Bet that torque wrench ain’t calibrated anymore lol
It gave me shivers.
Came to the comments for this😂
Me too. Had to rewind
First thing I thought. Had to check and see if I was the only one.
also he removed all lug nuts before jacking up the car. wheels might fall off and crush your car.
Reusing old cotter pins? The aircraft maintainer in me is triggered
Was thinking the same thing! Never reuse a 10 cent piece of safety hardware!
Same here my eye twitch a bit lol
Same here. Even if it does suck to get a new one in sometimes
Saaaame. I work in aviation myself and seeing him put that cotter pin back in hurt my soul a bit...
Tell me he did not use a torque wrench to break loose those lug nuts ?! 🤯 🤦♂️
I seconded that 🤦🏽♂️
unbelievable, these guys constantly amaze me
@@M_L_N_W stop watching them
If you set the torque high enough that it does not click, then I don't see a problem. But I think I heard his click, and he kept pulling.
I honestly don’t see what’s so wrong with that. I used a torque wrench to take the lug nuts off the spare tire on the back of my Jeep, (just cause I had to reach the brake light to replace it). I mean, it easily worked.
Everyone is hung up on the improper use of the torque wrench. Got it, not the right move but he filmed it really well and broke it down really well. Thanks. My two cents please use some anti seize to keep things smooth for future. 🙏🏻
Also please watch your brake lines. Don't yank them out inadvertently.
I do everything in my driveway. My neighbors love it.
Awesome! Does a great job showing that it's not to intimidating of a process. I also think you should of just mentioned and throw it out there that the first thing you need to do once your installment done, is go and get an alignment.
Did he just use a torque wrench to get his lug nuts off??? Jesus dude
Also used a carpenter hammer.. what ever gets the job done . 👍🏼
Yup not only once but twice... actually probably used it on all the lug nuts
He went from bilstein to a full coil over set. My decision is set. Kings here I come
Dope, I'm looking at these OME myself. 👍🏽
Nice job; thanks for the install vid!
Got to say he makes it look easy, not having an annoying sway bar on the way also makes this install a thousand times better 😅, I personally recommend 2 people at least when you have your truck on stands, just in case things go south. Great video🤙🏽 the Mechanic in me just died a little after seeing the torque wrench used as a breaker bar😂
I also slide my tires under the frame when I have the truck jacked up. Jack and jack stands fail then the truck frame falls on the tires and wheels. Will that damage the wheel? Of course but wheels and tires can be replaced whereas you cannot be replaced.... my $0.02...
Immediately went out and got ratcheting wrenches and breaker bar the next day.
The Video I Needed Thank you!!👍🏻
Those beats in the video are awesome 👏
Tacoma beast on the track lol 😆
What’s up Dustin. Awesome install vid. Keep them coming.
Thanks man!
You Guy Best the Best TacomaBeast I Love You . High Fivr From Poland
I am waiting for a lot of videos about travel 🖤
Sic TACO Learned alot Thx brada. HBTOYOTA
Bro I been bench watching most of your videos and I'm about ready trade my duramax for a taco 😬
Love the pony Express trail videos it was educational and fun watch it had like national geographic feel.👍
I can’t wait to put this suspension on my prerunner build! It’s just enough that I can blast through dirt trails and daily it 🤤
Hell yeah 🔥
Thanks for the video, it was very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Good vid. Didn't do everything "technically" right, but I sure as shit know I probably wouldn't. Helpful for sure. 👍
I don't trust someone who loosens lug nuts with a torque wrench to show me how to work on vehicles
I dnt have taco but still liked the way u were telling me things.
Damn.. I wish I had friends like this.. That would chill out or help out and work on mine or his truck... But running solo is fine also
Working on trucks is so easy! There's such much room for activities!
Can't wait for my taco to get here. Subie bro here
Hell yeah bro! Also can’t wait to see what you do with your taco! 🔥🔥
Right now the plan is to throw stuff in the back and drive around. We'll see where it goes from there. But it's a manual so it'll be fun no matter what I do.
The subaru had lots of slidey fun in the desert trying to keep up with the trucks. Now in coastal NC though... I think the sti is going to be a garage queen for a while. The roads (dirt included) just don't support the fun driving I was accustomed to in Cali.
Thanks for the good content and an intro into the taco community.
Just wanted to reach out and tell you that you did a great job on this video... attention to detail on the install... nice job! Looking forward to what's next! I also follow you on instagram.... fellow UA-camr from the Pacific Northwest... (Washington State) Stay safe out there brother! Daniel
Everyone talking about that torque wrench but no one mentioned the tension on that brake line when he dropped the LCA or that he's got a hell of a lot of faith in one that jack stand
Ya know you installed the lower shock mount bolt on the drivers side backwards right?
