushing everything as though they were armless, defenseless goombas!"
      Watching them play a game made for gamers, like DoDonpachi Dai Ou Jou, Raiden, or Ketsui, that would be just brutal. Silver Surfer is hard? Knights+Medusa Heads in Castlevania is hard? Beat a Shoot'em up without using continues~

      Dialectical Materialism "Those are good players"
      No man, those are like prodigy players. If you want to call someone like that 'good', then anyone that can't destroy the game is bad.
