Smh 😕 why in the hell have you not hear Sweat by Tool yet, dammit? It's 1st on Opiate, their 1st official album for a reason. If you're not ready to Sweat, just leave the Tool in it's case, children. If you get the Tool out, kids,.. DO WORK with it!!!! Sweat, cry & bleed, children. 3 key ingredients in building anything. You 2 NEED to Sweat, already!!! It's short but, really sweet, with hints of everything they've grown into as a band. It's like every Tool song in seed form, one 3:30 song. Still my favorite Tool in the case/discography
6:20 I’ve always loved how they changed this part live. It’s so perfect, the crowd singing the way it on the album and then Maynard changes it up and the build up is perfect. My favorite live version of this song.

That’s a special stamp Tool has to be able to change the songs live and have the fans embrace it; imo many (i guess mostly non-prog and non-“jam”) bands’ styles aren’t conducive to that. I saw a Maynard interview talking about “correcting” songs. I wish this was a regular thing because the artist spends LOTS of time with their own songs and should welcome themselves to making adjustments and not let fans’ expectations stifle that.

This must have been one of the shows on the Lateralus tour when Alex Grey himself painted Maynard. If you guys want to hear TOOL live in their prime with good audio, you can see their entire set at Coachella '99 with soundboard audio on YT. Highly recommended. Much love, guys.🍻🍻

Alex Grey did his body art and was in the audience. The whole show is insane. Search Live Tool NYC 2002. The H. Scream is possible the most badass moment I’ve ever seen on a stage.
First off please forgive me for not seeing this 6 months ago. Secondly, this tour was amazing! 2002! I wasn't at this show but saw em at Cobo in Detroit. And I haven't missed a TooL show since! Seeing the holy trinity live was awe inspiring. We arrived a little late and had to run or be stampeded by the mob cos Sober started playing and everyone took off running to their seats.
I saw TOOL live for the very first time back in March for my 25th birthday (went by myself ) and damn near shit my pants it was unreal. They NEED to tour again
I’ve been privileged enough to see Tool live 4 times between 2001 and 2007 and I have to say having been to many, many gigs over the years, Tool live is an experience like no other. You guys are bang on the money with your description of overwhelming energy but trust me when I say it’s something that enters your soul from the get go when you’re there. If you’re a fan of Tool and they come within a hairs breath of you then you must go and watch them.

Love you guys. You really need to check out Tool live in Philadelphia 1992. It's about 45 minutes long but worth the watch.
I highly recommend listening to Jambi live 2014 DVD, it was uploaded by Tool archive and is probs the best live video of Jambi - Tool
i can only further highly endorse the recommendations for JC Dobbs '92 and Glass house, '96 pomona, but the news that they are currently working on an official live release dvd from the Lateralus tour should have us all quaking.
I NEED that Lateralus DVD they definitely recorded a lot of the FI tours. Though the Lat tour in 01-02 was like the most epic shows i ever saw.
Maynard always puts so much emotion in his singing and it pulls you into the song so much more

man, I stumbled apon your channel it's the best. been listening to tool since I was 8 years old. my first CD I asked for in a CD music shop well when they had those still. I remember telling my dad I wanted the CD because of the beautiful art on the cover. the next week was my birthday and I begged for my dad for a drum set. I'm 32 now and have been playing ever since. was probably to young for it 😂😂 but you think I'd be sick of Tool after so long but every time I listen to an album I hear new layers of sound and the songs meanings attached to different stages of life

7:07 This is my favorite version of the H. climax. The word “incendiary” comes to mind. That shit is just scorching 🥵. The bass hits and cymbal accents withat riff is almost overwhelmingly explosive and disgusting!
Hell yes!!! So glad you guys enjoyed that. Your reaction when Maynard comes out of the shadows with the body paint to let out that scream is exactly why I recommended this track for you to check out. One of the greatest performances ever. He had Alex Grey (who did the album artwork for Lateralus, 10K Days and Fear Inoculum) come out and paint him from head to toe for this show, Alex lives in NY where this show was. I come back to this live video whenever I have a shitty day or I'm stressed out and it brings me right back to earth. The power of music is truly incredible, so grateful for a band like Tool. Now that you've heard the song, I'd listen to the album version too by the way- you'll see why that scream from Maynard is so special in the live performance. Slight variation from the album, and he takes to a whole new level for the live performance. Cheers guy, thanks for checking this out!

Thought you guys did some of the Salival live tracks like Push It, IMO 01-02 Tours were the best tool tours. I've "Album" tours missed a few that weren't promotion a new album like in 2017. This past Feb The FI tour i saw was out of control but lacked the energy of 20 years ago it's visuals were the main focus understandable though. I was tripping at all of them lol

This song is about choices. The good and bad Angel's on your shoulders tugging at you. He is basically saying he doesnt mind changing for the better, more positive side of life. Killing that other self to become someone new, someone a son can look up to. He is always ahead of his time somehow. This song came out in 96, the matrix came out in 99. Both revolve around making a choice. Then fast forward he comes up with fear innoculum and is talking about dont give in to fear and bam covid hits and everyone thought they needed a shot 😂😂😂

They are going to lose it if they hear Wings For Marie pt 1 and 2. My Mom is still alive. As the oldest of 3 brothers, it’s hard to get through. It’s one of the greatest songs ever, a Son singing to his deceased Mother. Like I said, it’s beautiful but a tough one, even for a U.S. Marine, grown man, blah blah. I’d die for My Mother. Maynard would too.
