This video sums up my country pretty well. I just want to say 1 thing. For people who make 3000$/month, yes it is cheap to live in hungary, but if you want to work here then the avarage wage is about 800-1000$/month. So for us Hungarians it's not that cheap.
I agree that situation isn't perfect but at least its 40% better than in Serbia/Belgrade. Salaries in Budapest are 50% higher than in Belgrade...but costs of living are the same in both cities. Now apartments in Belgrade are more expensive than in Budapest.
Fidesz government seen as an advantage???????
@@ww1www Definitely it's a great advantage!
@@Marcell_Gallo Since when hatred towards foreigners is an advantage when considering moving to Hungary? :D Come on.
So if i make my money online i’ll do fine over there !?
My wife is from Hungary. She is stronger than steel. I have been there many times. If you are family, like me, you will be welcomed to a level that will make you cry. The Hungarians to me are wonderful people.
Not all.....🧐
I’m a Catholic nurse from Melbourne Australia, strong in my faith, who is thinking about moving to Hungary because I want to raise my children in an environment where they will flourish and live in a country with strong Christian ideals.
Christian ideals are extinguished in nationalistic speeches from right wing politicians and showing nice buildings/churches/ to unassuming foreigners...other than that we are traditionalist/close minded/,insecure/being on the wrong side of history for about 500 years/,suffering from the effect of being colonized by Austria,Russia,...people are nice, try to catch up to the standard of European living....so you can do a lot if your source of income is not based on working in Hungary...that's about it.
@@lszujo73 raditionalist/close minded/,insecure/being on the wrong side of history for about 500 years
Banning gay marriage and closing borders to migrants that can't co-mingle with the culture sounds fucking amazing, and you have no idea how good it is, this is coming from an American. I hope the financial situation works itself out soon, and based Hungarians can get fair wages, but fuck that wokeness, you have no idea, NO IDEA how good you have it without that mind virus invading your country's borders.
Nice, you'll get around 600 usd for salary as a nurse in Hungary. Oh, and being religious in hungary basically mean to hate minorities, so good luck.
@@Kukasauto What does religion have to do with hating minorities again? Obviously you’ve had a bad experience with religion, but you are only against what you think religion is about.
Money is less important than morals. I think most people who are serious about their faith ,or even just being a person of integrity, would agree with that statement. If I can feed my family, clothe them, educate them- basically provide them with a fairly decent standard of living- that will be enough for me.
@@RetroRanger88 I've been living in the US for 21 years...so I know both sides...I know exactly what I'm talking about
Biggest reason for moving to Hungay.... no woke bs.
HAHAHAHHA
Hungary mostly borders on Hungary
Fully*
Roman Empire is the same
Hungary is super cheap (if you are not hungarian).
I am hungary and its not cheap
Calling Hungary cheap is so under statement.
Literally the Markets price like Lidl between Berlin and Budapest differences is only 3 - 5%
mid range Restaurant here in Budapest for 2 it would cost around €40 - €50 which is pretty much the same in Berlin.
Only upside is the rental cost and cheap street food that Budapest can offers.
@@upcom1ng116 too bad the people living there are poor af
@@Ftbeditz21 of course it is not because you are Hungarian 🤣
Bingo 👍
I would love to live in Hungary.
Don't wait, you will like it..
I'd rethink that decision
@@aloha2104 You know the future ? 😄
It is a nice summary about Hungary. As Hungarian who lives in Hungary I would like to show some mistakes:
Yes base tax for companies is 10%, but VAT is 27% and half of your salary cost will be tax.
If you are live in Budapest you do not have to learn Hungarian, I had multiple coworker who can not speak Hungarian. But If you want to move to other city you must know the local language.
I do not know a single expat who can speak decent Hungarian... our language is so fu..in' hard to learn
As a Hungarian living in Hungary, I advise you to move somewhere else if you don't like your country and stop talking nonsense!
@@annakisfaludinebaan are you sure you wanted to reply to my comment? Why do you think I do not like Hungary? I just corrected some misunderstandings. I wrote tax keys which are facts.
@@arpadnyilas1980 No, your "tax facts" are incorrect. No-one in Hungary pays as much as half of the salary in tax and the VAT is in four levels: 0, 5, 12 and 27 percent.
@@erikalmqvist , you have right, because of high taxes everyone cheats on this, so most of the people do not pay the real rate.
Let's calculate: if your salary cost is 565 000 HUF, you will get 332 000 to your hand, but you will buy things which contains 27% VAT, so value of things which you bought is 242 000 HUF, it is 41% of what employer spent to your salary. Yes 0,5,12 % VAT rate exist, for milk, bread and some meat.
Anyone on here saying that Hungary is not a good place because it lacks diversity well look at the US and its diversity and how the country is now becoming a third world shit hole. Diversity is not a strength, it's a disaster. As an American I would love to move to Hungary because I like their values and morals for which the US has none especially the lefties. I also like the fact that White Christians are welcome there, but not in the US. One more year till retirement and then I say Good Riddance former USA. Joe Biden is not my president.
Oh boy, you’re in for a rude awakening during rapture...
In the eyes of God, anyone who does right, regardless of the pigmentation of their skin, is acceptable.
I say this to you out of love for a christian brother, to help you get on the right path- “The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.” Leviticus 19:34
“Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt.” Exodus 23:9
“‘Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow.’ Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’” Deuteronomy 27:19
And finally, before you go around calling yourself christian with that mindset of yours, Matthew 7:21-23.
@@chairmanofrussia What he is saying is not about race but culture. In the US we have no interest in the American ways and want to change things to where they came from. Also why is race and skin color everyone wants to jump on. Also if you read the Bible Israel was warned against allowing other countries to come and bring there pagan beliefs
Love what you have to say Squirrel Mender. You are 100% correct. The same here in the UK. It’s a nightmare.
I would love ❤️ to live in Hungry.
Upside: not being a minority in your own European city.
Name a city where europeans are minorities in their own cities? And how do you even define a minority in europe. Europeans have much longer family histories that often include people from all over europe and even beyond.

