Low low low. For the money, you could spend another 90 bucks for a second bar at the grill level, and have the dosh to replace the whole kit 20 more times if it breaks. Once again, middleground proves to be the best, but I would never give this W to hi truck, even as someone who loves the look of big bulbous round KC's.
When it comes to lights, this is one of those "middle ground is best" type things. Like, there is absolutely no need to spend 2k on a light bar, but spending the bare minimum is also not the greatest. Spend a few hundred on some quality lights and you'll be happy.
Yes like spend a few bucks on a pair or 2 of the old school style kc lights they put on the bumper and call it good. 2 on a roll bar aimed slightly out and 2 on the bumper more straight forward would be plenty and not break the bank. Baja style racing would be the only time you'd need extremely far shinning lights when off roading. For what they are doing that massive roof light bar system is not necessary.
I spent $90US ($120 Australian) for the spotlights i have on my truck they are awesome, super bright really nice colour temperature aswell (more of a daylight white and not a blueish white) in my opinion i cant really see the point of spending 2K on a set of lights
I went from a set of those older KC to a cheaper light bar. Blew those KCs out of the water and it's still running 8 years later. So longevity isn't an issue either.
why not buy 2 cheap bars for $90 each? Blow the the $2k lights out of the water and use the other $1820 for more mods! Seems like they need "low guy", "high guy" and also a "smart guy".
Yeah , I feel like if they maybe spent like 200-300$ ( still a low budget ) there’s probably a light bar that can compete with kc . Feel like they should do that with every episode . Low truck gets garbage compared to high . When there is items still on a budget that could compete with the high truck purchases lol
Low truck definitely took the W on this one. There's no practical reason to need that much light that far on the trail. Low Truck had a much better pattern. The KC is good if you like looks and don't care about spending stupid money.
@@JP_A3 long term you might want something a bit better though. Feel like a Lazer led bar would be better. Slots in right in the middle in terms of price and gets you a proper warranty and support.
@@isakgustavsen6536 that's the only thing that's actually different is reliability. They should've gone off-road to bang them around to see how they hold up. That being said, you could either keep replacing those light bars or spend a little more and get a reliable one (assuming that one actually isn't reliable)
A interesting, informative test on comparing both types. I have been running a LED bar for maybe 4 years, it gets a lot of use being in Australia. For the money I would go the cheaper bar, there is only a certain amount of light you need to see the road for safety. I would be tempted to add a second full length bar to the bull bar though, so $180 is still far short of the $2k.
Uhmm, these light bars are rated for 'off-road' use and arn't ment to be used on public daily use roads. Because they are like hi-beam and blind the oncoming driver which can cause a serious accident. City drivers who put these light bars it on their city suv's and such...just to use it in city because it ''looks cool'' are bunch of d.... (not trying to offence you, just saying) I dont know in AU, but in EU if you have one mounted & even disconnected and go to car inspection, you will fail it, because these light bars are not for road use and will have to reapply for inspection again specially taking it down b4 the inspection. And if you'r unlucky to be invited in one of the 'car road-side inspections', then also police will fine you because of it and/or even remove your road legal sticker and stamp on temp. one so that you remove the bar and again need to go to inspection to get your car 'road legal' again.
@@LooNeYlv any (reasonable) person using such lights, if they even use them on the roads at all (many don't, including myself on all but the darkest nights on roads with no streetlights), turns them off when there is incoming traffic, basically using them like upgraded highbeams for when there is no one in front of you. Also, thats horrible I would hate to live somewhere like that-
@@LooNeYlv in Australia, you are allowed up to 4 additional driving lights. They must be able to be turned off with their own switch, and they must turn off on low beam.

I'd love if they made a "importance" list and decided where stuff fit in. So for instance if you only had $X,000 to upgrade your truck, what high parts are important enough for you to spend your money on and what low parts can you get by with. Because tbh low lights worked fine, and even though both James and Nolan went for high lights, I think this would be on the bottom of the list of importance
Isn't that exactly what this is, comparing high cost items to low cost items? Watch the series and decide what items that are pricey are worth spending your money on... and f everyone who tells you otherwise. It's your truck... or car, or whatever
I said this last week. I want a short follow up where Nolan and James have to agree where they spend the money on a truck. Nolan can be the wife and is the husband.
yeah like someone else said, they’re presenting the individual components, you decide how you prioritize the overall list... Of course, for any off road vehicle, tires and suspension are the foundation and should come first.
