Great review! What I really enjoyed is that instead of going into all those ridiculous details too much you talk about using the actual monitor. You have finally given me a good reason to purchase a 49 inch screen; when you mention swivelling on your chair when using dual monitors. I completely agree as that is my bane of dual monitors. Working in an office with two monitors are great for productivity, but I'd love a third to centre most of viewing and save my neck/back and general comfort. I end up with either a sore neck/back or am constantly moving the keyboard/mouse to sit in front of one of the screens. So a monitor this size would solve the issue of having three monitors and even more desk space/cords etc. SO thanks for finally answering a question literally no other review has mentioned. Please stick to the usability/ergonomics side and less of the crazy tech. Like I really don't need to see you stick a sensor on the monitor to prove how great the contrast is! As you said, no one is really going to notice the difference anyway. Unless you have the best monitor beside it, you'll get used to it and won't even notice on a day-to-day. Again, great review!
I honestly think this monitor paired with nvidias DLSS 2.0 (And soon to be 3.0) would be the perfect match. You could probably get away with running games at 1080p on a 1080 or higher and be just fine and still get the 2k quality.

Highly suggest it or if you can afford it wait for the updated one later this year which will be a nice gloss white and 240hz (it will probably $1800+ tho and even a 2080ti won’t push that) I get 95-105fps on high settings and 50% render quality in division 2 with a 2080 super.

Hey Marcus, just wondering whether you're going to review a Samsung Odyssey G9? It's the next step up from this monitor and the specs on it are insane!
Great review as always. Could you potentially show the difference in FPS between a 3440x1440 monitor and this monitor to demonstrate the additional load a monitor of this size puts on a GPU?
Its around 32% more pixels than 3440x1440, you will get lets call it 30% less FPS in whatever game you are looking at. Doesn't quiet work this way but very much close enough.
Should I get this monitor for Xbox series X? I play FPS and RPG or should I wait for new monitor with 2.1 HDMI. Last I play on 4k HDR 10 monitor now, how does this one look compared to a 4k
Hi, out of interest what is the depth of the desk you did the review on. The monitor seems to fit well on it, you mention it was a customer size, I have a very similar looking desk that is 700mm deep.
I bought this monitor and waiting for delivery. Can you please direct me where to get the star sky wallpaper with shooting stars and that at 7:37 of the video? Great review. Thanks.
Thank you very much for your excellent review. I have some additional questions: how are you doing with the black level? Does the monitor suffer from clouding? Does it suffer from backlight bleeding? I'm a bit of a maniac with these things since I like to play in total darkness. And would you say that colors looks like an IPS panel? I have had an LG 29" 21:9 which is IPS for 6 years now and I am afraid to make the leap to Samsung due to the doubts I have. In my country the LG 49wl95c-w which is IPS is also available. I work in design and of course I also play a lot. Which one do you think I should choose?
And more serious question: the G9 does not appear to have a KVM switch. So how would using two inputs side by side work? Does it work? Say, a desktop and a laptop?
Looking to compare this to the Lg49wl95c for video creation. I love the lg for the ips element but the Samsung is so much brighter. I’m not a gamer, but I do like vivid content for video creation. Any advice?
How would you say this will run on a very high end Alienware R11 with a 3080 RTX with 128gb of system ram? I also see there is a 240hz refresh rate that supports Nvidia Gsync version thats more expensive. Would you suggest this monitor for say an primary MMO player, the new Star wars Squadrons type game etc or go for the 240hz version? Thank you for any help.
iam looking for a good monitor and i was considering this one but i get sick just from siting in a car for 5 minutes and you said that this monitor gave you some motion sicknes and i dont know if i should buy it or not so i want to ask you or someone if there is some alternative which is as good as this one thanks (sorry for my english)
Question: what would be the best monitor to get to resemble playing on a 60 inch TV? Making the switch to PC after being a console player my whole life, and I'm not ready to give up my couch gaming time yet.
Very cool presentation of this screen. Thanks ! You mentioned we can plug in two different devices, like to computers. Can we control both computers with one only Keyboard and mouse ?
I am considering investing in this monitor purely for working from home, but not sure if my Microsoft Surface Pro mid spec laptop will be able to drive it? Any advice.
I got RTX 3080...cant really find much choice of G-Sync monitor and there is lot of Freesync monitor. I am into sim racing game only especially Assetto Corsa competizione. Is there is much different if i were to get freesync monitor with RTX 3080?
What about text, I have heard (and seen) that it is a bit blurry on this display due to VA panel and subpixels? Thats with native resolution and no scaling of course.
I believe those blurry text reviews are on the older Samsung 49" CHG90, 3840x1080. This review is the new model CRG9, 5120x1440. But yeah. it would have been nice if he addressed this in his review.
@@firstman9273 No, its not related to the resolution but rather the VA panel with its subpixel structure. Low resolution does not give you "unsharp" letters, but blocky ones.
