Funny story about Newark, NJ. I once got a parking ticket without ever being there. I only found out after a cop pulled me over a few months after the ticket was issued and I was given a summons for driving without a license. My license was suspended for failure to pay a ticket that I never received. Turns out, when the original ticket was being issues, the police officer's handwriting was so poor, one of the license plate character was entered into the system as a B and not an 8. That one type directed the system into thinking it was my car that was parked illegally. I had to go to court to prove otherwise and get my license reinstated. But that's not the best part, even though my license was mistakenly suspended, I still had to pay the fine for driving without a license, because at the time, I did not in fact have a active license. Ah, Newark, New Jersey, how I miss thee...well, actually I miss all of NJ since I was born and raised there. I was reared in the backwoods hillbilly county of Sussex, the northern most of all in NJ. (At 01:30, you can see on the map that there's a star in NW NJ and the name, 'Newton'. >That< is where I call home. Always have, always will, even though I haven't been back there since before those great Towers fell on that clear, warm fateful September day) I spent my first 15 years in NJ, loving nearly every minute of it. I'd visit Newark every couple years when flying out to visit family elsewhere in the country. Getting to the airport was something of an adventure, since even though it was only a 45-60 minute drive from home, it might as well have been another part of the world entirely for the difference in landscapes there was. My home in NW NJ was wooded, forests everywhere, rural, mountainous, with winding roads and guard-railed ravines hundreds of feet down just mere skips from the asphalt along with massive dairy farms, huge lakes and many photo-of-the-year contending small, cozy towns where everyone knows everyone. As you traveled to Newark (or indeed, the NYC metro area in general) the forests and mountains gave way to flatter city blocks and six-lane highways, the smell of industry and car exhaust, traffic snarled to a stop every day at the same time in the same place. You'd have to jump from one highway to another, to another, exit onto yet another and you best be ready with those quarters because the >TOLLS< required worship for blessings if not sacrifice. Not enough coin to satiate the traffic gods? Your sacrifice would do. Not of your soul...at least not yet. No, your offering was TIME. You had to trade time for convenience. And once you made it to Newark Airport, your trial was not yet complete. The gods had one last test for you... PARKING. Hope you were paying attention to the myriad of signs along the way! Otherwise...well, you'll find out soon enough... **evil laughter** I can't wait to go home someday soon. I've been gone for 26 long years but I can't still hear the forest winds calling my name...
As the fan who's subconscious communication that influenced you to play Prey and Quake 4, I have a request. I know the original Halo introduced the fps genre to the worst trends. But the original campaign is great, a solid story and fun gameplay with varied and smart enemy AI. I would love to see a Civvie Hate-through of Combat Evolved just to tell me why I'm wrong
Fun gameplay? Combat Evolved? Fun??? For console players of that time who wouldn't recognise a good first person shooter even if it shoot a super shotgun in their face (wish it did, so many potentially good games were ruined to appease this particular strain of human scum) - maybe. Otherwise it was a travesty. And don't even start me on the Library...
Being Filipino myself, the VAs did a surprisingly decent job of covering native accents. Tagalog had a very distinct impact on the way people approach vowels, emphasis, and syllables. Never gonna forget grandma calling persimmons "pahr-see-MOHN"
In their defense, they do have a knack for saying even Japanese words surprisingly well, what with their anime loving side (they also love Disney stuff at most, which is a downer considering the shutdown of the likes of Disney Channel recently; really long story on that). Believe me, I've seen more Filipinos nail some names and words from that language compared to some Americans.
@@michaelandreipalon359 That probably depends upon the part of the country. I'm in Washington state. You know, naval bases, Philippines, you get the connection. I think the only reason I can find most Filipino accents intelligible is because I grew up around it. Sometimes it feels like mad libs where you get most of the sentence but there are a few words used that are so far from how they're supposed to be said, it might as well be Tagalog.