Same... Flood lights are better as area lights, row of spots will look like one, uneven lights with prominent shadows. I also would think that seeing more to the sides is way more useful than seeing twice as long... which you most likely won't be able to see since there is going to be very bright region close by. If you ask LD which solution should be used, they will say flood lights.
@@vSparq I was going to say, that could have been at the spot where, to me, it looked like they were driving with headlights off just to see what their aftermarket lights alone were like... But I'd have to imagine that 2000 dollar lights are going to assume you have some gnarly headlights as well, since you're obviously not sparing any expense to illuminate the area around you... Headlights are supposed to light up the immediate vicinity in front of you, up to a couple hundred feet. If they had some gnar headlights, then they may find that those KC lights were MUCH more usable, and the low trucks lightbar may not even make *any difference at all* when turned on, once you've got super bright headlights already lighting up that immediate area in front of you, which is where the lightbar really shined, pun intended. The only thing it may do at that point is illuminate some of the area in their peripherals a bit better than your headlights are designed to do, due to not wanting to blind other drivers.. And yes I'm talking with proper headlight housings for the type of lights they install, and beams angled properly down in front of the truck, as opposed to directly in oncoming traffic's effing eyes like EVERY TRUCK OWNER EVER does! "These'r great! Hmm.. I tilt these sumbitches up a bit more n I cn see a helluva lot better in fronna me! N nobody else but me needsta see when Im the one drivin the truck! Manafachurers sure is stoopid fer not thinkina this one!" - Every truck owner, *ever*
Big difference I noticed is the KC lights are brighter much further away, while 80$ lights are brighter closer around you, which is what you typically need if you're on tight trails and need to see closer around you. I personally would prefer the 80$ lights but they def don't look as cool as KC
The relative flood versus spot effect is about reflector design. There are other LED light bars that have a more "throwy" output and would light up the distance similar to the KC setup.
Based on those lux measurements, I'd still go with low truck's setup. It's only 25% of the light, sure, but it costs 5% of what hi truck got. That plus an easier install, I'm sold. Low truck really bangs my buck, if you know what I'm sayin'
It would be really great if the next season of Hi-Low they swapped James to be on Low team and Nolan on High team. Still bet James could sell how sick the Low parts are.
i agree, and i think it should be drag cars, like some camaros or mustangs where they do tires, suspension, turbos/ supercharger. in my opinion it would be super entertaining
Low team gets this one for me. Only because they insisted so much on the "looks" of the KC to give it the win. I could do some searching and easily find some LEDs that have the same looks as the KC at a "Low Team" budget. Also I think the Low foglights should have been near the middle so the light was a little more focused.
For real, like how about something half way, like KC style rack with LEDs at like 2-500 dollars or so. Low budget doesn't mean you have to go rock bottom choices
For another hundred bucks you could have had a really good spotlight mounted to low truck I'm not spending two grand on a set of lights because of the freaking logo
Exactly, also you do not need to see 500 meters infront of you when you offroad. Low trucks wide and smooth visibility is what you want when offroading.
dont get me wrong, high car's lights are a lot better but fuck off are they 2 grand better lmao, low car could've easily spent slightly more and gotten a very similar result
Exactly! In what universe is the more expensive light setup a better option?! A $2000 worth of friggin' lights can be justified ONLY if you are buying anti aircraft illumination!
The main downsight of Low lights is not the lower performance. It's the reliability. Those chinese led systems get hot af. Not only that can fail, but the water seal in the enclosure can fail anytime, leaving you with no lights when you need them the most. With these kind of survival tools you are paying the reliability mainly, not just the punctual performance. But yeah, the difference is way too much. There must be a reliable choice in-between the two.
I prefer the low truck visibility at night personally, I'd run it on the grill/bumper tho so the hood wouldn't be bright as f, if you get good HID's or powerful offroad led's for the headlights you can get the distance of the KC's. That's how I run my set up now and it's bright as F. Good vid
it's supposed to be a little bit on the back so it doesn't create a huge glare on the hood. ChrisFix made a video on how to mount one years ago as well.
