I don’t understand this comment but really want to. Can you explain?
@@6eorg393 We want virtual monitors within one hardware monitor. Split the screen into different monitors like how we can currently do with applications. It is easier to snap applications into specific shapes if the application thinks it is going fullscreen. Additionally, if you have two different kinds of monitors then you may get different pixel densities that prevent things from ever looking right. Partitioning one big monitor into several virtual monitors wouldn't have this issue (I don't think).
Yup. so far I have no regrets, and yes you need a strong card! what's really nice is there's games that actually give you the extra FOV on the 5120x1440 resolution. the only real issue is trying to live stream on ultrawide is not really supported on twitch. I'd just check out RTINGS ratings of monitors. They do in depth scientific testing. Better than pretty much all other reviews I've seen
@@mynameispron Ah, alright. Because one might think that the opinion might not be his own, but the company's or is there another reason?
@@pzkY @@pzkY this channel's policy when doing sponsored video is they will showcase (not reviewing) product capabilities by (maybe) showing some feature, unboxing, and mentioning all the talking point that the company gave them. however, showcase is not the same as review, and that means there won't be in depth performance testing, benchmark, like we usually see in a "review" video. however linus also said (if i recall correctly) that they won't say stuff the don't believe to be true about the product even though they are showcasing the product. hope this helps and pls correct me if im wrong.

@@PowerofRock24 Yea, but it still takes up too much space. I prefer having one screen anyway
@@jkteddy77 Please tell me what it's like when you use it. I was thinking of playing games at 21:9 on it but I worry that most games will stretch to 32:9 when played at 21:9.
I have the CRG9 (the predecessor to this monitors predecessor) and having lived with a 32:9 aspect ratio for awhile now…it definitely isn’t for everyone. Even something as basic as finding a decent desktop background is a chore. There are also other annoying things like how most in browser video players that don’t know how to handle it effectively (going full screen leaves a whole bunch of blank space on the sides but you can’t multitask in those blank spaces…I basically have to use theatre mode on UA-cam instead).
You basically need a massive desk because of its foot print or you’ll need to invest a couple hundred dollars in a monitor stand that can support the weight. The monitor will be so heavy that most monitor stands with head tilt functions won’t be able to handle it.
Having said that, I love the PBP mode. It basically allows you to treat the monitor like two separate 16:9 27 inch monitors.
I like how they came up with neo now. Just lately got firmware updates and bios to make g9 and 3090 work at 240hz.... Though most smaller resolutions are not usable over 144hz.
From someone that has a ultrawide monitor, what these reviews never mention is that a lot of the games that you will want to play wont support it so you will have massive black bars on the sides
There’s often mods for it tho
Any thoughts on the color accuracy of this monitor? For tasks like video and photo editing?

Not every channel can go off-script on a product showcase and get away with it.
You mean other than one of the biggest tech youtubers out there?
They could as long as they show it off well
When you're a big channel with many tech nerd folks who trust the hosts, it's making it harder for brands to force you to a certain sketchy stuff because all it takes is just for those hosts to report it to the audience. If it's a smaller channel, however, they may think it's worth putting the host on the spot since the host doesn't have much to counter 'threat' the demands
I exclusively use my CHG90 in 2 * 16:9 or in 21:9 + 11:9 mode (when 21:9 mode works properly, Nvidia drivers made it start flickering), very few games and applications take advantage of 32:9, only downside is it limits the refresh rate to 100 down from 120 and no HDR in split mode.
as someone who enjoys suffering thru destiny 2, I appreciate seeing it, but id be curious to the reason why some games aside from the usual few (doom/forza) get picked.
The games that often get chosen are there because they are highly optimized while also being good examples of what they do. So it’s the hardware being tested without having to worry about the software being a issue.
Destiny 2 is well optimized for Ultra-wide monitors.
"if it aint broke dont fix it" lmao, these monitors had some of the worst QC in the industry when they dropped, and still suffer from tons of software issues getting HDR to work properly in different resolutions/refreshes

Videos with "showcase" in the title are sponsored (its in the description, it clearly says its sponsored) and videos titled "review" are ones with extensive testing and the opinions of LTT staff.
This is clearly a video that they were paid to praise the monitor. Please dont waste peoples time with this nonsense. At the vary least you won't waste mine. Have a good day my man.
Dad: Is this absolutely necessary for your online class?
*Me: Yes, absolutely*
thank you I love your channel
Glad I watched this video.....pretty sure I wouldn't of thought to attach the stand to screen prior to removing monitor from box haha
I love the way you talk to us like we are all gonna buy 2 of them or something.
Would like to see you double stacking it like your current setup 😆
Why? Seems like an 8k TV would be a better experience, and cheaper, too.
@@OtherTheDave *4k, a 50" 4k IPS can be had for
@@serbrighterunagainst9231 There are 8k TVs cheaper than two of the monitors Linus is showing here.
I love seeing samsung making a 1000R Curve monitor, but never a 2 by 2 chip for a PS5. Great stuff Sumsung it's been a year now haha
I'd like to know what kind of set up you need to run and actually take advantage of this monitor. I'd also love a comparison between this monitor and the earlier one. There is about a $1000 price difference. Is it worth it?
"We're trying to make it look bad right now, here comes the worst case scenario. I know we're sponsored by Samsung, but people gotta know what they're buying." This, people, is the right way of reviewing a product, not some other youtuber that only shows the best case scenario to "please" their sponsors. Props to Linus and his team.
How did none of these reviewers figure out the HDR was broken on this monitor for gaming. They all gave it raving HDR performance reviews. Based on the reviews I purchased it, only to find the HDR is broken when playing games. Once you do a google search you find that this is a major complaint of this monitor. How do you advertise something like this, then when the retail version get's released it's major feature to buy the TV doesn't even work.
Had the 48 CX for about 2 years now. Still love it. Always debated getting one of these instead, but the price difference was too big. And I have a large desk that can handle the 48 inches. Now that they have a 42 inch and dells oled monitor, competition is great.
I hope we get to see more of these monsters. Regular 27" and 34" have improved so much last 5 years.
Makes me so happy watching you play both Destiny 2 and Forza Horizon 4. Like the only games I play lol
The good news is that I am in my early 20's. I can still get this type of stuff for a decent price before I die (probably what, like 10-20 years at this rate). :D
Hopefully by that time you will be able to pick up an RTX 3090 for msrp to go with it =p
Assuming you make enough money to cash out I dunno 2/3 of your monthly income on some diodes
@Mr.Springtrap im in my early 20' and even with a part time job and being a student the answer is a no..
RATIO
@Mr.Springtrap im in my early 20s and was able to get myself one (the previous model) for a bit less than msrp about a year ago
Awesome PC case ♥️
I am thinking about the G9 for sometime, but I wanted to wait for the newer version.
Since I am one of those mad persons who loves my desktop with a clean black background and without icons, I will quickly start to noticed "deffects"
I think I will lean towards de cx48 now...