@@Swede.from.Boston Only a third of the population in Malmo is foreign-born. Gtfoutta here. And tensta? Really? A tiny ass ethnic enclave/suburb in Stockholm? That’s like saying New York is mostly chinese because Chinatown exists. You right-wingers always have to fucking lie lmao. Completely full of shit. You’re so desperate to be a victim that you have to point to tiny suburbs and cities with one-third minority populations to cry about. And then you wonder why people think you’re racist when you panic at the first sight of a black person you immediately think they’re “taking over” holy shit.
@DJ_Trolly There are literally studies that show that without immigration, Brussel’s population would have declined in a similar way to _Detroit._

Hungary has 9% corporate tax. The lowest in Europe. This is a major miss in this video because for that reason tons of companies like banks, tech and others are moving into Hungary. The income tax is flat 15%. Extremely low taxes.
Other than the VAT, which is 27%. But I think this is a good policy. Only the money you spend gets taxed, the money you save or invest doesn't (or not nearly as much).
Tax on your icnome is about 40%. Plus 27% VAT on almost everything. The poor are made even poorer intentionally. Imagine how good it is to live in Hungary.
Taxes are not extremely low they are EU average (for employees). Income tax is just part of the deductions, if you gross $3000 your takehome will be $2000 and yes its the same rate on any level, not great not terrible
If you are able to buy an apartment that is not in a dilapidated building in Budapest for USD 50,000, you are a magician or something. In most parts of the city, prices range between USD 2000-3000 per sqm. So a 50 sqm 1 bedroom apartment would probably cost you around 100 - 150 thousand USD. And if you want to buy a newly built apartment, you should have about 1 million HUF/sqm, so about USD 3500.
Edit: Sub 100K apartments (but really nothing under 80K really) would mostly be commie blocks on the outskirts of the city. There are nicer areas there too, but probably not a dream home for most.
@Dániel Tordai I was wondering if you could help me. I am trying to find my nephew/niece born in Hungry in 1979-1980. How can I find birth records? Where do I begin my search? I would very much appreciate your advice.
Well said. Budapest is way more expensive than most US cities by the way, especially the real estate!! And you ear so much less in Hungary!

Move back? To Mongolia? YES!
I'll go to mongolia when you go back to India
@@erichfuchs552 Back to Rome you mean? My ancestors ruled "Hungary" before your Mongolians came...
Also, Hungarians are educated, polite, friendly, socially very well equipped and occasionally brutally honest (obviously YMMV). Too bad that the Hungarian self-image seems to be either absurdly nationalistic or completely self-loathing. Don't know why, they are lovely people.
Thanks for that, yes! We are very patriotic, despite I left in 1956 at the age of 7, have visited back a few times, if you’re born Hungarian, your heart will remain a part of that wonderful place ❤️
Most people talk badly about their country or fellow nationals, to be honest. I'm a transilvanian hungarian, and I'll move to Budapest at the end of this summer, cuz I've been there, and I saw how nice the people are there, and how nice the environment is + something that the video didn't state, is that there are a LOT of foreigners there, and I like it, the city is very multicultural.
'Educated' yeah, no.
Honesty is not fashionable anymore.