The cost of Hi Truck is more like $3000 since they bought that extra roof rack to mount the lights over the cab. For that price difference, Low Truck can most certainly address the issues of light depth and selectability by purchasing an additional pair of driving lights to increase the depth of field; and, obtaining a Voswitch (or similar product) to increase your flexibility to choose which lights you wish to utilize for the driving conditions. But hey, “You pays your money and enjoy the ride!” Thanks guys! :D
I live in a remote part of Montana, where there is a lot of "in between" towns, lots of critters, and not many people. In the winter you can drive at night for hours and not see another car, and sometimes that's just the commute! Bright lights are worth every penny and everything from Honda Civics to semi trucks run extra lights. And mostly we're not criminals...
Had KCs on the jeep in Maine in 89-91. It was like daylight at night if there was snow on the ground. Felt bad if we went by a farm house. Sure the Farmers hated how bright it must get when we went by.
I understand the look but for the price a decent size light bar and led headlights are usually more then enough. I had a 42” bar 2 spots and led headlights in my old Jeep Liberty and went from AB to British Columbia at night in winter. It was like driving the sun!
Seems to me the low truck kit was more useable as mounted though. I suspect the KC system could probably match it with a little tinkering around with the aiming/patterning though but, man for 90 bucks that's really hard to argue with.
@Elliot Eslander Yeah, I'd imagine his time is too limited to have his own show on Donut, but I do wish he could. @@ashutoshswain4342 Also KC will probably tell you that to get the light output from factory you need to buy a bulb which will probably cost at least half of what the whole light system of low truck was
I think with the cheaper lights, you should've ordered 2 of the light bars, had one on the grille and one on the roof. Also, you could have just wired the spots and the bars into a different switch each. But for that amount of light, a 20x price increase seems a touch steep.
When you put looks in a car that was meant to be a practical off road build, that just means he probably thought it wasn't worth that much money compared to low teams, not to mention as other people are saying, low team could have spent like another 90 dollars to put another light bar in the grill or something else as well.
Lol why does caring about your appearance have to be an LA thing? I know Americans generally have a terrible sense of style and aesthetics, but don't act like caring about appearance is the weird option of the two. Lol!
If looks count for a lot, then low team wins by a mile, those KCs look ugly and antiquated compared to the sleek modern light bar. That said, if I'm building an off-roader, looks count for nothing, because very few people will ever see it, the trails just aren't that packed. Function is what counts, and that extra $2000 can go a LONG way to better use than paying to have the KC brand stamped on the front.
I've got multiple KC lights on top of my truck absolutely no whistle Minimal change in drag or fuel mileage and I've got 6" lights the ones on this truck look like 5" lights
Man, this video is bringing me back to south Louisiana in the late 90's. Got a 1995 Jeep Wrangler in high school and worked my tail off to upgrade it piece by piece when I could. After a lift, tires, some new rims, and bumpers, my last major upgrade was a full frame light bar with 5 KC Daylighters. The wiring was as best as I could get it being a 16 year old kid without the internet in it's current form. Seems back then they were much more affordable even taking into account inflation. Great video, thanks for taking this near 40 year old dad down memory lane.
Actually the characteristic "blue" LED color is much closer to the temperature color range of daylight compared to the warm halogen glow. People just think halogen looks more natural because it is closer to the color of "artificial" light sources like fire and filament lights.
The LED bars kelvin rating is like 6000k. The KC lights have a kelvin rating of 5000k which is closer to the suns kelvin rating. That's why OEM HIDs are 4300k. Closest to natural sun light. Warmer light color is much better especially in dusty and foggy conditions.
There's a 20-fold difference in price between the two. I wonder, is there a (let's say) $500 option that has a good combination price, performance, and looks?
That's the thing. The KCs were 20x more expensive but only offered 2x more lux in the tests. James kept mentioning that they are scientifically better lights but didn't really grapple with the fact that those same measurements demonstrated a much worse value proposition for high truck. I just really doubt that the modularity and look, which is totally subjective, can account for that kind of markup. I would guess that a $500 setup that more closely resembled the look and features of the KCs would eliminate them from consideration. If it could offer similar modularity and looks while at least maintaining similar lux to the lightbar, it's a slam dunk for low truck.
@@jake2011rt Psssh, "scientifically better" they used a light meter, that's just one metric of measurement. They mostly seemed to enjoy the looks of the KCs, which isn't very scientific. Personally, I would have liked to have seen MPG ratings before and after the lights were installed on each truck, those things must cause hella drag and wind resistance and maybe measurable drops in fuel economy.