Very cool, bro :)
M18 half inch. Super worth it bro lol
A tire alignment is highly recommended after this. Even if you are just adjusting your coilovers it can throw it off
Thanks for posting, curious on your thoughts with the upgraded kit over time. Are they holding up and is the ride quality improved enough to have made it worth it?
The kit has held up really well, honestly super worth it so far 🤙
I like this video. 🤗
Thanks!
The first time the ratchet slips and you punch yourself in the face, youll never pull up on the ratchet again while removing lugnuts.
Yup. Thought the exact same thing
when the tire lug nuts wouldn't loosen did u get a longer torque wrench
How’s the ride on it? Is bumpy?
If you have ever done a driveway project you know you use whatever the hell you got.
Lol that’s right!
I respect the size of your courage but no man. If you're not gunna do it right don't do it at all. Especially if you're going to do something as bold as to teach people. Peoples safety is risk.
I have the same Bilstein 6112/5160 setup and looking to upgrade. Just wondering why you chose the OME BP-51 instead of a King or Fox adjustable 2.5 setup?
I went with the BP 51 because the adjustability of the compression and rebound settings. It’s a great setup and I’m really happy with it so far.
Just want Tacome
What brand it's your spindles they look 💪🏼 new spindle push your wheels out thanks bro
Those are the maxtrac spindles, you can find them on our website here: tacomabeast.com/products/front-lift-spindles-w-extended-brake-lines-4-lift-height-2005-2020-toyota-tacoma-2wd-6-lug?_pos=1&_sid=6a46b034c&_ss=r
Love from india guys ❤️
Stfu
Protect your back. When taking off lug nuts, push down instead of pulling up like this lad.
Can wr trust someone who use torque wrench as breaker bar?
I just know there’s a couple local braddahz watching this video LMAO
😂
In SoCal. How much for an install?
NOICE.!!!.
What would be involved to properly install 37-inch tires in a2021 Tacoma 4 X 4 ?
Look at their jeep killer video. The fab tech guy makes a monster yota on 37's. You don't just need to do a body chop you need to do all the cutting! 🤣
Unless you're going for a huge drop bracket lift with no travel, you'll need a firewall tub, cab mount relocation, to smash the pinch weld down, remove your fender liner, probably relocate your battery and fuses to clear, trim the fenders, and regear both diffs to keep some semblance of mpg and normal rpms. It's no easy feat.
for the people just learning to wrench. dont use a torque wrench to loosen anything ever. use a breaker bar or a ratchet or a impact gun.
Was gonna say why not just hit it with the impact
Do you have to cut anything for a 3' lift kit? On a stock tacoma
Nope! You should be good
Why would you try to destroy your torque wrench by removing lug nuts?
cool
Did I miss something or is the rear shock the lift in the rear?
Nice truck dude
Thanks man! I already had the OME Dakar leafs in the rear
Ive always been under the impression that using a torque wrench for removing fasteners was bad. am I wrong?
Yes , Ive seen people mistake breaker bars for torque wrenches a lot.
I don't think I'd rely on that torque wrench for accurate measurements anymore after breaking loose lug nuts - stubborn ones at that.
I made that mistake once. Actually broke the torque wrench
@@austinfouts9139 wonder if we’re related haha
You're not wrong. I use a breaker bar. For smaller nuts i use a milwaukee drill or ratchet with a rubber mallet. The $7 Harbor Freight breaker bars haven't broken on me yet. Don't have a ton of confidence in them but it's $7 and a "budget" torque is like $30ish. Tire Iron with pipe extension works good too.
Torque wrench as a breaker bar? 👏👏🙌
Gotta make due with what you got sometimes 😂🤷♂️
Can't you use the power torque wrench to get lug nuts off? I just bought my first power torque wrench, porter cable, and was under the assumption you could use it for lug bolts...
Torque wrenches are not made to loosen bolts. He should have just hit the lugs with the gun to begin with
@@ImaDjentleman I’m seriously so confused. How’re they not made for loosening things? I’m not being argumentative, I just really don’t understand. I used one to take the lug nuts off the spare tire on my jeep so I could reach the third brake light to pass inspections. It worked perfectly fine. What other uses could it have?
Reusing the cotter pin and using a torque wrench to take off the lug Nuts and using same torque wrench to tighten everything? Yeah that the way to do it
you could've pushed down to loosen the lugs instead of pull p maybe?
What brand is that spindle?
Maxtrac Spindle
glad we all came to comment: RIP to the Torque wrench
😂
We're you actually laying under your truck with just a floor jack holding the truck up?
The guy has balls mans
Who is this guy, I wanna see a video on his inner fenders
Didn't like the 6112s and 5160s?
