Thanks for all the love on my video, I'm glad others enjoyed it.
This song was played at my brothers wake. Knowing how much he loved TooL…remember talking about this album before he passed. Love you brother. Say hi to dad for me.
God bless you and your brother ❤
Find your comfortable space Lee and you’ll meet him on the other side.
Best band ever and maynard's voice-none better!
much like pink floyd, Tool's music feels a bit 'otherwordly'. almost ethereal. your brother had an amazing taste in music, and I can't imagine the pain you've been through - and continue to go through. much love dude 🤟
That's so badass and condolences 🙏
55 years old and just started to really listen to them. Great song, I also enjoy “the pot” and “tempest”. These guys are starting to grow on me. Shame that it took me 20 years to find them.
I discovered them about 2 months ago. I’ve been really enjoying my first listen through of everything. The Grudge is by far my favorite
Better late than never; better Tool than a fool! Ha!
I wouldn't be so upset about it if they'd freaking release a "live DVD" like a normal band!
Honestly? Don't worry about how long it took to find 'em. Just enjoy 'em now!
Welcome aboard
Unborn fetus here. I was conceived at this exact Tool concert and have been a huge fan ever since. My parents really showed me what rock is all about and I'm very thankful for that.
My other half was 8 months pregnant at the gig in Birmingham on 4/5/22, she said the baby was going crazy the entire concert! :D:D
That’s awesome. Thank God for the small rays of light in this dark world
This is so awesome that this country is in a better place to allow you to be born. #toolfanschooselife
That's funny. My daughter was in utero at a Tool concert, in 2002.
@@toddjarrett2109 Awesome, did she grow up a Tool fan?
I'm the perfect amount drunk and stoned and I have an amazing sound system and right now I have tears in my eyes. I've seen this live.
Some good cans, green 💨 and a comfy chair=😊❤ 🔧
LOL! That is just awesome! Enjoy my friend! :D
hell yeah brotha
I'm on the front side of 50, looking down the road at 60, and brother, this song hits hard. Once invincible, indeed. I don't know what reason brought the tear to your eye, but therein lies mine.
are you chasing ponce de leon tho?
Justin's bass skills are so absolutely insane. He's plays it like it's a cello, guitar, violin, synthesizer. Absolutely the best.
justin chancellor is so badass man!
He really is amazing. I saw them in 2019 in Toronto. I was 6 rows back, and I couldn't take my eyes of of Justin. It was magical to watch him work.
My mom is pretty good too. She does something with her vagina. It's weird....
I'm wondering who is doing the counting to keep in time, him or Danny? This a great video demonstrating how much they look at each other and kind of nod at each other. I've seen them live a few times over the years and they've always played that way.
Justin Chancellor and Ryan Martinie are the 2 bass players who I just need to stop what I'm doing and listen to (and watch). They're like snake charmers.
A Tool concert is unlike anything else on this planet. I hope I'm lucky enough to go again one day.
There truly is nothing like it.
You're usually amongst some of the most enlightened humans alive.
you will get to one i believe in you
Fucking here here!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤
I had 300$ tickets that got cancelled when COVID hit and I've really never been more disappointed in my life.
Hope you go. It’s life changing. Not joking. I remember going 8/5/06 at Street Scene San Diego with some good friends. It was unbelievable.
225 years old here, just discovered these guys! Man, have I been missin out huh?
LOL
I detect no sarcasm whatsoever in your comment.
Yeah I hear you. I bought Undertow back in 94, loved it, then forgot about them until about a year ago. I feel like such an idiot, as I never saw them live. I just hope to hell they make one more trip down under. I won't miss the chance again.
I don’t think he was sarcastic atall lol.
All hail..... Mr Jingles
Born in 369 BC and just came across this band.
Ate some shrooms right before this concert and was lounging in the seats at the top of the rows, smoking cigarettes and sipping beers. Felt like a Dream.
Hell yeah.. my kind of show. Love some Lucy at shows as well.
I took some tabs at my last slipknot show 😂.
Usually when I eat psychs at heavy metal shows I always say I'll never do it again. But slipknot was legit on some Lucy.
Tool isn't "that" kind of metal, it's actually the kind of show where shrooms and the such are elevated and seem like the right thing to do lol.
Darker kind of metal and psychedelics don't always mix the best. But it's never stopped me 🤣
They didn't allow us to smoke in London...they sold these shitty ass vapes for 10 pounds and I was kinda forced to buy it. But the acid and tool is a very promising combination
I'm guna eat my Enigma mushroom chocolate bar when I go see them next month. Trying to hit two shows a week apart. We got our tickets for the first show but haven't gotten the tickets yet. Hoping for a price drop day of, ppl just trying to get something for their tickets if they're selling them. They are always great live and fantastic for psychedelics!
This song will forever and always be dedicated to my Dad. After an accident in his 20s, his spine was left messed up. He's been at least using a cane most of his life, sometimes a wheelchair. But he always kept pressing forward. He was recently in a car accident, where he had his arm amputated. Nonetheless, he continued doing his handyman work, such as installing drywall. On the ceiling. With one arm. By himself.
He passed in 2020. I made a trip to Texas with my brother to visit him just months before. He knew he was going. We had to see him one last time. But although I had already connected this song with him at that time, I really wish I had made him listen to it. I'm sure he'd be proud that his son listens to such fine music.
Rest in peace, Dad.
Tool is one of those bands that doesn’t have a bad song each one is a masterpiece
That sounds like the last song they wrote.
@@justinthompson7332 What are you talking about? I'm curious.

