I agree that someone who was born biologically male and thus has an unfair physical advantage over biological women should not be allowed to compete in women's sports competitions.
But Lia Thomas has a right to her gender identity in her private life. If she wants to identify as female, then that should be accepted.
Those are two separate issues, and dead naming and using the wrong pronouns is disrespectful to her feelings. Just as it is disrespectful to the feelings of these women if Lia Thomas is allowed to compete with them. Should Lia Thomas have had the common sense to not compete, knowing she'd have an inherently unfair advantage over the other contestants? I'd say yes. But insulting her won't make the situation any better.

I remember one time, I heard a transwoman say, "trans rights are human rights!" and he kept saying that anyone who disagreed with him is transphobic. School authorities suggested "re-education" for offended women. That sounds like something common in North Korea. This woman wasn't allowed to speak via her school newspaper. The justification for censorship is probably another use of the doctrine of "hate speech."
Nowadays, trans rights don't just trump women's rights. They even trump gay rights. They had a pride parade somewhere a couple years ago. There was one lesbian on the organizing committee, and two trans people. Not even one gay man, and this was a pride parade.

She (Ms. Thomas) shouldn't be subjected to bigotry, but her rights shouldn't be elevated over the safety and security of biological females. Lea Thomas has every right to exist in the world as she sees fit, but the basic biological differences cannot be dismissed either. That's exactly the problem with transgenderism. It generates a lot of problems on so many levels: sports, legal aspects, social aspects, etc. In the case of Lia Thomas, you can only infer he changed sex to compete, as it isn't something that can be undoubtedly proved. And this applies on every other aspect. Like it or not, as much as many people hate it, there are only two sexes: male and female. You are assigned one at conception (not birth), and that's that. Abnormalities like hermaphrodism are that... abnormalities. They're not the norm. As much as you change certain aspects of your sex, you will never be able to change it 100%.

It's not about what Lia was thinking, or what any of her teammates were thinking. That cannot be controlled or monitored.
The problem is that there was a man undressing in the women's changing room, it made the women uncomfortable and they were not allowed to complain.
@@candyman9635 Maybe you had not notice but they were complaining. No one stopped them so stop exaggerating. Likely someone wanted this to be a problem. They could have easily situated Lia in another locker room but someone wanted a public commotion.
I'm sure Lia actually thinks she is a woman. My point was their are probably biological women in the locker room lusting after their teammates.
I remember when I managed a public gym. I have to admit I was a little bit annoyed with gay men staring me up and down when I'm naked.
Now get this in that same public gym we had some visitors from Scandinavia. Our sauna was coed to my surprise these beautiful blondes were buck naked in a sauna full of men. They weren't the least bit concerned because they had a different sensibility about nudity.
I tend to push back against this transgender phobia because usually these attacks are a means to an end. For example the right-wingers made a big deal out of abortion when many of them have participated themselves. It was not abortion they wanted to overturn but they knew if they got a Supreme Court that could end abortion then they could go after the real target which was AFFIRMATIVE ACTION. To attack affirmative action head on would have drawn a more severe response from the left.
Furthermore, the right-wingers will search the whole world to find one example and then parade it around like it's the normal everyday occurrence. Then the right wingers look the other way and embrace the Republican George Santos who is a transvestite and a habitual fraud. Hippocrates!

That is one of the problems. People are treating this as an actual controversial issue that needs to be addressed using logic and arguments. This is a matter of politics, not logic. Firstly, I said nothing about throwing anyone to jail, but being prosecuted and punished. Jail is one of the options, but not the only one.
Secondly, if you claim that I "always" want to throw opposition in jail, it would be nice if you provided an evidence to such a claim.
Thirdly, I'm not willing to punish my opposition just for being one. I'm willing to punish people who definitely deserve that for ruining women sport, destroying women careers, enforcing women to expose themselves in front of a male, which causes them significant emotional harm (especially when one of them was sexually abused before), censoring ones who have courage to speak out and all that in the name of single individual "wanting to be happy" (except that this - as we learned later - probably means just sexual arousal, which comes from the thought that he can be perceived by others as a woman).
I have literally no problem with prosecuting Donald Trump as long as one manages to present undeniable evidence and that Trump receives fair trial. The ruined careers, emotional distress and censorship - in the case of women - was already presented BTW.
