Aussie Kent B&H has it listed as “discontinued” while Bestbuy US removed the page completely. I suppose it’s still in the air on what they truly did with this model. At best, it’s a simple recall with months of wait due to current pandemic, at worst; it’s discontinued completely.

@@Yahya-X It supports 10 bit, though I'm not sure if it does at maximum refresh rate. DP 1.4 with DSC supports up to 4k@240hz at 10 bit with no chroma subsampling. The G9 still has less pixels than 4k so the DP 1.4 interface wouldn't limit the ability to use 10 bit color at 240hz.
Simon Liu I saw Linus’ review of the monitor and when he enabled 240Hz in the nvidia control panel, 8 bit colour depth was the maximum you could select
Simon Liu Yeah you’re right. I saw Linus’ first review on his shortcircuit channel. It looks like on the 20 series Nvidia gpus and Newer AMD cards only support 10 bit at 240Hz via compression only through. Display port 2.0 should fix that issue so no compression is needed

My only question, that I can't find an answer to, is: can we use it in a "2 screen" mode? Where you game on one half and have a a browser on the other half? Or something that would allow me to share one "half" of the screen through communications software? I often need to present stuff, and I always need more than one screen to do this, and sharing ultra wide screen is not convenient for my viewers.

@@treeladder5338 I did, but most of them seems to indicate that the game will just be in a windowed mode that will take half the screen. So your game has to support windowed mode, and it doesn't help me sharing half a screen to my colleagues through web conference software
Eye fatigue can be caused by how bright and large the monitor is... I have the the CHG90 and playing for long sessions on twitch can be awful. I found that using the Eye Saver mode has been a life saver!
I currently have the previous version, the CRG9. Yeah its a wide monitor but you get used to it very quickly in like 2 days max or so. After that it doesnt feel big at all. Just like Frank says at 9:35. For reference: I came from a 16:9 1080P monitor, having used it for many years, straight to the currently owned CRG9 (49 inch)
Judging by the headphone holder and the beautiful eye at the back of this monitor, I'm thinking it was made for those setups where the desk isn't up against a wall but, instead, in the middle of a room, probably one of those large, studio-like rooms.
Yeah, I am looking at some of the LG tvs and not sure if I can make that work. Maybe I will buy the ps5 first and make decisions after... exciting times.
If it had usb-c and didn't have that light glow on the back (which is gonna stare at the wall the whole time and adds to the total cost of the screen in general) then I would've bought it. I was already set to get the Dell but held off until I saw a good review on this one. Thanks for helping me make my decision!
Here better Linus. Problem is no previewer testing gsync to see if it flicker or not. Test gsync, open the monitor osd to see the Hz jumping up and down is the only way to confirm Gsync work and without flickering.
what's the point of being able to choose response time? Standard > Faster > Fastest. why not just default to fastest and not bother with slower options, what would benefit from the slowest setting? power usage?...
I bought this monitor 2 weeks ago and I totally love it. Still using a 9 year old af pc, can’t wait to upgrade to a monster computer soon to make the best use of this beauty. This video just pumped me even more to get a new pc. Also, GSync and FreeSync? I thought it was just GSync... I was kinda sad that I had to wait till 2022 to get a 3080, now I’ll be more than happy to grab one of the new AMD gpus. PS: if you buy the monitor thru the samsung website it’s gonna cost you $1500, in Amazon and other sites is at $2400 or more.