@@justinthompson7332 WRONG
@@WickedToonahHe's not wrong tho. BUT it's still awesome 100%, so it barely even matters.
You don't go to a Tool concert to just simply listen to live music, you go to a Tool concert to have surrealistic experience. This band is way ahead of it's time.
I was just saying to my boyfriend that before I die I WILL SEE DANNY CARREY AND MAYNARD!!! I'M 52 and I seen Henry Rollins and Ween and it was a disappointment!! Henry was great, it was the crowd!!! I was the only one standing up! This was at the Tower Theater in Philly and I guess I was the only one who knew what great music was back then! But Tool, Puscifer and perfect circle will always be my favorite!!
No…Music is behind.
I went to see Henry Rollins to have a surrealist experience! But all I got was everyone sitting in their #$@king seats! I was the only one rocking out!! So going to see Tool will be my lifetime, surrealist, bucket list, OMG David Carey let me bang on ur drums and Maynard let me just shake your hand experience!
As a 50 y.o. dude…this is, at the same time, the most inspiring and most crushing song about middle age I’ve ever heard
Danny Carey is 60... Be inspired, not discouraged.
No Shit...
I’m 66; the crush continues and gets harder; TOOL is the Rx.
I love how everyone interpretes their lyrics in a way that relates to their own experience. I hear this song and think of my battles as a solo parent. I listen to it when I need a pick me up. Inspiring and crushing is the best description of this song.
37, old enough to know it's only going to get worse faster.
What a pleasure to see Justin playing his bass... hes enjoying every single second on it.
He does look happy and Maynard always seems stoked with him at the end of the show.
@@keithhutchins8803 he is one of my favourite muso's to watch play ever. He truly loves what he does for a living
Have you seen his “episode” on ‘Ernie Ball: String Theory’? It isn’t a particularly long video, but it offers a fairly intimate look into his approach to his weapon of choice.
Bass players out here with 7 strings and Justin pulls this out with only 4. Master !!!
Wow. Adam hesitated near the beginning, Danny missed a beat with one hand early on and got right back into the groove. And it looked like Justin lost the count at one point, but immediately got back into the groove.
I don't think that I've ever seen a song performed where they _each_ make a mistake.
But it's insane that they can recover so quickly in such a rhythmically complex song.
You are right never heard so many mistakes made by this band, they are human too, hahaha
Agreed i think they all make mistakes at some point on this song but as you say they recover quick enough. Being a three piece means any small mistake sounds a bit glaring but still great musicians one and all
Adam's guitar was fretting out on the low d string in the beginning, quick change to the V.
@@mikeosborn1389you mean 4 piece right? the singer counts as an instrument too. IMO
I noticed it too. Glad to know they are human 😅
174 old here, just discovered the band. I was jamming with Choppin and Bethoven but man, this kick ass sound is not from this world.
😁😁😁
Congratulations on living so long
Right you are sir.. Tis not of this earth
Way ahead of our times and they've started 30 yrs ago
Marcus Aurelius here, and it's really nice seeing the youngsters getting into Tool.
Year ya
Adam Jones is the most chill guitarist I've ever seen. All his energy is harnessed and transferred through his hands. He is very efficient.
He’s not exactly reinventing the wheel..
Tool guitar is some of the easiest guitar to play. Drum and Bass is where it's at.