I just realized the muzzle flash changes colors because you add the alien genetic code to it to upgrade it.
You almost had me with that Deus Ex in the intro. Great video as always.
Some really fantastic line deliveries in this game, really warms my heart.
That and seeing the line of aliens spawn in underground and then realizing you were carrying A THOUSAND ROUNDS for your machinegun was a DELIGHT
civvie’s denial kink for some of the constantly requested games is pretty fun imo since it can get annoying
I get that but I think it might just be that if he does do what gets requested hourly then he'll get ten fold the requests
Nah he's been doing it for years now, it's gotten old. He thinks the sewer count is bad, the 'blueballing' is way worse because he actually thinks it's funny
Where's Giants: Citizen Kabuto Civvie?
@@ExValeFornerd lol
The sewer count is great.@@ExValeFor
the end gag was amazing. thanks civvie, merry holiday season or whatever!
Civvie constantly pointing out “you gave me a heal others mechanic but then won’t let me use it” makes me want a game that did. Particularly the part around 19:35. I like the idea of having these siege set pieces in a shooter where, if you were able to hold onto healing items leading up to them, you can heal wounded soldiers and have more backup for the coming fight. Get better at the normal gameplay to make the hard parts much easier.
Civvie 11 : Are those poisonous?
H4MM3R : No. They're technically venomous.
Zoologists watching : *** Experiences happiness***
I love when Civvie does stuff to mess with the pedantic types who live to correct people.
A new Civvie video is all the Christmas gift I could possibly need
This is one of the best things to come out of the Philippines alongside The Nutshack.
And also piracy.
And that weird sweet spaghetti sauce.
Don't forget leche flan, lechon, halo-halo, sinigang, tapsilog, taho, spiced bangus... and that's just foods. They got some nice clothes too, plus a knack for animation (although the latter fact is woefully mostly exported for the likes of Disney and Warner Bros.; still waiting for the day the Philippines can miraculously rival South Korea and even Japan on that sector).
@@michaelandreipalon359 But local animation for local projects looks like trash usually. To the point The Nutshack is one of the better ones unironically.
Our actors are proud of our PS1 CGI and think it deserves to be on a movie cinema.
@@michaelandreipalon359 no, do forget them actually, it's all complete dogshit
Gotta love the elevator where you pull the button off the wall to call the car. 🤣
That last heist realisation immediately made me think of Ross Scott.
This is a damn fine Christmas present. Thank you Civvie
"What's the texture like ?"
Gave me a good chuckle... :)
The festive season's never fun without the annual Civvie Christmas special
in addition to sergeants cuervo, jaeger and morgan, there was a cut character by the name of lance corporal everclear who was just a bottle of everclear with arms and legs
Bro, I've been looking for this game for years. I am so thankful you made this video
Y'know what, you're a day late, but I will accept this video as a belated birthday present. Thanks, Civvie!
Merry Christmas Civvie, thanks for all of the laughs over the years and especially this year. I needed it. Also, I just found the bit you did with Huggbees and about died laughing. May your Christmas be merry and your loaves be nutritious.
As a full-blooded Filipino I am proud to know that our game development history is decorated with a realistically-modeled NYC, complete with milk sewers.
I must say, this was one of the best in a LONG while
such a christmas delicacy.
God please make civvie play Marathon! I love that game to death and is probably the only person under age 20 that knows that game exists despite being made by freaking Bungie. Marathon is anything but a doom clone, great story, deep lore and vertical mouse movement. Although the levels can be pretty hard and mind bending.
I did not see that coming! Wonderful Christmas Present Civvie!
**evil laughter**
I can't wait to go home someday soon. I've been gone for 26 long years but I can't still hear the forest winds calling my name...
Nothing quite like watching Civvie play some RAW slavjank games during Christmas.
What an awesome episode.. This is truly what Christmas is about.
As someone who played this a looong time ago and both hated and liked, I'm in for a nostalgia trip with this one :)
I see that Lopez was wearing the most appropriate of military wear against an alien invasion: a tank top, jeans, running shoes and an ammo belt.
Every time I feel like I have reached the limit of my ability to love Civvie he then says “Fuck the Yankees” and I love him all over again.
Merry Christmas Civvie!! Love ya work!
> plays When Johnny Comes Marching Home/Johnny We Hardly Knew Ye when the gold vault happens
This is a certified Simon Gruber classic.
Merry civviemas. Hoping for more sewers in 2024 and hopefully christmas sewers!

Merry Christmas to you and yours Civvie 11. Thank you for another fun video. 😊🎄
Feliz natal do Brasil, Civvie! ❤
The Beetlejuice drone strike did me in. Thank you for saving Christmas. ❤️
Being Filipino myself, the VAs did a surprisingly decent job of covering native accents. Tagalog had a very distinct impact on the way people approach vowels, emphasis, and syllables. Never gonna forget grandma calling persimmons "pahr-see-MOHN"
Funny how they're both familiar news casters
I can agree.
17:07 -- this monologue that delivers what's already on everyone's mind is nothing short of immaculate.
AVGN+Civvie videos in one day
Yeah, I can believe in Christmas now
Merry Christmas Civvie , thank you for all the rad videos and the work your team puts in.
A left handed salute? In civilian clothes? And I'm pretty sure the tips of her fingers are touching her cheekbone rather than her brow. Either she's an alien infiltrator or the most genuine depiction of the National Guard.
Or a civilian pulling one of the most gigabrain heists of all time.
Merry Christmas Civvie. Thanks for all youve done this year!
"I'm here to shit all over New York"
Couldn't agree more civvie 😂
If there is one thing I have learned in my job, it's that most New Yorkers are really belligerent and weird, lol.
Oh, also, Merry Christmas, Civvie and Katie. Thanks for another year of great content.
Happy Christmas Civvie!🎅
That credits scene with the bullet holes in the shot out windows broke me... This is peak game design... The pinnacle of gaming one might say. Awesome episode of a gem I didn't know. Happy uhm sorry to see you suffer Civvie. Great episode though!
Merry Christmas Civvie!
New Civvie 11 Video, 22 Seconds ago, I click. Simple as.

Civvie is the only guy on here who deserves to get paid for what he does. His videos are my idea of perfect and watching them legitimately improves my life. Brought to you by CommentCorpTM
Merry Christmas Civvie and all the Dungeoneers. 🌲
With all the UA-cam drama going on, when do we enter the era of Civvie hiring ScreenWave to manage the channel and hearing about how he’s too busy for videos because of his kids?
Merry Christmas From Greece Civvie11! May you find those scorpions palatable.
CHRISTMAS = SEWER LEVEL.
Imagine him starting a Christmas reference count.
Also, Civvie, you're SO close to Command & Conquer: Renegade. Looking forward to it.
Imagine if, in BioShock Infinite, every time Elizabeth threw you ammo or health she went, "Booker, over here!" over and over and over again
I can’t help but notice that the alien death animation is very similar to to the halo 1 elite getting stuck by a plasma grenade lol
At this point I'm convinced that MandaloreGaming and Civvie coordinate their releases together
