Just put a set on my xj. The backlight has the most natural amber I have seen yet. It really mimics the oem amber marker lights. And they are very bright. For the price and size, definitely a great way to go
I could use your help.... You did such a great job with this video I’m trying to follow your lead for my Jeep. I purchased the same Harbor Freight items, however I’m not sure how to connect the wiring harness to my VOSwitch. When you cut the switch off the wiring harness, you have 5 wires (#1 RED, #2 RED/BLK, #7 BLK, #5 WHT and #6 WHT/BLK). Can you share the color wire configurations you use for each of the VOSwitch relays to control the Flood and the Spot. I see the VOSwitch has two wire connections per relay with one being the ground. I called Harbor Freight Support…but they didn’t know. Thank you in advance for your help! This will be my first real Mod for my jeep, and I want to thank you for the inspiration.
@@Vehiclesupportedtravel Just checking back, did you have a chance to check and share your wiring harness to VoSwitch connections? Again, I appricate the support.
@@soundjocky ok looking at it now since I ran the main power and ground straight to the battery I just ran the power for low beam solid red to my switch one and the power for high beam white and black to switch two. The other wires i just taped off. I guess you can run the grounds to the switch also but not needed. Since the power is connected direct to the battery the switch is just completing the circuit to turn the lights on off that’s why you only need to wires going into the vosswitch
@@Vehiclesupportedtravel Thank you. Just to confirm. VOswitch Aux 1 (Low Beam) 1 Red wire (+ terminal) Only. Aux 2 (High beam) White/black striped (+ terminal) Only. All other wires taped off and did not use. Do I have that correct? I appricate you taking the time to walk me through this...
So I bought the 6-in put them on my tundra. I love them. I do hate the inner side light. Don't know how to lock that off. How are you going to do yours?
Too bad they don't manufacture their own snap on halo to go around the light, blocking the side lights. Could even have a cutout for the exterior side. I wonder how hard it would be to 3D print some.
Hi there, the harness came with the light has 4 wires, could you please tell me which wire is for low floodlight, which for spot floodlight and which for the amber light? Thanks
Hi sorry I don’t have the jeep anymore so I don’t remember which wires were what. If you bought the harness with the switch you can just look and see what colors are going to switch and the extra wire I think it might have been yellow will be the back light
Could you please recommend a switch pod on the grab handle that is compatible with the low and high settings of these lights? I currently have the RC 6, and I understand that it is not suitable. I would appreciate your guidance in finding a better alternative that works effectively. Thank you for your assistance.
Thank you! Yes when you turn on high beam it turns all the lights on at the same time. Only the low beam when on is 2 of the lights and is the flood pattern
Just picked up a set for my dad’s XJ. I’ve already got $1,000 in BD lights on my JT so I guess I’ll have to splurge on the BD LP4’s or LP6’s. Too bad these came out just recently. Love the gator JT, I held out for a diesel and ended up not being able to get one.
BTW... there's a left and a right light... those "side LEDs" are only on one side of each. they're meant to ACTUALLY be your ditch lights. from the look of it in the video, you have them backwards. Not sure if you fixed it in a later video or not. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
@@Vehiclesupportedtravel sure as heck... you're right. They sell a 3" cube that has the marked left and right... might be a good swap (those to bumper, cube to cowl mount) to get some of that light off the hood, you're gonna blind yourself at night. 🤷🏻♂ still nice lights though.
@@Vehiclesupportedtravel 🤔 all jokes aside, you might be able to test some tape on the inside of the amber cover and see if it blunts the light. Then if it works well, you might be able to affix a thin plastic/metal shield or something in that spot on the inside of the cover. Anywho, great job on the install and info.
It really depends on the performance and durability, a less expensive light that only last one winter would not make my budget list ... Now a $100 light that competes with lights 3 or 4 times the price ... Sounds like a sweet deal to me...

I have these as my ditch lights also, found some black aluminum tape on Amazon and helped 100% on hood glare after putting it on
Very VERY helpful video. I was trying to decide between these and the Roadshock 6s, but these seem like more than enough...!
Yes the light output is very good on these!
@@Vehiclesupportedtravelare they legal for driving? Or strictly off-road only
@@noelorea9568 Even the tiny 20$ 3" pods are "off-road" only, so I'm sure these are too, I will find out today.
Gonna get these with the next 20% discount coupon I get. Can’t beat that price.
Machine is coming out great dude cheers 🍻🍻🍻
I was gonna buy these but then found the Nacho lights and went with them.
I like that voswitch you have but it appears they’ve discontinued that type
Looks like the Voswitch JL400. They still sell those. They are great.
@@emperorzurg4707 appreciate it. Just installed a spod. The car play integration is awesome

Try to aim the lights out to the side a bit , could fix the hood reflection..

I’m thinking maybe just a piece of black tape for now
I was thinking a sticker. Just wasn't sure how to do it. Thanks for responding but I definitely am happy with the lights for the price

Thanks for the review. I wish they had a 7".
They make a 6 light version that's a little larger
I just mounted mine in the same place…had to get smaller bolts too. I’ve yet to wire them but how did you get the wire through the cowl?

The switch panel I have is called voswitch it should be available on Amazon
Great review and install video. Looks really nice for the price. Can both low and high beams be on at the same time?

What Amp fuse did you wire them to? Both the lights and the amber backlight.
I used the fuse that came with the wiring harness I think it’s a 20 amp fuse
Thanks
What size of bolts did u put because I got the same Nilight bracket And where did u buy it thanks
Not sure what size bolt I used I had them laying around. The bolt that comes with the lights is to large to fit the nilight bracket

Amber DRL is good
*How important is it to light up the top of the hood? How dark could it of been?* 🤣🤣
*That has to be the worst place to add additional lights.*