I totally agree! I LOVE Tool, such an incredibly unique band that musicians appreciate even more for how hard and intricate their music is! 🤘. (And I still blast Vulgar Display and Far Beyond Driven from Pantera currently….)
Nearly 70. First time really hearing this band. Totally unique. wow!!

What an absolutely beautiful composition! These guys are truly some of the greatest artists of our times!!
Yep, very Pink Floyd like.
@@bobboy5508 And a bit of Rush.

Duh
It’s a unique music, that’s for sure. The technicality seems to fill a need. It never gets boring.
Tool is equivalent to the Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach of our time. True artists, and composers of music
Tool speak to people of all ages. Can tell in the comments. I'm 45 and was blessed to have Undertow come out as a teenager, and never looked back. Always have, always will love these guys. 🤟🏽
I saw Tool play this live two weeks ago. It’s such an incredible composition with the 7 against 3 polyrhythms throughout. Insane stuff
Mmmmmm, no words can describe how this song resonates with me. Ty my son for sharing some random cd back in the late 90's. "Hey Mom, I think you might like this band." Seriously one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES 😍 💓 ❤️ 💕 💛 ♥️ 😍 I'm 57=)
Justin correcting Adam at 9:38 gave me a chuckle. Strangely reassuring to know the man himself sometimes fumbles that riff a bit too lol.
Watching Danny Carey going out of sync twice at minute 12 makes me have hope in the world, then Justin and Adam adjusting it's just aaah, those imperfects moments make it extra special
Adam starts fumbling at 0:48

As a 12 year old that has already been to a tool concert(i know right) they have opened my eyes so much to true rock. I've now been listening to nirvana and tool for the past 2 years i think. I love and am thankful that my parents showed me them!

found tool at 14 back in 92. keep spiraling out my friend!
Sounds like a great start. Add soundgarden to your repertoire and that’s music completed already
This reminds me of why I like it when bands don't have huge discographies. For Tool, and other bands with few records available every song is precious, every song is given special attention.
Probably the best artists on the planet IMHO. They recently came trough STL. I missed them do to a stroke. Now that Neal is gone, Danny is the best drummer alive.
You just made my day. DANNY is my idol, my drum God. Good day to you.🤘✌
Can I ask who Neal is?
Neil Peart. Drummer from Rush. Passed away over 2 years ago.
@@trailnameindie My apologies I thought Neal was a surname. Rush are amazing and I have always loved them. Im getting better with names now though lol 🥁
And I’m working on my spelling. 👍
I’m lucky I discovered them when I was very young…around 14 or 15, I still rock out to TOOL. I’m 37 now and this music makes me feel so alive and young.
same age, and also when I heard Tool for the first time. Not long ago I was thinking that the world is pretty f'ed up, but it sure is a blessing to live in this time where we had the opportunity to hop on the Tool train and could've ride it for as long as we did. Something tells me this could be their last album, but it was a hell of a ride..and still is of course
Their music is on another level.. leaves you in another dimension… epic!
65 and have been into Tool and Perfect Circle for 15 years. Introduced by my yoga teacher. It's an addicting beat. Glad they ate touring again. Will chase them down!
@@gisteknetworksinc.8930 thank you.. love their music. Always have
Always! I can never get tired of it. Not one song gets old ever. It's so magical. They're connected to each other musically in a way that a lot of folks will never even begin to understand. It's amazing. I'm sober, no psychedelics. I promise. Just some wine.
That's my favorite thing about listening to Tool. It takes me out of my conscious mind and puts me in a dream state imagining all kinds of cool things. It takes me to a different cool world.