Just got a G7 32"which is paired with a an Gigabyte Gaming RTX 3070 and I'm getting 232fps with G Sync and HDR on all in Max Settings (Apex Legends) :)
I have an 11gb 1080Ti at the moment. What is it like as far as screen res selection in game? Can I specify a screen width which doesn’t use the entire width and still has correct aspect ratio? I really want this screen for the massive desktop area for productivity and will update my GPU once the 30xx range are out, but play games now so if it’s not going to screw AR I think it would be a good choice.
Any gaming benchmarks planned? I'm planning to buy this monitor and a 2080 TI but I'm cautious about pulling the trigger now with the rumours around 30xx and big Navi. Would the 2080 Super be enough for this beast?
You can pretty much look up 2160P(4K) game benchmarks and add on 10%fps, keeping in mind most benchmarks use full ultra settings as a baseline, where gamers are usually smart enough to tweak a few settings for the optimal IQ to performance balance.
Hey centric, I saw you have played games in all sorts of monitor such as ultrawide as well as super ultrawide. As I love to play games big screen , which one will you suggest me to buy ultrawide or super ultrawide ? And which monitor exactly ? I am a bit of confused , please help me in this regard....
I considered getting this monitor, but I ended up with a 38 inch ultra wide instead. Just wasn't practical for my desk because of all the stuff it would block. My 38 does block stuff, but it's workable.
@@xx7135 This is late, but, no. Its easier to run games on, its 144hz instead of 120hz, and it allows you to plug in 2 computers and use PiP. Which is a HUGE plus, and is the only reason why i'm hesitating to purchase it, because I would love to code on my macbook and research on the windows, so, I could use both. They are both great choices.
Samsung's new Odyssey G9 monitor brought me here and I am really considering if it is worth upgrading from an X34P instead of the PG35VQ. Is Gsync ultimate impressive?
When a flat surface is displayed on a curved monitor the perspective gets distorted. A kind of fisheye effect. The only solution to fix that is when monitors producers will address directly to DirectX and Vulcan developers to add a curved field of view to those libraries.
With all that real estate were there any imperfections in the panel (dead or stuck pixels)? That would be my only worry when buying a panel that large or should I say wide.
How is this different than the LG or Dell 49" monitors. I do not game, was hoping to use it for work. I heard that this has more of a curve to it which I think would be beneficial.
Extremely informative and very well put together video! I do have a question: The feet (stand) is a bit big, of course, because of the size of the monitor. Could you possibly tell me the footprint of the stand? Basically, the distance between the furthest back of the stand to the upper front of the stand. I have a desk stand and would like to know will it fit completely on it. Thanks!
for design creation & gaming is this monitor worth it? or should i get two LG 27GL850's with the 144hz response? bearing in mind i only have an RTX 2070 super and an I7-9700k

I move in from my x34 predator 3440x1440 to this Samsung and let me tell u its day and night u are right with the right set up and desk space this its without doubt one of the best monitors on the market. Thanks for ur video. U just described under 11 mins
thanks for ur time to read my comment hey quick question what its the best setting to experience hdr on nvidia control panel i have test the 100hz for 10bit color /rgb and full . on window 10 i activate hdr but in games like bf5 for tell u the truth i rather go sdr than hdr excepting tomb rayder .anyways what setting do u have on nvidia control panel and monitor to get the max performance peak brightness out of it did u update the monitor to the latest firmware or let it stock 100.4 version? thanks great channel
eeew VA Panel with extra ghosting, and fish eye effect due to its size, not a trade I would make.
@@Battleneter lol. Maybe ur 20/20 eyes seem better the x34 predator but for me its day and night. Thanks for ur time
Hey Marcus, just wondering whether you're going to review a Samsung Odyssey G9? It's the next step up from this monitor and the specs on it are insane!
Great review as always. Could you potentially show the difference in FPS between a 3440x1440 monitor and this monitor to demonstrate the additional load a monitor of this size puts on a GPU?
Its around 32% more pixels than 3440x1440, you will get lets call it 30% less FPS in whatever game you are looking at. Doesn't quiet work this way but very much close enough.
I was wondering the same thing as I have a 100hz Ultrawide. So might use the % increase to give a rough estimate
I really would like to know if you would recommend this monitor for coding/programming and running different editors. Is it enjoyable and pleasant?
I like that monitor's width it's just looks proportionally far too shallow imo.
Which curved game screen do you then recommend as the best you know about. Which screen is the screen that you use for your own use?
The 4ms response time on mine is what kills it for me. Might upgrade to an OLED.
But can it be split into 2 monitors for a PC and PS5?
Looking to compare this to the Lg49wl95c for video creation. I love the lg for the ips element but the Samsung is so much brighter. I’m not a gamer, but I do like vivid content for video creation. Any advice?
How would you say this will run on a very high end Alienware R11 with a 3080 RTX with 128gb of system ram? I also see there is a 240hz refresh rate that supports Nvidia Gsync version thats more expensive. Would you suggest this monitor for say an primary MMO player, the new Star wars Squadrons type game etc or go for the 240hz version? Thank you for any help.
