- I grew up in a gorgeous Art Deco home in Devon and although I now live in London I have spent the last 4 months in my hometown in lockdown. So I thought I would do an appreciation video to celebrate my favourite style of architecture, where it came from and the design and detail that make it so exciting!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! A TOTALLY AWSOME VIDEO!!! A MUST WATCH!!!! GREAT VIDEO AND THANKS FOR SHARING!!!
Those bathroom "tiles" are a glass tile, known in the USA as Vitrolite. I'm not sure if it is still being manufactured, though because of restorers they may have reproduced it. I'm an artist and I used to collect original Vitrolite™ glass tiles. I re-purposed them into one of kind home furnishings. They are extremely durable, and in the 1930s, they were used on the facades of movie theater buildings. They came in a whole range of colors including black.
What a lovely house, must have been a great place to have grown up.
Wow I really love your house I wish I had an art deco home doesn't have to be 2 story single would be nice
Oh I sooooo envy your parents.
A gorgeous watch. Thanks for a lovely tour.
Flat roofs and the UK ….
Never turns out well.
Love Art Deco
Fantastic to see all the original fixtures kept in the house.
The Savoy in London is a great example of Art Deco. It is like stepping back in time whenever I stay there.
I love your presentation...! I am obsessed with Art Deco... oh how out of place I am in the 21st Century. This should be NYC 1920.....
A very nice home, I hope that someone how loves it becomes the owner.
i like this woman. way fun sounding
Thanks for the tour and valuable infos! Tip: Try L cut and J cut in your video editing, to make it flow better 😉 Cheers!
Art Deco was a modern movement but its design philosophy was classical design.
Bakelite is a "Plastic" made from sawdust and resin plastic. It is fire-proof, but not shatter-proof.
Dreadful stuff ….
Do you remember the old Bakelite telephones?
@@monk3yboy69 I have seen them. I also have two Bakelite Brownie Hawkeye cameras. One of them is cracked from someone dropping it on the floor. The case is about 1.5 inches thick! LOL!
I loved the house and her passion on the art deco style. Only the kitchen is not what it should be. The one from "The boy in the striped pajamas" would be perfect.
Too bad this video doesn't include a 1937 DeLange in the driveway.
Nice
What is ever guy waiting for...? That said she is very attractive