The 6112 / 5160’s were great! But was ready for an upgrade and liked the idea of being able to adjust the compression and rebound on the BP51s
@@Dangerousd1987 thanks
have a question . . . why is it that SUVs equipped with suspension lift have different lift height at the front & rear? for e.g. a lifted 2021 GMC Yukon Denali (1YC) 4WD + 2.0 in. Lift 6.2 V8 5-Dr Full Size SUV (LHD) or a lifted SUZUKI Jimny VX (JB64W) AllGRIP Pro 4WD + 2.0 in. Lift 1.5 Biturbo I4 3-Dr SUV (RHD) . . . both SUVs feature a 2.0 in. lift at the front wheels & 1.5 in. of lift at the rear . . . why is the 1.5 in. lift at the rear less than that of the 2.0 in. lift at front? is it not possible to have the same 2.0 in. of lift both at the front & rear? if not, why? please advise . . .
I believe it’s because the back is usually used for carying things so it needs a lower lift 🤙
I watched the video but you lost me at breaking lug nuts with a torque wrench
What size tires on this taco
285/70/17
The floor jack appears to be low on oil. Time for a tuneup.
This kit may be a 3" but this truck has more lift than that. Please specify in the description what else is on the truck giving additional lift.
Hey Alan. I have Maxtrac Spindles in the front and already had the OME Dakar Leafs in the rear
Which wheels are those?
Raceline Avengers
Using a torque wrench to take lug nuts off, damn that’s rough
How much inches it get lifted up ??
This kit can yield up to a 3” lift
3" but I also believe it's adjustable
Does the white taco have a Instagram?
2wd ?
What are your wheel and tire specs??
17” wheels and 35” tires 🤙
@@tacomabeast any backspacing on the wheel?
@@tacomabeast did you regear and if so to what
Not to be that guy but I see this Taco many times on my way to and from work(we probably live close together) and I've noticed while following this truck that his rear wheels seem to flex in and out(not like travel up and down) similar to a car with independent suspension but the problem is that he has a solid rear axle and they are not supposed to be able to tow in and out like that. Wondering if he has a stress fracture on his axle tube or maybe a bad wheel bearing or something. I'm no expert with Toyotas but I've got lots of experience with Solid Axles and thought that it doesn't look right at all. Maybe he should investigate it further...
We haven’t noticed that at all but we’ll definitely check it out! 🙌
@@tacomabeast I noticed on the white Tacoma FYI.
When I was driving I had a passenger who was the first one to notice and they pointed it out to me.
Can u say splash guard 1 more time. And of course resuse a shitty cotter pin
Nice video, please use a breaker bar, not a torque wrench to loosen lug nuts.
Thanks for the tip!
Poor torque wrench...that was a shock to the nutz.
Idk if it’s just me....but I find it hard to listen/get tips from someone who uses their tools the wrong way
those bilsteins are way better assemblies over the new ones you put in.
I was going to watch this video, but had to do a double take when I saw you using a torque wrench to remove those lugnuts (let alone pulling it up towards yourself instead of down)... I decided I wouldn't waste my time. I love TacomaBeast, but come on...
Torque wrench as a breaker bar... lulz
This is probably the video steering a bunch of people to disconnect their UCA and then having a hell of a time getting them back in. Video conveniently skips that part. For anyone learning leave the UCA alone. Two bolts bottom of the spindle drop the lower control arm, put strut in jack up LCA and bolt the strut.
Rookie mistake: using a torque wrench as a breaker bar.
Man better not use the ratchet to remove the tire. Instead use use a t-bar/cross bar to prevent damage to your ratchet.
Give you $1 to do mine!
Woody Harrelson 😂
😂😂
Rare shock replacement is not a suspension lift
The jack stands. Smh
Save your back guys and push DOWN with your foot when removing lugs. If he doesn't even know how to remove his lug nuts properly I wouldn't let him put a lift on my truck.
Did you just do what I think you did!!
Smh you gotta strip his UA-cam mechanic certification.
Scratches head, can't figure out why
This isn't a lift kit. This is just changing shocks and other sketchy things.
Hey bud don’t break lug nuts loose with a torque wrench.
Why
@@alecoronel10 You'll mess up the calibration. That's what breaker bars are for.
You lost me at torque wrench breaker bar
😂
Never use a torque wrench to loosen anything.
So then what do you use a torque wrench for if not to loosen and tighten things?
ahhhh damn son that poor torque wrench. It's never a good idea to loosen anything with them.
A. Go buy a breaker bar
B. Go buy a new torque wrench, because yours no longer works
Just throw away the torque wrench now 🤦🏽♂️
It's IFS for Gods sake how hard can it be????????????? Just replace the drive axles every other oil change and good.
“How to change shocks and coilovers on an already lifted truck”
You can lift your front end with just coils lol
@@JB-pk1jx correct. You can lift it with a floor jack too