Thanks for this video! Just want to note that lux is a linear scale, but our eyes respond to light in a logarithmic manner. Double the lux is only an increase in one "stop" of light. In most circumstances, unless compared side-by-side, one stop of light difference is not very pronounced to the human eye, which can have a total range of up to about 30 stops.
IMO, longevity is one of the most important metrics when it comes to lights. I know from personal experience, those cheap Amazon/Walmart LED light bars typically last a few months before they get full of moisture or start to burn out.
@@fiery_transition i have some light from chine, they got moisture inside them but I reseal them like you, 2 years after all the leds are still running.
Realistically, how far ahead on the trail do you really need to see? I would go with the cheaper version just because it flooded more light in a shorter distance. I don't need to really see a mile ahead.
it's hard to capture light patterns on camera since it'll automatically adjust. If you go by the measurements, the KC is way better close and far. I noticed it when comparing halogens to new LEDs. It's about 2x brighter but the pics barely show any difference.
On rigs like these, flood is what you’re gonna want. If you’re doing high speeds. You’re gonna want the longer throw of the kc or other high end lights.
Having distance throw with has been great on 2 occasions off road. Dry lake bed trying to find the exit when there are no landmarks before GPS was a thing 2) Looking for a friend that wrecked his side by side in the desert. We were all riding together but had to return to camp for a tow strap to yank him out. Even psychologically, having light punch out a distance makes me feel safer. Most modern vehicles have very good flood and short range lights from the factory too from LED head lights and fog lights so I already know what’s 100’ ahead of me.
@@TobyCostaRica I can see it from that perspective...no pun intended...but I have been wheeling for many years and much of it at night. I've found that while seeing a great distance is nice, seeing more of what is closer to me is better. However...I do have a spotlight that I can use in case I need it. I have considered getting a solid pair of good spotlights to put on my rig.
Lols I'm starting to feel bad for Nolan, love his optimism for the cheaper parts but he looks so demoralised when James asks him which do you think is better, his poor face 🤣
I’d go with low truck on this one but those KC’s will work just the same in 10 years where that light bar will be long gone. Great job guys!!! Lover the series
But you can buy 25 low truck light kits for the same price of the high truck light so replacing it every once and a while isn’t actually that big of a deal.
The LED ebay lights have leakage issues that cause premature failure, HOWEVER, a neopreme cover costs 18$, and has been working for 4 years on my wrangler
@@PantyDropper69 do you mean neoprene? That’s neat where’d you get it? I wonder if I could just get a sheet of neoprene and almost “shrink wrap” it around something to make it watertight.
That last part when they were talking about the two different setups, and the part about wanting to drive at night. I like driving at night. I like how quiet it is. Less cars on the road, plus, I drive a lot off road or on small narrow dirt roads. I have a lightbar setup worth around 240euro, and it's a kind of lightbar with 45 degree ends to throw light in a almost 90 degree angle out. Which is a killer on narrow dirt roads with dense forests around you. Honestly speaking, if it wasn't for that light bar, I would not be comfortable driving on some roads. Especially not during moose hunting season. I can say that for most people, a cheap lightbar setup is worth it, for seeing more. But if you've got the money and want to light up the night like a portable sun, then go ahead and buy the more expensive setup.
The weight added kills what little acceleration those trucks have. I did all of this on my Wrangler and wish I had taken weight into consideration. Low Truck will definitely have better acceleration.
I was going to compliment James actually instead. He seemingly stayed at the exact same tempo for that whole little "song," without a click track or ANY kind of percussion/bass to lead him... Unless they slowed or sped this down minutely in spots, that's incredibly impressive that he was able to sing that at such a constant speed, thus that it allowed them to put a constant tempo behind it *afterwards* in editing! I think James became a musical rainman after his heart attack... It's the only way. If I'd done that, the beat would have been all over the place trying to stay with me at all lol.
Keep this series going guys. One thing I notice between the two is the light stability when driving, The LED light bar and pods were not shaky compare to the $2K KC light's shakes when driving.
That most likely is because low trucks brackets were screwed directly to the body while hi trucks lights were mounted on a roof rack. The roof rack is going to more vibrations and flex to get to the lights. If the KC lights were mounted to the chassis, the stability should have been about the same.