Thanks a review that actually explained its not quite a 4k performance hit.
I haven’t watched you in like 3 years, sounds like you finally got some fuzz on your peaches!
💀😂
Was debating this one and lg cx 48 inch. I went with LG, while both seem like good monitors, the LG just had too much going for it. Don't regret it.
iam looking for a good monitor and i was considering this one but i get sick just from siting in a car for 5 minutes and you said that this monitor gave you some motion sicknes and i dont know if i should buy it or not so i want to ask you or someone if there is some alternative which is as good as this one thanks (sorry for my english)
Question: what would be the best monitor to get to resemble playing on a 60 inch TV? Making the switch to PC after being a console player my whole life, and I'm not ready to give up my couch gaming time yet.
A 60 inch TV
wonderful review! How does it compare to Philips 499 that you also have reviewed? is it worth spending 200euros less and buy the philips?
My son wants something like this. He has a rx590. Would that be any good or even possible to use this monitor?
Very cool presentation of this screen. Thanks ! You mentioned we can plug in two different devices, like to computers. Can we control both computers with one only Keyboard and mouse ?
I think no
Would I have prob
Emu with a MacBook Air 2020? Nice video
I am considering investing in this monitor purely for working from home, but not sure if my Microsoft Surface Pro mid spec laptop will be able to drive it? Any advice.
This screen is also good for mmorpgs
Tested this on Black Desert Online, World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2 and it truly looks amazing.
What type of display port dose it have and what type of hdmi ports does it have
Any gaming benchmarks planned? I'm planning to buy this monitor and a 2080 TI but I'm cautious about pulling the trigger now with the rumours around 30xx and big Navi.
Would the 2080 Super be enough for this beast?
You can pretty much look up 2160P(4K) game benchmarks and add on 10%fps, keeping in mind most benchmarks use full ultra settings as a baseline, where gamers are usually smart enough to tweak a few settings for the optimal IQ to performance balance.
8:00 why are you using your PC with the side panel off?
Is it getting too hot?
No...
Yes too hot and loud. It works but a little venting brings it to near silence. The PC is a bit too powerful for the case tbh
Could you name your speakers and the risers you use ? Thank you for your great content I am a huge fan of your channel
What is the depth of your desk? Is 70cm depth enough?
Can this monitor be overclocked? And if, how much
Hey centric, I saw you have played games in all sorts of monitor such as ultrawide as well as super ultrawide.
Does it have G-sync support?
This monitor is EVERYTHING!!!
Is the cheaper Version with 1080 Pixels far worse?
@@xx7135 This is late, but, no. Its easier to run games on, its 144hz instead of 120hz, and it allows you to plug in 2 computers and use PiP. Which is a HUGE plus, and is the only reason why i'm hesitating to purchase it, because I would love to code on my macbook and research on the windows, so, I could use both. They are both great choices.
But what about gsync/freesync flickering? I'm experiencing this lots now 2 monitors so far one after a week next after a day
Samsung's new Odyssey G9 monitor brought me here and I am really considering if it is worth upgrading from an X34P instead of the PG35VQ.
Not for me no!
I heard some bad reviews with this one? How was it performing after many months?
How is this different than the LG or Dell 49" monitors. I do not game, was hoping to use it for work. I heard that this has more of a curve to it which I think would be beneficial.
Extremely informative and very well put together video! I do have a question: The feet (stand) is a bit big, of course, because of the size of the monitor. Could you possibly tell me the footprint of the stand? Basically, the distance between the furthest back of the stand to the upper front of the stand. I have a desk stand and would like to know will it fit completely on it. Thanks!
would my 1080ti even work with the monitor? i mostly do music production and 2nd gaming. i would probably use mid low settings if i play
for design creation & gaming is this monitor worth it? or should i get two LG 27GL850's with the 144hz response? bearing in mind i only have an RTX 2070 super and an I7-9700k
great review. wish my desk would be big enough to fit it on.
What you thing about it now ?! and what is the best GPU compatible ?
I am torn between this C49RG90 and the Odyssey G9, on paper the G9 looks superior but its been plagued with QA issues from day one and still not fixed as off Oct 2020. Any advice on what you'd choose.
same im torn between the G9 and this. I think the are fixing the issue that's why they are out of stock as of right now. Idk weather to wait or just purchase this.
@@kazmir_ I am in the UK and some online retailers still have stock but the larger retailers: Amazon / Samsung / Ebuyer that i trust the returns policy on more are out of stock. Some people say buy from Samsung as more chance of getting a newer fixed model so i am probably going to do that. However some reviewers even in Oct are saying it has QA issues, so its a total gamble if the issues are fixed or not.
hey mate, about to get one. I have a 2080 RTX and play a ton of Apex. Any real issues you see? I do a lot of programming and video encoding, so I'm hoping this monitor strikes a good balance.
You say there's motion blur but other review sites have put it down as having pixel response on par with TN displays.