@@istvangranicz5082 I do not think they are, based on the assumption they felt the need to say they married a hungarian. If they were hungarian as well, they wouldn't have specified, right?
You cant get anything in Budapest for $50K, it will be at least $100K for a tiny apartment. Still a good deal.
You have forgotten to mention how low are salaries in Hungary. For us Hungarian cititens are all costs very high. This doen’t applies to foreigners, as our forint is very weak at the moment.
Yours is low because you are not in the right place or you are unskilled.
In July 21-23 Celsius? rather 35-40😀
This video has inspired me to do more research on moving there from the US. As someone who is more conservative, many of its policies are attractive. Obviously, future elections can change this.
some years ago some Canadian guys I knew spent longer time (6-8 weeks) in Budapest... they went literally crazy. they loved so much being here
Retired people who wants to move to Hungary should take their doctors and nurses with. Because the hungarian doctors and nurses are moving to other EU-countries to have an adequate sallary for an adequate living standard.
I would recommend move to Hungary's countryside especially for retired people and I tell you why.
1. Hungarian culture respects elderly people, and hungarian people will genuinely help older people when they need it. I'm not just saying, seeing it, practicing it.
2. There is free healtcare, and if some special treatment is needed yeah there are limits but if you don't want to wait private segment of healtcare is still something you can afford and is available within 30-40 minutes ride by car even in my local area which is literally the end of world from Budapest.
3. Hungarian social system provides social workers who help retired people in many ways, like do the shopping, buy medicines, clean up their houses, spend time with elderly and this service is available locally even in small villages. Also, for those who can't cook for themselves, there are "common kitchens" (can't find better word for that) what serve hot meals and deliver it to door and it costs like 2-3 EUR per day.
4. Hungary is safe. Those who commit crimes against old people or children know it very well, that in the prison they will have special attention and treatment by their inmates. The guards will make sure, that inmates know what was the crime of these when they arrive in.
5. Many retired people move to Hungary from the West, and they say "thank you, we're good here".
6. Also, 1500 EUR pension here means higher existency level, then in the west.
@@danielbakk There is free healtcare - the only problem is that it is not adequate. A lot of doctors, nurses are missing, the whole system is not well organized. The "Goverment" does not invest enough money (very low level of the GDP compared to other EU Countries) in the healthcare system
I could move to Hungary if I only could bring my swedish salary, and was able to convince my wife it was a good idea.
@M.L who are we, and who are you?
Please move to Borsod megye, beautiful place
Oh yes i am hungarian
Only pls not to Ózd, Miskolc or Kazincbarcika. These are dangerous places :D

@@sloweny2086 Lived at Ózd for 22 years, never really had safety issues... just last weekend I even went into one of the biggest slums there to photograph some old historical buildings, without issues. Yeah, it's not a life insurance to go there, but not that bad either.

The video says that dentist is not included in the free public health care system, and this is not true! It is included but not all treatments. Each district has its own free dentist office and you can ask for appointment, and they will fix holes, remove tartares or pull out too bad teeth. They also make the X-ray scans for free. They will not provide you new golden teeth, but there some types that they doo. They will tell you the options, but if you go to these free dentist offices regularly you can keep your teeth healthy for decades. This is how I do, and at 48 years of age I have all my teeth healthy without spending on dentists :-)
Good video!
A video of budapest? Yes, please!
This average temperatures are deceptive. In July, August 35 - 40 Celsius degrees aren't uncommon. If you live in Hungary, during summers the air conditioner is very useful. It's a landlocked country, when comes a heatwave, could be really hot.
30 - 40 years ago there was snow in winter, nowadays not really, there are years, when it's not snowing at all.
Why are u always showing Budapest? Hungary is not just Budapest...

