    PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:
High and Over was often referred to locally as the 'Aeroplane House' due to winged roof terraces. In recent years the current owners have undertaken a comprehensive programme of refurbishment to restore much of the property to its former glory. With a fine attention to research and detail many of the original features have been reinstated including restoring the original ground floor configuration with its glazed doors and ceiling light boxes in the principal reception rooms.
The property retains about 1.7 acres of its original gardens and grounds with the landscaped gardens forming the original 'Roman' garden of the estate with areas of terrace and steps down to the circular swimming pool with extensive areas of lawn and a lightly wooded backdrop.

The house is beautiful, but the outdoor spaces are simply stunning! And I love a property with a bit of history.

If anyone is interested, there is a UA-cam video in black and white showing the house as it was, immediately after completion in the 1930's

Thank you for your comment Jane, we love the video on British Pathe and have even sent our updated tour to them. The original video helped us to understand some of the history of the home before we filmed this tour.

What a STUNNING property. My tastes run more toward modern minimalism, but how could you not fall in love with this Art Deco masterpiece? Cheers.

We are so glad you agree with us. This home was, and still is, a stunning example of modernist architecture.

I can’t quite believe this gem is in Buckinghamshire! It could definitely pass for a Mediterranean villa.

Interesting statue at 10:33! It's like something Dall-E might sculpt if it was allowed to. I do like the garden.

There are lots of pieces of intrigue in this gorgeous garden, with secret patios and large lawns offering plenty of space for statues and sculptures.

Love it! That would be my dream home and its not too big you know with some massive houses there are rooms that you would never go in. When I lived at home with my parents they had rather a large house and when they were away there was like a wing I didn't even go in! If only I had a spare 3mill!

We think it is the perfect size for a family too, there are three reception rooms and six bedrooms in total - just the right amount for visiting guests.

Love the spacious bedrooms, but that’s about all I love, just not my taste I suppose. Very clear and well conducted tour, Holly.

Art Deco Isn't bad because it has geometric detail in design elements, nevertheless it is an aesthetic over simplification into dull and industrial monotony. Mid-century modern is disgusting, because it is bland and minimalist, just like Scandinavian homes, so lacks essential engaging and stimulating detail.
The ground floor, the gardens, and the stairways are quite nice. The bedrooms, though, are quite ordinary. This must've been lovely in the 1920s.
The town itself might be a little dull for me, but quite okay for my children, all of whom are under 7. The 30 mile commute to London isn't too bad.
On the whole, I could live in it if I couldn't find anything better.