Can’t wait to see the “water” test after install… didn’t see silicone applied to screw/bolt holes of hi-truck, so will more be better? At least low-truck holes were on side and inside weatherstripping dripping rails. Cheers.. can’t lie, that switch panel in hi-truck is phenomenal and I know good, no, great switch panels are not cheap.
Believe me they did waterproof it and install it correctly. Just because it was not shown does not mean they did not do it. If you want to see long install videos and see every little detail you can pay seven dollars a month for extended videos.
I drive a lot in rural areas in deer country. I installed a light bar behind my grille. It makes spotting and avoiding deer much safer and easier. There's no way I'd spend $2k for lights. If I do smack a deer and ruin a lightbar, I'll buy a new one and put it on a different truck. With the daylighters, you're screwed if there's any physical damage.
@@zeedstun891 - you missed the part where he said "behind his grill". Also, in the Midwest and northern area of the US it's not uncommon to encounter deer on the major highways and interstates, so 65 - 80 mph is a real option. Hitting anything close to the size of an adult deer is a total write-off at that speed.
Well both are great options. The only issue is they're different uses. The KC's would work great in open areas like the desert or plains. The light bar is great in tight wooded areas or high brush. The KC's are a projector light, while the light bar is a flood light. Light placement is a major factor here. The light bar being mounted on the roof makes a blinding reflect off the hood. I would recommend the bumper or on a roll bar in the bed tbh. The KC's don't really matter because they're projectors and will move the light beyond the vehicle. I would still recommend them on a roll bar though. Personally I would just make my own configuration and wire them into switches that operate separately. The $90.00 light bar is a good start. The KC's are way too expensive, but more designed for people who want an easy bolt on.
Hard to tell from watching a video instead of real life, but it looks like the KC setup is more useful at speeds and the lightbar if you're going slow. So out in the woods doing some mud and rock crawls, light bar seems to flood near the truck very well. Doing a rally at night, the KC because it lights up far and very well.
2000 dollars can get you 22 of low teams lights and you'd have 20 dollars leftover for food or something. So in this case, no, the more expensive lights aren't better.
The cheap lights gave you more width which is really what I need on nighttime trails, especially when you're coming around blind/dark curves and you need immediate vision rather than waiting for your 500mi spot lights catch up.
I definitely love the looks of the KCs and I appreciate the pure utility/price of the 90 dollar bar, but if it were me I would be looking in between. 2 Gs is a shitton of money for lights. I feel like you could get something nice looking and fully functional for less than a grand.

100%, who in their right mind would spend $2000 on lights when the $90 light bar is plenty sufficient.
Agree. What they said is completely irrelevant....those KCs are not even close to "be worth it".
That being said, you could either keep replacing those light bars or spend a little more and get a reliable one (assuming that one actually isn't reliable)
facts
A interesting, informative test on comparing both types. I have been running a LED bar for maybe 4 years, it gets a lot of use being in Australia. For the money I would go the cheaper bar, there is only a certain amount of light you need to see the road for safety. I would be tempted to add a second full length bar to the bull bar though, so $180 is still far short of the $2k.
These yanks don’t understand how real 4x4s are built, everything down under is better
(not trying to offence you, just saying)
I dont know in AU, but in EU if you have one mounted & even disconnected and go to car inspection, you will fail it, because these light bars are not for road use and will have to reapply for inspection again specially taking it down b4 the inspection.
Living in Alaska I need quality lights. Winter is cold and harsh on lights, also the bumps on the road kill bars, I’ve destroyed multiple from road chatter. I’ve never had a rigid, Baja or my vision x bars fail.
I think they do that at the end of the series
they did that in the last episode of the last series, i imagine they will do the same here
The dark spot immediately in front of high truck would drive me nuts though despite the significantly better light
I got you cover bro ua-cam.com/video/AGCqzDsZVzk/v-deo.html
Now they need better headlights!

@@JohnBaxendale on the same note, the kc's are modular, and likely they could get a set up that matches the perspective of the low team bar
Based on those lux measurements, I'd still go with low truck's setup. It's only 25% of the light, sure, but it costs 5% of what hi truck got. That plus an easier install, I'm sold. Low truck really bangs my buck, if you know what I'm sayin'

Also I think the Low foglights should have been near the middle so the light was a little more focused.
For real, like how about something half way, like KC style rack with LEDs at like 2-500 dollars or so. Low budget doesn't mean you have to go rock bottom choices
I only gave the win to LoTruck because of practicality. The lights do their job just fine and get the job done.