ok as a hungarian...
1 "low cost of living" -yea thats true compared to other countries but the avarage salary for us is not that many..i work in a small city and i only make like 700$ a month and thats not enough for a apartment,u need another person who can help you paying the rent. Its really hard to put any money away.
2 "location in europe" sure i dont really care,i live next to slovakia, and a bit far from ukraine and the peoples dont really like each other..we dont like them, they dont like uss(if u start speaking hungarian outside the border peoples will start looking at you and thats the same inside) If i had to choose a country next to us that we actually like it woud be austria, some of my friends even went there for work there.
3 "Politics" well yeah i hate that, and thats a really big problem here.If youre Homosexual or have a darker skin color youre not wellcome here, even the president said that (we got some anti gay laws, builded fences against imigrants stbstbstb)
4 "Culture" Aprooved,i dont have anything to say here :D
5 "Healthcare" Its sucks, really! There is not enough Doctor or Nurses because they not get payed enough so they moving to austria or germany. The walls are literally collapsing.we only got old or stupid(sorry)doctors.
Example: my mom is just recently broked her arm, they took care of her she got "gypsum"(or whatever that called) and she sanded back to home de doctor were telling her how big his D is while taking care of my mom ,when i first heard that i was like wtf?? after a few weeks later, she started complaining about of the gypsum,it was too tight its hurts, she called the doctor and its only said "its must be the weather! dont go outside, its hot and during hot days the gypsum will "expand" dont be stupid (shes not used to go outside during sumer). after 2 more week the gypsum was removed with a fkin saw,her skin even got damaged all the way where ther doc was cutting! and the storry wasnt ended here, remember when she started complaining abut the gypsum? she was right and the gypsum was too tight. Now her hand got a darker color cause of "low blood circulation" and now her arms might gonna cut off! i cant believe how Healthcare is sucks here!
If your not living near the big cities like Budapest life is not easy
ahh i had enough...and im the stupid one now because i still not mooved out (im22)
3. But that's a good thing, multicultural countries are becoming hellholes for the natives and being gay friendly leads to LBGTQ propaganda introduced to children at an early age, then comes the drag queen story hours and all kinds of normalising pedophilic grooming behaviour and transgender clinics that castrate children for life. Btw nobody bats an eye unless you are a flaming homosexual and behave outrageously in public, but yeah, I'm so sorry you can't marry your boyfriend, you are so very discrimated indeed.
I was considering migrating to Hungary till i heard conservative borderline nationalistic stuff thats up there im a stem field specialist but a muslim that wishes to thrive and build a community in a first world country , off the window went the idea
Why you cannot just do your thing and let others do theirs ?

Hello. I have a great desire to settle in Hungary. I am a trained male child and youth worker and am 34 years old. is it difficult for me to get a job if I chose to settle there? I can also take on other jobs of my own accord. I am also interested in deer hunting and have hunted this in Norway for many years. are there opportunities to hunt down there? with kind regards :)
It was not the case 13 years ago, but today there are many job opportunities in Hungary, we use to say " only those don't have job, who doesn't want to work". There are cities where unemployment rate is converging to 0 or turn below 0. More and more large company investing in, so I'm sure you will find your place on the jobmarket.
Our forests are full with deers and stags, and thanks to our rangers and experts there is always more than the forests can sustain, so you can go hunt but only through legal way. You have to learn about our local wild animals, when you can and when you can't shoot it, you have to know the rules and laws and once you passed exam, you can have your license for weapon, then you can join one of the local hunter societies, and there you go. Illegal hunting is chased and sanctioned strictly by lawenforcment forces.
Jobs are plenty, the problem the pay vs cost of living... Language barrier is another obstacle, if your job requires speaking Hungarian, it's not an easy language to pick up for foreigners.
Hunting here? :D
Hungary has one of the best deer herds in Central Europe. :)
I'm already afraid to go to the countryside by car, because they always jump in front of us, and in return they are very tasty :D
Buda-pesht
HUNGARY VS MALI.
Omg, WAGES, SALARY, pension/retirement income is ofcourse much LOWER too! Tsss. Not THE reason to move to Hungary, cheaper to live, unless you have enough money saved, to live there like a 'king' (€4000 p/m) for the rest of your live and only do a (part-time job you like, to be 'busy' and a part of society. Or do a job without getting payed, to help ppl or animals in need. That's what I would do.
I would move immediately, but I have to safe a bit more money and wait for my retirement. A few years to go.
Then, discussion will start again here with our (grand) children. Retirement in Hungary? Yes please, I hate losing our culture here. Too many foreign ppl here, over 600 different ethnic cultures here in a very small, now overpopulated country! Our young ppl have to wait for a house for 9ver 10 years to start a family or life for themselves! All (economic) refugees get houses, money etc and our own ppl have to go to the food bank while having two incomes!! Not okay! Every week, ppl get shot, stabbed, murdered while this wasn't happening my entire life here! Too many different cultures in a Too small country is asking for troubles!
But, EU loves troubles, they want more and more 'strangers' in EU member states. Syrians weren't the last, now Ukrainians are coming too, lots of them!
I feel sorry for the war refugees, but full is full!!
Many safe countries in the area, why going to the far West??
That's why I love Hungary, great policy for 'strangers'. Do it the LEGAL way, then most ppl are welcome.
EU is angry at Hungary for that. I wish we had that PM here. OUR COUNTRY, not EU's country!!
We are the ATM for EU, sick of that!
.
I am earning 1300 euros and I live well in Budapest. True, I have my own apartment.
Yeah, geomaxing is obviously the way to go, if your job allows it to work remote, you can live like a king with a Western salary in Hungary.
I am sorry but it is not right to say the country is cheap. It might be cheap for the Americans or Western Europeans but Hungarians.
I get epilepsy watching this video.

