Honestly I feel as though it's priced pretty fairly for what you get. It's expensive no doubt but it is also a fantastic piece of tech. I just picked up an Asus XG32VQR I got a helluva deal on and I'm happy with it but.....ultrawides are still awesome lol

There are different levels. 500 pc should get a $100-200 monitor. If you have a $5,000-6,000 pc then this makes sense.

Just picked up this monitor 2 weeks ago!! After finding your review on it!! It’s brought my set up to the next level and i love it!! I will say i did get a slight headache because how big it is and so much going on but, after using for a few days my eyes have adjusted!!!

One of my coworkers got this. He said the first day it was really weird with all the curve, but after a few days he didn't even notice anymore and he loved being able to see everything easily without moving his head.

This panel uses a junk edge-lit VA panel so it has no local dimming. Therefore, no real HDR. The contrast ratios are so bad it's funny. No use in buying this. It's dead-on-arrival.

I noticed while you went through the menu the screen shakes a good bit. Does it have any play in it while gaming, say if you are bit heavy handed with the mouse or anything?

So one question I would like to ask, would you replace your 2 34's with one of these?
I am thinking about swapping my 3 34's but LG has some nice gaming TV options that could be used for double trouble.
Just get the new 38" LG 144hz panel. I have the previous version of this Samsung (the 120hz CRG9) and being a VA panel there is some ghosting in dark pixel transitions so the panel can't fully take advantage of 120hz. I don't expect Samsung to have done any major breakthroughs in that regard so you will be paying a lot of premium for 240hz without the ability to actually take advantage of it in most scenarios. Also without proper local dimming the HDR1000 is garbage in dark scenes, there is too much glow and that reduces contrast and washes out colors. HDR only looks good in bright games or UA-cam HDR videos. Again I don't expect this new model to be any different than mine. Do not buy gaming monitors for HDR.
@Omar the reason I suggested the LG 38" to the OP is because he was clearly prioritizing size and while double 34" displays do provide ample desktop space for work he'll only be able to use one of them for gaming which reduces his options to either 38" or 49" (and the LG 38" provides outstanding pixel transitions times as cherry on top). As for HDR performance I agree that your FALD display is much better than my Samsung CRG9 or LG 38GL950 in that regard but still not a replacement for OLED. In fact for the price of a 35" FALD monitor you can buy a 48" LG CX OLED for gaming and a standard 31.5" 4k display to use in desktop. I say that because you don't want to be using OLED in desktop for burn-in reasons so might as well get another monitor for work. If I hadn't spent that much money on my CRG9 last year that is what I would have done this year but its too late for that now.

Why would you even mention the power bill, even here in Germany where we pay 0.30€/0.34$ per kWh. A decent setup running games 2 hours every day (!) won't cost you a lot more than 50$ a year, for most people 2 hours every day is too much, as people have jobs ... in the U.S. with an identical setup you would pay no more than 20$. Not even worth mentioning.

loak3d kirk Same here sticking with my 165Hz 1440p. This monitor also at 240Hz only does 8bit and not the 10bit which is required for HDR. If this monitor had DP 2.0 then I believe it would have done so.
@@Yahya-X It supports 10 bit, though I'm not sure if it does at maximum refresh rate. DP 1.4 with DSC supports up to 4k@240hz at 10 bit with no chroma subsampling. The G9 still has less pixels than 4k so the DP 1.4 interface wouldn't limit the ability to use 10 bit color at 240hz.
Simon Liu I saw Linus’ review of the monitor and when he enabled 240Hz in the nvidia control panel, 8 bit colour depth was the maximum you could select

Simon Liu Yeah you’re right. I saw Linus’ first review on his shortcircuit channel. It looks like on the 20 series Nvidia gpus and Newer AMD cards only support 10 bit at 240Hz via compression only through. Display port 2.0 should fix that issue so no compression is needed

Good video. Quick question, im waiting on on my screen but in the meantime working on making my own gamer desk. You stated your desk was 60" wide but whats the depth and do you feel the need for something deeper than say 24" given the foot print of the G9?
If it had usb-c and didn't have that light glow on the back (which is gonna stare at the wall the whole time and adds to the total cost of the screen in general) then I would've bought it. I was already set to get the Dell but held off until I saw a good review on this one. Thanks for helping me make my decision!

I currently have the previous version, the CRG9. Yeah its a wide monitor but you get used to it very quickly in like 2 days max or so. After that it doesnt feel big at all. Just like Frank says at 9:35. For reference: I came from a 16:9 1080P monitor, having used it for many years, straight to the currently owned CRG9 (49 inch)

Linus didn’t review it, he opened the box and set it up.
Here better Linus. Problem is no previewer testing gsync to see if it flicker or not. Test gsync, open the monitor osd to see the Hz jumping up and down is the only way to confirm Gsync work and without flickering.

Eye fatigue can be caused by how bright and large the monitor is... I have the the CHG90 and playing for long sessions on twitch can be awful. I found that using the Eye Saver mode has been a life saver!

Yes you can enable their picture in picture mode for split screen inputs