I also want to see the look on Jame's face getting low car.

But hey, “You pays your money and enjoy the ride!” Thanks guys! :D

The light out of the KC's was more warm. I think that's what Nolan means by "more real"
Yeah daylight yellowish warmth vs the artificial blue light that a lot of white LEDs give off.
Actually the characteristic "blue" LED color is much closer to the temperature color range of daylight compared to the warm halogen glow. People just think halogen looks more natural because it is closer to the color of "artificial" light sources like fire and filament lights.
@@crisprapper daylight its actually around 5000K, white with a light blue hue
@@jpiccari Exactly.
So next time a middle of road mods? Best option middle of price between two. $100 to close to $3000? $1500 would get you a lot.

I like driving at night. I like how quiet it is. Less cars on the road, plus, I drive a lot off road or on small narrow dirt roads.

Yeah man which switch panel is that/what would you recommend for a switch panel?
Believe me they did waterproof it and install it correctly. Just because it was not shown does not mean they did not do it. If you want to see long install videos and see every little detail you can pay seven dollars a month for extended videos.

That’s a phoebe rip off.
With the daylighters, you're screwed if there's any physical damage.
how hard are you hitting these deers that they hit the roof of your car?!?!?!?!?
You guys need to take these trucks for a multi day trip when you're done with em!!
Looks like they're adding rooftop tents based on how the animations match the trucks, so it'll probably happen.
I also didn't think the low lights didn't look as bad as they said. Would 100% take low over high. (Probably would get something in the middle)
This
The cheap lights gave you more width which is really what I need on nighttime trails, especially when you're coming around blind/dark curves and you need immediate vision rather than waiting for your 500mi spot lights catch up.
14:40 just wire in a separate switch for the spots. it still won't be 2 grand.
That drone shot at 11:40 is amazing, you can see how bright the KCs are at a distance.
Brooooo the katana sound effect when Nolan unsheathes the light bar😂😂😂😂
Nolan’s got that slide whistle blade 😂
7:35 Hey Ol’ Lady, Get Truck’d (feat. Zach)
I definitely love the looks of the KCs and I appreciate the pure utility/price of the 90 dollar bar, but if it were me I would be looking in between. 2 Gs is a shitton of money for lights. I feel like you could get something nice looking and fully functional for less than a grand.
Diode Diode dynamics is a good brand to check out. Their pods have really good beam patterns and they are only a few hundred bucks. Literally every light that has that simple bowl reflector style like low truck’s light bar is absolute garbage though. They just don’t produce useful beam patterns.
Pretty sure for 2k I can start looking at a thermal camera
@@nickabel8279 u mean night vision?
Should have lights all the way around for 2G's
@@ebeneZr all depends on what you're doing/ preference.
Caddy did Thermal at one point. Another did night vision. You can get some pretty cheap ir set up these days too. Though ir imo doesn't go very far. Thermal I've heard of spotting cops on Rd side at a mile
😬 I love the fact that the intro animated trucks actually have the parts that they're getting ON them as well 👍
Love to see a series "Can you build a Supercar killer for 20k" then do all the magazine tests to see if it can compete
For 20k they couldn't even build original high car
Killer in what? A straight line? Yawn. For a few thousand miles before the motor loses oil pressure? Oh look it turns faster but nobody cares because it's a shitbox.
@@jeffcivjeep7 no the full monty, track times, off the line, braking, slalom.
Back in the 90s an Eclipse GSX with a few mods was eating supercars alive. Just curious if it can be repeated.
Even modern supercars aren't known for reliability either.
I think the kc would of been a lot better if they would of put some wide flood lights on the bumper and the up close light would of been a lot better
"Low team has a light bar that they bought from Spencer's gifts"
And then they took the extra $1,900 and had a party...
I was wondering if anyone else would notice that statement.
Should have kept the theme with the "winch vs come along" episode.
$20 flashlight vs $1500 off road lighting
That's just stupid
@@zshn28 woosh, missed the point
@@zshn28 that’s the point. He’s mocking the winch vs comealong episode
Nah, price difference is about right...80/1200usd for the winches, 90/2000usd for the lighting. Tf you talking about.
It's not the cost. It is the ridiculousness of the comparison.
Does "shovel vs backhoe" work better for you?