If it were indeed that good to live in Hungary, 10% of its population wouldn't have fled into Western Europe since the country joined the EU. Also, 95% of Ukrainian refugees entering Hungary wouldn't move on to a safer and more humane place to duck the war out.
Many of them come back home. I also did after spending 10 years abroad.
@@jabuci Yes, some of them return to Hungary. The ones who couldn't fit in. The majority grow roots and don't look back.
Too hectic. I had to stop watching it
You do not get any apartment in Budapest for $50.000-$60.000 especially not in the centre. In the centre the minimum is about $150-$200.000. The government (FIDESZ) does not upgrade the economy or the infrastructure, only using EU moneys for themselfes. Not your fault, only those can see these things who's living here.
Jaj ember... látom egyáltalán nem érted a világ működését. A kormány nem fejleszti a gazdaságot és az infrastruktúrát? Hol élsz te, barlangban?
Ez hülyeség a leggyorsabban fejlődő Európai gazdaság
Strange oppinion. Obviosly not true statement about the government, but everybody has the right to have any kind of oppinion. Even stupid. The truth is that enterprices receive many support, just like families. This rised the price of apartments and induced many constructions, which in return supports the economy. There are many programs and supports for enterprices even we received it without having any connection to Fidesz. The conditions to receive supports are clear and if an enterprice meets them they get the financial support to grow and reach their goals. I think it is a cool thing :-) The other statement here is about "infrastructure"....well I think the roads are beeing built countinously, schools and hospitals got renewed, kids receive free books and meals at schools...how does not see this someone who claims to live here?
This statement is not true, i live in Budapest.
Kari Gerire gondolsz? Ő a főpolgi már lassan 3 éve... nem facebook postokat kellene kitennie meg kampánybiciklin bohóczkodnia hanem végezni a dolgát és mindjárt fejlődne a város
...and 20 downsides....
@Ape Hjerne probably Romania or Slovakia
Bro, how is 'conservative politics' an upside? Many people don't like the Hungarian politics at all so it is pretty weird to state it as a general upside. For some sure, but def not for everyone.
Yes that's right. I'll upload a new vid about Hungary soon, where I correct this
Oh no, Hungary can't have troons invading women's sports, and people getting beheaded in the streets from religious extremists? How awful! We gotta import more refugees and wokeness, ASAP! Quick, someone start a séance and contact the ghost of Winston Churchill, we got literally Hitler in Budapest!
Know what Hungary ACTUALLY needs? Better wages for their citizens, and a rework of the health care system. Not the infectious, fatal, country-killing pox of leftist idpol brainlets thinking that they suddenly know what's best.
It's a good thing.. if you don't know now I pray you will one day.
Daniel, if a person is not Conservative then maybe they should move to the US where anything goes. Hungary follows Conservative principals and morals and Liberals are a cancer on society just as they're in the former USA.
@@RetroRanger88 lmfao, people getting beheaded in the streets from religious extremists. You should be a cartoonist, because that is some grade-A cartoony bullshit. You act as, elsewhere, presumably more left leaning they places, they bring everyone to the town square for public executions. Ludicrous. No wonder Hungary is so behind on metrics compared to its western neighbors...their (and your) policies are based on pulling nonsense out of their ass.
I would rather die
Hungary should be kicked out of the EU and NATO so Orban can hang out with his soul mate Vladimir Putin.
The EU doesn't give up members voluntarily, you should have learnt this with all the drama about Brexit and how butthurt the EU got, now they are working silently to override it and bring back Britain into the EU unoffically through a backdoor...
If you go out in the sun, don't drink hard alcohol, just water, and then you won't talk such nonsense.
Your Orbán phobia can be treated in a gay bar, if you feel like it :D
You wisdom tooth should be kicked out !!
With an old fashioned Chuck Norris kick.
Hungary is not only Budapest...
I don't recommend moving there if you're a pet owner. I have Hungarian neighbors and so far, they've eaten eight of my cats and three of my dogs. What's wrong with those Mongolians anyway??? 🦮🐕🦺😺😽🐱
Ma cac pe sicriul matii :) Simple as that.
@@KonradTamas Te-ai suparat, tigani din Asia? De ce ai venit in Europa? Tiganii tai au fugit din Mongolia... 🤣🤣🤣
@@KonradTamas Where'd you learn Romanian? Most the Sezkly monkeys in Romania have been living there for 1000 years and still can't speak it...