I've been to quite a few tool concerts, was at mid stage for 10,000 days which was cool to get a good look at maynard, but at the Arena show I decided to go check out adams side, again you're not gonna get a bad show from anywhere but my favorite spot the last couple concerts has been right up next to justin. He's all about the performance and engages with the crowd.
Thanks to whomever filmed this. This is likely the closest thing to seeing Tool live that I will ever get so its awesome that its so up close and you get to see each of the guys playing up close and personal.
I love how their music has evolved, unfolded into what it is now. It’s like you’re listening to their old songs but they’ve adapted overtime into new ones. As in, as the band grew and move into different seasons, individual humans do, they use the same songs, same emotions, adding more emotional experiences to them and just have added new chapters to the same characters and characteristics within their music.
It's unbelievable. The saying goes "past their prime" and that's usually what you expect from bands, but this band somehow managed to be as great as ever, if not better.
Lol. Their music has evolved into sounding the exact same for every song..... they are like the modern Era AC/DC.
This might be the best recording of this song ive heard yet. We will never get another Tool.
Last time I saw Tool someone was recording them with their phone and Maynard pointed them out and said "A camera doesn't have a memory. You are HERE and your camera isn't." I was on molly and that made me want to cry for some reason lol It was like we were a tribe or something. Tool is to be experienced
We can't describe it with words, but I'll say it's like the individual members are playing a classic tune of all time of their own including the vocals. Then these 4 classics are put together perfectly in each song. It's madness how these 4 compliment each other perfectly just madness.
My son and daughter just saw them in Philly. Their first concert!! They will never forget it!! Love you guys

Son sencillamente descomunales. Te agarran desde dentro y parece que es lo que siempre has querido escuchar y saber. Los conocí en el 2002 y no hay otra banda que me despierte las emociones que ellos despiertan en mi ser.

Best band on the planet-period!!!
Saw them first in 1993 as they (watch out, here it comes) supported a band named fishbone in Hamburg. So, you can say, I'm a fan from the start.
TOOL is one of the really few bands who get better with age, and, despite they changed they follow their path strictly and without compromises, I admire that very much. I hope 2022 is not the last time I've had the pleasure seeing them live...
I'm glad Justin is your favorite! Couldn't tell you how many times I've seen a recording where he is about to go into a solo and the cameraman zooms right in on Adam like "obviously this is a guitar solo"

Mine, too. I’m 57 years old and have recently been reflecting on the bands that have not just provided enjoyment, but have been pivotal in my perception and understanding. Tool is at the top of a very short list. Their ability to evoke emotion, at least within myself, is unparalleled. I wish I could convey to them my immense gratitude for their hard work and creativity. I seriously doubt another band will ever be able to match their giftedness, massive, raw power and authority.
Always amazing watching true masters of their craft do what they love. Doesn't matter what it is because you know your experiencing something special and rare.
They play like geniuses because they got their shit together as people this is only the epic manifestation of something birthed within and always was.
Had to come back for this... Can't get enough
Justin's such a fkn lad. Love them all
Individually they are the best at what they do. But when they come together, magic.
I cannot stress this enough: Justin C made this show rock.
They are all masters of their craft. Tool isn’t Tool without each of them doing their thing. I’m going to be seeing my 24th Tool concert on the 20th of February in Philly! Best band in the world, by a country mile!
Danny helped! I dig Adam, he knows how to use his limited skills to build a sound that is bass heavy, also bass is so different in its place, with the sounds that exploration have wrought. I loved Paul’s work and I’m a sucker for the original but he left on his own outta frustration he claimed. Said the songwriting took too long and he wanted to play lead. It would have sounded like the rest. So he leaves before their breakout album. If it took so long why was the release so close to Undertow? He used a current situation to justify the fact that he’s stupid for leaving, now that’s his story, somehow I feel there is much more to it.