But really, a come along should be in addition to a winch not a replacement.
you should do a camper van conversion with a van (make model. what ever you want. aslong as theres going to be a camper van. itll be dope to see
and i do love watching high low. best car show on the youtoobs
I swear, get ChrisFix in HiLow series on the Low team, it'd be a blast!
I always think when I watch this that when the build is finished I really want to see a Goldy locks truck, with the bits they decided they liked from each truck. I bet that that truck will be better than either high or low.
Literally obsessed with this channel. The fact that they share such great content and explained in lay man terms is major in. Keep them videos coming!!
i dont know why zach saying “hell yeah dude” with his hair is hilarious😂
Idk your comment and the sandwich comment youtuber up there is exactly the same

I work for a commercial cleaning Company one of the many services that we provide is street sweeping we perform this job usually late at night or in the early hours we recently installed LED light bar and LED spotlights similar to low car What are being used for works extremely well the light bar and spotlights we have roped in with work lights on our switchboard
I am loving this series! So happy y’all went with a truck this round
The CRI is massively better on the KCs which is why it seems more "real"
Exactly that. The difference between let's say 80 and 90 is already very noticeable.
Cri?
@@RandyAugustus Colour Rendering Index. An indikator of how "full/complete" the light is. The higher the value the more details you can see.
Who thinks that the high truck is growing as a pavement queen in the hands of real enthusiasts 🙃
The ability to put on just the spotlights would be particularly helpful in a snow storm... probably not something you have to worry about, but high beams can make it more difficult to see in a snow storm, that LED light bar I think could truly leave you blinded!
-Shawn
Definitely. Looks like they live closer to desert, but I'm in Wisconsin and I got some cheap $40 yellow fog lights. Mainly thinking about the snow and fog.
I have the $80 lightbar on my truck, it's amazing. Our RV has 10 led lights including a 22" and a 54" bar. You can probably see it from space with them all on.
you could try another brand of budget lightbar, or simply add another 1 or 2. $2000 is lots of $$$ to most people
Not really room to stack cheap light bars and it would look trashy anyways. You could also skip the expensive KC lights bar and go with some lights from Baja Designs and get similar lux out of them
@@AVRides 2 stacked and staggered is common and I think looks better than the one they put up high.
They actually spent $2750 because of the rack they mounted them on. Low Truck definitely won this challenge.
would be interesting to see the total build times of each truck at the end of the season. they obviously tell us the total price of all the mods, but knowing all the hours put into each truck would be cool too.
Agreed
09:05 YES FELIPE!
11:10 Hi-Truck, there's more Clarity than Lo-Truck
I like how when high truck has an item they just mount so much things to "mount" the high item. Light bars? Let's put a whole roof rack on here. Wench? Let's just put a cage system and a bumper cage too.
They’re adding way too much weight
"Can I get a katana sound effect?"
Editor: How about no.
He did get it, only it was the Low budget one. 🤣
My 30-40 buck led light bar from Amazon has lasted many years and done well for driving on the beach. Auxbeam with switch kit
Would love to see the teams swap budgets next season
As usual It's a good video nicely done great effort not that my opinion matters 😂 but Still drilling holes.... not a good idea and installing brackets without proper treatment of the metal... Hmmm that's just recipe for water leakage and rust
Lives in California doe. It’s not as likely to happen compared to some dude out in North Carolina or Maine doing the same thing.
There would be rust on an Ohio truck in about 10 minutes.
yeah i was thinking this like a quick primer or something to spray in there would be enough
Californians: water… leakage? You lost me on the first half tbh.
Toledo Cars hey I'm guessing you from Ohio if so me too
The “Get Trucked Up” song is equally as good as pop up and down headlights and I wouldn’t be upset if we got a full version of “Get Trucked Up”🤷♂️😂
This really “brightens” my Sunday, pun intended.
Ay yo
High truck is getting crazy and low truck is becoming a metaphor for my whole life
With light bars it really comes down to preference. I personally like the cheap light bars because when driving it gives u a brighter view in front and sides the kc lights are good for a beach party

I bought a 4WDKING light bar for my 1991 FJ80 land cruiser and let me tell you, the 28k lumen rating was not a joke. I’ve taken that single row 40” light bar all around the country and it can light up a whole mountain from a quarter mile. Bought a Nilight wiring kit with a relay for it and it’s far brighter than any of my friends KC bars or other light bar brand.
This show genuinely makes my life better. Love it