Judging by the headphone holder and the beautiful eye at the back of this monitor, I'm thinking it was made for those setups where the desk isn't up against a wall but, instead, in the middle of a room, probably one of those large, studio-like rooms.
only 1 con , I need hdmi 2.1 for PS5 or else I would get this monitor.
wait for the frimware update maybe we'll see hdmi 2.1 , but i doubt ps5 or xbox will be compatible with ultrawide display....
Yeah, I am looking at some of the LG tvs and not sure if I can make that work. Maybe I will buy the ps5 first and make decisions after... exciting times.
Fuck them consoles for kids. You will need a proper Gaming PC for this beast. If you only can afford a console you can not afford this monitor ...
PS5 😂🤣🤣
@@SURO90 Exclusives shut you up instantly lmao. Specifically playstation.
Xbox.... who needs it when you have a computer?
If it had usb-c and didn't have that light glow on the back (which is gonna stare at the wall the whole time and adds to the total cost of the screen in general) then I would've bought it. I was already set to get the Dell but held off until I saw a good review on this one. Thanks for helping me make my decision!
me: *watching video at 144p* damn these graphics suck
Wondering what you think about it after 2 months?
Who else already watched the g9 review from Linus but had to watch another one because it from randomfrankp
Linus didn’t review it, he opened the box and set it up.
POV: You were interested untill you heard the price
I’d rather get an OLED for that price
For anyone wondering there is a standard version called the samsung G7 it has almost the same specs but is standard 16:9
There should really be a 21:9 version of this as well. Odyssey G8 Samsung pleaseeee
I wanna get this for my boyfriend 😫
marry me
Lucky guy
Yep what they said👆😂
@Subway hey bro omg!! You kidding, where you been hiding mate?
@Subway what's your gammer tag?
On their website it says it's not available in the USA? What?
Would've liked some more detail on the response times considering it's a VA panel
1ms
@@lantern214 I'm talking about actual response time and how well it performs, not the advertised response time
@@iuel42 Then check out Linus. He has a long video about the same monitor in full detail.
@@lantern214 No he doesn't. He made an unboxing and first impressions. Far from an actual monitor analysis and review. I'll wait for HardwareUnboxed, Rtings, TFTCentral, PcMonitors etc. to review this properly in detail
Thanks man.. I'm using the Samsung Odyssey G9 now.
Where can I buy one? Can’t find it for sale anywhere.
I am interested in this monitor for work purposes as well as gaming, so would have been good to see more info on that side
Same. I'm on a cheap 1080P 25'' AOC. I do a lot of VM work and preordered this. Waiting on productivity reviews to decide if I should go with this or just cancel.
Legit cannot wait to buy thisss!
Thanks for the review!
I heard these have all been recalled by Samsung. Not sure the exact reason. But retailers are showing sold out or discontinued. Apparently they had to ship everything back to Samsung
2 years late but I just scored this baby for $900 which is a SALE if I ever saw one. Sure it's not its neo successor but it still holds up pretty well to other monitors.
Can't wait to add it to my new gaming setup. Not to mention my DAW will look awesome in this monitor. Freaking amazing!!
Why does every tech youtube doesnt go in detail about the possibilities you get with such a wide monitor. for example putting more input signals in.. putting the PC, PS4 or a TV Reciever in and how the split screen functionality is working. thats currently the only reason i am not going to buy it, because i dont know how well it works. thats very important if you are going the replace a multi monitor setup...
Hope you could do another vid about it
One question....... where do you store your monitors that you review
What to watch?
How about this 49” monitor for gaming ?
Just got it. Best monitor on the market
What hardware are you running and what settings did you use for Battlefield? What is your actual fps?
Great vid man! Any info on that keyboard?!
customized Matrix Elite Keyboard
I was waiting for this G9 Monitor review the last 2 weeks, and I finally could see yours, very well made!...A couple of things are still not clear to me!...What would the best pc requirements to have this monitor (which cpu and graphic card)? what pc system did you use to test it????
Will you do a review of the SAMSUNG 32-inch Odyssey G7 - QHD 1000R. Keep up the great work..
so I can’t get this monitor with an RTX 3070 and have the DSC feature which allows me to use the 240hz refresh rate? I got the DSC info from LinusTechTips non-sponsored Samsung G9 monitor review.
Thank you, obviously it's still a beast of a monitor. 2022 it's $1100, I bought it and watching tracking as I type this.
does this monitor have speakers?
I noticed while you went through the menu the screen shakes a good bit. Does it have any play in it while gaming, say if you are bit heavy handed with the mouse or anything?
Good review, loving the content.
